I'm a first time customer. I felt like the process was smooth. There were a few things that popped up with the multi-point inspection that were discussed with me. The rep was understanding that I could look into those things myself with some help, and didn't pressure me into anything. Overall I was pleased and will be returning in the future when needed.

Incredibly nice people who want the best for you and your car. Overall you guys did good work on my daughters car. Usually got her in right away and had the repair done the same day or next day if a part needed to be ordered. Matt s Repair pricing is fair. First time to Matt's Auto, had heard good reports. My 2004 PT Cruiser needed sway bar repair at rear axle since it was rattling and I had oil and coolant leaks which were common at 120K miles. Matt's found that I had a bad rear tire too most likely ruined from the potholes in our city streets after a long winter so I got 2 new tires installed to the front since it is a front wheel drive and the older tires moved to the back. Matt's found multiple items that needed repair and I approved most of them with the total coming to some $4,800 dollars; some items needed extensive labor time like a new timing belt where oil was leaking on and was due at 120K miles. I decided to have this all done since I enjoy this PT Cruiser and wanted to get another 10 years use out of it which I figured would amount to some $500 a year just like the first 10 years I owned it when I bought it for $5,000 dollars. Not bad for a $25,000 dollar car I figured. I appreciated Matt's giving me all the time I needed to decide what work I chose to approve. This was the first time I had experienced the technology used to communicate repairs needed and options to Approve or Decline either by email or on the smart phone. The car is running great and I will use Matt's again at 2911 16th St S in Moorhead since it is close to my home in Village Green. Next job my 1986 Camaro !? Worst experience I have had dealing with a mechanical shop. I bought tires and brakes from them costing over $1300 with labor. Warranty good for 3 years. Took my vehicle in, and was told warranty is good for 1 year. Each employee gave me a different answer. No one knew what they are doing or talking about. My brakes still make noise, my tire light still shows up. Horrible, horrible service. Matt's auto service is the worst and I don't recommend them to anyone. You're better off going anywhere else. The sad thing is I was referred to them and this is the treatment I received. Don't waste your time and money there. On top of it all I'm supposed to have free tire rotation like any other shop you buy tires from, but apparently that's not included. All lies!Service: Brakes

I highly recommend Matt's Automotive. While I do use my dealership more so than that going elsewhere, whenever I have used Matt's, I have never had a bad experience with them at all. As a female, it is assumed that I understand little about maintenence. I have never encountered this at Matt's. Yes, they give a lot of details and do want to provide the best service so they are going to suggest what your manufacturer recommends as they work on your issue. It is good customer care, and it is not being pushy. They are happy to know if a recommended service was done elsewhere. They just want to make sure your vehicle is running top notch and bring attention to what you may have overlooked. They also are extremely helpful explain to you when you want more explanation and do not rush through their explanation. Matt's is also very community oriented which is a great plus. This was the number one reason why I support their business. Might you find a less expensive option? Maybe...but all things considered, I love their commitment to respect, diligence, thoroughness, and community involvement.Service: Electrical

Hey neighbors. I want to give a warning to all the folks out there about Matt s automotive and their shady practices.I got my CV joints and some other pretty spendy work done (roughly 2500$) since that work was completed (under warranty) I have had to take it back to be re-done 3 times and this last time, I was so fed up cause they then said I needed a new head gasket and some other major repairs, so I let them re-do the warranty work and said no to the other repairs they wanted to do. I then took my car to a different shop and had them look over the work that was just completed and the recommended issues. Well wouldn t you know the new CV joints are faulty, they have been using faulty parts for their warrantied work, also I had a cracked O-ring from my oil cap being tightened too tightly, not a head gasket!!Also they put 7000 miles on my oil change sticker, now I m not dumb but others might not know that is too long to go between oil changes. They are fostering an issue by expecting people to come in less often, but with more issues. DO NOT TRUST THIS BUSINESS!I was told by a several mechanics locally that Matt s Automotive uses cheap parts and charges top shelf prices for terrible work.This has cause so many problems in my life with a car that has never given me any issues till I took it to Matt s Automotive. I would give them ZERO stars.

Charlie at Matt's south Moorhead location was wonderful to work with! He provided me with a loaner vehicle while mine was being worked on so I didn't miss any of my meetings and appointments. His concern for my safety was much appreciated. When I had my car back and had noticed the sensor hadn't been reset after the oil change, he came to where I was at work to set it for me. He checked in with me on Monday after I had my my car back over the weekend to make sure I was able to get arrangements made for repairs I needed that were under warranty elsewhere. This place is the REAL DEAL. Dashboard light went on, so brought car in. Was super easy -- booked appointment online. I asked for an oil change per the oil light on. They checked and said I didn't need an oil change, the button just hadn't been reset at last change (at another place). They did a check of fluids/engine etc. to see if there was anything that needed attention, even took a picture of a belt I was worried might need changing, they showed me the picture (which is cool you can see inside your car!), reassured me there was nothing needing attention and they said my car was ready - at no charge! So, they are professional, courteous, and honest. It's been a few months and car is running great so they were spot on, was just a reset issue. I so appreciated their taking the time to check if there was anything additional and reassure me, so important to me for driving my kids around. Will definitely be back here for my next service. Thanks to everyone at Matt's who helped me!

I was told to swap out my vehicle with a loaner vehicle on June 30th because my chevy traverse needed the rear differential replaced. It took three weeks to get the part. I tried calling and left messages on the 30th but nobody answered. I went to the shop in South Moorehead after taking all my carseats out to swap out vehicles. When I got there the shop was closed for 90 days. There was a contact number on the door if I needed assistance. I called that number and nobody answered. Now I'm getting these google reviews asking how my service was. It wasn't good. Still hasn't happened. This is uncharacteristic for Matt's. They were a very good company up to this point. Still, nobody has reached out after their mistake. I will most likely be taking my business elsewhere since I seemed to be overlooked.Service: Auto maintenance

I have had such great experiences working with Matt's Auto. Jessica and Vern have been so accommodating and helpful with answering questions and easing any concerns. They offer rides if detailed service is needed as well as have rental vehicles which really saved the day for me. The work done on my vehicle has been exceptional and I trust in them for all my service needs. I have just moved to the area but I have already found my "hometown" service center. Thank you for all you do!

Great service! Helpful to make an appointment in advance if you can. Like and appreciate the Sanford discount. Great location. Really appreciate the ride home after dropping off my vehicle for the day. Will definitely go back when I need Automotive service again.

Blaine was super welcoming and friendly. They got my car in quickly and had it finished even faster than I imagined they could. While a little more expensive, they have a 5 year warranty on any work they do, and 12 month roadside assistance. I love that they have an easy to use website approval system for problems they find during diagnostics. They are never condescending and are great at answering or clarifying any questions. They also have free loaner cars as well. Love Matt's!!!

Very attentive and a very comfortable waiting area. They discovered an issue from a previous repair at a different shop, and took care of everything for me! Jess called the previous shop, took care of the entire warranty process, and did all of the extra work so I wouldn t have to worry. She called back less than 24 hours later to let me know the warranty will cover repairs and to schedule service. I ve never had a shop go this far above and beyond to make it easy on me, and I absolutely recommend them!Service: Oil change

We worked with William at Matt's to get an oil change and a few estimates. The service was great and timely. William was exceptionally friendly and great at building raport. He was very honest and straight forward about my old car's unique issues. Plus, they hooked me up with free coffee. All around great experience.

This was the first time I have brought a vehicle into an auto repair shop by myself. I went in for a break inspection and an oil change and they were very detailed and informative with what they found and even found another issue with my car that I didn't even know about. They showed me pictures of everything so I could see what repairs needed to be made and talked with me so I understood what needed to be done and they gave me fair price estimates. I came back a week later to make the repairs that we agreed upon and they kept me informed while the repairs were being made. I am very happy with the work that they did, the staff is friendly and patient and I will be coming back to them when I need something done on my vehicle.

Had the pleasure of working with Daren and Matt. Both of these gentleman were very informative of what was going on with my vehicle. I have to say it s shocking when you keep your car clean and yet still they found a mouse nest in my air filter!! I was very happy that they helped me fix that situation! You guys are the BEST!!

I've been taking my vehicles to Matt's Automotive for several years and have been to 3 of their locations. I own two vehicles that are 15+ years old. I stay up to date on regular service through Matt's and they are both still running great. The staff is always honest about what service is important right away and what can wait. I don't feel like they are upselling for a bigger ticket. The staff is very responsive to providing details with pricing, prior to any work done. Matt's is my go-to for service on my vehicles.

We were traveling through Moorhead on our way back to Utah and an oxygen sensor went out. They were able to get us in right away in the morning analyze the problem and get it repaired within an hour and a half. We were on our way very quickly. Excellent prices. They have a great waiting area with plenty of drinks and Netflix while we were waiting. Very friendly staff also!Service: General repairs & maintenance
