They were up front and honest about the situation and probably could ve have taken advantage of us, but didn t. That being said, we had to leave the truck on their lot longer than expected because my son is a college student and left for Christmas. Nothing was discussed about a $25/day fee for leaving the vehicle in their empty lot when we took it in. In hindsight, it s understandable, but it was never disclosed up front or we would ve handled it differently. After an exhausting amount of discussion with a guy who seemed to have the logic of a middle school girl, we settled on a small storage fee and all ended well enough. The amount of time spent trying to explain logic to the guy was exhausting though and when I calculate the wasted time spent bickering with him, it may have been easier to just pay the full storage fee .At the end of the day it all worked out ok, but some of us have better things to do than sit and argue with the shop manager about storage fees on an empty lot.Had that not happened, this would be a glowing 5 star review, but wasting customers time over something so frivolous is just bad business.

I am a loyal customer, I have used Duggan's on 7 repairs over the years and have had nothing but positive experiences. They do not recommend repairs that are not needed, plus they are 10-20% less cost than the franchise shops.

I hit a pothole. Ok, who hasn't?? My tire looked flat alright. I got my car insurance co. to put my donut on. Then I drove over to Duggan's which was about half a mile up Main St. from where I was. Once there, the mechanic showed me my tire...perfect condition...but my rim however, needed to be replaced. They called around and got a salvage co. to order a rim from another co. When I picked it up...I went straight to Duggan's to bring my new used rim in order to get the tire around it. My appointment to mount the ensemble onto my car is set for Monday afternoon. There will be no charge for this and they put air on my tires too. I am very pleased with Duggan's so far. It's understandable that they couldn't do the work when I took the rim in as it was Friday around 3:30.Duggan's entry is level with the pavement on their lot. I did not see handicap parking. I have a handicap hangar but parking is close so I just pulled in. I do not believe they sell parts like an auto parts store, strictly auto repair. They also did not charge me for preparing a list of things wrong with my car per my request. The "boss" explained what was the most important thing to repair immediately.Basically...they took care of me. The price of things was sticker shop high but everything is now and I know that their prices are lower in some things that need to be done.Bottom line...they are good people...I do recommend them!

These guys are trustworthy and I ve had work done on multiple vehicles. I made the mistake of going to Matt s Auto Service and not only did they find other items to fix (which I did) but I left without a sensor getting fixed. After a month of no vehicle use I brought my van to Duggan s. They actually took the time to figure out what was wrong and had it running the same day.Service: General repairs & maintenance

I have never felt more comfortable with a mechanic in terms of price, personable staff and over all final return for money spent. Dan is incredibly easy to talk to and work with and the staff that he trusts to work for him ensure satisfaction in the results that they produce. 10/10 would recommend to anyone I'd trust to not give them trouble.

This is review is long overdue. Last fall I had a noise in my car that Google and calls around was thought to be a possible failing lifter in my Honda Pilot. I was overdue for the factory recommended timing belt change and figured get that done and the noise looked at. Because the noise was coming from within the engine and it could have been tied to the timing belt they recommended to first replace the timing belt and water pump to see if that took care of it.That was not the problem. The next step was to start exploring the other possibilities which meant to start taking apart the top of the engine. I was told costs for labor to disassemble, and diagnose the problem. They found the issue and it was bad. Dan (the owner) really wanted me to see the issue and met me hours before they opened to show me the problem and explain how it could have happened (previous owner neglect on oil changes) and gave me an estimate of fixing it. It required a top end rebuild, I was given every option of trying to re-machine parts, etc.I was told every step of the way cost to diagnose and fix problems. They were very clear that they start with the most common reason for the noise but once they get the engine apart it may not be one single problem but a number of issues causing the noise. They gave me the best price they could, treated me well and did a great job. Best part is the work came with a 20K/two-warranty on the work they did.It boils down to this: Honest, fair and professional.I don't give 5 stars because nobody is perfect. :)

My brother recommended this business as I'm from out of town. I had a conference in Fargo and they got me in, communicated (very well) about the issues and developed a plan that worked for my finances. Also being open at 7:00 a.m. allowed for easy dropp off and pick up. I would recommend this business and will be utilizing them again.

Dan was more than happy to work with me when I had a service issue. They are a reasonable, community minded shop, and really care about the customers wants and needs. If for whatever reason you are unhappy with a product or service, they will make it right. Their shop is impeccably clean and organized, and their work is high quality and thorough.

I've been to Duggan's many times for general work and a couple bigger problems. These guys are top notch! I was just in for another oil change and they let you know what all is going on and do thourough checks. This is the only place in the FM area I feel I can take my car to and trust what they tell me. Never had anything but amazing service!

As a new resident to the Fargo/Moorhead area, finding a good mechanic can be a challenging task. These guys are the most easy to work with guys I've had the pleasure of going to. I was referred to Duggan's Auto from a coworker after telling him my story of a horrific dealership bill I had to pay when they wanted to replace a cooling fan (My AC wasn't working and this is what the dealer told me was the problem).I had Duggan's replace the fan for a fraction of the cost of the dealer and well still no AC (no fault of Duggan's). Duggan's went through and diagnosed the problem for me and promptly set up the appointment for a AC compressor, condenser, and expansion valve replacement.Duggan's kept me in the loop throughout this whole process calling me 2-3 times a day fully explaining what they did, or how they went about their diagnostics.THEN to go above and beyond when I got there to pick up my, now ice cold :) car, Corry took me back and showed me all of the components that were replaced and showed me the machine used to diagnose the problem. Now a full AC system replacement isn't cheap anywhere but it is a heck of a lot less than going to a dealership.Kind, knowledgeable workers who will show you their process. A great shop for anyone.

I was in a bit of a bind, so I stopped in here a while ago to have my tire repaired and they were able to get me in and out and about 10 minutes. They were professional, the lobby was clean, etc. This type of service is something I really appreciate and given that I work close by it's something im definitely going to remember.

Should be a ZERO! Sent my college daughter there several months ago to get her brakes redone under NAPA Warranty (warped front rotors causing steering to wobble while braking). Instead of completing the warranty work, the shop told her that it may be the back rotors and did not redo the front brakes under the warranty (2-years/24K miles). Fast forward to summertime when she got home. Took her car in and guess what...warped front rotors, $400 bill and not under warranty. Thanks for nothing.Service: Brakes

Duggan's Auto is amazing. They always give my wife and I multiple pricing options and try to find the least expensive, best option for our car. We don't go anywhere else with our vehicles.

My son and 6 others were on the way home from and adventure in 3 National Parks and their car broke down and AAA towed it to Duggans Auto service at 4 am in the morning. Once the shop opened and there was an opening Mason Diagnosed and solved the issue and they were able to get back on the road heading home. The repair cost was reasonable and accurate. Thank you Mason and I would highly recommend Duggans Auto Service!

Took my van in onThursday and had the pressure sensor replaced. On Saturday the pressure sensor leaked badly and I ran the van back to the shop to leave it over the weekend so they could look at it on Monday. That Sunday after dropping off the keys and filling out the form in their drop box I got a call that they had looked at the van, on their day off, and would get it fixed first thing Monday. Here it is on Monday and Im back at work with my van fixed quickly with almost no hassles. They even gave me a free oil change as an apology which even adds to my opinion that Duggan's is an excellent repair shop and one I highly recommend.

On Monday My daughter needed a starter replaced on her car while replacing the starter they ( @Duggan's) noticed the fuel filter was rusty and leaking, so they called my daughter and asked if it was ok to replace she said yes they did. Today brought the car in to have the fuel pump replaced ( @Duggan's ) they said after looking at it, it wasn't worth doing the job, to much other stuff was wrong, after taking $500.00 on Monday for the work then, it was ok to work on 4 days ago but not today. I would not recommend this place! Unfortunately they took advantage of my daughter. Lesson learned

I have a hard time trusting alot of auto repair places, but after my experience with the service and honesty provided here they won themselves a customer for life. Treated me right. I usually work on most of my own repairs myself, but I will likely be bringing it in for repairs now. Quality and integrity!!!

My stepson is going to college in Moorhead and does not have a lot of experience with cars, one day his ball joint in his 1997 ford escort broke. He had AAA coverage so he called and was towed to Duggans as they are a AAA recommended shop. Once there, Duggans gave him an estimate which he felt was quite high for the repair so he questioned whether he could afford to have the car repaired there or not. At that point Duggans informed him that they already had a bill for 1/2 hour of labor for diagnosing the repair (even though a broken ball joint is pretty obvious) and that they would charge him another $50 to pull the car back out of the shop. At that point he felt like they were holding him hostage so he contacted us and we recommended that even though the estimate was quite bit higher that what our local shop at home quoted us, he just get the repair done and we would help him with the payment so we didn't have to deal with towing the car back home. After getting the bill for the repairs and seeing that Duggans noted that they felt the car had many problems and was not safe to drive, I did some research on the parts that they put into the car and found that not only had they put in the most expensive parts that NAPA had in stock for the car but that they also marked up the parts 66.5% above retail parts store prices, but then at the bottom of the bill they gave him a discount so he ended up only paying 52% above retail for the parts. Duggans also charged him an extra $25 for towing on the bill because they said he didn't decide to to go ahead with their repairs fast enough so they had to pull the car back out of the shop, they noted that it was $50 but they gave him a $25 discount. Duggans may well be a very good repair shop, but if you get in the unfortunate position of having to be towed in by AAA's tow truck beware that you may be get charged much more than you should because after all, how are you going to leave?I tried contacting AAA about this and after several months finally got a call back and was told that they find it is not unusual for their recommended service providers to charge much more than retail prices for parts and that you go get a AAA discount...I also tried contacting Duggans by email several times with no response. In the end it ended up costing him $361.27 after "discounts" for one lower ball joint and axle shaft that could have been purchased for $78.25 (retail with tax) and installed in 1.6 hours according to Duggans own hourly flat rate charges.

Good place. I contacted another place (the one next door on Main Ave.) and they quoted me $130 to take the front driveshaft off, change the U joints, put in the new ones, and put the driveshaft back on. However I took the driveshaft off myself but couldn't get the U joints out. They quoted me $130 just to remove the old U joints, something that can be done in 10 minutes with the proper tools! (which I don't have) So I contacted Duggan's Auto and they quoted me at around $50-$70 to take out the old U joints and put in the new ones! A much better price, and it didn't take very long. They even gave me a free shot grease for my driveshaft the next day for free! (It had to be done while it was attached to my vehicle.)

Took advantage of an 18yr old girl, put $500 of repairs into a "good running car, it can last you a long time" one day and then three days later "its a fire hazard" and needs a ton of repairs "not worth it". And "he must not be as good as a mechanic as me" - their guy said on day 4 about day 1 mechanic.
