Randomly found this company scrolling through marketplace while looking to purchase a used TDI Jetta, Shaphan was excellent to work with and gave me all the information I could've ever asked for about the car. They had also recently serviced it, and had service records of their work. almost a year later I'm still unbelievably happy with this car, almost 30,000 miles already and not a single hiccup. I appreciate the work you guys do out there and I'll certainly be looking to you when I'm ready for the next VW !

I own two Volkswagens and have been trusting Minnesota German Autowerks with all my repairs for about two years now. They have friendly mechanics, do top notch work, and are highly knowledgeable on VWs and Audis.I had the high-pressure fuel pump go out on my 2007 Touareg and they were able to replace it for significantly less than what the dealer quoted me on it, while still using high-quality parts. I was very happy with the work they did, and I'm happy to report that the VR6 is back to revving happily when I smash the go pedal.

Our 2003 Minni Cooper project was not treated well at all. Stating the facts; Rob owner/operator quoted $1000.00 to put new rod bearing in. In conversation; it was asked cost of bearings and time of delivery on bearings. Quoted $200.00 for kit roughly and about $800.00 on labor. Later come to find out. New bearings had not been put in and was still charged just under a grand. On top of it he changed tax on labor. I'm Minnesota we don't charge tax on labor. Then asked to correct issue 3 time to make it right. Never came to complete service rendered.

They charged me over $400 to install a relay that was good and $200 to diagnose a faulty computer. They broke a hood latch and damaged my radiator in the process. In their response to this review, they state that I damaged the radiator trying to replace a relay but I didn't.There were fresh saw marks from a cutting tool they used to take something off.It was surprising. They cut right into the radiator for some reason.I had to buy another hood latch, install it and have the car towed away. They took the distributor out and blocked it in so I had to ask them to unblock it, buy a new distributor online and move it to a spot where a tow truck could hook up to it- they lost the distributor too! I had to buy a new one.Their one mechanic can't remember what he worked on and told me they likely wont work on my car anymore. When I came back to fix the latch; the mechanic told me that a cop had been parked behind it earlier that week doing something for about an hour.It must have been because I asked them to write up an invoice.Very politely I should add- I'm not one who raises my voice or likes bad relations- I think they could sense this and took advantage of my meek nature.Possibly even told by the Wright county deputy that I was nuts or something.(another disheartening tale after I caught a window peeper on video and the police said they wouldn't need the video footage)Seedy wright county sheriff.Vandals and window peepers. The police were parked behind my car after I discovered they withdrew almost $650 from my account without telling me what they did or writing up any type of invoice and asked them to print up an invoice- adding that a lawyer may need to ask for the receipt instead of me.It was there for 4 months and they kept getting more uneasy each time I returned to see if it was ready- telling me they had more important cars to fix.In all, one should be very wary about these swindlers.Dealing with cops- possibly encouraged by them to frustrate the customer.Maybe ensured by police that they will not be held accountable should their practices be a little shady. They will take money out of customer's accounts without explaining why.Breaking things on the car, inflated repair costs. They are a seedy bunch. All they have are old junkers on the lot that will need repairs almost immediately. They even could be stealing good parts off your car and replacing them with parts that will need to be replaced.Stay away and buy from a reputable dealer.

The owner is a good man, respectful and treated me like a valued customer. I have had issues prior and when dealing with Rob. I did not feel as if he took time to solve this issues let alone create a solution where I felt better about the situation. I feel he could be less condescending and show more care and empathize when a customer has valid concerns and issues. Previous issues aside the level of professionalism the owner showed tonight has made me change my look into the company as a whole. The owner took the time to come to my house and look into my car not starting. Which was literally just my battery likely going bad. I made an assumption based on previous experience and made a less than positive review. I recommend dealing with the owner if you have a problem or concern he is a great man.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic, Engine repair

This is a great place to get routine maintenance repairs and more done. If you have an Audi or VW look no further I have had great service with these guys. It's not always easy to find a good honest mechanic that specializes in German cars.

These guys are great! They have worked on two of my cars and I couldn t believe the honesty and integrity they had. I was stranded and one of the guys even came to the parking lot I was in to make the repair. If you are looking for honest people to fix your car, this is the place.

I've worked with MGA for several years now. I travel 100 miles/day for work and they've kept me going through two VW Passat TDI's, a CC and an Audi S5. The S5 is my most recent ride, so the only one that is currently under 200k miles. As far as I know, all the others are still going. They've saved me thousands over the years vs. trips to the dealer and do a better job without sticking it to you. Their shop is not along my daily flight path, but is well worth the little extra drive for peace of mind. For someone that relies heavily upon their cars and spends as much time in them as I do, I don't leave them in the hands of just anyone. If I don't do the work myself, it's MGA. Thanks guys!Services: Transmission, Steering & suspension repair, General repairs & maintenance, Engine repair, A/C installation & repair, Air conditioning

I went to Robb for a leaky sunroof in my 2015 Golf, after having been quoted $4500 for a replacement at a different body shop. He was able to find a replacement and make the repair for less. He did a great job on the repair and made additional fixes to help reduce the chances of this leak ever happening again. Robb was prompt, kept me up to date on what was needed, and serviced the car at an extremely reasonable rate. I would recommend MInnesota German Autowerks to any VW or Audi owner, and will continue to use him for any of my Golf concerns.

I was a customer and I too would give them zero stars. They had my car for three months for a transmission swap that should have taken 12 hours standard book time from volkswagen. Over charged and customer service was horrible. I wasn't gonna post but after four other people I know complained about them just in conversation I figured I would try to help the next person from being screwed over. Do not use them. My car still has the same issue it had when we brought it in.

I found out about Rob last year when I shuttled a friend out to pick up his car. I was considering selling my 2008 Passat wagon as I had lost faith in it. There were some mystery sounds that started after having repairs done at the dealer. The car also had an engine oil leak that the dealer said would cost $1500 to repair. Rob performed a free inspection for me, and was able to identify 4 major issues from the dealerships shoddy work He was able to rectify all those , address all my open issues and diagnose the engine leaks and repair it it for a total of $900.He also informed me that my car was eligible for warrantied rust repair even though the dealership in the cities told me it was not. On his own time he took pictures and sent them to a dealer in St. Cloud who then put in a warranty claim with VW and then performed $4500 of rust work on my 11 year old car for no cost to me.As long as I own a VW I will always have it serviced by Rob. He is honest, fair, experienced, and he always takes the time to explain what is going on with my car in a way that I can make informed decisions. Best mechanic ever!Services: Steering & suspension repair, General repairs & maintenance, Engine repair, A/C installation & repair, Oil change

I've been working with these guys for a few years now. In all that time, I've never been unsatisfied! They treat you like a friend, do great work, and they don't over charge or anything like that. I've bought a couple cars here as well. All in all, great guys.

This shop has a great selection of used and new parts on hand. If not they have a fairly fast turnaround time if they need to order a part for you. Pricing is fair to boot as well. Friendly staff and the owner is very helpful to assist in anything air cooled vw. Great place.

Purchased 07 audi a3 about 2 months ago. Needed coil pack which they said they would tend to. Within a day after driving it home it started to misfire again. My mechanic said the coils installed were mismatched, the spark plugs were off brand, & whoever had been changing the oil was doing a sloppy job. Last week the piston seized in the head. Looking at over $2k in repairs. Buyers beware. Get a second opinion with any car purchase from MGA, and anywhere else to state the obvious.

Great service, very reasonably priced. Staff are knowledgeable & patient in explaining the mechanical problems and recommending practical solutions they won t suggest you fix something unless it truly needs fixing.
