Got overcharged on a battery. But it was my own fault because I wanted to just get the car running. Once I got the car back, it was still dying, got the battery tested and it test as bad. I was told by SE Auto that they somehow put a bad battery in, unbeknownst to them. No problem- they put a new one in. About a year later, my alternator went so bad it killed my battery. I called and asked about the warranty on the battery & whoever answered the phone had the biggest attitude saying an alternator can t kill a battery which is completely false. He then said he s not replacing my battery again and even though there s a warranty on the battery, he ll lose money. The first time you guys sold me a bad battery! How is that my fault? I d rather just buy a battery elsewhere.Reply to owner- you told me I would have to bring the battery back: I told you I couldn t do that because the car is not running. You told me that you would have to test the battery. You and I both know if I would ve brought that battery back you wouldn t have taken it because you were complaining about losing out on money as soon as I called. Even though the battery is on warranty. You say you ve decided to give me the battery but never told me that. What a liar.

I had an absolutely wonderful experience here! The guys that helped me were extremely kind and friendly. I went in for a damaged front bumper and my car was able to get in very quickly and was done extremely fast. I have nothing but good things to say!

I had a wonderful experience using SE auto for my rear brake repair! They had excellent customer service and went above and beyond from the second I dropped my car off. They were quickly able to identify the issue and even discovered another potential issue that they alerted me of. They clearly laid out what was/wasn t a safety concern and there was no pressure to get unnecessary repairs done. They were able to get my car repaired the same day I dropped it off. Their pricing was extremely fair and they even did a few extra services for free. I m so grateful had such an easy experience and will definitely be using them again.Service: Brakes

I recently moved to Minneapolis and needed a place to get repairs/maintenance done on my Honda. This team does EXCELLENT work. They are honest, fair, and want the best for their customers. I needed an emergency repair and they were able to help me out in a timely manner. Would definitely recommend!!

Southeast Auto Service is where I've taken all my car repair needs for the past 3 years. Had my car checked this week for battery issues, and very appreciative of their work. Bill is fantastic and in general the staff take the time to explain the work done, and answer questions you may have. Highly recommend them; especially convenient if you work at the U of M.Services: Electrical, Battery

I like this place.! I brought my car in for a soft brake pedal and Bill took care of it. I had the car back in two days and now feel safe driving again. Bill came out of the garage when I picked up the car and explained what they found and what they did, the price was reasonable, as quoted, and they even repaired the windshield washers. The owner is personable and my sense is that he's very trustworthy. Living as I do in NE Minneapolis this garage is a little inconvenient for me, but with service like this I'll always find a way to get there.

Guy and Bill are the best team! We have taken multiple cars here over the years and they are friendly, helpful, and go the extra mile. They'll often fix minor issues if they come across them while working, at no charge. We've always had our cars back in record time, with no further issues after they fix them up. Highly recommend this shop!

I had a really good experience. Went in convinced I needed new brakes and admitted I didn't know much about how cars worked, wasn't experienced. In short, would have been easy for the shop to just sell me a brake job. Instead he was super honest and told me my brakes look great and I didn't need one. If you're a young woman and you get nervous going to the mechanics the owner is really friendly and seems to have great integrity. Felt like I was handing my car over to a favorite uncle or something. I'll definitely trust them again the next time I need my vehicle serviced.

The mechanics here are always very up front about what repairs are essential, which ones can wait, how long you can safely push off a repair, and how much things are going to cost. They're good at answering my often questions without being condescending or impatient. I'm always surprised at how fast they turn around my car. Most importantly, they always call before making any decisions. I just went in for a brake job after finding out that my rear brakes were about to go. They called and said my front brakes could use replacement, too, but they could wait another few months if I wanted to save up money. I appreciate that they didn't just do a full brake job without calling me, even though when I dropped it off I didn't specify which brakes I wanted replaced. In the past, they've called me letting me know that they didn't think the repair I requested was worthwhile, saving me hundreds of dollars that I was able to put towards a newer car. I usually have to schedule a repair or oil change a few days in advance, but my car has always been ready the same day that I dropped it off. They also have an option to drop off your car after hours the night before your appointment, which is very convenient. I've been going to SE Auto for years, and I wouldn't trust my car with anyone else.

This place is awesome!! Seriously - they re going to be my go-to auto repair shop from now on. Called them in the morning and told them my serpentine belt flew off while I was driving. They said they could take a look at it and told me to get it towed to the shop. They were able to replace my serpentine belt for me IN THE SAME DAY and charged a normal, fair price for it too. It s a relief knowing you have an honest mechanic not trying to upcharge you. Love this place!!!

Ended up with a flat this morning after my tire came off the rim. Threw the spare on and gave this place a call since they were nearby. Bought two tires and was done the same day! They were able to fit me in and have the car finished up very quickly. I am very pleased with the speed and service of this shop. They were honest with me and are very reasonably priced. This place is trustworthy!! Had my vehicle in for suspension work and one of the parts failed. I put the car in storage thinking it was the other side that needed work. Even tho I was 6 months over due on the warranty he replaced the part for free and got it done fast! The fact that they stand by their reputation for great customer service and honored the customer to me is the mark of trustworthiness!

I m such a big fan of this shop and the guys who run it. They re helpful, honest, friendly, and seem to genuinely care about my Subaru, my safety, and my budget. They ve given me great advice over the phone even when I m not bringing my car in. I live just a mile away and have brought my car in for all kinds of issues, from big to small. I highly recommend this shop.

Bill and Guy are awesome! The trustworthy mechanical knowledge and quality work from SE Service is a treasure to have in our neighborhood. They saved my wife and I thousands over what the dealership would have charged over the lifetime of routine maintenance on our VW Passat, and that was a finicky car!We now have a Subaru Outback and they do a great job with this car as well. A few weeks ago I dropped it off for an oil change and asked them to replace the tires because we ve had the car for four years and winter is coming. They called me later that morning to let me know the oil change was done and that my tires are just fine. They had a quote for a new set but honestly the tread and tires were in great shape and it really isn t time to replace them. Folks, that s the kind of honesty you only get from a friend.Bill and Guy just fix what needs to be fixed, you are given options if appropriate, they do quality work to factory specs, and they are friendly people. No matter how busy they are they will take the time to explain what has been done to your car when you pick it up and make sure that you are happy. I stand by my statement, they are a neighborhood treasure.

Best auto shop I've ever been to! Had some issues with the tire pressure light and they quickly fixed it. They didn't even charge me for that. Bill and the other guy are very kind, professional, and knowledgeable.Would recommend 10/10

Bill is awesome. He took the time (and EXTRA time at that) to figure out what was wrong with my car even though it meant eating costs on his end. Very kindly explained everything that I was being billed for and I can't prove it but I swear he even filled my gas tank for me. Can't recommend this place highly enough!!!

I have had very good experiences every time I ve brought my car in. They re taken the time to explain maintenance they suggested and they charged a fair price. Staff is friendly and I didn t feel judged despite knowing very little about cars. Your car is definitely in good hands!

Honest guys that do great work and don't overcharge, which can be hard to come by. It's the only place I'll bring my car. They were able to save my family thousands of dollars in car repair bills by being honest about what was actually wrong with the vehicle, after being lied to by the dealership. They're friendly, respectful, and not condescending or curt. Great place!

My grandmother's car was towed to South East Auto, pretty much dead on arrival. Which we were told with no frills or bs, just sympathy and kindness. It was sort of a mess dealing as a go between with older relatives, but the process was so much better because the car got taken to this awesome shop. When we requested a tow receipt we received it with a stamp already on it!! I have been telling all my friends to go here and check out this shop. My 2005 Jeep Liberty finally had accumulated enough issues for me to begrudgingly make the decision to have a mechanic look at it. Southeast Auto Service came highly recommended by my business partner who had used their services within the last three months for his vehicle. I'm happy to report that I shared the same excellent experience that he did in dealing with Bill and the team.Given that there were several issues I wanted investigated, I provided a list of each problem and the symptoms that I had been experiencing. Bill addressed each issue and explained what was happening that caused it, what would need to be done, and a quote for each part of the repair. He specifically did not do any work to the vehicle knowing that it was approaching the point where it might be best just to scrap it and move on to a new car, but he gave me time to think about it and answered any questions I had. After some thought, I decided to go the repair route.Whew, it's like driving a new car. Even though we started by doing only part of the repair now and I'll be bringing it back to them in the next month or two to do the remaining repairs, I feel safe on the road again. They discovered, upon beginning the work, that there were two other parts that had worn out and were causing the symptoms I described and replaced these parts without charging for labor (how many mechanics will do that?).In summary, Southeast Auto Service is a small shop run by good and honest folks who don't deal in BS. At no point did I feel pressure to do the repairs or give them my money, and it felt that Bill truly wanted to help me make the best decision in going forward whether that meant hiring them to do repairs or scrapping the car and finding something new. As a mechanically disinclined person I could not have asked for a better or an easier experience.Thanks guys, I'll see you soon for the rest of the repairs!Gunnar

SE Auto offers some of the best (if not the best) vehicle care and customer service in the twin cities. Bill and Guy are friendly, knowledgeable, and more than helpful. They always go the extra mile for their customers and I'll always bring my car to SE first for repairs!
