Nick was flexible with his schedule and made time to do a full brake and rotor job + oil change on my wife s RAV4 at a time that worked best for us. His pricing was fair, and he was fun to chat with.

I brought my car in to be diagnosed because the front driver side was beginning to vibrate while going over bumps. I handed my keys over at 9:30AM on a Monday and received a prompt call back ~30 minutes later.They explained in detail that my struts were a bit worn, but not in detrimental condition. They advised that I take some time to decide as to whether the costly repair would be worth it in the long run for my ownership of the vehicle. They charged a very small fee for diagnosing the issue.Overall, I appreciate their fast response time, clear and concise explanations to the primary problem (not making recommendations to fix secondary problems), and general transparency regarding parts & labor costs.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Highly recommend! Couldn t get my hood open, and Nick got me in very quickly for an appointment. He fixed the problem quickly and was very friendly and communicative. Would come here again.

I wish I could give Nick and his team more than 5 stars. Absolutely great people and honest mechanics. Also- very fair on pricing. Charged me $100 less for brakes than everywhere else I called and also what the dealership quoted me. I came here based on the other reviews and for the pricing and so happy i did. They will always be my first call now.

My car broke down a few blocks away from Isle Auto Repair, and I am so glad they were nearby! I needed a new alternator. I called the shop at 8am, got my car in by 9am, and after confirming that the alternator was the issue, the guys at the shop were able to get a new alternator ordered, received, and installed all before noon. The price was extremely reasonable, too (way less than I was expecting). I highly recommend this place! Thank you!

I was having issues with my vehicle and wanted to find an honest, reputable mechanic. After Google searching, I found this place and I was not disappointed. I called and explained what was going on, and the man I talked to was very polite and explained what he thought might be the issue, but said he would do some research and call me back. Within 20 minutes, he called back and let me know that it was most likely a Chevy-specific computer issue within my car that a dealership would have to take a look at. He said he didn't want to have me tow it all the way there just for me to have to tow it somewhere else if he couldn't do anything, so he suggested a nearby dealership and told me what to ask them (I'm not very car-savvy). I really appreciated his honesty and straight-forwardness in letting me know that he wouldn't be able to help with that issue, rather than making me get it towed there and looked at just to make some extra money.Even though I never actually took my car to this dealership, I'm beyond impressed with their integrity and honesty and will definitely call them first when my car has issues the next time. Thank you!

I drive Fords, so I have been in here a lot over the course of the last 4 years.Isles Auto is the shop that your parents took their car to when you were growing up. Nick and staff are honest and efficient. They will take the time to talk you through the repair and the options that you have, I have never received an upsell or been charged for unnecessary repairs. The shop price is very reasonable compared to dealer repairs and often times my bill is less than the quote.Nick really takes the time to research issues that you are experiencing before he starts any work. The result is that the problem is solved with the first repair, instead of blindly trying fixes until one works like 'the other guys'.

Nick and Tony gave me sensible and honest advice. My car was kept warm in the garage and was sent home with cardboard to keep an eye on the leak. Will return with any auto issues and highly recommend!

I had an exceptional experience with Isles Auto Repair. Nick, the owner, is both knowledgable and honest, and it was apparent pretty much as soon as I started talking with him that I was in good hands. He quickly diagnosed and fixed what was wrong with my car, he didn't try to upsell me on fixes/parts I didn't need, the cost was cheaper than average, and his turnaround was very quick.If I could give 6 stars, I would.

What a great experience I had today! I arrived with no appointment, they immediately took me & my truck for a test drive, quickly followed up with a diagnosis & estimate, and I picked up the truck within hours! The whole staff is friendly, very knowledgeable on all makes & models, and very honest & affordable in their quality work! Thank you all so much for your help!

I have never met a more honest mechanic. I took my car there once last summer and he told me "you can spend the 550 it will cost to have me do this, but it's really unnecessary." He even had me ride shotgun while he drove it and explained what was making the noises and why those noises didn't indicate any major issues. I was floored. I didn't get the work done but I didn't forget how honest and helpful he was. I'm on a road trip right now so before we left I took my girlfriend's car to him and he test drove it then he called and told me his recommendation which was two new lug studs, two new rotors on the front and a rotate and balance. He did that plus an oil change and it cost 249 and he had it done in one morning.

I rarely write reviews for any type of business, why? Because I think good service should be standard but Isles Auto Repair might be the best auto repair gem in the Twin Cities. For a while I was taking my car to other various places for work done- this time around I decided to check local and glad I did. One of the biggest worries when you go somewhere new, or to an auto repair place in general is worried about getting charged too much, being mislead, or the work is just plain bad. Not the case this time - the work was done quick with great quality, they even went so far to address some other issues for free, not to mention the SAME repair work was quoted as twice as much nearby. These guys are the best and I'll be coming back here for sure. THANK YOU!

Honest, straight forward, fairly priced, quick access, and to be honest, just fun to banter with while trying to figure what s wrong with the vehicle.I know my experience will start with a quip from Nick about my explanation of the problem, and end with me with my vehicle fixed efficiently and at a fair price, and leaving feeling confident with who I worked with.

I was headed on a cross country road trip, New York to Oregon, when I noticed I was out of oil here in Minneapolis. I stopped by Isles because it was nearby but it turned out to be the best possible experience. They were very honest with me, showing me where I had an oil leak but also acknowledging I'm in the middle of a big trip and probably don't have an entire day for a repair. I was given great advice on how to handle the leak and told to have it repaired when I reach my final destination.I was apprehensive before going because I know I'm pretty vulnerable with all my belongings in the car I clearly desperately need right now but I was treated fairly and respectfully without and hesitation. So relieved! If I was a Minneapolis resident I would continue to go here for all future auto needs.

Super honest and knowledgeable. I thought my Prius needed front brakes and they performed a very simple fix for a nominal fee. Also adjusted my rear brakes.

I can't say anything about their car service because they never answered the phone in the several different times I called. I figured I would give them a few chances by calling at different times but they never answered or called me back after I left a message for them. Strange way to act if you want new customers.
