Brought my car here for some work. Very impressed with the customer service and work that was done! I m always very cautious with mechanics but these guys were amazing! I ll definitely be bringing my car back for any work that may be needed.

I'm disappointed it took me so long to find these guys. I spent years taking my car to an automotive chain for repairs and maintenance, and each time there would be some frustration with them either trying to overcharge me in the middle of the job, or doing poor quality work.Not the case with Hawkins Automotive. I only had a battery replacement this time, but that is a more involved task on a 2017 Mini Countryman. Nick was awesome. Not only did he have the lowest estimate for the job, the actual price came out to be slightly lower.They are easy to communicate with, honest, transparent, and EFFICIENT. They even went above and beyond in getting a couple of smaller tasks done at little to no cost. I think I have a regular mechanic to go to from now on.

I ve been looking for a great auto shop in Minneapolis since moving here in 2018 and I have finally found one I trust! I had a great experience going in for an oil change today. Brian is the friendliest guy and was honest in his report of what they found in my car with no pressure to purchase anything just awareness. Will definitely be bringing my vehicle here again the future!

Just had an alignment done here. Great service, hard to find Honest mechanics. Truck drives straight as an arrow now. Highly recommend!!

Solid reputable clean thorough organized neighborhood auto repair. Yes, they charge $90 or similar to diagnose a check engine light. You get satisfaction and peace of mind by having an honest assessment. They get busy, too. Another sign of endorsement by local customers.

We love Hawkins! Brian is the friendliest office manager. He kindly and thoroughly speaks the language of car in a way I can understand. :) Mike and Nick are also super kind and helpful. My husband and I only go to Hawkins and have been very satisfied with their service and professionalism. I have been using Hawkins for the past 30 (thirty) years. I have always been happy with the service. I have never had to bring the car back because their work did not fix the car's problem. I have always been respected. It is a simple and delightful joy to go to a place where they actually know you and remember you. The staff feels like friends. There is trust. A coworker and another shop (that a different coworker had suggested) both referred me to Hawkins for a major engine overhaul. I drive a 2009 Subaru Forester. Subaru engines are generally much more difficult to work on vs other car makes and the work I had done (head gasket, timing belt, water pump, etc.) are complex jobs which usually cost upwards of $3000. This is critical work to keep a car running safely and well.I am glad I trusted Hawkins with this work. They did a great job and my car runs better than ever. The price was well below what other local shops had estimated and the additional work that was done at a more than fair price (and a great deal since these were opportunistic fixes or general maintenance with little extra labor).I've worked on my own and others cars in the past so I have a decent technical understanding of what a job like this entails. I was originally pretty happy with the service, but I am having 2nd thoughts. I had my serpentine belt snap on me and these guys were able to change it at a decent price but due to a loose pulley the belt snapped again a month later requiring me additional repairs. A loose pulley was something I paid Hawkins to check so these additional repairs may have been avoided. As a single woman it s difficult to find an auto shop to trust. This is hopefully a fluke and not common practice.

I've been going to Hawkins for years after being referred to them by a friend. The quality of their work and advice is excellent. In particular I like their honest approach to repairs - a clear explanation of what needs to be done and why without any upselling. As a small business owner myself, I appreciate that they are locally family owned.

Was referred to Hawkins by a friend who had given them RAVE reviews. So here is another one! My Chevy Equinox had terrifyingly stalled as I was crossing traffic, but no check engine light popped up. The call to get an appointment felt super welcoming; like Hawkins really wanted me as a customer. I waited in the comfy customer seating area while they worked on my car, they kept me updated and gave me an honest assessment of the potential situation. Bottom line, I drove away feeling reassured, feeling that I had received excellent value for money and knowing I'd found my forever auto repair place! I will be back guys! This place has amazing customer service! They diagnosed what was wrong with my car and when their quote for a full repair was out of my budget they helped me find lower cost temporary solutions all while being super kind and understanding. I really felt like they cared about what was best for me not just their bottom line.

I took my car to Hawkins and they successfully diagnosed and explained the issue my car was having, which ended up being quite serious. They absolutely went ABOVE AND BEYOND in how clearly, honestly, professionally and thoroughly they handled the repair. These guys are honest and truly have integrity, even when it means more work or expense on their part. They take pride in their work and do it right. They are also incredibly courteous and welcoming. I've been going to Hawkins for my routine car maintenance for years. They do a good job, for sure, but I keep coming back because they're always so nice to me! I don't know anything about cars and am completely content with that. They are always willing to explain things when I have questions, but mostly I just trust them to give me their advice and direction on how to take care of my car. Super friendly and affordable. Zero silly/dishonest upsells or snakeoil nonsense. They also put up with multiple last-minute reschedules on my end. No issue using requested OEM fluids either. I can t recommend this place enough. They were so patient and kind while working with me to track down exactly what part needed replaced, and they were informative about their process, which I really appreciated. In the end, the service was half the price the dealership quoted me at. Wonderful service, and people, and pricing. *chef s kiss*

I have been coming to Hawkins for 19 years - since I moved to the neighborhood. Someone recommended them back then, and I haven't gone anywhere else. They are a great group of guys, super friendly, with fantastic service and very good prices. Anything from an oil change to new brakes to figuring out the strange noises my car makes. Wouldn't go anywhere else!

Above and beyond service everytime! They are so kind, fast and amazing I almost want to keep this place to myself, but truly worth the drive to keep coming back. Honest and fair pricing, plus if you get something stuck in your tire you get to keep it afterwards. As a used car owner, I've been happy with their repair work for years. After describing one of my car's problems to Brian, he realized that it might be from a bad part that could still be under warranty. He made sure I got the warranty coverage I didn't even realize I had and saved me a lot of money. When I was considering buying a used car, I took it to them to get inspected first. They found one significant yet fixable problem and gave the rest of the car a clean bill-of-health. When I took their report back to the dealer I got the problem fixed for free and was able to make a good car purchase with peace of mind. Brought my car in with a flat tire. A couple hours later my tire was patched and ready to pick up. Price was great as well. The staff was very friendly and courteous. I will definitely be back when I have more repairs. Highly recommend!

They fixed my truck but used a part with the same flaw that caused my truck to break in the first place. I asked them about using an OEM part before they did the service but they assured me the part they use would be fine. Several thousand miles later, the symptoms leading up to the issue have returned. I didn t pay a good chunk of the value of the truck to have this fixed only for it to go bad again within a couple years.

HAWKINS is great! We've gone to them for years and then this time we brought in a used car we bought. They fixed loads of stuff going on with our car. Some things we were concerned about, and some things we were surprised to learn. The main thing was cracks in our drive and timing belts (!) that they replaced. But they also diagnosed a set of complex electrical problems (internal lighting and door lock security key remote recognition) which they sleuthed all down to one little fuse. Works great now! They gave us a good oil change, rotated our tires and repaired one of them, the list kind of goes on and on. For your safety, check that your vehicle is maintained frequently, and when you do, go to Hawkins! This shop was recommended to me by a friend, and I'm so thankful. We go out of our way in order to get our car fixed here. They are ALWAYS friendlly and honest. They always come in lower than their estimate and are honest in what needs to be replaced/fixed right away and what can wait. They fix things super quickly and I'm ALWAYS pleased with their service.

I have been going to Hawkins for years. The other day, I went to get an oil change. When I walked in, all three mechanics up front were not wearing masks. I cancelled my appointment and walked out. They do good work but I cannot go back due to the disregard to the health of others. Be aware of this if you have immune issues or concerns regarding Covid.
