Our alternator went out and we were able to drop our vehicle off the next day. Our final cost was almost exactly what we were quoted! Outstanding customer service. Knowledgable and transparent. Great communication and speedy repair. Brought our car Friday and got it back by Monday despite them being closed on the weekend. They even offered us a tow reimbursement if we have to have our car towed for any reason within the next year up to certain amount. Thank you Nick and everyone at DJ!

Very good service. Received same type of service as my last time at the Range Rover dealership.They are very open about recommended services and up front pricing without being pushing at all.Having been in the automotive business for many years, I would recommend DJ Foreign Auto to anyone needing service on their Foreign vehicle.

I would give them more than 5 stars if that was a thing. They have helped me, repeatedly and patiently, to deal with my temperamental smart car. They got it running after I was convinced it was gone forever. They are competent, responsive, kind, and even made a recommendation to another shop to get our Subaru fixed, which helped us out a ton. If my jerk of a car decides to die on me again, I can always use the roadside assistance I got with my most recent repairs, and have my smarty brought back to DJ for more work. It's a huge peace of mind to know that I don't have to haul my smart car to the dealer in Rochester MN -- having a local mechanic makes all the difference. Brought vehicle to them for 2 reasons - check engine light and brakes squeaking horribly. They gave me a long, detailed list of issues - some to fix my complaints and others as suggestions/recommendations. After $8,000+, check engine light still lit up and brakes still squeak. New diagnosis for check engine light was going to be another $1,500+. Brakes were under warranty; but have been back 3rd time and now with new diagnosis (for same old problem). If I am wrong at my job, I fix it or face problems with customers and they don't return. They offer now solutions other than keep finding new problem and charging me more.

The staff was very professional and the shop was clean and comfortable. I was walked through the process and my questions were answered clearly and directly. I appreciated the clear reviews of the problems found, and the photos of the problem areas. All that information made it possible to make the best choice as to what items to prioritize and address. They found the problem that I was having.I truly believe they through a very highQuote that didn't really make no sense. It was 3700 plus dollars and tax. I call around I'm getting a price of 2200 and 1500. I feel they didn't want to take on the work and through a high price at me to run me away. I waited almost 4 hrs for an inspection. They were giving a code, it wasn't no need to wait that long to tell me a suspension compressor was bad the code clearly tell you that the problem. At least give me heads up it's going to be close to a 4hr wait.and don't give me that my speaker wires was in the way.I got the compressor off without any struggling it's a straight forward job.

They fixed my problem but...They took 24 hours longer than their estimated time of completionThey forgot to put a piece back on the car and had me waiting longer than expectedThey had me come in a day after my appointment because they didn't have time to look at my carThese guys do okay/good work and I would trust them with my car again but they need to be more realistic about their time management and they need to do a more thorough job and not forgot to put the car back together just as they took it apart.Sidenote: my friend went here a few years ago and they took 3+ months for an engine swap when they estimated 3 weeks. So just by the pattern here you should take their estimated date of completion with a grain of salt.All that aside, my car is running wonderfully.

I asked for a diagnosis and was told I would get a full diagnosis. They did not diagnose it fully. They gave me an estimate of over $5k and said get this repaired and we will do it again and give you another estimate. I was very pleased with the work they performed on my 96 Audi. They were able to diagnose the issues I was experiencing, locate the parts needed to fix (which can be challenging for a car this old) my car. I was very pleased with the honesty that this shop has. They let me know exactly what was wrong with my car and where the parts were coming from and how long it was going to take and everything was detailed so that I could understand. And they delivered on the day they said they would. And the price they quoted was competitive. They got me back on the road of the day they promised. These guys are awesome! They ve been taking care of my 2008 Smart Car for over 10 years and always let me know if there are any issues with it that I didn t notice. There aren t a whole lot of Smart Cars around anymore (indeed, they told me they only have one other customer who owns one!) so I m thankful they know what they re doing. They are personable, competent and prompt. If you own a foreign car, be sure to give these guys a shot. I have been a customer for two years with two different vehicles (BMW X5 & Mercedes Sprinter) and the service is always exceptional and timely. They keep you up to speed with everything and send all of the details over via email for review before proceeding. The work is always thorough and the staff is extremely knowledgeable!

Was suggested here by a close friend who used to take his m550 and Range Rover here all the time.Very friendly guy I talked to named Nick; after telling him what my oil temp was pre bringing my car into getting an inspection, I got my car back after the inspection and he told me everything was fine and that the oil temperature that I told him before was nothing to worry about and that my engine temp was fine. Still they looked over my car and showed me some suggested maintenance the prev owner missed that I wasn t aware of and pointed out a broken brake pad sensor and some other things that I didn t even ask them to look at. After everything was done they sent me an email of their inspection results with pictures and everything neatly and conveniently described. For 150$ to get a peace of mind along with some suggestions of work to get on, I de say every dollar was worth it.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

Had a great experience with DJ Foreign Auto Care! Called in the late afternoon to inquire about a door actuator repair for my BMW, they provided a great rate, warranty and said they could do it the next morning and have it back to me by midday. I dropped it off the next morning, was given a complimentary ride home while they repaired it, then when it was time for pickup, they called and offered a complimentary ride there. Service was great, timely, and the repair was fixed! Thank you!

I see all these five start reviews but my experience wasn't that great at all. I brought my car in two or three times telling them I had just purchased it and really didn't know what was wrong with it. First off, the bash mini coopers like your always going to have problems. Fair enough they fixes an issue with my serpentine pulley system which was tearing up, but there were screws missing from a couple of key places on the top of the motors. The air-filter housing, all the screws were stripped, letting air get in from everywhere. They did not fill or top-off or even warn that fluids were not filled and were very low, leading to a thermostat issue . No break fluid, nothing topped off. All in all I spent about $1,600.00 there and one bill was for them look at my timing chain because I thought the car was loud. Came back to say it looked fine. So, I then took my car to Wilson's off highway 8. They charged me like $450.00 to get the car where it is now, running in tip top shape. Fuel filter replaced, relay that was making the car hard to start replaced. Fuel Pump replaced. They did a ton of diagnostics and were quick and friendly. The mechanics their care. I first went to Wilson's when the Thermostat was replaced. I called DJ Foreign Auto, even took it down there and they had no clue why the car was running the way it was. Went to Wilson's, he didn't even charge me, he hooked up a diagnostic, cleared the error codes and everything returned back to normal, just by resetting the computer. I called DJ Foreign Auto to update Darwin, cause I like him. But the guy who answered the phone was like "Oh that's Wonderful!!!" in a sarcastic and really rude way. Save your money, go somewhere else. Besides, all they really want to do is break, engine, and coolant flushes.Update, because its important. I had also taken in the mini-cooper to see if there was a timing belt issue. The diagnostic for which cost $750.00 and they had to replace the valve cover gasket after performing it. That gasket disintegrated within two year with maybe 15k in driving and ended up in the engine compartment. Just ridiculous.

I am moving 800 miles away but will return once each month. As long as my Rover is drivable I will wait until my return each month so that DJ's can do the work. Need I say more. Darwin was absolutely fantastic and patient while working out the repairs required for my Land Rover. Very upfront with pricing estimates and ended up coming in below the estimate due to used part availability. 5/5 cannot recommend enough to come here! Having previously tried another foreign shop closer to my location south , they cannot compare to DJ s and well worth the additional drive time!Services: Transmission, Engine repair, Transmission repair

I brought my Jaguar XJL in and they did a fantastic job on fixing it. They diagnosed the problem so fast and had my car ready the next day. Compared to the dealership prices, these are the best prices around if u have a foreign vehicle. I look forward to doing business with this company. It just makes me feel so good that I don t have to go to Jaguar or other places anymore knowing I can bring it here. Thanks again for all your help.

I needed to have a simple window regulator replaced. I got quoted over $700 for it which put it a few hundred less than BMW dealer. I noticed the price for the regulator part was more than 5x the part price so i asked if there was a cheaper option which i was told there was if i went with non-BMW OEM. I decided to go with it as my car is a 2006 and i figured a non-OEM would still do the job.I received the car back and the windows were stuck and didn't work properly. They took a look at it again while i waited and they did work but was told that the performance might be inconsistent due to non-OEM BMW part. I was also told that they couldn't clear the computer warning signal because i didn't use a BMW OEM part. I WAS NEVER TOLD THIS PRIOR TO THE WORK. I WAS NOT INFORMED OF THE PROS AND CONS PROPERLY. I have since noticed they didn't put the door panel on properly and so now the door won't unlock as the lock hole doesn't align properly. Considering the cost ended up only a few hundred less than the BWM dealer (dealer with OEM part, BWM loaner vehicle, +complimentary full check and car wash) i regret it, the few hundred saved was not worth it, and should've gone to the dealer. Will not be coming back. What i will say is that Nick was responsive, did give updates and call backs, and was overall professional. They offer ride service for those who don't have someone to help them drop off their car. Always a great experience from the front office to the mechanics. Took my BMW 550i in for what I thought was a transmission issue which turned out to be a tire issue. They took the time to look through all the potential issues over a couple days, all for the diagnosis price they quoted me. I've used them for two other repairs in the past and they've always completed the work for the amount quoted and on time.Highly recommended

DJ Foreign Auto is the best service provider I've had yet. Quick, friendly and very thorough and informative. They did a great job to diagnosis the problems I was having and also provided recommendations for work that also needed to get completed. The pricing for labor and materials was reasonable and much better compared to dealership pricing. As it's a family owned business Darwin and Jen take great pride in creating good working relationship with their customers. So if you own a euro model vehicle, want to support a local great business who have integrity and honesty - choose DJ! You won't regret it.
