* Quick, quality, friendly guys *I had my ignition punched and window broken. These guys worked with my insurance seamlessly and had the repairs done within a few days. I also just like their vibe - laid back, friendly, local shop feels.

I wish I could give this place more stars than this !!! I m from the Duluth area and was down in the cities when my car broke down. Not only did Pok stay open late to try and fix it but when it turned out to need more parts and wouldn t be done until the next day he drove us to a car rental place. Pok was so kind to us and explained everything that needed to be done to our car. I m not from the cities so I was going into it all blind but I couldn t have asked for a better repair shop or a better person then Pok. Thank you for everything

I always had the absolute best experience at this business. They would go out of their way to fix my car as cheaply as possible, and everything was fixed correctly the first time I went. They helped me maintain my car while I was in school for three years and working as a driver for Pizza Luce. Outstanding business in the Whittier neighborhood! They even would let me bring my own parts

Friendly helpful and accommodating staff. I wish car repairs didn't cost so much tho. I was quoted $1100 to get my air-conditioner fixed because it'd been >1 year since it went out and apparently it being out was causing knocking sounds when turning as well as overcompensation for other parts.I'll be going back again for car issues though I might shop around first, since I'm not mechanical savvy.

This is the second time I've brought my car to Clausen, I was VERY impressed with the oil change price, I feel as a woman, I get taken for a ride a lot by mechanics, so my husband will take care of it for me. Not only were they super helpful and friendly, when it was time for some major repairs (headlight, struts, replacing all tires) I came back, they quoted me almost immediately, did not make me feel bad for not being able to afford all the repairs right away. And turned around and completed it same day. I will continue to come here permanently!Services: Tires, General repairs & maintenance, Vehicle Inspection, Oil change

I have nothing but great things to say about these guys. Pok was kind and informative and wanted to make sure I understood the scope of work and why he was doing it. He went as far as to show me on the vehicle what was wrong and what he was going to do before anything. After the work was complete he showed me everything and wanted me test it to make sure it was working and I was satisfied before I even left. They were able to get me in quickly and got the work done in a super reasonable amount of time. Super friendly and up front staff. Felt like I was given quality work and information about the condition of my car. Were very nice, offered water when waiting several hours for a tow truck from an outside company. Will be returning for work on my vehicle. These guys have helped me so many times throguht the years and have been fast and efficient and great to work with... this is a community staple and has helped so many of us in grim times... thanks to these guys they got me back on the road in time for Christmas on my most recent repairs... I can't thank you guys enough for your help... best automotive service shop I've dealt with in years... thanks guys and happy holidays!!! 40 min oil change for $35 and did a quick fix for a recessed lock button at no charge. Great no-frills auto repair. The mechanics may be a bit abrupt on the phone but are nice and quick! Would go again

John was so kind and very quick! Brought my car in after it died on me, very close to my apartment so I was able to walk home and walk back. After I got it back, my car decided to poop out on me again, immediately brought it back the next day. He put a lot of time in trying to figure out the issues. Didn t charge me the second time I came in. I m a young women and don t know too much, I didn t feel taken advantage of at all. Very reasonable prices as well! I went to Clausen's after driving all the way from Colorado for a squeaky belt. It ended up being a very easy fix, and they didn't even charge me for the service. This is absolutely the best auto shop in the twin cities. I have had work done on my car twice by them and both times the have been communicative, quick, honest, and affordable. I tried to get the same issue fixed at another auto body shop and they were going to charge me $670 to fix an OEM part that was under warranty and another shop quoted me around the same price. Clausens was able to do it for free. They were also incredibly fast both times with the turnaround. I will always take my car here because I know they will give me a reliable quote and get the work done in a timely manner.

My car was extremely loud and rumbly when I'd accelerate and I did a little research before bringing it in to Clausen for the first time so they could take a look at it. They called me back within the hour and gave me a quote to order and install a new flex pipe from the manufacturer. I found this to be a pretty average price and told them to please go ahead and move forward. After only one day they gave me a call back letting me know it was already done and they found a cheaper part that only ended up costing me $300+ less than the original quote. I know a lot of garages would not have been upfront about a lower price, especially with a young woman. I would definitely recommend Clausen.Services: Exhaust, General repairs & maintenance

Called other car mechanics for brakes and they quoted me $570 only for the rear tires. I called Clausen shop and spoke to Pok and he said $300. Took my car in right away sand it turns out the dust shield broken their and I didn t need my brakes replaced. Honest, friendly and professional service! I can't say enough good things! This place and guy were amazing! He was able to help a small town girl out in a big city in a pinch.My car was pouring gas out the bottom and he was able to tell me what the problem was in less then a hour, got thr part the next day, fixed the car and I was able to be on my way, to 4 hours back home.The added plus, he drove me to the hotel I was staying at, so I didn't have to get a taxi, walk or Uber.The rate was reasonable for the work he had to do.

I went to this mechanic for years and trusted them- which can be hard for a young woman, mechanics can take advantage of you quickly. A few months ago, I referred my boyfriend here. They worked with him in ways they never had with me and charged him noticeably less for services I have them do regularly. Never going back again. Service: General repairs & maintenance

These guys are great. I've been going to them for a few years. Recently the AC in our car kept going out. They didn't charge me extra when I had to keep bringing it in and always got back to me in a timely matter. I came in for an emergency break fix it was stuck and my dash light was on.The charge was $600 they did not fix by e-break (emergency break), but rather by rear breaks; I have now paid for labor and parts that I did not want. They manually tugged the e-break cable to get the light off my dash but I noticed the e-break was not fixed when I immediately tested the release mechanism again.They said they would fix the issue but I have been following up for 30 days with no recourse.Go somewhere else in the Twin Cities, my recommendation would be Nghia's Automotive Services Center in Northside: 2525 N 42nd Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55412Service: Brakes

Waste of time and money! I went to Clausen Service Center because it was near my home. The only good thing is that they looked at my car quickly. The bad news is that they lied to me. They first offered to look at my car for free. After a quick look over, they quoted me 1000 - 3000 dollars in repairs! They said my timing belt was broken, and I should just junk my car. I decided against having them fix it. Then they charged me 90 dollars to look at the car, which they originally said was free. Part of the fee was parts, PARTS?! I went to a reliable mechanic after and it turns out my car was just flooded! I would never trust Clausen Service Center with my car again in a million years!

Been here the first time and everything was perfect. Came with a jingly noise that I didn't know where it was coming from. The mechanic took it for a test drive, identified the problem to be my old brakes and gave me an estimate, everything for free. I made an appointment for the following day, car was fixed immediately and friendly. The estimated cost was exactly what I paid and it was half of what I would have paid at the dealership. Thank you!

The guys here take good care of my car. Their prices are fair and they don't recommend work you don't need. I started taking my car there a few years ago and even though I've moved away since then, I still take my car there because I trust them.

Have had a wheel bearing and an a/c compressor replaced here. Before I had my compressor replaced I asked them to jump my broken compressor. They did it for free and told me that I needed a new compressor. After jumping my cruise control didn t work and my emergency brake light was always on. I brought it back in worried that the jump had broken my ECU which would have totaled my car. In 10 minutes they found out that my bake fluid was just low and the car had disabled cruse control as a safety precaution. They topped off my brake fluid and didn t charge me. Overall great service and charges the lowest rates for service in the area. They use good parts for repairs as well. I m a very cynical person but they have earned my trust so far.

I've been going to Clausen's Service Center for 20 years or more, and they are consistently so honest, trustworthy, ethical, gracious, and reliable that I still go there after having moved to Saint Paul, whenever possible. Down to earth and good hearted, they are generous with their advice and time when they can be, and will always try to get you in asap. The mechanics really know what they're doing. They keep their prices as reasonable as possible. I am enriched to have Clausen's Service Center in my life, they are GOOD PEOPLE. They sold me a great car too!

What I appreciate most about honesty is you can easily find it elsewhere than at Clausans , these guys are at it again trying to upsell things that aren t pertinent. I had a construction shirt on brought my car in they acted okay. On the other hand My gf brings it in they try to upsell her . Really in this day and age as though people can t read the reviews and think this might not happen to them but here we are. Don t take your car here. The misogyny and shady car dealership facade was played by them as though they are here to help and to me that is so used, abused and extremely irritating because they are overestimating themselves and underestimating the customer so yeah that s it s that s all I have to say. Never going back again and hope they get their act together cause there are so few honest mechanics around.

They lied to me. I went in for a oil change. I mentioned that there was a squeak, maybe a rock in the brake. They said they would check it out. They called me 30 minutes later and said that my front brakes hardly had anything left. I was surprised because I had 8 mm (out of 12 mm) left just a few months ago. I ask him how many mm were left on the pads. He didn't answer, and instead said that I only had maybe 2000 miles left, depending on how I drove. So, I went home, jacked it up, took off the wheel and discovered my pads were fine, 7.5 mm left, more than 60%. So he lied, straight to my face. He wanted $280 to do the front brakes when there was 60% left.
