The actual mechanics of the car problem is irrelevant. But, if you must know...after spending $1,500 on repairs at Autopia, the problem was nothing more than a bad grounding strap ($8.00 part) for the battery. Stan thinks 'he's the smartest guy in the room'. He doesn't realize he's not, unfortunately for him. And, when Stan was caught in his lies and became aggressively defensive, his choice was to throw the race card at me (yup, pretty pathetic). Stan's a crook and a liar and should read lots of 'help improvement' books. Avoid Autopia like the plague unless you need only a tire fixed and have no other choice. Thank me later!

I have a 335i 2010 hardtop convertible. I'm having a hell of time trying to find a good mechanic. I found one.,! Actually back in 1987, before they owned it. I brought my Porsche to this establishment. This sho has been around for a very long time. This business is actually staple with in the community. This man is a skilled mechanic. Along with the skills of being a mechanic. He also carries the skills of being able to communicate. Which goes well if he needs to explain to you the issues with in your auto. Which in turn allows you to have a better understanding. Give this business a try. Being a mechanical engineer myself. I trust this man with everything I got. Christian

I wouldn't recommend anyone to this place. If you want to deal with unprofessionalism, this is the place. (Stan is "NOT" the man ) don't, I repeat DO NOT take your vehicle there!...

I just don't go there anymore. Had them change my serpentine belt 2 years ago before a big roadtrip and they left some screws loose. This caused for a cover behind my tires to loosen and get shredded as it hit the tires. I noticed this halfway through my trip as I began feeling vibrations on my steering wheel. Eventually, this cost me about $60 to fix, not bad, but when I contacted Autopia they told me I could bring receipt of my cost and they would reimburse me. I got back into town and they told me that they hadn't removed any screws in that side of the car, WELL THEN WHO ELSE?!?! they never reimbursed me anything and well, I never went back. I used to go to Autopia for typical services like oil changes, but now I prefer Valvoline. Do yourself a favor and look somewhere else. [Below are pictures of the screws as found by the windshield wipers.]

I came to Autopia because it's just a few blocks from my house and I had a flat tire and the dealership I usually go to couldn't take care of it for a number of days. Stan took care of it in a timely fashion and for a great price. And he didn't try to sell me any additional BS repairs in the process! Great service, would return.Services: Tires, Oil changeServices: Tires, Oil change

Poor customer service. I come for appointment while parked on their parking space the tall black man who claim he is the boss of autopia told me to remove my car and park on the street while he parked the space with his car. Very disrespectful and rude. To my experience this isn t the right place to go. Stay away

Autopia is a terrible business that regularly rips off and takes advantage of customers. They told me I needed a whole list of "urgent" repairs, and even tried to charge $350+ to install 6 spark plugs. They were slow, service was poor, the waiting area is terrible and the owner refused to make it right when I spoke with him. The worst part? They recommended I get a transmission flush because the fluid was very dirty. I just had that flush done about 3-4 months prior. It was an outright lie. PLEASE do not bring your vehicle here. Go anywhere else. Even the stealership is a better option. Trust me, don't make the same mistake I did.Services: Transmission, Air & cabin filter replacement, General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic, Auto engine tuning, Brakes, Oil change

I loved working with Autopia. I accidentally put diesel in my car, but it was fixed in less than 24 hours. The owner is incredibly nice and helpful! He went above and beyond - even gave me a loaner car to use overnight and helped me load my bags back into my car.I see a review below mentioned an issue with masks - when I was in this week, he was consistently wearing a mask and had a sign on the door asking for every customer to use one (even though there is no legal mask mandate), so I felt very safe.Service: General repairs & maintenance

I've read a lot of bad reviews on here, but my experience was fantastic!I went in for just an oil change Saturday afternoon, and while I was there I asked for a quote to change the spark plugs. The quote was hundreds less than the dealer, and I asked if they could do it that afternoon while the car was in the shop, no big deal if they couldn't. Jake at the front desk went back and asked the mechanic, and the mechanic said he would stay late to do it for me!Then Jake proceeded to give my fiance and I a ride home!I then later spoke with the mechanic when I went to pick the car up and even tipped him! I've never met a shop willing to do this before. My experience here was fantastic and everyone was very kind and helpful, they offered me discounts where they could and charged me the exact quoted price, no surprises.I will continue to go here, considering I never experience what others have. I have worked on both sides of a counter, and realize some situations aren't just the shops fault...Thanks for the fantastic experience today guys! You made my day!

Charged me over $100 for an oil change.Jilted manager wasn't happy that I didn't want anything done except an oil change despite the fact that I made an appointment for an oil change. When I arrived to pick the car up and he told me the cost, I said, "$107?!" he went into a tirade about how I wasn't supporting local businesses and the neighborhood because I declined what services he recommended. All I wanted was my car that I was picking up for the weekend.

They did not tighten the oil plug back in correctly. My car was running funny so I brought it to my dealership. (Wish I would ve went there in the first place) come to find out they cracked my oil pan too. They took no accountability. I will never go back.Service: Oil changeService: Oil change

On January 5th they improperly replaced my break pads. A few days later my caliper dislodged and ruined the brake pads, broke the ABS sensor, and snapped the break line. The other auto mechanic said I was lucky no more damage was done (to the car and myself). After entering into a conversation about getting reimbursed and them agreeing that it was their mistake, they stopped answering my calls. They are nice people and I assumed they'd do the right thing, but haven't yet. I will delete this review when they respond to my calls.Service: Brakes

Autopia always delivers a great experience. They are truthful, upfront, and knowledgeable. They give an estimate and stick by it. John, Kim, and the rest of the team are capable employees who will take your car problems and resolve them with speed and long-lasting results. I ve taken my car to a few auto shops, but this is the only one I go to now. Best in the business

I have been extremely disappointed with the work I had done at Autopia. Due to limited time and resources, I went ahead and dropped my car at this shop last fall and paid upwards of $1500 for needed repairs. In the last 9 months, both repairs have failed-- one new part stopped working altogether and a second repair almost seems like it wasn't ever done. While the shop is willing to look at the car to determine warranty coverage, my overall read is that they will not take responsibility for what appear to be poorly done repairs and will not honor warranties but will quickly point out "new problems" to be taken care of. I will not come back and suggest you look elsewhere too.

Thank you to Stan for the years of service. We moved to the suburbs and started getting our work and oil changes done there and went to the dealership; NO MORE. Now I drive 20 min to Autopia to see Stan and team. Outstanding service, timely, polite, and honest.

I had an oil change here and am glad I did. Great neighborhood shop, with fast and very friendly service. The owner is very kind and considerate. I watched him deal with several customers as well as myself in very professional and caring manor. He clearly really cares about you and your car getting the best service possible.

I took my car in for an oil change. Steven at the front desk said it would take two hours minimum. I thought that was odd since I can do it in my fathers shop in 30 minutes (My parents live far from the cities so it is no longer worth doing it myself). I dismissed it as I thought maybe they were busy (at 7:30am)...However, after I got it back, the clutch no longer worked like it had when I brought it in. It was now slipping. I brought it back in and they said they would check it out for a fee of course.I drive this car very delicately. The clutch was fine before I brought it to them and now it's worn out. There is no explanation for how that happened within the two hours they had my car.The oil change was fine and they failed to vacuum the inside like they had said, but the outside and windows were washed. Overall a terrible experience and I wouldn't trust them with my car and will share this experience with all my Minneapolis friends to warn them.

I have a very good experience with Autopia Uptown. I called to set up an appointment to have my brakes replaced using a coupon I got in the mail. I dropped my car off in the morning and received one phone call in which the mechanic asked if I wanted them to replace an additional part related to the brakes and explained the situation in detail. They took no issue in my declination and called back an hour or two later to tell me my car was ready for pickup. Everyone I spoke with/met was very kind. All in all, great experience!

Went in to have the breaks checked out, and got a quick response that was able to diagnose a serious need. They got it fixed same day and were upfront and clear about the pricing. They also returned the car cleaned which was a nice and appreciated touch.

I have mixed feelings for this place. The first mechanic I worked with was very helpful and had great customer service, but once my car got left overnight and I was dealing with the morning mechanics I felt like they weren't being fully transparent with me. I don't understand cars so I asked them to explain the problem to my friend, but they rudely refused and said I would have to relay the message myself, which turned out fine but I found to be odd and off-putting in terms of service. I have never experienced this before and will be taking my car somewhere else next time.

My husband gets along great with Stan! He's always super considerate and provides awesome customer service. I think the prices are a little high, but it's great service and hard to find honest, caring mechanics. They also recently got loaner cars so that makes it even easier. Stan's your man!

Went there for an oil change and tire rotation today. I have been before with my previous car and was told I needed thousands of dollars or work to be done and some of it was very urgent. Took it somewhere else and they said nah, not true . I only brought it in today for a simple oil change and tire rotation thinking what could go wrong with that? . I came back to pick it up and found a gouge out of my rear bumper when I saw my car in the lot. I mentioned it when it went to pay. I know 100 percent that there wasn t one when I dropped off my car. I was told, without anyone even looking at it, that it wasn t them and it was just because they washed the car that I now noticed it. It was just covered by dirt. They said how could we have don t this when we only did work on the front end and the damage was to the rear bumper. And no questions were asked of employees and not intentions made to follow up. Not sure what annoyed me more....the fact that they rejected it was them, or the fact that they treated me like I was just dumb. Won t be back again. Not even for an oil change. And then there was the part where they said we are honest, so if we did we would have told you . This car may not be new, but it is new to me and I was trying to keep it nice. Really bummed out. Lost value and it just looks bad now. First time I ever brought my car to be fixed since I bought it. Bummer, cause this was a really convenient location for me. Never again.

Don't do it! Dropped my car off for a simple oil change on the day I had hoped to move. They told me it would take about an hour, and then said there were a few issues and it would be two hours. After two hours, I returned and was told that they had just finished the inspection and my car needed $3,000 in repairs ASAP or it would surely die. Obviously I didn't do that, and my car drove fine for another year and a half until I sold it (and even then, there were zero issues). I had to wait yet another hour to get my car because they were doing various things that I hadn't requested. Overall, my simple oil change took 3 hours and cost $82. I now go to Green Line Auto and Tire on University and would highly recommend it!

Autopia emailed me asking for a review so here it is... I'll never go there again. After making an appointment for an oil change, dropping my car off over lunch and waiting for half an afternoon, they called me and told me that they were "declining to provide service on my car" because they couldn't get it started (you're a repair shop). Frustrated, I walked a couple miles to the shop and within a couple minutes had it started and running fine.I have an older car with some issues but it still gets from point A to B. I just needed an oil change before leaving town that day for the weekend. With the car running fine outside the office, I asked again to please do the oil change because they were my only option. I was again told no and to try somewhere else. After wasting my entire afternoon, there wasn't time for anyone else. All shops were full for the day and I had to leave town for a 6 hour trip.Well, after leaving me in a jam I will be trying someone else... for good.

I would give 10 stars if I could. Stan is great, he was clear about the work that need to be done and the cost of repairs. I have total confidence that the repairs done on my Jeep were done with the best quality. I definitely recommend to give this place a try.

This is not only a pleasant and friendly operation, but a widely capable facility that regularly handles a wide spectrum of cars from modern Domestic and Import to the older and classic versions of them. The owner is there to greet you and provide guidance on your needs and concerns. He also rides herd on the on going repairs and it s not unusual for him to be tackling some of the exotic or unusual tasks.Services: Exhaust, Tires, Steering & suspension repair, General repairs & maintenance, Electrical, Auto engine tuning, Engine repair, Brakes, A/C installation & repair, Oil change

Absolutely horrible experience. Definitely the worst I've ever had with an auto body shop.I brought in my foreign car for a routine maintenance check. They said I needed nearly $2000 in repairs and maintenance. I paid since I didn't know any better.Afterwards, I did some research and sent the itemized receipt to another shop for a second opinion. They said they wouldn't have done 90% of what Autopia did, but that they didn't like to bad mouth another shop. So they suggested I go back and ask about why Autopia decided to do what they did. When asked, Autopia used the exact keywords the competitor told me to be wary of. So then I asked to speak with a manager. It's been over two weeks and no one has called me back. I've called twice to remind them. Twice! In two weeks! And still no response. These guys are dishonest, shameless, and gutless. They won't even call me back to discuss the charges. And every time I call or go in, the "manager" is always "busy". Despicable. I'm definitely considering small claims court if they don't offer to make this right.
