My Audi A4 wouldn't drive. I took it to TGK in maple grove where let's just say a lot was wrong. I was unsure if they would be capable of working on my European car. Not only were they able to do it but they did it in record time. I had to have my turbocharger replaced and my timing chain serviced. Lonnie was extremely helpful in explain everything to me so i could understand it. My overall experience with this TGK was phenomenal. I will recommend these guys to my friends and family. Plus now i finally have a shop i trust in my area. Great experience.

Great experience. I appreciate their honesty. Went for an oil change, TGK called me and asked are you sure you want an oil change because you only drove 2000 miles. They didn t have to do that. Love their customer service. It s my go to place when I need something done on my Honda.

My first experience with TGK was wonderful. They replaced my brakes, rotors and flushed the brake line. However a few hundred miles later my new brakes locked up and started smoking out of the divers side rear tire. When I brought the vehicle back(second experience) on a Thursday morning they told me they would look at it right away and give me a call. I called a few times over the next two days to check on the progress and was told I would get a call back. I finally get a call back Friday afternoon minutes before they close, telling me they haven't looked at it yet but will first thing Monday morning. Monday morning they finally tell me the brake seized/locked up and the repair will be $1,800. I asked since your shop flushed and replaced the brakes recently isn't this covered under your warranty. The manager (very rude, different person from my first experience) says it's not covered under their warranty because they don't know how it happened (this is caused by water in the brake line. Most likely from the flush they did a few hundred miles earlier) but the brake pad will be covered. Five days after I dropped the car off and $1,800 later they fixed the problem which was cause by their faulty service when flushing and refilling the brake line. I get mistakes happen, but a good service station would stand behind their work and commutate with their customers.

Service advisor Josh was able to get us in quicker than our regular shop. Didn t over promise but definitely over delivered. The diagnostic included a thorough look over and was able to give me a heads up on some additional items to take care of down the road. Sent me texts with pictures, recommendations and status updates. Very fair pricing and service was completed faster than expected. They are also a friendly group of guys here. My truck's starter went out - they took it in around noon and had it finished by 5pm, and provided a list of recommendations accompanied by pictures of their findings. Everything was clearly communicated. I will definitely be taking my truck here moving forward - excellent service and experience! Thanks TGK!

I was extremely dissatisfied with their serviceWe made an appointment a week in advance, set a time and indicated the services that I needed.I arrived 5 minutes before the indicated time and handed over the keys. I asked how long it would take to fix my car problems, but ended up coming back 2 hours later and they hadn't even started working on my car.when asked why my car had not been done yet, the administrator replied that another car had arrived and was being worked onWhen I asked why they didn t call me and notify me that another car had arrived, they said that they promised to call me when the car was ready, and not inform me about the changesthat is, they work with another car while I agreed on a meeting time with them a week in advancein the end they offered to leave the car until the end of the day so they could do their jobsince I didn't have time, I refusedthe meeting was scheduled for 1 pm and they decided that I had time to sit with them until 6 pmI do not recommend using the services of this company

Wow - update to my original review I had the most horrifying experience possible with this store - please do NOT go here or give these people your money.They "fixed" my clutch for $2500 and the next day/within 200 miles (was needing to drive cross country) it had already failed due to them not putting my a seal on car back together correctly, leaking oil everywhere.Their mistake ended up completely ruining the work they had just done AND it destroyed the car's transmission in the process.There was zero empathy, thought or care in the process with them.Do not go here if you want good work done, there is a Midas across the street.Service: Vehicle Inspection

Day 1: Had my at oil temp sensor flashing on dashboard. I also asked to do an oil change while the car was in. I Payed $175 in diagnostic fees and no oil change completed. They returned the car saying that it was fixed just for it to start happening again within 30 minutes of me starting my car back up.Day 2: Dropped car back off at 7am and they called me just before 2pm saying they need another $175 for more diagnostics to figure out if it s the wiring or the valve body needing to be fully replaced. They said that if the issue is worst case scenario a valve body replacement would run me $2800 on top of the $175 I already payed.I called the Subaru dealership and they quoted the repair at $1800. I asked TGK why they re $1000 over the price of the dealership and additionally charging me for 2 diagnostics ON TOP of that price. They informed me they use oem parts . But so does the dealership.. they then offered to lower the price to $2400 which is still $600 over the dealership and $700 over the price of a transmission repair shop located 4 miles away.Day 3: The valve body does need to be replaced but they won t be able to start on it for two more days. It seems like they just wanted to get an extra $175 diagnostic out of me to put towards the repair and try to incentivize me leaving the car there until they complete the full repair.Conclusion: I was a repeat TGK customer and every time I come in here I seem to be given the run around and an attempted upsell. I had been without a car for 3 days and I drive for work and can t afford to not have my car for two more days. They seem to have no urgency coupled with crazy high markups beyond any reason. If you want them to take almost $400 from you and have nothing but time wasted in return this is the place for you.

I have been to TGK Maple Grove for service twice. Both times were great. Friendly, knowledgeable, excellent work, nice waiting area. Reasonable prices. You have a customer for life.

Amendments to original review:In the six visits I've had to make to TGK with my 2019 Subaru Outback since March 2023, I've experienced the following mishaps:1. Didn't have me on the schedule after I had called and set up an appointment...twice.2. Replaced two wiper blades...one of the blades was broken and had to be replaced again.3. They discovered a leak in the oil pan which would take a day to repair...when I brought it in for the repair they called me three hours later to say the car was ready because the oil change was done...but they didn't repair the oil pan or do any of the other items they were supposed to do including transmission service. They apologized that they missed those services and wanted to keep my car over Labor Day weekend, but I told them I would bring it back on Tuesday for repair and would need a loaner car.4. The loaner car had not been cleaned for a long time...it had a message reading "Tire pressure sensor fault" which I was told was not a problem and while I was driving it, the "Check engine" light came on, which I was also told they were aware of. I would have refused the loaner, but they didn't have anything else.5. While replacing the oil pan, they broke an air conditioning line (Sept 1) and, although I would not be charged for the repair, they were not able to get the part from the dealer until mid-Oct.6. While waiting for the air conditioning part I noticed a plate size stain under my car. I brought it in and it turned out to be the transmission drain plug leaking (from transmission service?).7. Finally brought the car in for the air conditioning fix (10/11), which was estimated at four hours. When I called after five hours, I was told that the tech had been having a problem with the install, but that they finally figured it out and the car would be ready in an hour. Two hours later, I picked up my car and was given a $75.00 rewards discount.Given this information, it's up to you if you want to do business with them. I will NOT be going back there unless it's necessary for warranty on their work.Original review: Because I've decided not to take my car to the dealership any more since it's out of warranty, I set up an appointment with TGK in Maple Grove. I was positively impressed with my first visit. They were far more thorough than the Subaru dealership. They provided me with a detailed description of services rendered and services to consider for the future maintenance of my vehicle. Appointment was for 2pm about 10 minutes after we got there they drove it in and we were done in about 1 hour for oil change. They recommended a new battery and flush the coolant. Not a upsell just a recommendation. Will use again.

I went in for an alignment and Josh Wohlers(service advisor) did an initial alignment check, and my truck was in spec. He told me that an alignment wasn t truly necessary. It is great to find an honest shop and a great service advisor in Josh.

Friendly staff with quick and honest service. They did a great job and I never felt pressured to buy anything that I did not need. The follow up email with photos of my car's brakes, fluid levels, etc. was a really nice touch as well. I usually perform my own maintenance and repairs on my vehicles, but in this case, when my check-engine light came on (a 2007 Explorer with 183,000 miles), I didn't have the time to diagnose or repair it, so I decided to bring it in. This was my first time at TGK Automotive in Maple Grove. I was highly impressed with the initial inspection report I received, complete with pictures and recommendations on-line. This gave me an opportunity to actually see the issues with my vehicle as if I were standing there with the technician. Yes, I could have done some of the repairs myself for less money, but with a vehicle this old, you never know what you're going to run in to. I was very pleased at the thoroughness of the inspection and agreed with the recommendations and repairs. There were issues I never would have seen, or could have fixed myself. When I received my vehicle back, I inspected all the work done by the technician (Branden). It was complete and done correctly. Thank you to everyone at TGK for a job well done. I will definitely be bringing my vehicle back for other items I can't do myself.

Erin and David at TGK Automotive / Maple Grove are awesome! Being new to the area I was apprehensive with who I could trust with my car but they both were very thorough explaining auto repair jargon, making sure I understood what needed to be done now, what probably should get done sooner, rather than later, and what could wait. No high pressure sales; they are both straight shooters. I felt very comfortable dealing with them and it was an all around great experience! 2 thumbs up!!Service: Vehicle Inspection

I recently went to TGK Automotive for a general service and an oil change. I was very impressed with their affordability and the quality of the work. The staff were very knowledgeable and friendly and even provided refreshments in the waiting room. Another great thing about the service was that they updated the service records to Carfax, which was very useful. All in all, it was a great experience and I highly recommend TGK Automotive!

My 2012 Hyundai Sonata's engine completely seized while under the care of a different, nearby auto shop. My husband and I called TGK and originally spoke with Terry, who promised us a free consultation. We were able to tow my vehicle over to TGK and they evaluated the engine for free. Unfortunately, they couldn't figure out why the engine had seized but the manager, David, investigated further and figured out that our engine had a good shot of qualifying for a free engine replacement. David connected us with a Hyundai dealership who was able to get my vehicle in right away and replace the engine for free. Without David, we wouldn't have known that our engine qualified for this recall - we are so grateful! Thank you David (and Terry) for your excellent service and for going above and beyond to help us during this stressful situation! We appreciate the honesty and hard work that TGK did to serve us best. We will be going to TGK for all of our future oil changes and car repair needs.

It's not the repairs or even the customer service. I think I was just unlucky that there was a lot of change over there when my vehicle initially came in, so it took 3 months to get all the repairs done and fibally get my car back. Having said that, David and Mike were super duper helpful in getting everything I needed and giving me updates as soon as they could. It was a roller coaster, but I'm thankful to them. They did not let me down in the end.

If I could post zero stars, I would. I had my son's vehicle towed here due to a breakdown and was told my son's car needed a brand new engine. They quoted $4400 for a rebuilt engine and 8k for a new one. Luckily, I chose to tow my son's car back to his city of residence only to have the dealership inform us the ENGINE WAS FINE and DID NOT NEED TO BE REPLACED! His warranty covered the issue and all that came out of pocket was $70. Get a second opinion!!!Service: Auto maintenance
