Do not trust this man. Not saying he doesn't have decent cars on his lot. He might. I bought a car from him about 2 years ago. Nothing but problems. I realize I should have been more careful as a consumer. Learned some lessons. The car started giving me problems before I even got home. The check engine light came on about halfway. Dealing with that was a year plus ordeal. Had the fan replaced, as that what was throwing the code. They traced the wiring and couldn't find anything. So I just drove it without a functioning fan. After a while, we were driving home and the lights started dimming and the batter guage dropped. Car died, had to get it towed back home. Brought it a local mechanic who had it on and off for about a month. Finally discovered that there had been a breathalyzer and when it was taken out whoever rewired it did a subpar job. The point being either they just rewired it themselves or cleared the code before I got there. I stopped and started it 3 or 4 times before the engine light came on. Which is how long it takes to reappear after clearing the code. Trust me, I had to do it several times. And I'm sorry, but inspection? Really? I went to check the tires to see if I should get new ones and the tires on the drivers side were 10 years old. But just the drives side for some reason? So mismatched as well. I have pics of the tires because I really couldn't believe it. I'd say long story short, but...Anyway, last week brought the car back to the shop because it was super wobbly. Frame shot. Completely rusted. They wouldn't let me drive it home. I did get $300 as a trade in though. THOROUGHLY inspect any vehicle before buying.

I just bought my first car from here a couple weeks ago, a blue 2001 Ford Ranger and I absolutely love it. I have no complaints whatsoever. It s a clean title. It was squeaky clean inside and out of the car when I went to go test drive it. The check engine light came on during the test drive and after letting Bruce know that I was interested. He had the mechanics take a look at it right away. NO CHARGE! There was some hail damage to the front windshield and they took care of me then too. The employees here are absolutely amazing. Nobody was rude. They were and are extremely welcoming and really kinda make you feel like a part of the family. This is for sure the place where I would recommend to a family member or even a stranger without hesitation.

I gave 1 star so viewers read this first (because people always read the 1-star reviews, usually skip the 5-star reviews) -- these guys are FANTASTIC. I called up asking for a junker or anything possible, and they went above and beyond, offering suggestions of what kind of transportation would fit what I need. These guys really don't screw you over. They want you to get the best deal for your situation and circumstances. Thank you !!!! (And yes, I got a U-Haul rental, thank you!!!)

I went looking for a new van, found one that met all my requests at North Star. Got friendly service right out the gate. They made it happen for me when it took a couple days to make the financing work ( not using their financing). After drinking it for a couple days I found a few things I wanted looked at. Not a problem, they got me in right away. Took care of my list no issues. When I look for a new car again I'll look at North Star first and also recommend to anyone looking for a used car .

I have been a customer of North Star Auto for many years. They have always treated me with kindness and respect. They explain all the work they have done on my vehicles and the pricing. Jeff, Jerry, and Tim do a great job and they take good care of my vehicle when it is in for repairs. Even when they have been booked up, they found time to squeeze me in for a break job, or oil change and I appreciate their dedication to their jobs. Thanks North Star for doing an excellent job

I recently bought a vehicle from them and have never dealt with them before but they were very nice and very helpful and they were not pushy and didn't treat you like just another sale and try to push you into something you didn't want. The battery was no good on the vehicle I bought so they swapped it out free of charge before I picked it up. They also have a full service shop. I would defiantly go there again when I'm in the market for another vehicle. I am also very happy with the price I paid for the vehicle I got. Thank you for the great vehicle buying experience.

We bought a truck here, 1st week there was wiring issues it wouldn't start, that's understandable except there tow truck wasn't working so I had to pay $100 to have it towed, also had to bring it back 15min later because it wasn't fixed, we had a paid warranty! Few months later transmission went out and many other issues! I know used cars are a gamble but way to many problems to trust these people!

Beware! Save your time and money. I have never writen review, but I am in this case because I don't want anyone to go through what we went through. We purchased our vehicle November 9th 2019 and have had nothing but trouble. Had to bring it back twice and as of now the transmission still isn't working. Will be spending more $3,600 in over all repairs. The car had been in the shop as much as we have been able to drive it. The the owner pretty much tells you that's what you can expect when it's a used vehicle. Note: found out after the fact vehicles aren't inspected thoroughly there. Stressful and expensive experience. The owner will come back with a comment about us. Use your own judgment.

Bought a van. Few weeks later as the weather got warmer, a shudder was happening when accelerating and a EGR sensor came on. I brought it to my local repair shop and they said someone was trying to figure out what was wrong, put in a bunch of new cables but couldn t solve the problem. So they sold you a lemon. I Refused to bring it back to them because I couldn t give them my business for not being 100% honest with the issues with the van. Repair going to cost upwards of $2000. It s the used car game. I know that. Just be warned. Don t say I didn t tell you so.

Owner and his people very nice. I was helping a friend look for a vehicle. Quality of products we looked at very high. I myself had just bought a SUV at another place on Saturday. Of I had gone up to see Jerry and his crew first I would have felt good doing business with them. Felt they were square shooters. Next time I need a vehicle he will be my first stop. Think my friend will be buying from him.P

I went into this establishment on one occassion to receive new tires on my vehicle when the Service Counter was manned by Tim who helped me find affordable tires. But while I was waiting for customer service behind another woman there she was discussing how she had just bought a car from this establishment and a week later was having mechanical problems causing her to miss work.Another occassion I had come in with a tire that you had just put on my vehicle that wasn't holding air and again I was waiting for customer service behind another man and he was saying he had tires replaced on his and his wife's vehicles and tgey were both having problems with the tires you installed holding air and you told him the same thing you told me to bring the vehicles back in to get rechecked. This isn't always the easiest thing to do when life is happening. Then on another occassion when I had to bring back 2 tires to get rechecked I was told to come in and pick up the 2nd tire it was ready but when Jeff brought me back into the shop to get it the mechanic told him it wasn't ready and needed to be aired up yet. That was when I got to see the changes in mechanics and the filthy conditions of the garage and it became clear to me that the quality of service I had originally received a few years prior was compromised by the work conditions and the service techs less than interested in doing a job done right but just getting the job done, and didn't look at all enthused about their work but looked tired and wore out.As for another occassion when I had to find a water pump belt for my vehicle after just having it serviced and being told by Jeff that we tightened it up as tight as we could and it should loosen up once you drive it a bit. But after driving it less than 80 miles the belt broke and left me stranded at a gas station for 3 days while I located a belt, which is all I expected you to do when I called and told you what happened but instead it turned into a nasty phone call with you accusing me of wanting a freebee. However, in my search for a belt I found out you had installed a low grade $8.00 belt from O'Reilly's instead of the better grade belt with a reverse v cut that is better suited for the type of pulley my vehicle had. And during my purchase of the belt i was conversing with Dave, the service counter personnel and he said his parents had bought 4 vehicles from your Northstar establishment and every one of the vehicles needed mechanical work on them after his parents bought the vehicles but because of the high cost of brake repairs they received at your shop one time they had Dave fix these cars for them. And Dave said he would never recommend buying a vehicle from your lot. And I say the same thing about purchasing tires from your garage because I have had less than a positive experience with tires on 4 vehicles and minor mechanical repairs like the water pump belt. Not to mention how I was told that 2 of my vehicles are nothing but junk and my AKC purebred dogs are rescue dogs in your efforts to belittle me and my family with hurtful words through your frustration which did hurt me because I am a single parent struggling to raise my child on my own while I'm facing numerous medical conditions and surgeries and survive life's multiple challenges as you and your family do I know as well. Bless your heart to see what your eyes are failing you.

I've had great experiences with the owner and staff here. Whenever I've needed a car, I have always checked with them and bought a couple cars from them. They have always been up front with everything and I felt confident I knew as much as they did about what I was buying. Thanks Jerry!

We needed new tires on our rv and asked them to change the oil and check the rv out for a long emergency trip we had to go on with several live animals and handicapped people. They sold us 6 new tires, and said all we needed was a belt for the water pump. As soon as we left the shop the tires started leaking air, we returned twice with tires that we had to have rechecked due to loss of air. Then the starter which they said was a bear to start cold (30 s to 40 s) went out on us the next day. I had to replace it on thanksgiving day ( no football games for me that day...) and I m not a mechanic. When we left for our 8 hr trip we drove 20 miles into our trip and the new belt they installed broke causing the rv to overheat and backfire, the muffler exploded and left us stranded on the side of the road. We had mentioned to them the new belt was squealing ever since it was installed, they said it should loosen up after you drive it awhile. We called them at 4 pm and told them what happened, that we were stranded with live animals and unable to drive it to their shop less than 30 min. away. Jerry said to call back in 1/2 an hr. and talk to Jeff who is in charge of service. Jeff said if you can get it here before 5:30 we can take a look at it, knowing we were stranded. He said look under the doghouse and see if the water pump belt is broken!!! Thanks Jeff and Jerry, what do you have to say in response to this? What would you do to make this right? We are out a new belt, muffler, and we are in a crisis due to one of us needing emergency back surgery in 24 hrs. You left us stranded in 12 degree weather with a load of live animals and major health issues overnight. I guess you guys aren t as kind, considerate, and caring as I who have been a loyal customer for the past 4 years thought you were. We had a family member who is a mechanic come check the rv at midnight, the soonest she could get to us after a long work day and an hour drive. She said the belt was not seated properly causing it to shred. She said it s very important to smell the radiator fluid and engine oil to see if it smells burnt which means there may be further damage done. After a long freezing uncomfortable night with my animals in the rv, we are going to buy another belt and put it on ourselves even though we are not mechanics since she has to work and we have to get on the road so we can make it to our back surgery appointment. Thanks again Northstar for the care and attention, hope you had a good nights rest, we have to do your job properly and then drive 8+ hrs on 2 hrs sleep. In response to your reply: We didn t want any magic tricks, just a mechanic who could install 6 new tires and check the vehicle for a long road trip, which seems like a task that any professional mechanics shop should be able to perform on any vehicle that they agree to work on. You agreed, but after bringing two tires back to your shop because they were leaking , they are still not holding air, and after installing the only thing you said was wrong with the vehicle, a water pump belt, it snapped. It is obvious to me that these tasks were too difficult for your professional auto repair shop to perform. Thanks for giving me the ability to let everyone know how well your shop does with supposedly basic simple tasks.

North Star Auto Mall is a terrific place to buy an auto. The owner, his son, the car sales manager, guys who are mechanics and the detail guy are all very understanding and will do what they can to satisfy you. Great place. Try it out.

Tbh, doesn't even deserve one. Sold me a car without informing me of electrical/wiring issues and with a coolant leak. Also, we were told we'd be called back and that never happened. Very disrespectful to someone who's bought 3 vehicles from you. Very displeased. Never will I buy a car from here again. Sorry.
