I am very pleased with the work they did on my car. I brought it in because of a service light and a bunch of codes coming up. They were upfront with what they found, they communicated with me at every step, and they were honest in only fixing what was needed. A lot of places I have been to had no problems adding a few things to the work order. It is hard to find an honest mechanic in today's world, but I can say I found one. And I will be bringing my vehicle to Five Starr Auto anytime it is in need of service. Thank you Kevin and your team for the honest service, and for getting my car up and running again.

I had been to a few different auto repair shops one did work that came to almost a thousand dollars. 3 months later the very same thing went wrong again that s when a friend had told me about 5 Starr Auto RepairThey fixed the problem and multiple other things since then. They are Friendly, trustworthy, and honest.. Those are qualities in this day and age that are hard to find.. I refer everyone I care about to them and wouldn t trust anyone else to work on my vehicle! They have always been helpful and honest with me. If you want things done right and people who actually care about things getting done right then you need to give them a chance Thank you Kevin and 5Starr Auto for all the your hard work in keeping my car running

Very trust worthy. As a woman I am always on guard , thinking auto repair services are going to try to take advantage of me because of my lack of knowledge. I found Kevin and Scott to be very sincere And just part of My team trying to get my car fixed. ..( I have a old used car that hit a deer twice. ( Me only once). They are for me and I trust them.

My 2003 Ford F150 had a problem idling in cold weather. Took it in twice , mechanics drove it around but it didnt act up. Told to bring back in a day when weather got cold. Never charged me for the 2 afternoon's they drove it around town looking for the problem. Amazing . When I took it back they found problem, gave me a estimate and stayed within it. Couldnt say enough for their honesty. Another time the same truck acted up on way home from work, pulled into 5 star close to 4 o'clock thinking I would have to leave overnight but they found the problem right away, put me ahead of a car they were working on, called parts place to make sure they had the ignition coil I needed, ran and got the part , put it in and had me out of there in 45 minutes. TOP TOP TOP NOTCH SERVICE. If you want it done right honestly and are a great price . Go to 5 star in foley. Best guys around.On 9 /11/ 23 I took my 2003.Ford to 5 star to have brakes redone. Bought 2 used rotors from Clearwater auto parts . 5 star turned all 4 rotors , installed pads and replaced a blown brake hose and had my truck done the nextday. 5 star is the only place around that still turns brake rotors .All the other shops just put on new ones tripling your bill. Kevin & scott were great to work with and I,d recommend 5 star to anyone looking to have their brakes done. Turning your rotors instead of replacing will save you HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS. 5 star is TOPS . Brakes are smooth as glass and I liked that Kevin did a follow up the next day to make sure everything was good.Tookpathfinder .in.nov 1 for a sensor that was giving me trouble. 8/24/23 We had a flat tire in Foley after exiting a construction zone. Kevin and his team were amazing. I called and they got us in immediately! Took 10 minutes and were on our way. Thank you for much Kevin and team! We are very thankful!

This is in response to Bryan Hudsons Review. Kevin did sell but is still working here and is the service writer for us. Kevin wrote the estimates up for Bryans 2002 vehicle. There is not one est. but in fact that there is 4 est on his 2002 vehicle. The first est and work that was done is that there was no freon for the ac. We filled it with freon and added dye so that the leak could be found for about a hundred bucks. the next thing that was found is that the tie rod ends and ball joints were going bad. that is about 300 bucks in labor and about 500.00 in parts. when a person changes them an alignment should be done and that's about 95.00 for an alignment. we told him about a oil leak on the timing cover. to get the new seal and fix that would be about 4 hours. He was shown the leak. It is an oil leak and he was just informed about it. the last est given to Bryan was for the Struts. When checking Struts there is no wondering if they are bad or good we all know what a bad (shock) strut sounds like and feels like. To change the strut assemble is about 500 bucks in labor and 500 in parts. We did not give him an est for 2300.00, we told him what was going on with his vehicle and gave him 4 est so he could make a good decision. If you go buy your own parts from on line of from somewhere no one is going to warranty them or take responsibility for the parts you buy. Our labor rates are very reasonable and we have not jacked up out labor rates. We gave 4 different options and did a very thorough job. I would hope that if a person does not have to diagnose the problems and just put parts in that you bring them it would be less money. Every body that worked here before is still here. Every body here holds themselves to a very high standard of mechanic excellence.

I mean, it was an oil change but they did answer a question I had about low heating issues inside the cab. The appointment to fix that will be made shortly.

Kevin the former owner was always very nice to us. He checked everything out, often times for free and always explained well what we needed done and when we needed it done. He was always kind, respectful, and never out looking to squeeze every dollar out of me. Since he has sold to new ownership we have not had the same experience. We went in there a few weeks ago knowing something needed to be fixed but not sure what all needed to be done. When the quote was done the final price was about $2300. It was extremely overwhelming and initially it was made out to sound like we needed everything done right away. We decided to buy the parts our selves and have someone install for much cheaper. Only then we found out from two other mechanics that most of the work that five star said we needed done, we did not actually need done. Interestingly enough the work we DID need some right away they didnt even notice. All in all 2300 dollars worth of work that five star wanted to do was in reality about 300 dollars worth of work that actually needed to be done. If you decide to go here make sure you get a second opinion to find out if you truely need done what they say.Revised review:First I would like to say I was NEVER brought anywhere in the shop except the front lobby. They never brought me back while they were working on it to show me anything. I was not even in the shop while they were working on it so that is a full out lie. Second is the fact that my car was NEVER filled with freon or tested in any regard. I was aware of the problems with the AC but they never performed any service on that so that is another lie. Unless he is trying to say that was the estimate but the wording is kind of hard to read in his response. Third is the ball joint. I took my vehicle to THREE other shops that told me it didn't need to be done for a while yet and that I was getting price gouged. All three shops including the one I trust now said that the struts were absolutely fine. They brought me in their shop and showed me I did not need struts. Everyone told me Five Star was just trying to get me for my money. They were unprofessional. The new 9wner doesn't have a clue about cars and was talking over Chris the whole time he was trying to explain stuff. You can tell he's the one running things for sure. So glad I found an honest shop. Don't waste your time or money!

Kevin and his crew are always fair, honest in their diagnoses, tell me if something can wait or needs to be done soon, and thorough in the repairs they make. I have never had an issue here. Kevin is a great guy to deal with. He's a great example that you can do it right, be honest, and run a successful business. I've had almost everything done to our vehicles at Five Starr over the past, well, a long time, ever since he bought the business from the previous owners, for whom he worked as a mechanic and fixed our vehicles himself back then, too!Services: Tires, Auto brake repair, Tire rotations, Engine repair, Wheel alignment, Brakes, Auto maintenance, Auto brake replacement

Good mechanics are hard to find, and these guys are amazing! They were honest about the repair I needed and didn't need, instead of just selling me all of it. I REALLY appreciated that. While running errands today, noticed my vehicle check engine had come on...had my son give 5 Starr Auto a call to see if they could work me in...Yes! ...and more...had a diagnosis and needed oil change and estimate on soon needed repairs...then on my way again, very pleased with the service. My family has done business with 5 Starr for many years....and yes, will continue to....I appreciate the trustworthy labor and the friendly small-town conversation ...(a senior, Foley, MN resident) 21 March 20178 July 2020.....the old buggy needed servicing & I chose 5Starr Auto even tho I now live far away from Foley...I trust their work & appreciate & like to support family businesses .....I like that 5Starr will aces & estimate & inform the customer of recommended needs for repair....I say a good thank you & April 2022 Repairs & tires needed badly!I am a much satisfied customer of Five Starr Auto & Repair, Foley MN. I would have NO good reason to seek out another shop. Local business is good & I believe in supporting them. A GOOD car CARE team ALL around!! Thank you!

Dropped my car off after hours and they had me ready to go the next day. They even washed my car which I wasn't expecting so that was a nice surprise. They were super nice and professional on the phone as well. I give Five Star Auto a 5 Star rating. No pun intended. :-)

Each time we use 5 Star for our 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee we are completely satisfied. Both Kevin and Chris re really professional. Our grandson is in the cities and can only be available on Friday. Each time the work is completed in that day for which it was scheduled. They work around our schedule which makes life for us just fine. They take lots of time explaining what needs to be done as well as what was done. It is great to have someone here in Foley that we trust completely. Thank you Kevin and Chris. Great work done at Five Starr with great prices. I get my oil changes done there, have had multiple services done including brakes and wheel alignment, and my car is still going strong. I've recommended friends and family and none have been disappointed. I hope you give them a shot!

Had no heat in my loves car for weeks in all this cold weather, brought it to Five Starr Auto Repair and in less than 30 minutes they had the heat working and very pleased. Value at it's best, it was very affordable. Great service, great team!

I have used 5 Starr Auto for the past few years to maintain and do the repairs I have needed on my vehicle. Replacing coil packs in the engine, replacing rotors, replacing the heater control face panel in the dash.There is always something to maintain. Kevin is always upfront about what is going on and how much it is going to cost fix. He's fantastic and 5 Star is our family's auto shop of choice.

If you need work done on your vehicle, this is the place. Whenever there is a problem with one of my vehicles this is the place I go to make sure I get things done right, and at a fair price. They are very easy to work with and willing to find you the cheapest or highest quality; whatever you are looking for. They make sure you are happy when you leave.You did an awesome job as always. I appreciate you helping me out with the price. I am physically disabled, financially disabled, very unlucky, but knowing a place like Five Starr Auto Repair, makes me feel like I at least have some luck.< It has been a while since I wrote a review because I can not take away any of these words that I have said. What I can add is a little personal but the world should know what kind of guy Kevin Star is, after all you want someone you can trust working on your vehicle. I have been suffering from severe depression for about 6 years. Times had gotten tough since my body broke down and I became disabled. Needing my car fixed fast so I can make it to my appointments is very important. Kevin has always done his best and never let me down. I have very little money these days since I lost my buisness since I can't work. Kevin has seen me cry and was very understanding when money was an issue. We worked together to figure out the cheapest way so I could get my car fixed. Kevin has become a very valued friend. Other places would never take the time for a person like me, like Kevin did and does.There should be some kind of an award to be given to a person like that. Another good experience with 5 Star. Spent nearly a grand on tires and other stuff for my PU. Bill was a bit less than I anticipated. Service was done right and my PU was ready when they said it would be. Good location, friendly staff, fair price and good service. What the he-- more do you want.
