Brought the truck for oil change and alternator (14.8 v on dash ) , and got with almost 1000$ just for oil change !And for alternator - got bill for almost 500$And It s normal for 14.8 v for this location!!So NICE JOB -LEE !!!!!I am with GATR from 2012 , if you wanna fix your truck -bring it to Sauk Rapids location!! And I will explain why!There are some problems with Elk River location in the past but in 2017 , brand new truck 50k on odometer,elk river location make decision replace some gasket and they did , after 100mi , got low oil pressure, and engine shutdown , so I had to tow truck to Sauk Rapids ( more trust) so after 2 days the mechanic found and pulled rug ( towel) from the engine!! How they forgot towel in the engine?? After that incident I skipped and stayed away from this shop for around 5 years till one oil change . New Manager Dave approached me , introduced himself and told me that things changed there and I should give them a chance , and I did , I started use Elk River location till today .Some over charge problems were in the past , and gatr solved this problem but the customer service was very nice until today!!!!So LEE you need to learn how to listen and hear the customer and change your attitude!!!You not the owner !!!! The chances are that I will see you after one year in this location are 50/50 !So DONT BRING YOUR TRUCK to ELK RIVER LOCATION!!!

O MY GOD. Melissa in service was the freekin best. She went above and beyond in helping me get all the information I need to make my experience simple and easy. She walked outside with me multiple times in the freezing weather to ensure I had the proper directions to were to go to so I can back my truck in the bay as easy as possible and warned me about any obstacles I would face. Reading the reviews before I arrived gave me a false pretense on my amazing experience. After leaving there today my whole pre conceived idea of dealerships has changed thanks to Melissa

Went in to get a code read for a check engine light and they choose to do a full inspection without my approval charged me $830.00 for nothing told me my pumps were bad my egr cooler and turbo wanted 16,400 to fix everything went to other shop they checked found 1 bad cable to my ecm changed it charged me only 400 and my truck works just fine. You should be Ashamed for your lies

Disappointed To get washout you got to go to the front to pay first NO signs that you got pay first and then go back to the bay and get in line. First time came here to washout the trailer, didn't know got in line waited an hour. I was told to go back to the front pay and then go back to the end of line and wait again.......GOT TO GET THAT CLEARED UP

I recently went to GATR of Elk River for service on my Volvo Semi. As someone who has previously worked at dealerships in Parts, Sales and Service, the culture in this service department is close to the worst I have seen or experienced.I asked the service writer to include specific locations I had already diagnosed on an air leak on my work order and she wouldn t. Then, they would not allow me to see what work specifically the technician had completed because the Technician is going home in 10 minutes yet he was the only one that knew what fittings had been replaced.Upon billing they charged me twice for a valve even though one was clearly a warranty issue as it was a bad part from the factory.After picking up my truck, I noticed the air line on my firewall that I had originally requested to be listed on the work order is still leaking.It took multiple phone calls to the store to get a response from the service manager who was more argumentative about the situation and told me that no matter how much I was paying, I would not be able to speak with the Technician who worked on my truck.At the point of writing this I have not been reimbursed for the valve that was clearly a warranty issue, and I still have no further contact regarding which fittings the technician actually replaced.I did have a constructive conversation with Curtis Patrick the Director of Service for all of GATR but he left it in the hands of the Service Manager at the Elk River location.If you need service, go to NUSS. Avoid GATR Elk River!

We rented a truck from this company. These guys are professionals. Special thanks to Ross and Amanda. Never had a problem. They answered all questions quickly. They were always kind and respectful. It was a pleasure to work with. Thank you for your professional work.

Wow best service i have ever gotten. My windshield wiper motor went kaput on the road in heavy snow. They brought it to me when there was crazy snow on the roads and pretty fast too. Im very impressed. Definately recommend them. Thanks guys.

The moment you go in they give you cold shoulders , you approach the counter they keep talking about their dogs, you ask them questions they have no clue!!! its just ridiculous to drive from far to find this poorly managed premises so save your self time and money.. don't give 'em nor their lazy mechanics a job.. they eon't deserve it .. simple as that

I am a trucking company owner, and I own three Volvos. Every time I bring one of my trucks to the Sauk rapids location with a problem they always checked me in as soon as possible, and I never had to come back for them to fix the same problem. Now I leased a Box truck to diversify my fleet and Adam in the leasing department at Elk river location and Joe at the service department were excellent and extremely courteous with me. The box truck broke down, but the way they handled it is beyond good customer service. I will definitely recommend them.

I am a small business owner. I have a fleet of RV's. I had the A/C go out in the peak season of summer in one of my units. I called the dealer I purchased it from along with a few dealerships. All were booked and did not give me the time of day. I was referred to these guys and it was an AMAZING experience. They were also booked BUT the difference is they have awesome core values and care about customer service. They squeezed me in as soon as they could and got my repair done super-fast at a reasonable price. I can't express my thanks enough to them. From the receptionist that took my initial phone call, to the service advisor, and the techs that worked on my RV. I experienced folks that care about their job and that are happy to be there. This is rare to come across nowadays. It shows with the service and the communication that I received.THANK YOU so much GATR Truck Center!

Sadly another "Volvo Dealer" not GATR missed an issue on my DEF system and that started a chain of events that cost me over 25K over seven weeks plus 17K in lost work and huge money in towing costs. I wish I had booke down in Elk River the first time so I could have had it fixed right the first time at GATR. They have been my preferred service center for over five years but I am a long haul driver so I don't always get to use them on service. Regrettably, four other Volvo dealers did not get the issue right and one of them switched the T1 and the T3 heat sensors by accident and that cost me another 9k. GATR service found the issue in just a few hours. I was so happy with GATR service and the staff at GATR that I purchased a new truck from them. Terri in Service is honest and awesome. The price for service is fair and accurate. Kelli, the parts girl cut me a huge deal on a deer guard for my new truck. Jamie in sales put together a killer deal on a new truck. I nailed a great truck at a very good price. Michelle was fantastic at doing my loan and paperwork. The reality is GATR saved my little one truck business today. I was out of the game and down for the count, and they stepped up to the plate and hit a home run. I owe them big time and will always do business with them. Thank God I reached out to Jason Karasch and he hooked me up with the sales team in Elk River MN. Best of all the new 2020 Volvo 860 comes with in-dash TV! Omg right?

If your in a hurry go somewhere else. This place is a truck service. You have to go in the front office. Take your VIN#. Then Drive around to the back. Get wash. Then Drive around to the front to pay. They do take Com Check. They have vending machines and clean bathrooms.

I would like to say honestly this place is more than great by all meaning starting by front desk ( Conor very expert person and the part sales ladies both shifts and also the salesman white and the sales manager and end up with the mechanics are very experts in their job and very respectful and also wanna say never seen something like this before that makes feel like Volvo has to be very very proud of the teamGod bless you all guysEdwardL.l.z trucking

If your truck is your primary source of income, don't bring it here for service because you'll never get it back, they will do the repairs and charge you for it, you'll leave the lot and have to turn around and bring it back because it's not right, brought my truck in for injectors, picked it up and engine light came on again, injector codes 4 or 5 of them, same with the other truck we took there, paid a whole bunch of money and now I'm short 2 trucks cause they can't seem to fix anything, have had this experience pretty much every time we go there. Where do they get their mechanics?

Horrible service in the wash bay. We have an account with them for trailer washout for the last 2 years. They get the billing wrong about 25% of the time. Showed up today and they asked us to back sleeper truck/ trailer in the wash bay. They did not want to move the 2 daycabs out to make room.I told him we couldn't do it and he looked at driver rudely. If your too busy to service a customer then just tell them and they will come back later...maybe.I understand you cant pay top dollar for wash bay employees but at least find ones that are somewhat polite. The kids working here are young and have no idea what customer service means. Shawn is the only one that is good to work with.We were going several times a week for washouts ($54 each) but just kept having problems. They are on their 4th body shop manager since then. I suggest going elsewhere if possible.

Place is ok, I ve had to bring my truck here a few times because my company uses them. Have had to drop it off on Saturdays after they open (which isn t a problem) but my last experience I was less than impressed with the lady taking my service write up. If I had the option to go somewhere else I would.

Currently use the Elk River location for service. Tried to order a new truck from Elk River, absolutely no communication. Ended up at a dealer they have just north of St Cloud, Cody managed to drop the ball once again. I should ve gone back to Nuss.

The work they did was good, but they'll only do exactly what you tell them. We wanted the from end taken car of on our trucks, they did the front end but missed that the king pins were shot. Also lack of communication on a couple different occasions, didnt let us know when parts arrived, or when work was complete. Will be taking my fleet elsewhere from here on out.

Our Volvo had some issues which we had to bring it inSince we had Warrenty on some parts, we had to make sure that was covered before we can move forward with the repairs.Terry Krempin who s a service advisor there has dedicated a great deal of time trying to make sure that we didn t pay for things that were covered by our warranty.She spent hours and days going back as forth on email and on the phone with the claims department to achieve this.Not only that, Terry was respectful and kind towards me and my husband and communicated with me every step of the way.We couldn t ask for a better people and place to take our truck .As we add more trucks to our fleet we will keep in mind where to go for this impeccable service.MN Nice Trucking LLC.Dee and Wally

I want to say Gatr in elk River is second to none. I m a lone one truck operation. And Gatr especially Ross Dunlap has made me feel like I m the owner of Coca Cola. Ross has always had my back. We came up with a business plan and followed through with flying colors. I had truck problems and he kept my wheels going forward. He did not have to. If you want to feel like you matter go to Gatr. Also Dave who is the service manager has gone above what one would expect a person to do to help.These people are beyond professional. There customer service is old school. It s something we don t see anymore. I will forever be a customer of Gatr. They will not lead you astray. Thank you Gatr. And Ross and Dave. For not forgetting the small business matters.

Lackluster at best, I stopped for a trailer washout and it took way longer than it should have. They moved my truck without asking me if they had permission. Several service writers standing around doing nothing but making small talk. No one seemed to be in a hurry to do anything, I attempted to pay multiple times and they made me wait till after they were finished washing it out to pay. I'll drive further and in the opposite direction before coming here again. I expected better service.

Worst dealership. Had bad experience with them 2 times. Charging a lot for nothing. Did a pm there and they forgot to fill up my fuel filter, changed generator there and after couple days the belt got broken because they didn t replaced the belt tensioner and I had to stay on shoulder and wait for road service. Asked 8k for turbo replacement , I brought the truck on Wednesday and Friday next week the truck was still waiting on them with same problem...a lot of more issues, don t go there, they ll take you re money for nothing.

They fixed 2 out of 3 items. The seat no longer slides you into the steering wheel, that's a Good thing. The hood now opens, another good thing! But the blasted 5th wheel puller doesn't release. Knowledgeable front counter and mechanics, friendly folk all the way around. Oh, in the winter, bring a blanket to sit in the driver TV room. It was very cold in there. Will go back.

Worst service in MN. They charge money and don't fix the problem. Sent one of our trucks for a small air leak and check engine. They vaguely diagnosed the check engine and claimed to have fixed the air leak, one day down the road, the air leak got way worse than it initially was, but hey Gatr is Happy they got $800 for absolutely Nothing.
