I stopped in to pick up a few items on my way up north this evening. The employee who was working just stood in the parking lot talking to someone who was working on his car. I stood at the counter for 15 minutes, he kept looking at me but would not come in and help me. I finally left and walked passed him, he didn t acknowledge me at all. No more Advance Auto for me.

Terrible experience trying to buy headlights. The first worker I talked with was nice - looked up my car on the computer and told me what headlight I needed to get. Sold me the most expensive one, of course. Got home only to find it did not work. Went back to the store with a picture of why it wouldn't fit, only to be told that was the one I needed and I didn't know what I was talking about. Not sure if it's because I was a woman, but he refused to listen to what I was saying. I went across the parking lot to Auto zone and they looked it up on the computer (same brand headlight) and they told me the computer said I needed a different headlight (again, same brand- and I gave them the exact same information) Will never be going back to Advance Auto Parts after that service.

I love Advanced and especially this location. Been going here for many years and many cars. I'm not a regular- thankfully, no offense- but even though they don't know me from Adam, that's never the feeling I get when I'm there.Just yesterday on my 40-mile way home, I had the opportunity to stop at any 1 of probably 15+ auto parts stores and this is the one I chose, even though turning left out of the parking lot in the afternoon is a complete nightmare (not their fault.)Dealt with Dave yesterday, though I've never run across a bad employee here through the years. He was helpful. Knowledgeable. Friendly. He gave me the feeling he's probably an above-and-beyond type of guy in everyday life, and at work is no different. Above-and-beyond service, and I highly recommend.

Arrive 13 min before close thankful to have got there in time. Just to have them say there registers are closed sorry we cant take your cash. I'm getting sick of these places thinking because they close at 10 dont mean you get to leave at exactly using. These owners across the board need to rain in there workers.

I ve always had great service here. They ve installed wiper blades for me, asked if there s something they can help me find. You can rent a code reader for free with your Drivers License. I ve had to return a bad battery and it was replaced under the warranty, no questions asked. Prices are reasonable.

Unhelpful and rude staff. Sought advice on a simple cosmetic project and had some questions about wax options. Instead of helping me out and making a sale they just told me not to go through the trouble. Went to Auto Zone next door and bought what I needed, advise you to do the same.

Very Rude Employees went in on a Sat 11am asked a simple question "can you guys help me with finding the right fuse for the cigarette lighter?" The employee looks at me and says NO. Two other employees sat there ..doing nothing ..I said okay thanks ..drove two feet over to Auto Zone. Where they were very busy ..but still helped me out . Was in and out with in 10 mins! Auto Zone Will be the place I go and tell others to go if they want to be treated with Respect.

I have often been able to find the parts I need for a decent price. The rewards program is better than most. My most recent trip for spark plugs was unsuccessful, but none of the other auto parts stores in the area had them either.

Rude and horrible customer service at advanced auto in Elk river. You should take a lesson from Autozone right next to you.I called Early afternoon on Friday March 31st 2017 to get prices and someone answered crabby and rude. After they looked up prices they hung up on me. I called back to find out it was a manger who acted that way. So I called him out and said Auto Zone has way better customer service and he said, what else do you want I gave you prices. I said better customer service. He didn't care. Bottom line, go somewhere else if they don't respect the consumer.

I came out of work yesterday at 4:00 to find I had a dead car battery. Luckily I got a jump. While waiting for my kids at school, and leaving my car running the whole time in case the car didn't start again, I decided to place an online order for a battery at Advance Auto. Order was ready when I got there 30 minutes later about 5:45 PM. I asked if I could get it installed too since my husband was at work. They said no problem. I want to thank Tom, who I understand was supposed to be off at 6:00 PM, for staying a few minutes past his shift to make sure my battery was installed. It's so hard to find dedicated help these days and I want to make sure I gave him a kudos for that! Thank you again! Now that's real customer service :)

Great selection and if it's not at their store they will order it. After they used my warranty and got me a new battery they suggested it wasn't the battery. I took my car into a mechanic and found the actual problem that was draining my battery! Staff took their time to identify what I needed and got the correct information for our family!

Terrible experience. I bought a bad starter from them. I removed it and it tested good on their tester, so they claimed they could not and would not replace it. I went next door to AutoZone and they tested it good as well, but said they would replace it because the tester does not test under load, so it is not 100% conclusive. When I told him I bought it at the Advance store next door, he advised me to tell them they should replace it if it spins on first try at cold and because testers do not test under load and at cold. So I went back to the Advance Auto Parts store to try again to work with them, but they still said no. I then called the next closest Advance Auto Parts store to explain the intermittent at cold issue and the sales person said "bring it in and we'll take care of you". When I brought it in they tested it as good, but still replaced it based on the issue I explained. The sales person was pleasant to work and I thanked him for his help. I replaced the starter and have not had any problems, so the returned starter was definitely bad.Bottom line:The Elk River Advance Auto Parts store will show you out the door if you need to return a part, but can't prove conclusively that it is bad. You ll be much better off purchasing auto parts at a different Advance Auto Parts store or the AutoZone store next door.

I'm an advance guy so i go to them when I can. This advance seemed a little low on certain shelf stocked accessories. Staff seamed friendly but I had no interaction with them since what I needed wasn't available on the shelf. The plus side of this is the location. The downside is it's right next to autozone.. next time I'm not sure which one I'll go in first. AutoZone or advance....

Have always had great service. Pricing on par with competitors. Not a fan of Car Quest parts and usually avoid when able. I still stop here first when looking for parts.

Ordered my parts online. They had the lowest price of anyone. Got a 25% discount for first online order. Picked up in store. In and out took maybe a minute.

They don't know squat. Went in to get 3m tape and only the manager knew what I was talking about and showed me where it was. It's funny to see employees from autozone come over and help customers instead of advance auto employees

I always buy my parts from this store, was highly dissatisfied on my visit 2/29/2020. Walked in and asked to have my alternator tested and was told nope our machine doesn't work, you have to go somewhere else and walked away...did not offer a solution, it was like he did not care. Went to Autozone next door, needless to say they received my business.

Woke up in the morning to my car not starting. Got it jumped drove on over to get a battery test, alternator test, in the code red for my car that showed up. Very pleasant experience thank you!

I got wipers and they installed it free. I know some other stores do this but it's advertised on the windows here so I feel comfortable asking them to do it.

Have a perks account there and have the military discount. Online better savings on most parts and can pick-up at store or delivery to house.
