I have been in several times with my Honda for both minor and a major repair.I have always received excellent service. I have found them to be honest, clear, showed incredible expertise when problem solving issues on my older car and have always given me veery reasonable prices for the work done.If you re looking for a place that demonstrates high integrity and expertise you will find it at Thompson T.

Thompson's Repair are great! They work with me when I have issues with my mental illness and can't make the appointments. They kindly reschedule and they always do a fantastic job on my car. No judgement, just helpful suggestions and work with me to keep my car running.I would recommend them to family and friends.

I had work done on my car for my brakes and a front axle, I thought it would take a couple of days but, Thompson T-Express got it all done in pretty much one day and I'm very appreciative of their services. Thank you Thompson T-Express.

As always, great service!!! Very polite...chk it all out. Call with what is wrong and what it would cost. They go ahead with what you can afford! They're quick and call when it's finished! Awesome people! Since I discovered this place, I won't go anywhere else!!!

They are pretty fair. Good job. A little expensive but they don't charge for unneeded jobs and always really good about quotes and timing. Pretty backed up for jobs though. Which is a good sign.

I came in with an almost flat tire.. they asked if I needed help with it ..I did.. they ended up fixed the valve..It was a blizzard outside they got me in and out within an hour and I went to work ..

This review is for Randy. Whatever you're paying this man, it isn't enough. He was fast, professional, and went above and beyond to ensure our happiness and most importantly our safety. A very kind and hard worker. Overall very pleased with the work. I'll be requesting him again in the future.

Our" critical medical use" Honda CRV was having ongoing intermittent starter problems. Our trusted Service Center, Two Harbors Towing, was booked solid for weeks. TH Towing, however, provided the highest recommendation for Thompson's T-Express, and Thompson's honesty, fair pricing and flexibility for handling repairs needing an unusual timely response. TH Towing also indicated "Daniel" was one of the best Honda technicians in the area. We immediately called Thompson's, explained our situation and Thompson's had us bring the car in the next business day early in the morning, They worked to fit us in, and had the problem analyzed and the new starter and relay in within a half a day. Communication was excellent, and the charges very fair. I have extensive experience in the automotive industry, and I was extremely satisfied with the extra effort, honesty, straightforward communication and fair pricing for a job I am confident was well done. Our thanks to "Daniel" and Thompson's for their concern and focus on our problem. They truly took the extra steps to provide an excellent service experience. I am grateful, and highly recommend them.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Solid, good hearted people working at this shop. Had a flat on my motorcycle this past summer and was trying to get a little air just to make it home- using their free air compressor. An employee happened to see me and put a plug in for me- free of charge! Will definitely give them my business when it s needed.

I called and asked for an appointment to have my brakes checked. I arrived at my appointment was told that they would check it out and call me, I went next door to Burger King, had some lunch and waited. I waited at least an hour before going back in and checking on my car. I went back in to inquire about what was going on and my car was up on the lift being repaired and the man at the front said it would be another hour and a half....first, they didn't call to see if I wanted the repairs made, didn't ask if I had time to wait and didn't ask if I had $500.00, to pay for the repairs!!!! I ended up being there almost 3 hrs sitting in Burger King. I asked why no one called me to ask if I wanted the work done and the man replied " oh they usually call" that's it. On top of this I feel I was taken advantage of as being a single woman! No one explained anything to me and they made repair to other parts that I didn't ask for, such as adjustment to the rear brakes that were just done a few weeks ago.Service: Brake service & repair

These guys were fabulous! Pulled in due to a low oil light and was about to drive to the twin cities. They took care of us in 10 minutes, Randy was very kind, friendly and knowledgeable. They damaged my vehicle while towing it and the owner tried to tell me they didn t and the damage was already there. The owner then let my car sit in holidays parking lot for a week just to tell me he didn t want to work on it and I need to have it towed somewhere else. Keep in mind I called everyday for a week to ask them if they had looked at it yet and I was continually told no they would get to it tomorrow. When I went to check on my car they left it unlocked and the hood open.Service: Car towing

DO NOT EVER GO TO THOMPSON S T-EXPRESS ON 27TH AVE IN DULUTH!! THEY WILL SCAM YOU! 3 days ago I went to go get an oil change, got that done. 2 days ago I went in to get my front and back left side blinkers fixed. Instead of fixing my blinkers they replaced SEVEN bulbs WITHOUT EVEN TALKING TO ME ABOUT IT!! And of course, didn t fix the blinkers. When I called that day when I made the appointment they told me that that would cost about $25-$35. I ended up paying $75.81 for SEVEN bulbs that they did not even talk to me that they were doing instead of fixing the blinkers. Yesterday I went in to get the blinkers fixed because they failed to do it the day prior .. they took 2 HOURS to fix my blinkers. That ended up being $253.39!! It was $253.39 because they also did another oil change and since they did not do the blinkers the day before they took off $74.34 (good guy discount). So in less than TWO days they did another oil change saying that I told them that I wanted another one done. Without talking to me again they did the oil change. I just got back home from going there confronting the owner and asking for money back and he was extremely rude and very very terrible customer service. Instead of refunding me for most of what they messed up on and did, the guy gave me a free oil change card. He told me he is very good with his customers but I hear other. MULTIPLE people in the last few days has told me that this has happened to them too that Thompson s did not talk to them about what they were doing with their car, and charged them for it!!! I AM VERY MAD!OH, AND TOO ADD... they had to take out my whole Dash yesterday just to fix my blinkers. And now a piece of my car won t go back in on the dash (second picture). PLEASE SHARE THIS TO MAKE OTHERS AWARE TO NOTTTTTT GO TO THIS TERRIBLE PLACE!!

You get what you pay for. (In a good way.) We've been Thompson's customers for 10 years now, and we're still happy with them.We call them when we need a tow, and they tow us. We set up an appointment when we need an oil change or a light fixed, and they change our oil or fix our light. We call them when something isn't working, and they run diagnostics and tell us what's wrong, then ask what we want them to do. They call us if they find something else that needs fixing and ask if we want them to do that, too. They've NEVER done the work without asking first.We have never had any complaints about the quality of their work or their reasonableness. We also have never had to take our cars to a different shop to repair something Thompson's has repaired.Two specific instances I'd like to note:1) The first time I went in to pay for my repairs, a man with a thick accent and several kids was in front of me. His car would take some time, and he didn't have much money. (They'd been discussing a payment plan when I walked in.) The lady behind the desk called him a cab and gave him cash to pay for it. (As I understood it, they usually had one of their people drive clients home, but either that person was busy or there wasn't enough room in the vehicle for all the kids.) This has stuck with me.2) In mid-2020, we got two new tires at a different place (Duluth Tires) which had a slow leak. We assumed the tires themselves were bad and went to Thompson's in early 2021 to get new ones after a cold snap made those two tires go flat. Thompson's, instead of selling us new tires, told us that the tires were fine but the other place hadn't cleaned and sealed them properly. They offered to do that, which would be much cheaper than new tires, and we agreed.There may be anecdotes of woe from unsatisfied customers, but those are merely anecdotes. The bulk of our experience with Thompson's has been positive, as has that of our family members (my brother feels like he's cheating on Thompson's by using a shop in walking distance from their house). We've found them to be honest, timely, and good at their job.If you're very concerned about money, or have a limit to how much you can afford, ask to be quoted prices upfront and kept in the loop on any extra charges (they usually do this, but no harm in asking). And ask about payment plans if you can't afford a lump sum. Communicate your needs and expectations clearly, and have Thompson's write down any special requests. They are not unreasonable and will treat you fairly.Services: Battery service, Car towing, Tire change, Battery

Towing was quick and easy, but repairs were more expensive than they should have been. In addition to being overcharged, only the immediate problem in my car (broken belt) was fixed, not the underlying problem which caused it in the first place (oil leaking over the belt). Customer service was excellent over the phone but less than desired in person. Would not recommend

disappointing! I set up an appointment with them to leave my car at their facility for a friend to pick up 3 days in advance. They said great! their rate was high but I likes their google ad. I called an hour before dropping off and they said DO NOT BRING ANY CAR here...I was confused I said do you remember we booked this saturday? they said yes...I said do you remember telling me the price and what it would be? and they said yes and so I said Jeff, what changed and he said I don't have to tell you anything and hung up...Terrible..Last minute I found Dave's towing and used them. They had great customer service. DO NOT USE!!
