Had major mechanical failure on my daughter s 2007 Subaru engine. While the repair process was slow, it was due to methodically working through other drivetrain components to make sure they were going to last if we invested in the repairs and then due to 3rd party service providers for parts that had to be sent out for repairs being extremely slow. Were responsive to my calls and inquiries. This review subject to change based on how the next few thousand miles go, but so far so good! Thanks, Dan!

The work they had to do didn't take as long as I expected, price for said work was fair and didn't break the bank!! Would recommend to anyone!

I had my car brought in about a year ago,after it sitting for over a week they FINALLY decided to work on it! $3,500 was the final bill....had to bring it in a few weeks after due to a nut missing on my control arm, they tried saying it wasn't due to them (though they just worked on it) tried to charge me $80 I refused to pay for their mistake, they were rude, hung up on me and left my vehicle unlocked and with my keys in it on the road, I've been having NOTHING but issues with my vehicle since. And in all the areas they claimed to have fixed! Also was told that the "new parts" on my vehicle do not look new at all by another mechanic! I would never recommend this company to anyone!!

I don t normally write reviews, especially bad ones but my experience here was pretty awful. I dropped my car off here and they told me multiple times they would call me back, which never happened and I had to call to get ANY info. They did finally call me to say that they were going to empty the shavings in my transmission (the first work they did after my car being there a week) and if I didn t get back to them they were just going to go ahead with it, which was more money out of my pocket. So they did that service before I gave the go ahead, just to tell me upon pick up that I needed a new transmission anyway. Long story short, I paid $400+ for a service I didn t want or need. Please take your business anywhere else.Services: Transmission, Vehicle Inspection

Resurfaced the clutch on my Audi A4, they say it can't be done but it worked great.

Had my brakes replaced, oil leak patched, and oil change with them recently, everyone there was very friendly and polite. I had called before I brought my car in to get a idea of prices, and the guy who answered the phone made helping me his top priority and did his best to get me a ballpark price. My car is running better than ever now, brakes feel amazing, but I was most impressed by the staff, it always felt like they genuinely cared, I will be bringing my business to them from now on.

They were very close to my home , the day I called them they said I could get in on Monday I said sure that works cause the other company I called said they were would get me in 6 weeks before never called me so this is my stories on Lakehead Clutch and Brake they finished the job on the day they took me in Dan was very good at explaining what he needed from me and what they did on my vehicle I am happy with this service what makes a 5 star rating for me Is other people who comment on my 4 star rating saying they were satisfied at Lakehead Clutch and Brake !

I have done a lot of work with these guys. Not because I have the same problem but because they can fix any problem I give them. I ve had them fix a few different vehicles of mine with great service and affordable prices. I will continue to trust them for any future problems.

Not pleased with the communication on a dozer clutch relining. They changed from the factory riveted backing plate to a direct bond and scrapped the backing plates with out checking to see if I the customer was ok with the design change. When asked for the factory backing plates they were unable to find them. When I dropped the parts off I had expected a shop with their reputation to perform a relining consistent with the original design and if that was not possible to consult, very disappointed.

My car broke down in Duluth on the Thursday night before New year's weekend and had it towed to Lakehead that night. They had my alternator replaced by 1 in the afternoon Friday before they closed for the weekend. They were very enthusiastic and flexible with my situation. Highly recommend taking your business to them.

My SO brought a wheel hub to these people to have a bearing punched out and the new one put in, they told him it would take less than a hour since they have the machine to do it and quoted him $45, when they went to pick the part up they tried to charge him $180 saying it took 2 hours.. not to mention when they received the hub back from them the hub was damaged, definitely wouldn't recommend this company!!!!Also when they called to ask them why they neglected to say they damaged the hub they hung up. Wow!!!!

Great business and great staff. Five had work done there for years and now my kids go there as well. They are a full auto care business. Air conditioning as well.

This is a local family owned business. They treated customers with respect. The technician will explain the why and how of repairs and complete them at a fair and reasonable prices. Would not take my vehicles anywhere else
