Competent shop does good work. In my case I didn t ask enough questions about the $ mark up on parts and that was significant. This shop had a 6 week wait for a wheel bearing job, so they must have a large customer base.

Took my van there to get the A/C fixed. In a nice way they told me they didn't want to work on it. Said it was too rusty to raise up or something. Gave me a bill for 60 bucks saying I declined for them to fix it, which was a lie. I never told them not to fix it.Brought it home, fixed it myself with no need to raise it up, not sure what they meant. Maybe they don't know much about air conditioning systems. Anyway, it's working awesome now.UPDATE: Love the references guys, but you know who I am. You even called a few days after my review and we talked for 35 minutes on the phone!Maybe someday I'll give you a chance to redeem yourselves if I have a problem in the future.

I really like Brad's Auto Clinic- they are reliable, timely, and perform quality work. I have recommended them to many people. However, I was quite disappointed with their service today when I walked to my car after paying for the work they had done. I noticed there was a crack in my windshield and spoke to someone about the issue. He told me it was the tow trucks fault but I did not have my car towed, I drove it there myself. I am very disappointed in this service because the crack happened while my car was in their hands. They said there was nothing they could do and wouldn't properly compensate me. I love to support small businesses but as a customer this is really frustrating dealing with especially considering they tried to put the blame on a tow truck that never was in the picture.Services: Auto engine diagnostic, Auto maintenance, Oil change

Hands down the best mechanic I've used. Brought my '16 Accord in for a timing belt and water pump replacement, a valve lash adjustment, plus some fluid flushes. I also requested some help on a spinning lug stud plus a full diagnostic.Where other shops might rush through the admittedly long list of services I'd requested, Brad and Steve were extremely thorough in addressing each one of my vehicle concerns. They were clearly knowledgeable about my particular platform and even recommended the valve adjustment be deferred based on measurements they'd taken in other, higher-mileage J-series Hondas. On top of the routine maintenance items, they spent several hours fixing some cross-threaded lug nuts on one of my wheels without torching the wheel or replacing the entire hub assembly. That kind of attention to detail was totally above and beyond, and it saved me a ton on parts.Besides the great work they do, the prices are extremely fair, and I've never got the sense they were trying to upsell me on something that I didn't need. It is genuinely difficult to find a good, honest mechanic -- let alone for a fair price -- but Brad and his team are exactly that. Thanks, guys!Service: Auto maintenance

I brought my car to Brads after being told by a different shop my transmission needed to be replaced at a cost of close to $7000.00. I wanted a second opinion and Brads was worth every penny. Dan ran a diagnostic check and got the code advising a replacement but didn t think that was the whole story. He did some research and found a CPU fix from Nissan that worked perfectly and the car drives very smoothly now. This research saved me several thousand dollars and more than likely needing to buy a new car. Brads is honest, fair, and courteous and we are a customer for life. Excellent auto shop, this was the third shop in the Duluth area where I brought my car and the only one to actually send me home with a car that runs properly. Prices are very reasonable and the staff was friendly and professional. 10/10 would recommend to all my friends & family!

There was a little confusion with the appointment on whether I was waiting for the truck or dropping off but they were able to get me in right away. They were very good at explaining why and what they were doing. They gave me their recommendations to find out the issue. I made follow up appointment to get to the exact resolution to the problem. I highly recommend them.

I bring both our cars to Brad s. Always quick, friendly, knowledgeable and easy to work with. They take the time to let you know what s wrong and always fix it right. I highly recommend bringing your car to them.

I cannot stress how amazing the service and knowledge of Brads is. I have taken my SUV there twice for major repairs. They are reasonably priced and willing to go the extra mile to make you feel like an important customer everytime. The only thing is they are very busy which is to be expectedwhen receiving the best working on your vehicle. Make an appointment in advance . I recommend them to anyone needing quality work done.

My engine was run without oil for a few miles and destroyed. Brad ordered a new engine, but when it arrived he discovered it was broken. He worked with the supplier and was able to reduce the cost of the engine by about 85%, then fixed the damage. We didn't pay more for the engine and labor than what was originally quoted. We will not take our vehicles anywhere but Brad's! The prices are fair, and he and his crew are honest, decent human beings and excellent mechanics.

We brought our truck up to Duluth for the school year. The first week the starter went out! My parents chose Brads Auto Clinic in Duluth based on a recommendation from a friend of my moms who currently lives in Duluth. They were absolutely amazing! Brad worked with my mom (who is in the twin cities) to get the vehicle towed there and they took care of everything! The truck was fixed the next day! The cost was very affordable! Brad s Auto is the only number you will ever need when it comes to needing a mechanic! Honest, knowledgeable and affordable!!

Car woudnt start today, called Brads and they literally came over, grabbed our car and got it fixed up for us. I will never take my car anywhere else and the honesty and integrity of their service is truly unrivaled in Duluth. They go above and beyond any expectation we had. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

My family has been coming to Brad's for years and through several cars. They are a bit out of town, but then there's always plenty of parking. Brad and crew are always friendly, they do good work, and they back up their work, too. Plus, they keep a big pile of parts in a 'hall of shame' up front for your family fidgeter to play with.

Had a misunderstanding at first but brad wanted to work through that so I would come away satisfied as a customer with the car work. I did. I like that he was willing to work through it. He also did a great job explaining everything he did. Very thorough. Because of all of this definitely would recommend and use his place of business

Brad's shop is as good as it gets. The proprietor IS "Ask the Mechanic" on KQDS, and has instructed or advised many of the ASE certified technicians in the area. He's built dragsters, fixed countless daily drivers, and has been working on vehicles for at least 20 years (probably closer to 40 judging from the length of that unbelievable facial hair). I am in no way affiliated with him other than the fact that he's given myself and my fiancee flawless service over the years. I have no idea what the anonymous user below is talking about, but my guess is that they are from a competitor that is losing business to this establishment.I've been taking my vehicles to Brad for about five years now when something needs to be done that can't be done in the garage without an engine lift, or to fix electrical issues (ugh). Just one example is when my fiancee's 1995 Jeep Cherokee had a constant power drain issue that killed a battery that I didn't have the time to track down. He diagnosed and fixed the problem overnight, installed an Interstate Battery (not some cheapo knock off), cut custom cables because mine "didn't look right" (for nothing), and my fiancee was on her way.My fiancee went up to Chesney's Auto salvage up the road directly after picking up the truck and had engine heat issues on the way almost immediately. Alarmed, she went back to Brad's thinking they mucked something up. It turned out her old coolant hose got nicked by the radiator fan. Brad cut and installed a new hose that was a bit longer than the factory hose, routed and zip tied it to assure no more issues and topped off the coolant for good measure. When she asked what we owed him for the immediate fix, he wouldn't accept any payment.You'd be doing yourself a disservice to go anywhere else for auto work unless the drive out on Rice Lake Road is incredibly impractical. I've spent thousands at this auto shop over the years, (Ball joints, U Joints, and transmission cooler lines to name just a few irritating jobs they took care of for us) but competitor quotes would have cost us thousands more for the same work. I wouldn't think about going anywhere else unless Brad suggested it (and he has when he knows other technicians would be able to do the same quality work for less money, or for a faster turnaround due to parts availability or too much business at once). That kind of honor is unheard of, especially with a female customer that could have easily been taken advantage of.

I have only stopped by Brad's auto a few times for parts but the reports I have heard from other people say this place is top notch! Brad is on 95 kqds tuesday mornings for ask the mechanic and his knowledge is endless and if you find a way to stump him he is willing to have you call him at the shop and figure out your problem. Spoke with Brad about a problem on my pickup we went through many scenarios to figure out it was a ignition module. Replace ignition module vehicle ran just fine thank you Brad and thanks for being a good neighbor.

Best in the business! Brad's crew are 100% certified car ninjas. More expensive than most but ya get what ya pay for I reckon.
