Good stay.Love the rooms. Quiet. QualityI rate4.5 starsWhy not 5 ?Room was way warm, had to open windows .Only three pegs to hang jackets and pants at a ski condo? Rediculous. We had jackets n pants and gear on every chair.Should be lots more hooks. Lots. The hot tub n pool area is a zoo with screaming little kids for hours on end in and out of the hot tub. Pool is too cool for kids so guess what? Hot tub full of kids.Little kids in diapers even.Rent a place with a jacuzzi hot tub in room cuz trying to use hot tub is a joke. Sad cuz after skiing a hot tub would be nice but not with several screaming little kids in there for hoursIt's a play ground.People at desk were great.Rooms great overall.Nearby activities: Ski in ski out

We were here for the State Nordic Ski race and the rooms were perfect for our overnight stay and eating in the well equipped kitchenetteWalkability: The event was right outside the windows so it was easy to watch from inside or on the balcony right outside

Great prices for the value - both for the stay at the lodge and skiing. Our $200 room had a full kitchen, nice living area, and a king-size bedroom. We had small gripes, but overall no complaints worth including in this review. Can't beat the location to ski-in and out. You can tell the Lodge is hurting post-pandemic as the lodge restaurant was closed due to staffing issues (ate next door at Burnt Onion instead). It also just seems somewhat bare and not very cozy...decor/ambience could use a little work in the huge, main floor seating area. Wish the lower level with the fireplace had comfy seating. Arcade/Game room was great (2 pool tables, air-hockey, bubble hockey) for our teenage sons. Hot tub and pool were nice (but busy as expected). When we return to Giant's Ridge we will definitely stay here!Rooms: Very cute up-north log-cabin feel. Kitchen had EVERYTHING we needed (we just brought a crock-pot).Nearby activities: SKI-IN / SKI-OUTWalkability: Best place to stay if you are skiing!Food & drinks: Wish their cute bar and restaurant were open.

Beautiful location and beautiful building but experienced the worst customer service of our lives here by the front desk staff. Ranking one star because we were not able to even view the room that we booked on our wedding night. My husband and I booked a room here when getting married at Giants Ridge, and we paid in full in advance for the room for 2 nights due to the Lodge's 2 night minimum which came to a total of over $650.We intended to, but did not have a chance to check in on the first night of the reservation due to our rehearsal dinner taking longer than expected, and many family and friends arriving to visit. The Lodge did not attempt to contact us at all when we did not check in the first night we had our room booked. On our actual wedding night, we attempted to check into the room and the front desk staff told us that despite us having paid for the room in full already for two nights, that they would not check us into our room because we had not checked in on the first day of the reservation. In my wedding dress, and my husband in his tuxedo, we spent 25 minutes on our wedding night arguing with the front desk about the situation. By the end of the ordeal, the front desk staff threatened to call the police on us if we didn't leave, even when we told them we did not have a car because we had been dropped off. Neither of us have ever been treated so poorly in our entire lives by any hotel in any circumstance. We contacted the owner of the property 2 days later, and after exchanging multiple emails and a phone call, we were refunded only half of our reservation cost because of the fact that we had argued with the front desk staff about the situation, and their staff member had made comments that we were rude. We explained that we were obviously upset by the situation, who wouldn't be, and that their staff member had handled the situation extremely poorly.Nowhere in the written policies on The Lodge website or in our reservation confirmation details does it state anything about an entire reservation being canceled if check in does not occur on the first day of the reservation, and they did not attempt to reach out to us at all to prevent this situation from unfolding. Our family and friends brought over $10,000 of revenue to the business for our wedding, and we believe that the staff should have been able to find some way to accommodate us on our wedding night, especially because we had already paid in full for the room for two nights. All this being said, the owner responded that we had been "fairly compensated".The remainder of our wedding week at Giants Ridge was spent at the Villas and Green Gates Guest Houses, and we cannot understate how much we loved our accommodations at both of these locations. The staff were exceptionally friendly and accommodating to our entire wedding party and families through the entire weekend. We were extremely lucky that we were able to secure a Villa as a backup option later on our wedding night at 1:30 AM.It sounds like a horror story but in reality we had an absolute amazing wedding at Giants Ridge, in spite of our experience at The Lodge. We would not recommend supporting a business that treats its customers so poorly. They care more about keeping your money than they do providing customer service, even on your wedding night!

We've stayed here a couple of times for snowboarding trips and both experiences were wonderful! We love the ski in/out convenience. Rooms are always clean and fully stocked with everything you need. There are a couple of restaurants near by and a snack shop so I recommend bringing food.... breakfast at the very least. The rooms have a full kitchen and are very spacious!

Has needed some updating for a few years. Great rooms but a lot of the other portions of the hotel struggle due to low volume. Bar and restaurant are often closed or restricted hours. Pool is fine but nothing special. Workout room is small. The spa in the basement has never been open while I was staying there (60+ nights over past 20 years).Unbelievable location if playing GR's golf courses. The suites are perfect for a foursome to share.

This place consistently underwhelms. 3 stays, this was the best, but not great and poor value. They survive because of lack of competition. I've never encountered a staff person who was warm or charming. Once we got to a supervisor, they were helpful and solved an easy problem. Didn't need AC this stay, so unsure if it's working. Eat in town if you can.

Beware of staying here even if you are golfing or skiing at Giant s Ridge. I was staying here in early September 2022 and finally I decided to help others avoid an experience like mine.First off The owner Desiree is a crook and the overall management of the place is so awful that it is amazing it is evenconsidered a legitimate business. It used to be nice years ago but now they don t even have air conditioning in most rooms and they have no plan to fix this. All of the employees look unhappy and after my experience with the owner Desiree It seems to be pretty obvious she treats them as she treats them terribly. If you wind up staying here due to no other option make sure you don t eat here as it is disgusting food and once again you will have servers and cooks who are unhappy with their job, serving you a meal. So instead, The burnt onion which is super close by is a great option for food. This is a legitimate 1 star review and I hope The ownership of the Lodge at Giant's Ridge takes this review seriously and realizes they need to make major changes when running this place that is in a beautiful area.

We stayed here 2 weekends ago, it's very popular but great accommodations for the price. Anyone who complains about the price should try staying slopeside at Lutsen and then give me a call. The ski-in, ski-out feature is the main draw and makes taking lunch break or getting an extra layer extremely easy. We will probably come for xc skiing next time.Rooms: Ours had a kitchenette. Fridge, toaster oven, electric skillet, but no full size stove.

What an exceptional place! My husband and I came here to celebrate our anniversary and every bit about our stay was amazing. From the moment we walked in, until the moment we got into our truck, everyone was more than pleasant, helpful, and kind. Our room was clean, the resort quiet and well-kept, and the staff helpful and welcoming. We cannot wait to come back! We're already planning our next trip here!

Our reserved room wasn't ready when we arrived. They wanted to put us in a handicap room. When we objected they did give us a slightly better room for the same rate. Feel like they should have done that right from the start. The adventure center is only open on Friday and Saturday. As a result amenities like bicycles were not available to us since our stay was Monday through Friday. This information should have been communicated to us at time of reservation.

First impressions were great the outside of the building and the grounds were very nice. Got to the room and immediately smelled a smoky/musty smell that irritated me and started burning my eyes. I ve blown in insulation in an attic and this was worse. I m usually not sensitive to this at all. The jacuzzi tub is nothing like the one in the pictures on the website. The mattress was as hard as a rock you could feel every spring, side sleepers beware. This was the 2nd hardest mattress I ve slept on. The carpet was ripped and in disrepair. The pool and hot tub was nice though. The front desk didn t say much about these complaints, no solutions offered, just excuses. I worked in a cheaper hotel and the beds were so much nicer. Nice location but I wouldn t recommend anyone stay here.

Lindsey and the bartender were very helpful, professional and focused on making our stay great! Even checked on ingredients for people with gluten allergies. Appetizers were wonderful! We had a party of 50 and they made each of us feel welcomed and special. Also, rooms are spacious and clean. Fun atmosphere.

This is not the well-oiled operation you'll find in many resorts... There are some things that make you go "huh"...like needing different keys for your room and the pool. However, the people are friendly and accommodating, the rooms are comfortable, if oddly arranged at times, and very spacious. We felt comfortable, happy and snug in our rooms. We had a wonderful stay.

The aesthetic is amazing and the rooms are very cozy. The pool is a little bit chilly but nothing really to complain about the arcade is pretty great but be warned, the claw machine with stuffed animals may eat your quarters. The gift shop is a little small but isn't terrible by any means. The golf shop has really soft sweatshirts, sadly none in my size. Overall a great place with few drawbacks.

Very comfortable, great place to stay for a get away. Room 329's dishwasher did not work, however. We did call the front desk, but no one showed up to look at it. Otherwise, we loved the suite and its conveniences for skiing, etc.

I've stayed here several times over the last dozen years, and have always-- ALWAYS -- had an excellent experience. The facility is clean and strikingly constructed for beauty, function, and appropriateness to the area. The rooms are ample and well supplied. Furniture and facilities are great.Staff is courteous. Room and lobby areas are clean, smells like resort should, good food, bar, (and of course golf) etc. It's an absolutely wonderful place. I just wish it were a bit closer so I could go more often !

Had great expectations, beautiful location and building but don't let looks fool you. The facilities are tired, worn and tattered and the staff have mastered passive aggressive Minnesota nice. They lied to our faces for 4 days about getting the rack that should be in the microwave/convection oven but wasn't, so we cook a pizza. Five different staff members told us they would get one right up, four days into it I had to get upset with them only to find out that none of the racks exist anymore. So it is essentially just a microwave. The pool was way too cold, but hot tub was nice. Doors didn't work in our room, not the most comfortable beds, the couch was too uncomfortable to use as a couch, our son slept fine on it pulled out though. The log furniture was amazing. The in house restaurant food was just decent, redeemed by atmosphere, low prices and attentive waitresses. Maybe I'm just used to Colorado resorts but I was very disappointed by my experience here!!!
