Very nice store, very helpful staff. Downfall is they are the only place that requires you to have your receipt from purchase in order to warranty any hand tool. Even if it is an ACE branded tool. For this reason I will no longer buy any tools from ACE Hardware. There is no reason to when every other manufacturerhas no questions asked lifetime warranties.

I went into ace to have keys cut on January 9th around 430 in the afternoon. I was told that they will not cut keys if you bring in your own because they guarantee the keys they cut. The keys I needed cut were for a Volvo semi truck and this is the reason I brought in key blanks. A lot of places will not stock key blanks for Semi trucks for a variety of reason.For this I am giving a one star, I wasn t asking for a guarantee, this never use to be an issue here so I don t know why it is now.

Alex s Ace Hdwe is the greatest! Not only do all the staff members know exactly where in the store your item is located, but how to best use it. You re greeted when you enter the store, and thanked when you leave. One of the two managers is always available for questions or concerns. It s MY kind of store

Worst customer service I ve ever had.Asked for a key to be made, was looking at the key options and had the tyedye key in hand, they guy asked for the original and started cutting without asking if I wanted the tyedye one cut. Than told me I would be charged for two if I wanted that one cut also.. I only wanted one key made .. my husband was walking around the store. They guy who cut my key told me to go pay the lady at the front for the key. Didn t ask if I had other shopping. Went to the cashier loudly saying the lady is only getting one key I guess. Told her the price. I was no where near this lady s register or line was asking my husband if he wanted to look at paint n stuff there when they lady loudly shouted out the total while staring me down..I paid and we left.I will not be going back.

Love our local hardware store. They great me when I come in and offer assistance. I'll stop here first, before the big box store, when ever possible.

The staff is somewhat friendly. Kind of spendy. We usually do not go here unless we know there is something we need that we cannot get anywhere else.

I have only been to this location once years ago. I walked in not knowing where anything was and there was a man standing there as I walked in and he asked me what I was looking for. He showed me both right away and I was in and out in 5 minutes . Amazing service !

I ordered at their online site and it was delivered to my local Ace Hardware store. Fast and easy and the store is clean and orderly. Quick and helpful employees.

I didn't know exact part I needed for a plumbing project, but the Associate who offered to help, knew his stuff. I probably bought more than I needed too just because I had 2 options for parts - so i bought both! Great service- great price.

I wanted to rent a rug scrubber from them. The way they explained the time frames on the rental over the phone was completely different from what they told me when I showed up. Don't rent one from them. They stick to the time frames rigidly and act like total inflexible jerks.Tom's in Glenwood offered me the flexibility on return times that I needed. I went there instead. I'm done at this place. They wasted my time and are rude.

Friendly staff always wanting to help you!I had a guy teach me how to clean my sink trap. That's service you cannot get anywhere else. The stock is limited, but I'll always try here first over any other store.

It's a typical hardware store. I visit fairly frequently and they not only always have what I'm looking for but they are also smiling and that is so valuable. I really enjoy this store.

Place has been here forever it seems. Still nicely kept. Nice to be able to have a hardware store and not have to go into the big box place and walk through a giant Warehouse just to get a few small supplies for the house/garage

Visited this Ace for some bolt replacements that I lost in my ice auger. It's been some time since I've visited an Ace, but this time really made feel bad that I haven't for awhile. I had amazing service and they had everything I was looking for, even a last minute Christmas gift for my daughter.

Incredibly helpful staff, especially John. Helped us with our specific need (just the right herbicide for invasive creeping bellflower) and diagnosed our chainsaw problem, too!

This is an awesome small town hardware store that takes care of you from the moment you walk in till the moment you walk out. Their selection was surprisingly big for the size of town that they are in, and their prices were very much so competitive even with hardware stores that are in bigger cities. I would highly suggest anyone in the Alexandria Area check out Ace Hardware if a need arises.

I was in the area and needed some paint. I knew the name of the color I wanted so I let them know. It was found and mixed in minutes. They also had batteries for my grandma's old watch. They helped me find it in no time.

Friendly staff and good selections for tools and outdoor equipment. But overpriced. I dont know how long ace can continue to compete with walmart, fleet farm, Ron's warehouse and menards around the area. They need to drop there prices more.
