Very knowledgeable and kind staff! Along with great quality work. They had great affordable prices, and let me know exactly what needs to have work done on my vehicle. After having bad experiences with other shops in the area, I gave Gearhead a try and they will have my service from now on.

I recently had a repair done at Gearhead. The job took a little longer than expected, but that was due to factors beyond Gearhead's control. Everyday they would give me a call to provide updates, which was great and something other shops would not do. Extremely fair on prices and transparent throughout the process. It's a little tricky when picking a new garage for auto repairs, but Gearhead has my trust for all future car work.

Excellent customer service. Excellent prices, guys there made me feel welcome and valued. No problems with the work they ve done for my for ford. From experience I can t say the same for any other mom n pops based shop around here. Come here!!!

So I heard about them from City Body in depot town and checked the reviews just to inquire and they are holding true. I have nothing but good things to say. What impresses me is that the owner is visibly involved in the entire process, I have taken 2 vehicles here in the last 4 months and each time he diagnosed what was wrong correctly and gave me options of what I can do as far pricing, parts and longevity and quality of parts he would recommend, etc. I know people are skeptical of trying out new mechanics but this was the easiest, fastest and best quality work I ve ever had done. I am happy to say I will use Gearhead from here on out.

I'm leaving a review because of how honest and forthcoming this place was in diagnosing my vehicle. Laith was upfront about what was going on and instead of taking a job, he cared more about the situation and me than my money. My family for many years ran a transmission shop and I know how difficult it is to find a trustworthy auto repair place, but this is where I will go for all future work.

They replaced my alternator and spark plugs, and while they were in there something else they noticed, but that was free of charge which I appreciate.As far as I know, the work is good.That being said, They do charge a pretty hefty diagnostic fee (around $140 this time) which they waive half of if you do the work there, so I would only take my car there if I'm sure I want the work done there.So if you do go here, go to the ATM before you pick up your car and save yourself a chunk of change.The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and understanding.

Highly recommend this place to get your vehicle fixed. Everyone I spoke with at the shop was very friendly, they communicated well, called to explain what was wrong and to get approval before going through with the repairs, prices were fair, AND the turnaround time was quick. All in all, top notch experience. Will be coming back here when/if I'm having car troubles again! :)

The team at GearHead helped me get my car as good as new! Fair pricing and a mechanic I can finally trust to be fair and do good work. Heard about these guys through my brother and personal friends. They always heard me going to other shops like Midas for repairs and would constantly say "Go to Gearhead" over and over, so after purchasing my new car from a dealer in new hudson, I wanted to get it checked out. They really gave me a great price and absolutely made me feel like I made the right choice. Had my engine codes ran, quick response time, called me back next day and let me know what it would cost and what needed to be done and my car was done by the end of the day. Great people, knowledgable people, awesome work and will be going here from now on as long as I live in the area. Highly recommend.

I got my brakes done and it was done in a very decent time. Staff is great. The price they charge is also reasonable compared to dealer prices. I most definitely recommend this place to anyone with car problems.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND- Honest & legit shop. It is hard to find a car shop that you can trust, and this is the one. All trustworthy, smart, and respectful employees. Fixed my Honda civic in less than one business day. Will definitely be going back! Thanks gearhead auto!

The people were really friendly and honest. We had some sounds that was concerning but after the inspection, they told us it was not a problem and did not try to make up a problem or upsell us on anything. Highly recommend this place!

The employees here are truly kind and good people. I live within walking distance, which was lucky because my car battery died before I could leave for work. I was going to be late to see patients, so I was very stressed and unsure how the issue could get solved. I walked over, and Leith greeted me, heard I was a neighbor and my plight, and immediately said they could help me out. He rode over with his equipment on a scooter in thirty-degree weather, jumped my car, and got it back to the business where his colleague immediately swapped the dead battery, all of this within about fifteen minutes, which meant I still made it to see my first patient.They discounted the labor, charged not only a fair, but good, price for the battery, and would not even accept a tip, which I wanted them to have in appreciation and gratitude for them going above and beyond with no appointment and without a thought. I will certainly be patronizing them again for oil changes and any other needs going forward, and am lucky to have found such professional, knowledgeable, and kind people to help me out.

I can't say enough good things about this place! Seriously, the rave reviews are all completely accurate. Laith is super nice, and always willing to look at my rust bucket of a Toyota. He's been up front with me about when a problem isn't worth fixing, and has always been willing to work around my schedule. He's extremely supportive and professional, and so are all his employees. We are lucky to have these guys in Ypsi, I just hope he doesn't burn out from overwork and high demand because I want them to stick around forever!

Moved the quick service, and quality of work. Very nice staff, and reasonable prices. I wouldn't go anywhere else to be honest. The mechanics here won't try and up charge you. You tell him what you need done..he will fix it.They will let you know what else should be done if needed, but won't pester you to get anything done that you cannot afford.I love this place. I hope many others see this post, and decide to get their auto repairs here. It's worth it .Trust me Service: General repairs & maintenance

This auto service provider lulls patrons in with a warm smile and the air or honesty but quotes new patrons roughly 20% above the going rate. Not recommended. Be honest with yourself and customers.

The owner explained every step of the repair on my ranger to me and gave a great price. He even listed options if I wanted to put off on the repair. Very honest and affordable.

Top notch shop. Honest and thoughtful. Explain service options in an easy-to-understand and prioritized manner. They didn't try to upsell anything, but believe in using quality parts to keep your vehicle running longer. My wife reported she had the same experience.

The owner Laith is an honest guy that really knows his stuff when it comes to cars along with the guys working there. It can be difficult to find good auto repair shops nowadays, especially in Ypsilanti so if you need work done to your car this is the place to go because they are one of the few around that are actually honest, reliable, and knows what they are doing. I highly recommend giving this place a try if you haven t already.

They were not able to work on my car with the problem I had, but the gentleman at the front desk was very professional about it and apologized. I totally understand that sometimes there are car repairs that aren't worth the time and hassle, and he handled it very well. He was upfront about the price and how difficult it would be. If I ever have another car problem they can take a look at, I will definitely be back to Gearhead!

Great service, honest, and easy, straightforward to understand folks. Since we've found them, they have taken care of me and my family's vehicles over the last several months. They're newer to the neighborhood but we appreciate how awesome they've been. Owner Laith is down too earth. Reasonable prices and they work with you to let you know what is priority and needs to be done now vs what could wait a bit until you are ready or it's a more serious problem. Highly recommend Gear Heads.

Laith and his team are terrific! They gave me a fair estimate for the work that needed to be done, they got it done INCREDIBLY quickly, and brought it in under budget!! The space is clean and welcoming, and every step of the way they kept in contact to keep me updated. I am incredibly happy to have a reliable mechanic with great customer service and fair pricing so conveniently located in the area. This place is awesome. Everyone who works here is down to earth and easy to get along with and they don't try to sell you stuff you don't need. Everything is straight forward. I took my R32 Skyline GTR to these guys and had them remove the HICAS steering system. They knocked it out in a day along with an oil change and tire rotation and my car came back to me in better shape than when I left it. If you're into cars this is definitely the place to bring your ride it'll be in good hands.

Don't hesitate, take your vehicle to Gearhead! You won't be sorry. After a few years of searching for a reliable, trustworthy, and honest shop, I have finally found the place that will take care of my old car. I have been to a few shops in Ypsi or Ann Arbor that gave me the runaround or cut corners because my car is older ('04 Subaru Forester). My partner also takes his car here ('06 Prius) and it feels amazing to have a shop where we love the folks who work there and we feel confident that our safety and budgets are respected. My car was having some weird smells so I decided to take it somewhere to get it checked out. I saw online that this place had so many great reviews so I tried them out and the reviews are all correct!! The team here really takes their time to make sure everything is well explained, and overall just works with such pride and knowledge in what they do. I did end up having to get pretty much a full brake job, but their pricing is extremely reasonable and I got my car in and out within hours! Not to mention it drives better now than it ever has before! Highly recommend this place to anyone in the Ypsilanti area !Services: Brakes, Vehicle safety inspection
