I had my BMW k1300s here recently after sitting at another shop for over a year. Within a week I got a phone call telling me what they believed the issue to be, we ordered new ignition coils. They also changed my fluids since the bike had sat for a year, replaced spark plugs, mounted new tire and rebuilt the clutch for me. The bike has almost 50,000 miles on her and she needed a major rehaul. I have been riding every day for the last 2 weeks since I picked her up and haven't had any issues, she runs like a dream again! Very thankful to this shop for getting me back on the road. Aron did great work on the bike. Malisa was very detailed with her communication and on top of it! You can't get this personal attention at the dealer, I highly recommend bringing your bike here....no matter what you ride.

The customer service here is exceptional. I came in with pretty bad engine knocking on my bike and Malisa and the guys helped me figure out the best course for either fixing my bike or buying a new one. After deciding to do an engine swap, Malisa went above and beyond to spend time doing research without charging me to help me select a used engine in good condition which the guys tested as soon as it was delivered. She also answered emails quickly and called me with updates throughout the process to make sure there was never anything happening to the bike that I wasn't aware of. The guys did a great job doing the swap, adjusting the valves, and making sure the new engine and transmission worked smoothly. Before I took it in to cafe racer I called other shops in the area to get quotes to even just look at my bike and they all refused, saying my 2007 bike was too old. My bike runs great now and I'm very happy with their work. I'd definitely recommend them to everyone for major repairs.Services: Carburetor cleaning, Electrical repair, Engine repair, Oil change

My 20-year-old motorcycle I purchased was Cherry but sat for too long and let rubber dry out and gas varnish the carburetor. Melissa took it in and cared for it like a mother would for a baby and now my bike has all new rubber from the street up to the seat and runs like it just rolled off the assembly line. Great place, professional friendly lady, they've got some beautiful bikes for sale too. Another fine establishment that makes Ypsilanti Depot town a great place. Thanks again Melissa and guys. Mike with the bullet holes. LOL

Cafe Racer is the place to go! They truly work on all bikes, I took my ninja 400 for service and they got my bike running better than it did brand new. The customer service was top notch from the appointment call to them handing my keys back. They were up front and honest about everything and i couldn t have asked for a better experience.

I cannot recommend this shop to anyone. I had a terrible customer service experience in trying to get my bike in for service. I cannot speak to the work they do but can tell you if the way they set up appointments and lack of communication on their services is a reflection of the labor then stay away.

When I dropped the bike off, I was told two weeks. It took over two months. I paid to have the carburetors removed and rebuilt. When the bike was dropped off it ran excellent, it just had a gas leak in a cross over tube. When I was finally able to pick the bike up; IT BARELY RAN. I was given a whole laundry list of why the bike wasn't running properly. It ran great when I brought it into the shop! I had to call another shop the same day that I picked it up from Cafe Racer. The other shop fixed the problems that Cafe Racer was supposed to fix, for cheaper, and only had the bike for two weeks. DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS!!!Service: Carburetor cleaning

This is by far the best and most reliable shop in the Ann Arbor area. Melisa is super professional and approachable, and John is a very knowledgeable and skilled mechanic. They have always gone above and beyond for me, and I ve never had any issues with them or their services whatsoever. I cannot recommend this shop enough! I wouldn t trust any other shop with my bike.

Great motorcycle shop. They are honest. Quickly got to work on my motorcycle and called me the same day after it was fixed. They gave me a lot of inside and recommendations. No pressure, just friendly and cool group of people who work there. Go meet them, you will like them.

As of right now, Cafe Racer have 2 of my bikes. Their customer service lady has been amazing to deal with on the phone and in person. During my drop off process, one of the techs even came out to talk to my daughter about the BMW I just dropped off. She had a blast!! Thank you for your patience during my learning process.

Thought I was going to be out of commission for a few weeks waiting on parts from UK, but they had a full oil gasket set for my 07 triumph on hand. Took the parts home and was back on the road the same afternoon. Excellent service and very reasonable prices.Going to be dropping my wife s scooter off for a tune up, and I m sure it will be another positive experience.Service: Oil change

John & Melisa's team are great. They go out of their way to make sure your bike is safe and roadworthy. I've had both my bikes serviced by their crew so I can stay safely on the road with a dependable ride.

We bought a new RH-50 sport from them earlier this year. Melissa is very helpful and got us going quickly. Had a little carb trouble at first brought it back, they didn't hesitate to adjust it and get us rolling for the next day. I mean they are professional and fast and take care of there customers. Awesome people. I brought scooter back today for the 500 mile service, same thing they jumped all over it. This is my son's first scooter and he loves it. With customer service like this I hope they don't spoil him for the future. LolServices: Carburetor cleaning, Oil change

I had a vintage Honda which had been sitting for many years and accumulating all the problems that brings. Malissa scheduled work with Eliot and with much patience, diagnosis and persistence the bike was brought back to life. Eliot even made a house call for me (all the way to Detroit!) in his dedication to the job. Superb work and highly recommended.

Tremendous service at a good price. They were willing to work on a pretty old model (2004 vespa et2), and although part ordering took a while, I got my vehicle back in great shape. The owner is very responsive if you call the shop to ask for an update: take advantage of this

i went into attempt to discuss 2 repairs and a serious purchase but merely touching any one of his cycles on display i was immediately insulted by either an owner or worker to not touch anything. all the while he continues to demean myself and another customer, he is chewing food and basically treating us so poorly that we almost ran to get away from this negative and very unprofessional individual. sorry cafe racer that i touched your clutch handle but we will find someone else to work with, dont treat me like a kid and you had our money.

Local shop, which is pretty cool and rare to be able to say these days. Bought tons of parts from these guys, had my bike worked on quite a few times. They always been straight up, and honest with me. The staff is always willing to give advise or suggestions, something I appreciate a lot.

They have worked on several bikes for me and did good work for a fair price. Always completed on time and very professional. Will go back when I need help, parts or advise.

Walked in to see what the shop was about and get some information. Was treated really poorly and basically ignored or like I was not welcome. Seems like it is set for a select group of people.

After purchasing a scooter from a private party, it turned out that the engine ran intermittent when hot. Then we found out, that there had been a recall issued for its engine ECU seven years ago to address this issue. We went to Cafe Racer for support as they are the local dealer for this scooter. Malisa Hinderliter cheerfully helped us and went out of her way to solve our problem. She communicated with the manufacturer, established that this scooter had indeed a faulty ECU, and then obtained a new ECU in exchange. She provided this service free of charge for us. I recommend this company very strongly for its exemplary service. Thank you Malisa!

I've never had a bad experience with this place. I will always go back there...even if only to look at the cool old school bikes they have on their floor. Nice to have someone that will even work on older stuff.

They have had our motorcycle for 2 years now and we paid them up front $8000. They still have not started working on it and we have no clue when they will finish our bike. It was like 3 days of work maximum.

This shop is terrible, can t meet a deadline does careless and incomplete work.August 2017 I sent my Triumph Explorer in for new tires and brakes. The rear tire was installed backwards, and they left 2 bolts on my front left caliper just finger tightened on.May 2018 I sent the Triumph Explorer in for a fluids change, and new tires. Cafe Racer comped the labor for the tires to make up for their mistakes previously. This was supposed to be a 2 day job but It took 7 days!Nobody in the shop knew how to do a coolant fluid change on my bike and Malisa told me I had to find a maintenance manual for them. After taking a week to do a simple service I had them not do the coolant change and give me my Motorcycle back.Malisa did not charge me for the service because of how long it took to turn around the bike and said they have a problem finding qualified mechanics.June 2018 I sent in my Triumph Thruxton in for a repair after it had been laid down. The front fork needed to be straighted out and gas tank painted to fix a 4x4in area with scratches. A mirror and shifter needed to be replaced as well. I found supplied the parts to the shop.Malisa agreed to a 3 week timeline to have the bike done. It took 6 weeks! The painter was not scheduled and ran into a major delay. I decided to find a replacement tank to swap out instead. Malisa refused to return the paint she used my credit card to order and as a result missed the 30 day return window. This paint was $315!When I finally was able to pick up the Thruxton the shop had a closed for the week of 4th if July on the door. I was half way home when Malisa replied to my email that a mechanic was in the back. I turned around and went back to get the motorcycle. When I got my bike there was anti-seize smeared on the seat, and the check engine light was on do to an incomplete Air Injection system removal job. The bike was obviously not test ridden or checked.Malisa again did not charge me because of the delay in turning the bike around, incomplete work and lack of care taken with my motorcycle.Simply put this is a shop you cannot trust to take care of your motorcycle, or have a reliable return to service date. Malisa leaves everything to the last minute and in the end purposely did not return my paint so I would be stuck eating a $315 can of paint I didn t need simply to spite me. Malisa also asked to used my credit card to order parts to save her shop transaction fees. The result was that she was not liable when I tried to deny the paint charge to Chase Visa.If you value your motorcycle do not take it here for anything!!

Another pleasant Ypsilanti surprise I did not expect one of the owners to be the lady on the phone behind the counter and for her to take the time to come around the counter and actually get to know me and what was the problem I was facing with my bike you know most of the time you can't even understand the language that mechanics are speaking and this lady got to the point kept it simple and told me the truth so yeah I love it when someone's upfront and honest and that's why I'm giving them five stars

Great service at reasonable prices! Took my Triumph Speed Triple in with a charging issue. They fixed it in a couple days for a fraction of the price Triumph quoted.

Amazing shop that can and will work on anything. Very helpful in finding the parts you need for your vintage bike or even something modern. Tuesday's are bike night in Depot town. Come out and say hello. If you are in the market for a bike or scooter, they have some available for sale.
