I could not be more happy with Railside and I'm so happy I found them! Here's a quick rundown, bc I hate reading long reviews. Just get to the point, please! 1. Their pricing is by the book, competitive standard. I've been to shops before this that were twice the labor.2. They go the extra mile to check things out while they're in there. Preventative maintenance awareness! They saved me THOUSANDS by informing me of things that should be replaced while they had things apart. (90's trucks owner)3. They always have time, even when they don't have time. Iykyk.4. Will go above and beyond compared to any shop I've gone to.Trust them. If they advise something, it's for your safety. I am from out of town and was visiting the area when my car started to act up. They were able to get me in and back on the road quick. Staff is friendly and prices are reasonable.

I took my Equinox to Railside Auto to have my muffler replaced and new tires put on. Pricing was very fair, the work was done in one day. Communication about my vehicle was spectacular! Awesome owners and great mechanics working there. Will definitely be back next time we have an automotive issue!

New management sucks. Had 1 of 2 coolant lines blow behind my turbo, had the replace it. They failed to tell me the othe coolant line was dry rotted and spongy and needed to be replaced too. Within a 2 week the otherside blew and I ended up replacing a lot more than just that one coolant line because of it. Called to aske what they would charge me to Crack 2 o2 sensors loose and they said at minimum $50 .... like for real. I will never go there again. Place is now over charging everything.

It was my first time there.Prices were great, and it was done in a timely manner.Got a quote for other work I needed, and got to talk to a mechanic about it. Great communication.I'll be back.

We were in Michigan from out of state when we noticed an issue with our rear brakes. We searched for local auto service companies and chose Railside Auto Service based on their reviews. This is one service company that has earned a 5 star review. John greeted me in the AM and quickly had his mechanics diagnose my brake issue. Knowing I was from out of state with just my one car he arranged to get on my brakes ASAP. They determined the issue and gave me my options. No hard sell here. They only recommend the services you need. A dealer would have had me replacing everything. If you are looking for an honest and reputable mechanic, this place is the best. They were hands down the best service I ve seen in the auto world. John had me in and out in 2 hours total. They made what could have been a bad trip to Michigan one of our best. This is my first 5 star review for any auto service company nationwide. Thanks Guys!!

To say that I am impressed with this shop is an understatement!! They have been fantastic with communication, I got almost daily updates about the status of my repair. I wish I could give them more stars because they're really great. They are quite busy and it's easy to see why. Their rates are very reasonable, quite a pleasant change from most local "service related" businesses. And, they dropped me at home then picked me up when they were finished! Who does that anymore?! I can't say enough good things about Scott and his gang.Edit: apparently it was sold in January 2023 and these folks are great as well.Still great service/customer service, and Brittany (one of the owners) is terrific. You still need to make an appointment as they are crazy busy, but you'll be very happy with their service. Oh, and Brittany still dropped me at home and picked me up when they were finished.

Check other auto shops with better reviews. When I called about a quote on getting brakes done the lady on the phone was very condescending and then took hours to message me back. Only asking me for the VIN number of my vehicle before she could do anything else. Because of how rude she was when I first talked to her on the phone. I just already contacted another auto repair service which they replied instantly and gave me a quote without needing any of the information that she required .

I had experienced some issues driving my car from Phoenix to Michigan and was recommended by family to have this place take a look at the car. They diagnosed the issue and was able to get the car fixed by them at a reasonable price. Out of any service garage I have ever had work done on any vehicle I have ever owned or driven, I can say by far they are the most honest when it comes to prices. The only complaint that I have which is why they are getting a 4 star review from me is because, a month before I left Michigan to drive back to Phoenix, AZ I had taken the car back into them because I was noticing a lot of play in the steering and hearing some noises (like a rattling noise) when I would drive over any bump or hit a pothole, so I wanted it checked out. They took the car into the bay and told me more than likely it was the lower control arms as the bushings were a little worn down but not to the point of replacement, they even took me into the service bay and showed me what they were talking about, however they did say the car would have been fine to drive back to Arizona. Since that day at the shop, the steering problem has only worsened and has gotten to the point I almost feel uncomfortable driving the car, had another mechanic look at the car here in Arizona and asked me who I went too to have the car checked out and told me they missed one important inspection point, the tie rods.. my car should have never been driven from Michigan to Arizona without having the inner and outer tie rods replaced as the boot going around the inner tie rods were severely damaged and is why I am having control issues with the steering. I feel as though they do good work, but they definitely need to check everything better because if they would have caught this, I wouldn t be seeing an $1100 repair now. Do I recommend? Yes, just ask more questions about what all they have checked.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic, Air conditioning

My vehicle broke down at night near Wayland, so I had it towed here and spent the night. They were kind enough to take a look the next day and give me a free diagnosis even though they were booked solid for a week. They also gave me a recommendation for a transmission shop for repair work. Very nice people.

I was vacationing in Dorr and was ready to dive back to NJ Friday morning. On departure I thought I had a bad alternator, I called to see if they could swap out the alternator with a new one. They fit me in their schedule right away, diagnosed that there was no problem with the alternator and sent me on my way without paying anything.This is a very honorable, honest shop with great tech s.I will be telling all my relatives and friends to take their vehicles to Railside Auto Service !ToddService: General repairs & maintenance

I am really upset with them sadly. I brought my car in for an oil change and an issue with my wheel. They "fixed" my wheel, but forgot the oil change no big deal.Took it to Belle tire for the oil change and tire alignment, where they informed me the ball joint was about to break and there was a MASIVE hole in my sub frame on the same wheel they "fixed". Along with my break pads had almost no life left in them.These issues were never brought up to my husband or myself. We will not be going back.Service: Oil change

These guys go above and beyond. My vehicle started making a noise last week.... I left it with them, and they said they could not see anything.So I kept driving it. I Stopped in yesterday and they took the time to listen to it, as it had gotten a little worse.They promptly put it on the hoist and determined the u-joint was bad; ordered, went and picked up the part, and installed it all in about 20 minutes while I waited. And this was at closing time... they put in the extra effort and gave me a deal because they didn't see it last week.There aren't too many places around like this.. and why they will get all my business. In fact, that's why my other vehicle is there today.These guys are honest, and their quality of work is great!Thank you Railside!

I took my car there for a brake inspection. They told me I needed pads and rotors, as mine had 20% left. I dropped it off a week later for my scheduled appointment to get them done. After my car sat there all day they call me at the end of the day and tell me my brakes are fine and have 75% left. That last inspection must have been eyeballed, wth! I feel like since Scott left this place is not the same and it is a shame.

Took care of me. Scott repaired a slow leak in my tire. Two months later I took it back because I thought his patch was leaking. Turns out I had another screw in the same tire. He wasn't going to charge me for the work, but I still gave him a few bucks! Great customer service.

Trustworthy and quick. After I had gone to a competitor for an oil change, who nearly convinced me that I needed to replace the serpentine belt and brake pads, I, thankfully, called my boyfriend to ask for his opinion. He recommended I take my car to RAILSIDE AUTO SERVICE. Scott inspected my car and was straight with me. I didn't need to replace those items. THANK YOU for being an upstanding, honest mechanic. I'll be spreading the word that your shop is the only place people should go to for their vehicle's needs.

Scott and his team are honest, reliable, and affordable. Great for oil changes to engine work. We moved out of town and still drive...and sometimes tow our vehicles to him for repairs.

If you want honesty, great work and great prices, this place is GOLD. On two different occasions took my car there after was told that I needed work, that I actually didn't need. It's nice knowing there are honest people out there not wanting to take advantage of others.

Cross threaded wheel lug nuts back on. Have to replace entire hub now!!! Thanks for creating an expensive repair.
