We came up twice this year from the Twin Cities to snowboard. My family is from the area and I grew up traveling to Hurley/Ironwood area. Improvements were noticeable, we stayed in the Jackson suites which were comfortable and clean. We had breakfast and dinner at the Legacy restaurant. Food was very good and affordable. I m happy to see the owners paying employees more and spending money in the area. I m happy to pay a little more for a lift ticket after the upgrades and the experience I ve had. Will return

Stopped in on 3/10/24 while taking a trip through the UP. So awesome that they make their own snow so we could still enjoy a day of skiing. We drove by plenty of other resorts that were all mud. I had a private lesson with George who was patient, encouraging and goofy. The high speed lift was an epic game changer. Impressed and excited to see what the management team continues to make happen.

What a great place to come and snowboard. We got some crazy lake effect the night before we came and it made it so awesome to shred the gnar at Jackson Creek. The reverse chairlift reminded me of my old resort. The runs were all challenging in their own ways, with fun rollers and steep blacks mixed about the hill. The terrain park was fun and all the features were fun to hit for the first time! The food at the bar was very yummy and the bartender was amazing as well (we ended up going to Club 28 and ran into her and we all had a good time there as well). The employees make this place instead of breaking it. They are all a hoot and a half with their banter. It's like being teased by your family while you're there. Can't wait to come back here next year and do it all over again!

I visited Snowriver last weekend and despite the challenges posed by the warmer weather, I was very surprised the resort maintained a solid base while most hills in the U.P. were closed for the season.I was very pleased by the ski resort s staff. The hill was well-prepared and maintained, providing an optimal skiing experience. From well-groomed trails to the efficient operation of facilities, every aspect of the hill's management was top-notch.Whether you're a seasoned skier or a novice hitting the slopes for the first time, Snowriver is worth a visit!

I miss the old Indianhead resort. My son, and I loved snowboarding previously at Indianhead but since Snow River took over things have gone downhill. The overall flow, experience and simplicity of the ski hill since adding a massive high-speed lift, has gone down significantly. Somebody else has mentioned, they do not seem equipped to handle the lines and where the lift comes up it makes it actually a little more challenging to access areas that were previously accessible. Lastly, believe it or not, I would go back to the old slower lifts for reasonable prices, and a more small resort feel. Sadly, my son, and I will likely not be back. There are better ski resorts for more reasonable prices that we will utilize instead.

The New High Speed 6 Pack Lift is a Game Changer! Seating for your whole family on the lift, access to great terrain from Greens, Blues, and Blacks. My family often rotated between the terrain park and the Borealis Black Run. So much fun ripping laps!I love reading Ben's Blog for all of the amazing changes that are taking place and sharing the excitement for the season, making snow, events, etc. Excited for the future of Snowriver! Keep up the great work!

My family and I spent the day skiing at Snowriver. We loved the terrain as well as the high-speed lift. For lunch, we stopped at Jack's, which seemed like a decent place, but the service was terrible. We ordered basic bar food (fries, chili, tenders) and waited an hour and twenty minutes!!! And this was a weekday. I gave up after 40 minutes and went back to skiing. My wife gave my chili to someone else waiting. Needless to say, I will never step foot back in Jack's. Do yourself a favor and pack subs or something! You'll ski more and save 80 bucks.

We came here to ski over President's Day weekend. We were excited to use the new lift, which is definitely an upgrade, comfortable and fast. However no other lifts were open! This caused big crowds at the bottom of the hill and there were no staff there to manage the long lines. People were skipping ahead, it was a bad experience. The resort really needs to get this figured out or else open up your other lifts. We went down the mountain twice and wasted a ton of time waiting, and decided to head over to Black River Basin instead. I understand that minimal snowfall caused some areas on the mountain to be closed, but for Presidents Day Weekend this seemed unacceptable.

The new high speed lift is nice, fast and comfortable. However the line to get on it is horribly disorganized, get ready for a huge mass of people all trying to cut in line. They really need a better system for getting folks on the lift. Also this was the only lift open on a very busy President's Day weekend. They seemed so unprepared for the amount of people when we went. We ended up just going to Blackjack instead, much less crowded.

We came to SnowRiver for skiing and snowshoeing from 1/29/24 to 2/3/24. Regardless of weather my partner really enjoyed skiing here.Special appreciation goes out to Neda (Nelda?), Tim and the woman working at the ticket window. Thursday and Friday they each took customer service the extra mile for us on a ski mixup. They are really excellent people. We will certainly be back. I just can not say enough good about them.Great organization.Food & drinks: We ate lunch at the hill each day. The food was a cut above the usual ski hill fare. The people working in Jack s took care of the orders very promptly. It was a pleasure chatting with them.

This place was awesome given the weird weather pattern this year. Luckily my partner and I got blessed with a powder day on 02/13/24. The mountain was great and the runs were evenly spread between all levels of experience. I've read online about long lift ticket lines but that can be expedited by doing the online waiver. The older skiers seem all ornery about the waiver but it's how it is. Idk why they are so mad. The employees and lifties were so nice. The ticket lady was so friendly even though other customers were so grumpy. Great bar and service. Would recommend.I have to give a huge shout-out to all the lifties and employees here. They are wonderful people who love to chat. I got to know the bartenders as well and they were superb.I cannot wait to come back here. I didn't want to leave and go back to the lower peninsula!Food & drinks: Food and drinks were fantastic. Bartenders and wait staff are incredible and friendlyNoteworthy details: Definitely a family feel here.

Waited outside in 9 degree windy conditions for over 30 minutes to buy lift tickets. Only 3 out of 5 ticket windows open. Horrible system. Only 1 lift running. Though it is the new 6 person high speed lift. It is still a long wait when there are over 150 in line. Powder horn Mountain on the other hand had traditional in and out in moments when buying lift tickets that were $20 less each...and had many lifts running with virtually no line

Do not believe what it says on their website or what employees tell you is open. We ended up having to hike down a run at Black River in our ski boots as the run was dangerously iced over and un-groomed with branches sticking up everywhere, but for some reason they had the run open. Our new skis were damaged, and we missed out on an hour of ski time because of this.

The New Lift has ruined the vibe. They routed it all wrong so now the runs on the Western side of the hill are inaccessable because they refuse to run the cloud front double chair on that side, so while they claim to have 15 open runs at the moment only about 5 are actually accessible from the new lift. Where once you had lovely interactions with employees they now all seem to be inside glass cubicles with talkbox speakers. While this has been my favorite ski hill my entire life, it no longer is, and sadly I probably won't come back. I will vote with my dollars, and I guess Id rather give my money to Powderhorn now.Goodbye Indianhead,It was nice while it lasted.

Came for the new lift, it's awesome! Thin cover at Jackson creek(more like spring)but it's open! Black river had better snow. Unfortunately we didn't stay there because they don't allow dogs. I'll be back when they're fully open

We recently had the most amazing stay at Snow River Resort's hotel, and we couldn't be happier with our experience! From the moment we arrived until the day we left, everything exceeded our expectations. The hotel itself was an absolute delight. The rooms were spacious, well-appointed, and immaculately clean. The comfortable beds ensured a restful sleep, and the stunning views of the surrounding terrain from our room were amazing. The rooms were recently remodeled and they did and outstanding job.We highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a memorable getaway, and we can't wait to visit again in the future!

This place was or will be a nice place to stay when the construction is done but I chose to stay at this place because hey you hear resort. You think it's going to be nice but nope this place was under construction. If I would say anything when you ask a resort or any place that will be hosting guests. If you are going to be going through a large renovation you should just shut down because for a first time her to this resort it was not good at all. As for something as simple as ice, there was no location for ice and if you wanted ice around 8:00 at night you would have to travel at least 2 miles to get ice Will I go back? Probably not. I'll leave everything else up for your guyses to discover pop

No snow yet and it's the end of December. One of the best places to ski in the UP!

Jackson Creek - the hill was amazing and always has been. Trails are very well taken care of, chalet was clean, and enjoyed the day. The lift ticket office was inefficient - ordered tickets ahead of time and still waited in line for 15 minutes to get my lift ticket. The credit card readers for the entire mountain were down the entire day which was not ideal, but I got over it.Black River Basin - trails were in great shape, friendly lift operators, family friendly place. The cafeteria on the other hand was a bit lackluster. Very disorganized. No ticket system for the employees preparing the food so there was no way for the chef to remember everyone s order. 15 minutes for a bowl a chili.Hard to have a bad day on the hill but they could use some improvement with their operations.

I skied there this past weekend. Snow condition was good but extremely disappointed with paying $89 on Saturday at black river basin and only had 2 of the 4 lifts running. Sunday had a similar experience with half the lifts running. Tickets should be discounted as a result. Didnt bother to go in for food as i heard it was poor quality and overpriced. Also 1 less hour of skiing daily as they open at 10 and not 9 like they used to.

Happy lifts were open day after a blizzard. Really fun for snowboarding. Restaurant prices are high. SUPER DISAPPOINTED THAT HELMETS COST EXTRA AND NOT INCLUDED IN SKI PACKAGES. Of all the things that I would have understood to charge extra for, helmets for my kids was not one of them.

Trails were awesome, staff was amazing. Perfect place to go if you are looking for friendly staff and great hills to snowboard/ski. Rental gear was amazing. Can not say enough good stuff regarding the staff and trails. However, the lodging is not very good. Shower was very bad, we didn't really have hot water unless we waited 10+ minutes to run the water. Rooms are very small. Continental breakfast was amazing, food is so good! The lodging and lifts need an update soon. I thoroughly enjoyed my vacation for the weekend. Just could be a bit better on the lodging. Perfect destination for people looking to board or ski! I can not say enough good things about the staff and trails!!!

This was my first time here and my family s first time skiing. No hot tub as advertised , no fireplace in lodge ( said they couldn t put it on die to it being not up to code) no night time skiing. No half day ski pass. Skiing ends at 4pm! Food service ends at 4. Main restaurant was closed. The line to get skis and boots was 1.5 hours. The workers are the rudest people i have ever met. My daughter was getting on the ski lift for her very first time and the bearded worker screamed at her and said if she didnt know how to get on the lift she shouldnt be there. It was her first time! By the end of our trip she was a pro but super embarrassing to her. I was talking to her about it and another family heard me and said that the same guy was so mean to them also. The guy i dealt with in the rental area was awful also. So short tempered and mad at me because i left my skis while i eating in the sky bar and the janitor put them away. He said i should know to put my rental skis in my car. This is my first time skiing and they didnt tell me that how would i know. This place is crazy expensive. The lodge is a dump and not as advertised. The bar down at the bottom of the hill was nice. Both the female bartenders were friendly and welcoming. I would not recommend this resort at all.
