My daughter and I traveled south to do a little mini winery tour together. We chose the Garden Grove B&B because of its location but I can promise you we will be back because of the Bed and Breakfast, not just the wineries!! Hillary was an amazing host! Her recommendations were spot on and the gourmet breakfast brought to our room in the morning was above and beyond our expectations!! Our room was absolutely stunning!! We loved every moment of our trip!! Thanks Hillary!!

We had a lovely time staying at the Garden Grove Inn. As we arrived we were greeted by the vocally expressive outdoor cat Grayson. His enthusiasm foreshadowed the rest of our stay. Hillary and Kelly were warm, welcoming, and happy to share advice on near by destinations. As for the Inn itself, it was beautifully decorated with charming artwork sprinkled throughout. Our room was very clean and also tastefully decorated. Hillary was very attentive to our needs and easy to reach. Overall this bed & breakfast was a great experience and I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay in SW Michigan. Thank you Garden Grove, we loved you! P.S. the breakfast was very tasty!Rooms: Each room has a unique theme.

Garden Grove Inn is our number one B&B choice in Michigan! We love coming up in the summer and have recently started adding a winter weekend to relax, unwind, and slow down. This time we stayed in the Woodlands Room and loved the jacuzzi tub, fireplace and side sitting room. I was able to do yoga on the mat I brought, journaled, read and slept. Breakfast was spectacular, especially the blueberry scones, broccoli-cheddar quiche, and roasted potatoes. Hillary is a lovely host and adds all the details to make our stays delightful!

We had a great experience this weekend at the Garden Grove Inn. The property is in an ideal location. A short drive to New Buffalo and also the wineries in the area and a 10-minute walk to St. Julian and Round Barn tasting locations and the Union Pier restaurants and shops along the Red Arrow Highway. Hillary was a gracious and helpful host. And the breakfasts were delicious. Highly recommend!

First time staying here and we loved it. Hillary was great, very personable, told us about some things to do we hadn't done in all the years coming up here that we will try and made the BEST French toast and egg bites. We loved the unique artistic touches throughout the house (betty white in Rose room rocks), close to some fun wineries and look forward to coming back again in the summer to stay and kayak!

We stayed for our anniversary weekend in the Lavender Suite. The suite was cozy and clean. The host, Hilary, was extremely welcoming and responsive. Her breakfasts were absolutely delicious, a really nice combination of items that everyone would love. The location of the inn was perfect, as it was right along the wine trail. We will definitely be back!Nearby activities: Right by the Michigan wine trail

Hillary is the owner and is so friendly and accommodating! Everything was lovely, all the way down to the small details- robes in the bathrooms, popcorn and movies available, etc. The room was comfortable and clean and cozy! She made us a huge homemade breakfast and delivered it to our room- it was delicious and nourishing! We would recommend this bed and breakfast to anyone looking for a relaxing stay! Also, it s super close to beaches and cute coffee shops and restaurants!

Absolutely ideal scenario: we went for a drive to one of our favorite towns, decided to stay, drove past Garden Grove Inn & called. We not had a selection of very reasonably priced suites to choose from, our host was so so accommodating, setting out s mores & preparing a veggie breakfast platter for us! We will absolutely be coming back. Thanks Hilary!

My husband and I had a wonderful, relaxing stay at Garden Grove Inn! The innkeeper, Hillary, is such a warm and welcoming host. We made the trip to celebrate my birthday, and she had left some thoughtful gifts in our room including a very yummy whoopie pie. So kind! Her recommendations for things to see, eat and explore were spot on, and breakfast was delicious and filling. Our bedroom was lovely the bed was so comfortable, the views out the windows were beautiful and it came stocked with everything we could need. We would not hesitate to stay here again and highly recommend Garden Grove Inn to others as a wonderful lodging option in Union Pier.

Hillary is the most wonderful and genuine host. Her Inn is charming- a respite away from it all. Her food is amazing and her hospitality is unparalleled. She is kind and interested in ensuring your stay meets your expectations. She has great recommendations for things to do in Harbor Country and her Inn is in great proximity to all the fun. Her book clubs and retreats are great too!

Had a wonderful weekend at the Garden Grove Inn. Hilary was exceptional in communicating before, during, and after our stay. The in-room fire place and jacuzzi were luxurious! Hilsry helped book an in-room couples massage with Emily, and it was absolutely perfect. She delivered breakfast to our room each morning and the food was very tasty. I can't wait to go back

We had an absolutely lovely stay here! Our host was absolutely delightful, I wish we lived close by because she's a friend in the making. The room was gorgeous and we were so grateful to find such a nice place that is dog friendly. The breakfast was amazing, absolutely delicious and sinful in the best possible way. We will definitely be back and wish everyone could find this gem for a restorative visit.

I loved every minute of our stay at Garden Grove for a night away! We stayed in the Woodlands Suite which was exceptional. Private, so spacious and yet cosy. The double-sided fireplace made it super cosy on a very chilly March day. The bed was very comfortable too. One thing that stood out was how clean everything was, including the jacuzzi tub. It was as though the room had been detailed before our arrival! I added the lavender salts and highly recommend - made the room smell wonderful too. We had great local ground coffee in our room to make a fres pot, and appreciated the sparkling water in the fridge. Our fresh and delicious breakfast was delivered to our door by Kelli, a lovely team member. The Inn is so convenient for other locations, including the lake, antique shops, great cafes/restaurants. We had lunch at the Social and dinner at the Journeyman (both excellent) and enjoyed a great concert at the Acorn Theatre. I can't think of anything that would have made our stay better. Hillary - you've created a beautiful sanctuary. I hope you're not too busy for us to stay again;-)

The Garden Grove Inn was such a perfect place for our weekend "babymoon" <3 We stayed in the Garden Retreat, one of the pet-friendly rooms, so that we could bring our dogs along with us, and it was so easy to care for them during our trip. Hilary (the owner) was incredibly friendly, helpful, and accommodating throughout our entire stay, and the breakfasts that she served us were all delicious and thoughtful. My husband and I also had scheduled in-room massages, and they were excellent! I so appreciate that the massage therapist was able to do a prenatal massage for me. We definitely will be returning in the future!

I loved staying at Garden Grove. The location is idyllic. I have stayed there twice so far. Once in the main house and 2nd time in the dog-friendly carriage house. Hillary puts such great care into the design, quality, upkeep and accommodations of the rooms. Rustic and elegant. The breakfasts were excellent. (And I also appreciated the complimentary cans of LaCroix). Hillary is also a great guide to the area, offering recommendations on restaurants, beaches, nature walks and other local attractions. My only complaints were that each of my stays were too short! But I look forward to returning.

This was our second time staying at the Garden Grove. This is such a beautiful property. The rooms are clean and well maintained and the fire pit was lovely for the cool fall night. Hillary is amazing. She goes above and beyond to ensure you enjoy your stay. From the delicious breakfast, to providing firewood and s'mores ingredients, to her expertise in local attractions, we could not ask for a better host. If you are looking for a place to stay in southwestern Michigan, look no further.

We first came to the Garden Grove Inn last year, when we were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. We had an absolutely delightful 3 day stay. Our time there was everything we needed including warm welcomes from Hillary (and her purrfect outdoor buddy, Grayson). Breakfasts were delicious as was the coffee provided in our rooms. We loved being outside in the beautiful gardens, as well as in our comfortable and spacious Woodlands Suite. Hillary has thought of everything to make sure you have the best time possible while under her roof!April 2024I thought I had posted the above review and I apologize for not having completed it! We just finished a lovely two day stay at the Garden Grove Inn. It was our second visit with Hillary, and Grayson, a very sweet and friendly outdoor cat. We stayed in the Lilac Suite, next to the first room we had stayed in. It s also very comfortable and has everything one would need, including a nice view of the gardens and the Inn. Breakfasts were still delicious and Hillary warm and welcoming. Once again, we look forward to our next stay!Rooms: We have stayed in two very nice rooms, in a building across from the main house. Both are very comfortable and have everything we need, including a pretty view.Nearby activities: There are so many things to do in this area. The lake, the dunes, hiking, wine, trail, eating at interesting, fun, restaurants and bars, shopping, look up what to do in Harbor Country and you will seeFood & drinks: We always look forward to the breakfasts Hillary makes for us. Having a little chat with her first thing in the morning is extremely pleasant as well. The icing on the cake is when Grayson comes by to wish us a good morning.

We had a great weekend stay in the Sunflower room. My partner, an art historian with impeccable taste (I am not biased), had high praise for the decor - it was absolutely charming. And our hostess Hillary was very accommodating in every way, from an easy slightly early check-in to an early morning breakfast on Sunday before I left for a bike ride. Speaking of breakfasts, they were delicious, and Hillary was super helpful in providing gluten and dairy free options for people with dietary restrictions. We definitely plan to stay again!PS - very friendly cat in residence that will walk you to the door

What a wonderful B and B! The hostess was extremely kind and helpful, she made us a delicious breakfast ahead of time so we could leave on our trip out early. The jacuzzi bath and fireplace were magical especially it being winter. Everything was decorated adorably and the price was super affordable, we will definitely be returning.

We called on the last minute and Hilary was very accommodating. The price was very reasonable and the place is set in a quite setting, the gardens are pleasant and the house is well set out and very clean. We had the luxury of a sleep in as breakfast wasn't too early and breakfast was lovely. Drinks are on offer to help yourself, the only downside is we only spent one night here. Looking forward to stopping by again in the future. Thanks for your hospitality Hillary.Sorry that hubby is in bed on the photo, he was a tad tired.Rooms: The rooms are beautifully decorated and themed.

We so enjoyed our stay at Garden Grove Inn! We had a weekend getaway and it was the perfect location, with plenty to do in the area, despite the rain. The room was cozy, comfortable and quiet. Breakfast both mornings was delicious, especially the berry bake. We hope to return in the future and will definitely recommend to friends and family.

We enjoyed our second visit as much as our first: rooms are comfortable and beautiful; location is convenient to any activities you may wish to participate in; Hillary is welcoming and accommodating to special needs (ranging from an armless chair to food requests); and little touches throughout the main house add to the experience. Thank you, Hillary.Rooms: good variety of types of rooms and price points.
