Came here at the beginning of a winter to get my Catalytic Converter replaced. Porsche (/Volkswagen) uses flex joints on their exhaust that are known to break with time. The car sounded horrible and kinda was embarrassing to drive. I bought the new Catalytic converter off of ebay hoping I can replace it myself. But Michigan rust didn't help and the exhaust bolts were a pain to get to without a lift / heated garage.These guys were honest with the job, I understand how difficult doing something like this is and they charged a reasonable price (I would ask the same kinda money if I had to do this work to someone)They spent 2 days fixing the car and took care of all my concerns. At the end of the day, the car is as good as new and I can probably enjoy the car for much longer than I initially wanted to keep it. (I kinda wish I also had them do a muffler / resonator delete - because the car is extremely quiet now ) I'm more than happy with their service tho. Anything that I can't fix myself, I'll bring it in to these guys.Suggest them for all your car fixes!

The owner Sam an his son.. have been in the same spot for over 16 years not only do they do mufflers they do full auto repair they still do amazing quality trustworthy work if you looking for reasonable prices And excellent work that won t !! Break the bank I suggest coming here whether your car is old or new. U will leave Beyond satisfied Great job guys

Exceptional service at the muffler shop! The owner was incredibly knowledgeable, figured out the problem with my car when the dealership hasn t been able to figure it out for months he was efficient, and friendly. My car sounds better than ever thanks to their expertise. I highly recommend this shop for anyone in need of muffler services or any car services they will bend over backwards to make sure your happy and back on the road

They're very good at general maintenance. If you need muffler jobs or issues with your exhaust system, this place will get the job done at a fair price. However, I prefer attention to detail which is lacking at this place. You'll find improperly fitted fenders, grease/oil on your car, etc. Also, I'd recommend going elsewhere for other repairs like engine work, transmission, cooling system, etc.

From the minute I walked in I knew that they were attending to another vehicle that needed service and I had to wait just a few minutes to talk to a front desk staff member but I understood that the issue from a different vehicle was important to the customer sitting in the waiting area. I truly believe this Company has served the Sterling Heights VFW and American Legion commander very well. I gave them a 5 star rating for a reason

Yesterday I encountered a problem with my vehicle while driving. The plastic under carriage protective covering came partially loose and was dragging on the cement. I stumbled upon The Muffler Man Troy and am so glad that I did. The owner, Sam, displayed exemplary customer service and squeezed me in. His son took care of my issue and I was back on the road within an hour! Great job and much appreciated!!!

I called to ask if I needed an appointment to bring my car in and Sam said, Come on in today and we ll take a look! Sam Jr. was there and works in the garage but is awesome at front desk and customer service. I thought I d have to schedule a future appt but an hour for a same day fix is all they needed. I live close and this place is always busy and for good reason. They know cars, they know who comes in and out of their shop and treat their customers with kindness and hospitality, and they don t rip you off. My mom went to Muffler Man years ago and spoke so highly of them turns out they ve been here for 30 years so it s the same great people that took care of her taking care of me and my car. Customer service, quality, affordability, & kindness are high on my list and this place checked em all off. My car was ready in 40 minutes, 20 minutes quicker!! And my car is back to her quiet, smooth self! I was so impressed I had to throw a high five to Sam Jr. and a huge thank you! This place just go to this place for your car troubles!

The service here was excellent, and Sam helped us out more than we could have imagined. He did a muffler delete on my Jeep Cherokee, and the work was incredible. Henry and the team of mechanics are amazing! They quickly and accurately diagnosed my vehicle issues. I had some noise coming from the exhaust system and rear suspension. They went above and beyond to get me back on the road the same day. If I could give a 0 star I would, service was horrible I took my car to have him take a look at it and get it checked out he told me he couldn t figure out what s the problem because he couldn t hear the noise that is was making and told me to come back when it gets worse and not to waste my money he didn t acknowledge the fact that I told him I was dealing with a few things he didn t want to take a look at it he drove it for like 4 minutes but didn t want to actually check it out or take it inside to have a look or try to figure what s wrong.

I was really happy with the muffler work performed here. They looked at the problem right away. Gave me an estimate. Replaced the needed parts and had the car back to me the next morning as promised. AND, they were able to reuse some parts and saved me money! I would definitely recommend this muffler shop and will return for future auto repairs and maintenance.

I honestly wanted to give this place the benefit of the doubt since its so close to home but its clear to me they just want to scam you of your money. I brought my old car here to get checked after the car had problems accelerating. They told me it was the throttle body so i got that done & it cost me $700. It seemed to fix the problem but only temporarily. About a week later my check engine light comes back on so I call & see if they will look at it again to make sure it has nothing to do with the work they just did. Suddenly, they're telling me that it's my engine & I'd be better off looking for a new car. They told me when I found a new car they would check it out & make sure it was good before buying. I double checked with a different mechanic since I felt like I couldn't trust them but it turned out that I did need a new car. I was still upset that this happened out of nowhere, especially after spending 700 for a car that is useless now. A couple months later, I brought a new car here to get checked out & I was told by Sam's son that it was a good car & only needed new tires, a battery & an oil change. Well, its a decent car but he failed to tell me some pretty big repairs that I needed fixed which could've helped me negotiate the price. Luckily, the tires from my old car are the same kind for my new car but as they knew, my car cannot drive. I called up to see if they could switch the tires between the two vehicles if I got the car towed there. The son said yes for $250 total. I thought that was reasonable given the fact that I could use something from my old car. Well, then he switched it to $200 which I was ecstatic about. When I finally got my old car towed there, he calls me over & tells me that it doesn't start & he can't do it, even though he was well aware of that fact because why else would I get it towed? Not to mention, they're the ones that told me my car was garbage. I was frustrated & told them I would tow it back & basically thanks for nothing. Then, a couple minutes later he asks me how much im willing to pay to get my tires switched. I tell him the last amount we agreed on which was $200. He said I can do it but for $400 so that he can give the workers a tip. I was baffled at how he had the audacity to double the price after he told me there was no way to do it. At this point, im running late to work because he told me it would only take 30 minutes tops. I try to get him to come down to at least $300 but he isn't trying to budge. Eventually we agreed on $350 because I was desperate & didn't have any more time to spare. But guess what? They didn't even take the time to balance the tires. I'll tell you, that was my last straw. It is clear this place only wants to take advantage of you & scam you of your money. I will NEVER come back here & i suggest you don't bring your car here either. It will just be a ripple effect of repairs & money down the drain.Services: Tires, Vehicle Inspection

I took my my car to Sam's shop and I had an amazing experience. The people there are very knowledgeable and they knew exactly how I wanted my exhaust to sound. And of course very friendly people and are very honest. My exhaust was totally rusted through and only the muffler was salvageable - they were able to use that piece and then affix new piping and a new resonator, as well as make a custom mount to the bracket system for my car. They had the needed parts on hand, and the parts were welded together beautifully and solidly. It was quick, the service was super friendly, and the price was great. All in all, I am very satisfied - my car is virtually silent. Sam was awesome. I'll be coming here if any more car troubles face me! Great place!Service: Exhaust

This guy is very incredible to say the least! I have watched him get referral after referral, because of how honest he is. I am a referral myself. Today he went out of out of his way to look at my vehicle regardless of how busy he was to get a diagnostic, so I wouldn t go there for nothing, since it is my only day off. I was a second time repeat customer today, and last time he took very good care of me too. If you are looking for a man of integrity Sam is the guy for you. He said he wouldn t be able to sleep at night if he was dishonest with anyone. That is a gem of quality now a days, since finding integrity is getting rarer by the day.

Stopped in early on a Saturday because 3 other shops I stopped at wouldnt even look at my car until after 11. Owner took it right in and completed the repairs I needed quickly and with good quality. Now my old hatchback is whisper quiet again and ready for the 200 mile road rally I have coming up. Thanks again guys for the great work!

Firstly, I called up here because my muffler had broken in 2 spots, and the heat shield was knocked off. Sam was the man who answered my call, he was extremely friendly and said bring it up. Upon arriving he quickly got my car in a bay and showed me exactly what he was gonna do and how much it was gonna cost. We heard some squeaking coming from the engine prior to the car going up so he examined and noticed I had an almost ripped serpentine belt and basically seized pulleys. He said I will fix it no worry. Sam not only saved me from breaking down on the side of the road but also worked with me on a fair price. I would recommend him for anything. I've been coming here for about a year and have started recommending all my family to this Muffler Man! Recently, I had a very difficult diagnosis and Sam kept the car for over a week and continued to diagnose until the proper solution was found.
