Thank God for these people! My brakes started grinding and crunching on my way home from work midafternoon on a Friday and I was supposed to leave town for the weekend but a quick google search of the sound convinced me it wasn t safe to drive. After calling 4 other places, TCPSG was able to see me same day, replace my brakes while I waited and for less than the 4 other places I called. Highly recommend!

Very knowledgeable mechanics! I had a fantastic experience at Traverse City Public Service Garage when I took my car in to get a wheel bearing replaced.They took care of my needs very quickly. The service was excellent. The price was very fair.I would highly recommend this business to anyone that's looking for a dependable mechanic. 5 out of 5 stars.

I used TC Public Service Garage for the first time today and was very impressed with their overall service. I called for an appointment for brakes on Monday, was in by Wednesday and the work was completed in under 4 hours. They even did a random side job on top of the brakes. Prices were reasonable! The customer service was so friendly, prompt and helpful. I will definitely be going back and will be recommending them to anyone that needs auto work done!Service: Brakes

This garage is absolutely fantastic! My thermostat blew on my Jeep. I had it towed to them late that day. They had it repaired in less than 24 hours at a very reasonable price. Highly recommend them!!Service: Engine repairService: Engine repair

My starter quit at about 1:30p today. The tow truck got my car to these folks around 2:30p They had it done at a reasonable price before they closed for the day. I am very pleased with my experience with them.

My dad started with taking his cars to you when you first opened we now don't go anywhere else I've had multiple cars go to the place and will not go anywhere else! We are always pleased with them!

We were traveling and the car started acting odd about starting. We didn t know what was wrong, but they diagnosed it and fixed it in less than half a day. The car is all better, and we re so grateful we found an honest mechanic.

I am very impressed with their service. My wife had traveled about 2 1/2 hours from Mackinaw City to do some shopping when she went to turn around and the front passenger side lower ball joint had broke. I had to travel the same time to pick her up and take care of the situation. When it got dropped off the receptionist was very pleasant and said it was scheduled for Thursday to be looked at. So on Wednesday she called an said they looked at it and it would be done later that day. Their service was exceptional and not over priced. Thank you so much!Service: Steering & suspension repair

I had my brakes repaired here in 2021. They sold me "premium" brake pads raybestos. They said they don't want me to come back complaining about squeaky breaks. Well that's exactly what happened. I went back after a month with my new brakes squeaking. I don't know if they actually replaced the pads when I brought my car back because they were still squealing every time I break. I called them and left a message and no one called me back. I sent them a message on Facebook and no reply. So I'm stuck. I am going back to Serra motors where I've never had this issue before and I didn't even get sold "premium" ceramic brakes!!!

Absolutely the best! Have been going to these guys for anything out of my hands for years now. They are very knowledgeable about what they do, and do fantastic work! They're prices are fair, and possibly the most important, they are Honest with you. They won't try to talk you into work that doesn't Need to be done, they won't string you along with "if we do this, we have to do that, and this other blah blah blah..." if they tell you something, they mean it, otherwise they will inform you of options you have and help walk through what different options might cost. Also, that have an incredibly warm and inviting waiting room and it looks great. I've never had any problems with any of their work, and have been referring people to them for a long time. So glad they came back after being down for awhile, I honestly wasn't sure where else to go to. A+++

This is hands down the best shop in Traverse City. Honest, quick, and will always work with you. I d trust them from anything from steering to electrical (which I have, and everything has been flawless since). We were visiting the are and my son's truck broke down late on a Friday night. We were able to get it towed to Traverse City Service Garage. We weren't sure if they would be able to fix it on Saturday in time for us to leave on Sunday. After contacting them Saturday morning they jumped on it and figured out the issue. They promised to get it done for us and were true to their word. Shortly after noon we drove away. They were fantastic to deal with and I recommend them highly.

We were visiting TC for a wedding and badly needed new brakes. Very accommodating. They were able to get us in and on our way in less than 1.5 hours. Awesome waiting room too.

We were on vacation in the Traverse City area last week and our brakes started grinding. We googled to find out who did brakes and TCPSG had nearly a 5 star rating so we gave them a call. They fixed our brakes and discovered our pinion seal was leaking and they filled it with fluid to get us through our vacation stating that it would be fine until we got home. We decided to have them fix this problem too as we really didn't have a place to get it fixed at home. Their price was extremely fair and they were very professional. We were camping so we had no where to go while they fixed our problems plus we had our little dog with us. They allowed us to bring the dog with us into the waiting area which was clean and comfortable. We are so happy we had these issues taken care of at TCPSG!! Thanks so much!!

I just wanted to say how amazing these guys are. Today I was heading out to traverse city from Cadillac, and on my way in to town my car started to make some noise. It seemed to be running okay at the time, so I went to the doctors. But, after leaving the doctor's, I realized I needed to have my car looked at before heading home. So, after looking up a few places, I came upon these guys. I'm so glad I did. They took a look at the car and told me my water pump and belt had broken. Knowing I was not going to be heading home anytime soon I asked how long would it take and how much and could they do it that day. They were awesome. They ordered the parts and started working on it right way. Told me it would be 4 hours. Me and my son (2yearsold) got comfortable in the waiting room. After an hour and 30 minutes everything was taken care of and I was able to head home!!!! Just want to Thank Nat for his hard work and fast work you're awesome!!!! And the man running the front desk you're just as awesome!!! Thank you guys!!!

Shops like this are rare these days. Straight to the point with no hassle or upsells. They did great work on my vehicle and for a great price! Very satisfied and happy to have found a reliable shop for my future vehicle maintenance. Thank you Traverse City Public Service Garage!

These guys are great.I've had my Honda in several times for routine maintenance and they do ONLY the work that needs done, all at a reasonable price. I've never felt pressured, and they've even talked me out of unneeded repairs.Very highly recommended.

Good service, friendly people. They were able to get me in on short notice and did a nice job with putting in new brakes. It s never good hearing you need more work than what you re anticipating, but it s encouraging knowing that a quality job was done.

I have used these gentlemen for all my vehicle work for nearly 10 year and could not ask for better people to deal with. They are honest, fair, and qualified for most work. If they are not qualified to do a certain operation/process they will openly tell you and provide a referral to a reputable provider. If they are doing work they will suggest anything else that might need to be considered and never once was it falsely suggested. I could not give them a better recommendation.

The staff at Traverse city public garage was able to help us out on a Saturday and get us back on the road that day. They provided exceptional service at a reasonable price. At a time I f need they came thru something that doesn t happen all the time.

Took our van in to diagnose a sound, I was told that all brake pads where bad, a rotor, and caliper needed to be replaced. The fee was $838 to which I felt was too much and I could do the work. I got home and removed drivers side rear tire and found that the mechanic failed to put the slide pin bolts back in. The price I paid for the parts $270. Not trying to trash talk this business but just wondering WTH?!

I needed new tires and was quoted a price by another shop in town. I stopped in and saw Steve at TC Public Service Garage. He sat down with me and asked me about how I used my car, explained the different types of tires that would suit my needs, gave me the pros and cons of different tires and came back with a price over $250 LESS than the other shop's sale price!!! I sat in the comfort of the leather couches in the waiting room and was able to work on my computer thanks to FREE WiFi! It was a great experience! Thank you TC Public Service Garage!

On a trip to Traverse for the night, we ended up having a horrible shimmy in our car and ended up need a mechanic last minute on a Saturday afternoon. Traverse City Public Service Garage was closing in a hour and they helped us tremendously. Very fast and knowledgeable! Seriously consider going to them for your mechanical needs!
