I purchased a used car from here, I ve taken the car back the first week for an engine light, I just took the car back for the second week because the trunk is flooding whenever it rains. I call the service department to check the status of my vehicle AND THEY NEVER ANSWER THE PHONE. I had to call the person who sold me the car, Eric to help me figure what s going on with my car after two days. He does help me and he s polite and gets me a status report. I still don t have my car and they still haven t worked on it. Call the service department yourself, don t worry they won t answer.

Kept getting the run around every time I called about a recall on my Ford Escape. I kept getting told that they didn t have the parts for the recall and they said to call back in a few weeks. Every time it took 15+ minutes on hold to get through. Finally called a different dealer and they took care of my recall the next day.

Please read entire review . I was a returning customer to this used lot . I was there in 2017 and purchased a vehicle everything was smooth .Unprofessional communication between hunter , and the financing managers.I went back to this dealership to purchase another vehicle and talk about a NIGHTMARE ! Let me explain .. So I inquired about a 2020 ford escape I was original suppose to work with Isaiah ; but the day of driving all the way up there he had to leave early .. Ok so when I walked in I got greeted by hunter .. The car I was coming in to look at wasn t even on the lot . It was down the street getting a new windshield , so I walked In and stated that I was already financed through my bank and because they were a preferred dealer through BOA all they had to do was pull my reference number to get my loan conditions and stuff .. Hunter and one of the finance manager mike were adamant that they can t pull my loan through a reference number LIES ! BOA said they could . Instead this dealership didn t like the fact that I didn t wanna do in house financing they ran a credit application to my bank without my consent and had numbers mixed up which caused my bank to flag me since I was already approved through them ! After back and fourth with hunter and the finance manager I had enough ! They kept asking for tax documents which was in correct since my bank had already did all that ! When I went in today January 13th one of the managers came to talk to me and his exact words were you can t walk into my establishment and expect a car without financing I said sir I m already financed !Needless to say I went across the street to Serra whelan Chevrolet who s also a preferred dealership and guess what ? I walked off the lot with a 2019 Chevy blazer ! And guess what ? They were able to pull my loan through the reference number ! After suburban screwed up they had to call my bank and fix everything! I would not recommend this dealership !! Lost out on 25k because they wanted me to finance through them ! I highly recommend Serra whelan across the street ! Hands down ! Don t waste your time here ! It s gone down hill since 2017! Also when I asked for them to shred my paper work they through it in a locked box instead of actually shredding it ! Stay away ! Gladly took my business else where ! Here s a pic of my new beauty that I got across the street

I bought a 2016 Ford Fusion from this place in February of 2022. Within 6 months the engine had to be replaced. It was under warranty but it took a month to get it done. I've had tire issues, had to get a wheel alignment, replace various bushings and control arms. Now the transmission has gone out and I've had a heck of a time trying to reach the Finance Department to check on my power train warranty. When they finally called me back I waited on hold for half an hour and got hung up on. I believe it's fair to say I bought a lemon. I just want to get out from under this car. It's the worst car I've ever had!

Needed help setting up Ford Pass on the car i had bought in September. The in-car screen indicated i had to contact the dealer. I drove there thinking it was a quick fix. Tom was the manager that evening-he was genuinely friendly and acted right away! He sent me across the street to service and called there asking them to look for me. It was almost closing but Jason Jackson greeted me, explained it probably needed an update that would take a few hours. Jason gave me his card and said to call him in the morning. We were able to set up a time for the next day and done! Great service all around. Thanks Tom and Jason!

To start - as a business owner ourselves, we don t typically like to leave reviews because we know there s always two sides to every story. So, there s something to be said that we re taking the time to leave this review, based on such a poor customer service experience. To sum it all up - this is the type of dealership that calls you on pickup day and tells you that they already sold the car to someone else. They will ignore your ($500) deposit and sell the car for a higher price, since it works in their benefit. The communication between Sales Manager (James W.) and Salesperson (Shawn S.) is very poor & unprofessional. With the Sales Manager even blatantly blaming it on his 20-year-old Salesperson for not having communicated properly with his own boss.Very clear that they value money more than taking care of their customers. As mentioned, not only have they lost our business, but as someone who comes across hundreds of clients a week in our own business, we ll make sure to share our experience with them - especially those in the market for cars. As James mentioned in our last phone call, nothing personal, it s all business .

I should have trusted my instinct not to purchase a used vehicle from a company that prides itself on "volume sales" at any cost. Had a costly issue that wasn't revealed to me until about a year after purchase - a headlight was literally glued into the socket and couldn't be replaced without the entire headlight assembly being replaced. There's absolutely no way I could have known this until after the headlight burned out. Was told hey, sorry man, maybe go to a junkyard for a replacement.Struts started going out after about a year of mild driving as well, oopsie doopsies guess that's on me too.On the positive side, I've been making payments faithfully, my credit score is way better, and I'm gonna trade this thing in soon for something better from elsewhere. Strongly recommend against buying from this dealership.

Overall m very satisfied with my vehicle purchase. Staff was very nice the entire time. Everything went very smooth. My only issue I had was trying to contact my salesman after to ask a question he seemed to just disappear. So that was a bit of a disappointment.

Had a very good overall experience with the dealership. I worked with Hunter Hoppe as the sales rep. & Bryan as SM. At the end of the day we were happy we drove nearly an hour each way over 2 days. We wanted to make sure we did our due diligence and took our time doing research and made sure the vehicle we bought was right for us! At no point did we feel pressured or swindled as some of the other reviews said... They understood the first vehicle was not as good of a match as we wanted. Upon leaving the first day Bryan mentioned there was another vehicle that had become available as we were preparing to leave and it was simply a suggestion as we had a specific model and year we wanted... Only having a short window of time we took it for a quick drive and actually really enjoyed it but had no time to do research it to make sure it's history and safety logs checked out. After our brief 2nd vehicle test drive we had said we liked that car... But had no more time left as we had another appointment. The Manager said, no worries I totally understand we want you to be in a vehicle you are comfortable with and feel good about wether it is with us or not, take your time and we will hold the car, no deposit for you if you would be able to come back in the morning tomorrow? We of course said sure... There was an opportunity for me to do my research to make sure it was what we wanted and it was a good and safe purchase for my son as this was his first car! He saved up for 2 years and paid cash for it!! $8200 is a lot to pay for a used car but the actual value and price was spot on based on our research. They had replaced front brakes, major front end steering components and put new tires on as well... We felt comfortable with the vehicle that it was safe and was a worth while purchase!!! We were out the door after a couple of hours of paper work and detailing the vehicle and all the things that go with buying a vehicle now.... Listen, I read a lot of the reviews before I even made my initial trip out... We spent over 3.5 hours in just driving back and forth over 2 days and it was worth it! I feel a lot of individuals see dealerships as a negative experience or that they are out to get you..... I am sure things happen and no one is innocent of mistakes, but as long as a consumer takes their time, does their research, pays attention to what is actually going on and is a good stuard of the process things will be fine. You are buying a USED VEHICLE.... AS IS. It is really that simple. If you say yes why would they say no? It's up to the consumer at the end of they day to pay attention to what your doing and what your buying. The terms are laid out in plain sight..... You have to sign a form BEFORE you can even get the keys saying THIS IS BEING SOLD AS IS WE OWE YOU NOTHING AND IT IS NOT COVERED UNDER ANY WARRANTY.... This is about as simple as it gets y'all..... If you have an issue after you drive it off the lot it is now YOUR issue. I know that can sound harsh but I knew that going into this and understood the rules. If I wanted something different I could have spend 4x the price and bought new and then I could have expected a warranty and expected everything to be perfect. At the end of the day I am very happy with Hunter Hoppe and the team at Suburban Ford of Sterling Heights (Used). I hope this helps anyone considering shopping here in the future.Cheers,John C.Fenton MI

Buyer Beware and don't make the mistake I did and buy a used car from Suburban Ford of Sterling Heights. Less then 2500 miles and it has been in the shop several times for over a month. Overpriced used car, defrost did not work, alignment was off, rear suspension clank and poping for a recall that was never done, bad front wheel bearing, leaking front axle seal, leaking rear main, leaking trans cooler lines, bad rear wheel bearing and that is so far. The cost to fix this overpriced car and the rental car I had to get so I could go to work should serve as a warning to you, don't make the mistake I did! Buyer Beware!

Buyer beware! Before purchasing a vehicle from this dealership be sure to Google the VIN number. You have a good chance of locating the auction it was purchased from, the price it sold for and if there was damage (most likely it was in an accident) to the vehicle. Don't get scammed.

Just got a truck last week. The truck is doing good so far. The only thing i will advise others if they finance. Read contract. They will try to make you think you need the extended warranty and gap warranty together to get financed...not true that is illegal. It will cost you over $3500 plus interest almost 5 grand more to your actual vehicle price that is not including the actual interest charge. Its always optional. The charges totaled after financing double the cost of the truck itself. Your better with cash payout, if you can or find your own financing place for better deal. It wrong to make people believe these things or not even mention a thing until your at the table signing. Read everything before signing so you know all that your paying for. They aren't honest and rip off people if it happen to me.

My salesperson was fantastic, by far the most helpful amongst other dealerships I traveled to. I was beyond happy throughout the buying process, even after 2 weeks of having my newer-used vehicle. It took a turn though when I got my loan information, I saw the amount/balance was far different than what I agreed upon with the financial department. Turns out, everybody gets a $199 reconditioning fee for cleaning before picking up the vehicle, and there is no offering- it is mandatory and non refundable. The roof of my car though is pretty dirty still, but there was no conversation to be had about that it is what it is basically. The kicker was the extra $2,000 for something I had never heard of and defiantly was not brought up during my paper signing with the financial department, being for interior and exterior protection plan- which EVERYBODY gets applied towards the vehicle apparently. I called the dealership multiple times before I was able to get a call back. They (almost) did the right thing in the end but I will never recommend them to anybody else due to the hassle and sneakiness of these additional charges.

We set up a test drive and when we got there they told us that it was a "mechanic special" and would need to be towed out because it was not running . How are you gonna set up a test "drive" and the car doesn't drive? We mentioned it would have been nice to know and that that information should be on the website. The sales person was condescending about it and showed it said this on his screen. Well, it did say that, but not on Auto Trader. I think that it is important to put that info across all your listings and if you are too lazy to do it at least have the integrity and decency to let the customer know it doesn't run when you set up a test drive! Ridiculous!!! Also, if you know the customer is going to the used car lot which is located on the otherside of Van Dyke it would be nice to let them know so they don't have to drive around trying to find it. Is it so hard to text the proper address? Lazy, rude, terrible dealership!! Wish I could give zero stars!!

5 stars. Michael is the sales guy to go through. We just purchased a Ford Escape and from start to finish he made the experience a smooth and positive one. The day after we purchased we discovered a large dent in the roof of the vehicle. I contacted him and he worked it out for us to bring it back in at our convenience and for their shop guy to take care of it for us. We are more than pleased with the customer service we received and highly recommend using this dealership and Michael especially.

This was my first experience financing a vehicle and it was nothing short of wonderful. William Patterson was my salesman, and he was exceptional! He was honest about his input on each vehicle I looked at. He had a very detailed knowledge of every vehicle I was considering and answered every question I had with ease. I had no idea what I was really looking for other than an AWD SUV, and I went with the 2020 Ford Escape. We had some hiccups with the bank due to my address recently changing and William was willing to patiently work with me as we got it sorted out. He was truly great to work with! Jason helped with all of the financing, warranty, and actual signing of all of the documents and he was awesome as well. He definitely also helped me feel more comfortable with the process and was very personable! I m super excited about my purchase and very satisfied with the customer service at Suburban Ford. Thanks guys!

My first time Financing a vehicle. I put a $4,000 down on a 2012 Chevrolet Equinox that was sold as is for $8,600. I asked for a warranty that was an additional $2,000. I was told by the sales consultant that the vehicle passed the inspection it is a great running vehicle. I had the vehicle for 18 days and that evening I was driving home on the freeway and the vehicle started to shutdown. My life was in danger I came off the freeway immediately. Next morning I called the dealership, I had the vehicle towed to the service department to be serviced. I was told that something was going on with the engine. Now I don't want the vehicle. Because feel like they sold me a vehicle that was already having problems. I spoke with a manager about returning the vehicle he said they don't do returns the only thing he can offer me is a trade in. I don't want anything from your dealership y'all are lying about these vehicle. My warranty didn't pay for the repairs they charged me the pay for them. I got pick up my vehicle and it want start. Now I am furious I am angry. I paid for the work and my vehicle won't start. They don't seem to know what going on with the vehicle. I had my vehicle towed back home the next day. I am going to take my vehicle to a Chevrolet dealership.

I was having issues with a vehicle I had purchased back in September of 2019. I definitely needed a different car. When I spoke with Caleb Herrera (Finance Manager) over the phone he assured me that they could work with me the best that they could to help me into a new car. At that point I was placed into the trusted care of Ashley Burgess (Sales Consultant). Wow she is awesome. Her attentiveness and attention to detail was amazing. On Monday (6/8/20), Ashley talked me through options, listened to what I was looking for and had me test driving the perfect vehicle. Today (6/10/20) Ashley, Caleb and Anthony Mazza (Finance Manager) got me financial approval for my new car and I was able to drive it home. All of these people went above and beyond my expectations. I buy all my vehicles from here. Great selection, and wonderful staff!

My experience could have been better. The salesman was blah. He didn't introduce himself or even shake my hand when I arrived. We sat there in silence the whole time I was there. I had to ask if we were done after he submitted myapplication to the finance department because he didn't say anything. I would have gotten a vehicle from there but my first encounter was horrible. This guy didn't even walk me to the door when I left. I do not recommend Mike C.UPDATE: My experience was so horrible that I decided to contact the manager Brian. He apologized several times and asked me to come in. He said he'll work along side with another salesperson to handle my case. Brian assigned Tara to me and she was great. Today's experience was so much better.

If you want a wonderful sales person ask for Alexander Arnold in used vehicles. He is not a pushy salesperson, Very down-to-earth, goes over and beyond to help you and very attentive. The young lady who took care of the financial portion of the loan and sale was most helpful. After shopping around for a vehicle for a week and a 1/2, with many pushy sales people, I would strongly suggest this dealership. If you want a good vehicle fair price and wonderful people to work with, while purchasing a vehicle this is the place.

I went to this dealership last March. It seemed like the vehicle was fine, however when I got home, the side mirror was damaged. And then the check tire pressure light went off, only to find out that the tires were leaking air because they weren t put on correctly. Then the check engine light went on, only to find out the engine needed to be sealed. And of course when I went to get the vehicle serviced and also bought the extended warranty, I have been told they don t take it and I needed to go to a Buick dealership because they only deal with fords. Then I went to the Buick dealership and they told me they don t take the warranties at the Ford dealership because they screwed them over so many times. And now my tire pressure is always low. They scam people.

Incredible experience. Tony, our salesman, was thorough, communicated well, and went the extra mile. Manager was great and appreciative of pur business. We received emails & calls to keep us in the loop during the process & even received a followup call to check in. Not impressed with the finance guy.... Stereotypical smooth talker trying to sneak you into something you don't need. Kept checking his watch like we were holding him up. But not a deal breaker for future purchases.

Traded in my paid off 2016 Ram big horn. Ended up buying a 2015 Dodge Journey with 67,000 miles on. After not even a month the check engine light comes on it ended up being coils and plugs. This place was unwilling to help at all service couldn t give me a price over the phone, I just don t understand how there isn t a 30 day warranty after buying a vehicle. They told me I had a 3 month engine and Trans warranty but the coils and plugs aren t covered. How aren t they covered when I need to take the whole top of the engine off just to get to them. Anyway it s fixed now, I did it myself but definitely unsatisfied and let s not even speak about the sales experience absolutely terrible place for anyone to take their vehicle or purchase .I ll never return here and I ll be sure to spread the word

Nathan was very friendly and helpful in our purchase. All the staff we talked to were very friendly. It wasn t a painful experience; however, it was long. 4 hours from when we walked into the door till we drove out. Place was busy so we had to wait awhile to speak to the finance guy. Good price for the car. I m satisfied with the experience.

Nick and the sales team gave the best customer service experience I've seen at a dealership. Genuinely honest about the vehicles on their lot. So many cars to choose from it's crazy! Found my family the perfect vehicle for a great price. Worked out a reasonable payment plan. Everything I could ask for.

Good prices, but customer service is a nightmare. I had to make two extra trips to the dealership just to sign the contract, on the second trip I was told they would do something to make up for their mistakes, and they did nothing. Almost immediately after signing, my car has two leaks, and they did absolutely nothing.

Everyone was friendly and helpful during the sales process, that is until the end. I purchased a used vehicle from out of state and when we returned the necessary documents to have the title transferred to my state of residence they lost the paperwork. I became aware of this when I called a week later to check status. Now, my temporary paper tags have expired and it seems that no one wants to speak to me. I call and leave voicemails and receive no return calls. I call and request to speak to a human and all I get is voicemails, and run-around about who should help me (the original sales rep has nothing to do with the title process). With tenacity and persistence I spoke with someone who says that the title is being processed and being sent to my state. I explained that if I have a tracking number for the title when it is sent to my county of residence I can work to register the vehicle. They are supposed to call me back!?

If I didn t love the city of Sterling Hts I wouldn t given them zero star. THIS PLACE WILL LOW BALL YOU!!! I was offered only $200 for my SUV for trade in. That was a slap to the face..thank you! It had a lot of miles, but it was in good shape. The tires alone was worth about $500 & it only had about 10k miles on it. Blue Book trade in value had it for around $800-$1500. They won t compare prices or try to match it either. Friendly staff, but won t cut you a break on prices. In the end I was able to find a dealership that gave me a trade in closer to $1300. I will probably go back to them in the future. I won t be going back to Suburban & won t recommend anybody to this place. Do your homework & good luck on your used car search!
