I asked to have work done and they kept telling me they know more about MY car than me, when i have owned the same exact car with the similar work done just at a different shop. My response: look it up you can SAFELY run up to a 100 shot, I m not trying to go higher than 75 and even IF the motor blew I said I would replace it because I plan on doing so anyways, I just wanted the kit set up and installed. The trans and the motor can handle the extra boost in power

Got a whipple supercharger from them very nice people but I don t think they are very honest I took my car back to them 3 times cause of stuff messing up on it and then they said my transmission lines were leaking when they never leaked when I had the car they just started leaking after they did the work on my car and I had to come out of 1100$ extra on it and on top of all that the whipple supercharger I bought from them they said did not come with a cold air intake when I did research on it they said it does come with it I m not really happy I m giving 1 star only cause they were a bunch of liars and then took it back over there and they charged me 3500$ to fix my car and I paid them they said if it does not fix the problem they would give me my money back and then I got the car back and it did not fix the issue they said no refunds and charged me for so much extra stuff I never said to change this place is a scam and will steal parts from your car as wellService: Auto engine tuning

Have used their dyno for NASA certifications and some dyno time to have someone remote tune my car on a few occasions.Dave always makes sure I m set up and have everything I need. If I have a question he s always ready to drop what he s doing and help.Chris at the front desk makes sure they charge fair for the dyno time but doesn t stick it to you like some other shops.Stand up crew and would highly recommend these guys!

***my response**If your engine builder was out of town "WHY" was it not once mentioned in conversation(s) with Chris ? Why did he "keep" leading me on with. I'll call you in few days or call you tomorrow for 5 weeks ? And never once returned a call never once builder out of town...never at time of engine drop off anyone mention builder out of town ?...hmmm ?Very disappointed with the person representing the shop (Chris)...I went to see talk /interviewed 5 shops before deciding on DPG, only to be let down by broken promises and not 1 bit customer care after my bb 454, transmission were dropped off for a enginge build & swap in my C3 Corvette. Run around after run around, "I'll call you....NO call back !I call them again.... I'll call you back with estimate almost done he says...NO call back, I call again due to no call back ever !...not once from Chris, well after 5 weeks of this I'll call you and never doing so. I was done ! No customer service by the person that represents the shop. I hope Dave the owner reads this and contacts me. I took my buisness elsewhere (read that again Chris), mind you this is the short simple version. Will scam you by fixing something that s not even wrong with the car after you tell them that s not the problem and charge you for it then say they will refund you if that didn t fix the problem just to say they will give you credit once you go back and tell them that didn t make the car drive any better than before you brought it in I wouldn t recommend this place to anyone

Great shop. They will do the mechanic check after oil change and show you what is wrong. They also keep your car clean when they do the work. The only difference is they use the mileage when they do the work rather than next oil change mileage.Update 100518:I just found they used the wrong oil. For my car it should be 5w-30 but they used 5w-20. I m not sure if it will make anything wrong but I would like to follow the manual.Update 101518:They didn t rotate the tires either as the lady told me.

My job use this place to repair our work vehicle. Normally get vehicles back the same day or next day. Nice staff here now getting a tire fix

I would highly recommend Dobson. I just went in for an alignment, same day in and out. Very knowledgeable and genuine people! They expressed their concerns and gave suggestions based on their findings. Pricing was VERY reasonable not to mention the quality (they included before and after). I would recommend Dobson to anyone wanting above average work/customer service, at below average prices.They even reached out a few days later to ensure everything was up to standard.10/10Service: Wheel alignment

Brought my C5 Vette in running awful. Received it back a week later running perfect. Car is a base FRC which I put an ls6 top end, Texas Speed camshaft, intake/exhaust/gears/etc. Tuned myself until I lost MAF and IAT inputs due to wiring issues I could not figure out. The Jake's team diagnosed the issues, corrected, and updated my tune on the dyno. Great service, easy to work with, and quality results. Not cheap, but you get what you pay for. Thanks guys!

These guys are great. Extremely professional and knowledgeable on their trade. I had gone to 4 well known locations to align my wheels, and because my Charger is lowered, they sent me away. Only Dobson Performance Garage was able to align my wheels and provide me with a diagnosis for my suspension issue. The service was quick and the price unbeatable. They tell you up front what you are expected to pay for the service without any surprises. I will definitely refer them to family and friends, and for you, future customers who read these reviews. Brung in my supercharged Mustang Cobra to set the timing and was charged 241.92 and discovered they messed up the firing order. That Is why my car was popping and stalling with SPOUT plug in and out. Just paid 240 dollars for Stabbing my distributor to BTDC... Straight Rip off..

I have elantra n and these guys are willing to put performance parts on my car. Nice guys and great work on my downpipe. Elantra n downpipe was supposed to be 9 hour install on sixth element website. They did it in under 8 hours. Sounds like a monster. Elantra n & veloster n guys and girls come here and they will get to know are N'S even better & get them even quicker

Dobson Performance lost a customertoday . I understand everyone needs to make money . However, a 75% up charge on your part you were installing ? I wasn't born yesterday ! Your excuses might work on other customer's . 1967 383 engine with air conditioning. Takes 4 belts . You wanted to charge me over $200. Not including installation charges. I called other auto parts stores and the most expensive parts for regular belts were $65.00 . Dobson Performance lost future work from me. They could have made thousands of dollars from working on my cars ! Keep making excuses. Services: Auto engine diagnostic, Oil change

Jake's is great! Never a bad experience. They have always been nice, professional and are extremely knowledgeable. I like that it's family owned and operated and don't make me feel like I'm "just another customer". I live in the area and they are always honoring coupons for their services. They actually educate me and make me feel comfortable. I get all my oil changes done here. I highly recommend them.

Called and got my car in for front and rear brakes. Dropped off the car at one noon and when finished the owner delivered to my place of work. This place is fair and extremely knowledgeable. Hands down one of the best places to take your car! The staff is extremely knowledgeable and nice and caring and listen to your needs. I have been In the car industry for a long time now and I understand why this company is still in business they treat you right and are honest ,as well as being extremely knowledgeable about cars. They have taken care of me and I'm glad I have found my new shop to take all my cars and my friends and family. It's hard to find a honest shop that cares about you and your car. You don't need to look anymore this is the best place for your car and your piece of mind.

First time around took it in price was reasonable and everything went smoothly. Second time around I take my truck in for a new radiator and every single part used was marked up an extremely large amount. I understand everyone has to make money but charging 100$ more for a radiator is not justifiable when already charging me for labor. 20$ a gallon for coolant that cost 10? 18$ for a radiator cap that cost 5$? Then another 40$ in misc shop supplies? Quick service but not worth the up charge.Service: Engine repair

Took my Mustang Cobra in to Jake's for an alignment after replacing the factory steel K frame and lower control arms, with a tube K frame, a arms , cool over struts kit and bump steer kit. Dropped it of late morning and they had it ready for me late afternoon the same day. Car drives straight as an arrow and the price was very reasonable. I highly recommend Jake's Automotive.

My experience at Jake's Automotive was a very pleasant one. We were getting ready to leave on vacation and found that our air conditioning was not working. We have always gone to Jake's for everything, so we stopped by, the parking lot was full of regular cars and a lot of hot rods and muscle cars...but they were so good to get us in right away given we had the kids and dog all loaded up and ready to leave...lol...found it to be a simple fix and off we went in no time. We were serviced professionally and with a fair price and a 2 year 24,000 mile warranty. The lobby was clean and inviting and the service staff took great care of our Family...Thanks Jake's we had a wonderful time all the way Up North and back..

The owner Chris is amazing. It's nice to have a trusted local auto guy. I took my jeep to a few places asking them for some work on it, and none of them would do any of the work let alone know what they were doing. I needed my suspension adjusted on my coilovers and he called the guys who made them for measurements and figure out what the hell he was doing.They did quite a bit of work on my rig and he was always honest and on time. From something small like oil changes to new exhaust and engine work this is where I'll be going. Big clean shop, handy, crew, great location. If you're sick of the other guys giving you the run around and taking your money, bring your vehicle here and save yourself some money and know that the employees here are good people.

I asked if they offered a senior discount and Nick at the service counter say yes. " We double the price because they don't know any better." I thought he was just kidding. They charged me $230 for parts that cost less than $50 then overcharged the entire job. They used to be good some years ago. Big rip offs now!

Excellent job. Excellent service. This location family owned. Went to other auto places before. Owners either died or got new managers. Not like the good ol' days. This place reminds me of them. Older staff here makes a huge difference. I'm gonna be 56 this March. They keep up their shop too unlike the others which are old and smelly or new high end. But it's not fancy like the high end shops. I would give 10 stars if I could. Located off Van Dyke between 19 mile & Hall rd. Well worth trying it out. I was born and raised in Sterling Heights and have pretty much been to every shop within a 5 mile radius over the years. And the 2 ladies in the office are great! They pick on you like your in the family! (just kidding, they are very nice). What's that old commercial saying "Try it, you'll like it!"

These are your guys in the area.Prices are reasonable and fair, maybe you can find cheaper, but you might regret it. I've had the same EXACT work done by Jake's and by someone else, and the Jake's work actually fixed the problem.They are professional and their staff is friendly, they've got the same people working their for years, which is a good sign.You could do more research, but you're wasting your time.I'm a grownup whose had cars for over 30 years, I buy new used cars and drive them until they die--I don't like giving my money to banks. I used to work on my cars myself; I've rebuilt motors, changed clutches, changed water pumps, fuel pumps, brakes, CVJs, etc.Jake's is my auto shop.

I have been going to them for oil changes and other minor things with our vehicles for years! They are always fast, friendly, and they remember me when I come in! I've watched how they interact with other customers and it's always prompt and professional! I would recommend them to anyone and everyone!
