Horrible service when I got there, it took 10 minutes before anyone came to the front. Everyone was in the back having a conversation I said hello a couple of times the second time someone finally came out the car that they gave me look like it had been in an accident. It had not been washed. The inside is dirty as you can see, very bad customer service corporate needs to take over this location. The office is dirty. Chairs are dirty walls are dirty. Corporate should be ashamed that they sell to let this location. Looks like it does and for customers to pick up cars that are raggedy.

Don t be surprised when you walk in to see the type of people you re dealing with. All the other reviews speak for themselves. Terrible attitudes and as lazy as they can be. Rented a Tesla for top dollar and they handed it over to me filthy. After arriving back to my hotel I tried to use the windshield solvent and it was completely empty. Warning light on the screen showed all tired low on air. 32 psi and supposed to be 42. Photos as proof. Called the location to let them know and they laughed and hung up on us. Corporate knows how bad this location is yet they do nothing because they are desperate for what ever help they can get. Hertz is not a quality company.

Horrible customer service and i wish I would have read the reviews before I rented from this particular location.The young woman that handled my rental check out displayed horrible customer service. She told me they didn't have the size I reserved and that I would have to pay more money to get the size that was available. Who does that??!I've been a Hertz renter for years and have never been told I would have to pay more for a different sized vehicle because the location didn't have the size of vehicle I reserved. When I told her that as well as telling her it's not the customers fault if the location doesn't have the size of vehicle that was reserved, she insisted that I would have to pay for the upgrade. At that point, I asked to speak to a manager. She pointed at a man that was on speaker phone talking loudly to another customer about why the deposit had not been returned back to his credit card from an insurance rental (a clear violation of that customers privacy - everyone in lobby heard the whole conversation).Anyhow, I told her I would wait for him to get off the phone. She got up and left the desk without saying anything. The manager also left the lobby and went through the door in the back of the office. About 5 mins passed when she came back to the desk and said very dryly, "179.67". That's it...no other words...so I wasn't sure what she was talking about. I asked her if she was going to tell the manager that I wanted to speak to him and she replied and said she already spoke to him. I asked her if he told her that I didn't have to pay higher price due to the difference in the vehicle size. She replied dryly again with "yes".When I returned the vehicle, the manager was there and I told him about the situation. His reply was "well, she's new". He said it as if that excuses her attitude and willingness to ask him (on her own) if the information she was giving me about having to pay more for the vehicle was accurate. As a new employee, if you re being questioned by a customer, best practice is to ask the manager about the situation or at least have the manager come speak to the customer. Imagine had I been a first time renter...I may have accepted what she was telling me and then paid the extra money...imagine how many customers she may have charged extra money when she shouldn't have.I was outdone with her customer service skills and never plan to go to that location again.I decided to let Hertz customer service know directly via the survey however, no one reached out to me so I emailed corporate customer service and they just apologized and sent the information to the manager at the location (as if).When a company is not accommodating with a refund - even if partial - and only offer an apology, then they condone the poor behavior of their employees.

At first it didn't look good. I was told to hope and pray a vehicle would be available for me. At 5:20 thank GOD, the 2 representatives was able to find me one. That's why I gave five stars!!!!!

If I could give a rating lower than 1 star I certainly would. I'm in the process of calling corporate because of the terrible service I received here. The manager Sal who refusd to state his last name when asked gave away my rental and expected me to understand because they had double booked for someone he claims booked the van 2 months prior. He refused to compensate me in any way after telling me I would have to wait 2 hours past my booking time for him to locate another vehicle from another location. Terrible customer service I wouldn't send anyone here to this hertz location. Other locationsare suberb.

I ve rented here over the last few years and have had nothing but good experiences. I was just there recently and Sydney, was professional and friendly. They gave me a new GMC Terrain that was very clean. Surprised to hear the negative reviews. It is a small office and sometimes you have to wait in line there.

Terrible service, they said my car was returned and I was all set with the return. 5 days later I get a charge for the vehicle still being rented. It took months to get my money back for their mistake. What a headache this location is

Dropped my car off at collision shop my insurance company had me go here. Will not go back. I drive a luxury SUV. All they could offer for rent was a Chevy Spark. Small enough for my 11 year old grandson to drive. Asked for bigger car told there's an upcharge so no way unless I paid $5-$15 additional dollars a day. My insurance company is paying isn't it best to make the customer happy? Not at this Hertz I voiced my complaint upon return so sorry manager wasn't there. The young lady who received the car back heard the brunt of my frustration. It wasn't her fault she was sweet. While there, new customer walks in rents his car told he is getting a FREE upgrade and got a water immediately. I was not offered water there or any extras. I guess Hertz treats local customers different? Will not go back there ever. Told them Enterprise is much more accommodating down the street.

The staff at this location have very unprofessional and bad attitudes. They treat you in a very demeaning way, their body language is not welcoming, when they talk to you they speak as if you are incompetent and not worth their time, and they don t take the time to accommodate you, even if you are a gold member. After thousands of dollars spent with this company, I feel completely baffled to have been treated this way. And unfortunately I m not the only customer who has felt this way. They need a completely different staff, otherwise I will spend my money else where. The main issues I ve encountered have been from the women that work at this location. I ve already called hertz complaint line to make them aware of the situation. If they don t do anything about, I will be contacting corporate.

Been coming here for a while and yesterday was the worst experience for a few reasons.1) lady who tried to help me didn't even tell me what type of car I was getting2) she ran my CC without even telling me not just what type of car I was getting. Didn't even tell me it was Electric.3) now I don't have a car and can't get one because my money was taking out of my cc avaliable balance and have to wait idk how long for it to clear. I was told 24 hours, it's passed that now and still not cleared.Just a very unfortunate and disappointing experience I didn't have to go through and hoping no one else has to go through because of this review. Basic.

Disgusting ride car smelled like mold and rotting food, spilled drink and who knows what else all over the car. They didn't even attempt to clean this car. This is a health hazard and these people should not be in business. Dealing with corporate was an even worse experience. Go with literally any other rental company.

I recently had a rather disheartening encounter at this Hertz rental location that left me feeling frustrated and disenchanted with the company. While I have generally had positive experiences with Hertz in the past, the staff at this particular branch were remarkably dishonest and lacking in professionalism.Firstly, despite reserving a car in advance, I was made to wait for over two hours before finally being provided with a vehicle. This level of inefficiency is simply unacceptable, especially considering the meticulous planning and anticipation that goes into making a reservation. I had expected a seamless experience, but unfortunately, this was far from the reality I encountered.What made matters worse was witnessing other customers who arrived after me being given vehicles before me. It was truly baffling to see the staff blatantly disregard the order in which customers arrived, creating an unfair and unjust system. As a result, I was left waiting unnecessarily, feeling frustrated and undervalued as a customer.Adding insult to injury, the staff at this location attempted to enforce arbitrary rules that directly contradicted the information provided on Hertz's official website. When I politely pointed this out, they seemed unfazed and unapologetic, further exacerbating my disappointment. The lack of transparency and integrity exhibited by the staff was utterly disappointing and undermined my trust in the Hertz brand.While I understand that occasional delays and mishaps can occur, it is the response of the staff that truly defines the customer experience. Unfortunately, the employees at this particular Hertz location failed to uphold even the most basic standards of honesty, efficiency, and customer service. Their behavior left me feeling unheard, mistreated, and disrespected as a valued customer.In conclusion, my experience at this Hertz rental location was marred by the unprofessional and dishonest conduct of the staff. The excessive waiting time, unfair prioritization of other customers, and attempts to enforce non-existent rules were all major disappointments. I hope that Hertz takes this feedback seriously and takes appropriate measures to address these concerns, as they tarnish the otherwise positive reputation of the company.

Staff at this location were being very dishonest, charged me close to double the price then stated on the initial reservation , and gave me a worse car then I reserved. In addition to making me wait close to 2 hours.In general I have had good experiences with Hertz, but the staff at this location were acting very dishonest, I would suggest trying one of their other locations such as Ferndale or Royal oak.

Very dishonest staff and manager.I came there on Friday morning to pick up the car I reserved online, and they told me that they are having a shortage of cars and they are bringing some from the airport - which is still acceptable - but when the first car arrived - a Cadillac - they gave it to the guy who came after me when I asked them why am I not the one to get the first car they told that he reserved this car, so I turned to him and I asked him if he reserved a luxury car he told me - in front of the lady at the desk - that he didn't, so after she searched up his reservation which was "managers special" which means that the car you get is decided upon pickup, so it is the cheapest option, so she said that this is the car that the manager chose for him so that is the car he reserved do I had to wait till they got me a Camry over two hours after my reservation timeAvoid this location, Hertz is a great company with great staff at their Madison Heights and other locations but avoid this one if you want to have a good experience

By far the worst car rental location I ve ever dealt with. Sal Mosleh was extremely unhelpful. We looked at the pictures of the vehicle that I pick up showing it being dirty. It was covered in what I assume we re cigarette ashes. It had a strong odor!! I spent an hour of my time cleaning it. I attempted to contact the location numerous times to have the issue resolved as I couldn t wait for another vehicle up on my pick up due to a meeting that I had immediately after. Upon return of the vehicle heading back to the airport I was asked to have the vehicle detailed or pay a ridiculous $400 cleaning fee. Sal and his associate manager Moe Saleh seemed to find it amusing that there was nothing I could do. A suggestion of missing my flight was ridiculous and not something to laugh at. One of the worst experiences I ve ever had with a car rental location. I would rent from any other Hertz location but this one.

I reserved a car online. They sent me the confirmation code. I took an Uber there to pick up my car. Once I got there, the lady at the front desk asked me for my reservation, after she check my name she than said she don t have anymore cars available which I see the card I reserved at the lot outside.If she didn t have cars available which is clearly incorrect, she would of said it at the beginning when I first walked in. She had a very bad attitude and poor customer experience.I called hertz telling them the issue, they rebooked a car for me at a different location which I took an Uber there again for another $40. Once I got there, they had the same issue.Poor customer service.

This has been the worst rental experience ever. The customer service is horrible. I was charged more than the quoted rate through my corporate discount. They didn t close out my reservation so their system tried to place another hold on my credit card which caused a fraud alert by the card company. My card was closed so now I have to get a new card and there system still hasn t closed my reservation after I handed the keys the rental attendee and agreed to an email receipt. I will never rent from this location again.

I ve had a few positive experiences all of a sudden that has went down hill. Do not rent from this location!!! It s no point of reservation they ll still let you book and give your vehicle away. Everything about this location is BAD try it and see for yourself if you don t believe me!!! I will never rent from this specific location again. They barely even clean their cars and it s too many guys that s doing bad business behind hertz anyways

This has to be the most ghetto car rental I ve dealt with. First of all the car they gave me was dirty, the exterior was not washed and the interior had dust and some sort of white stuff stuck to the seat also the car had a bunch of scratches on it and the bumper looked like it was hit or damaged before. Only reason I took the car was because I had things to do and was running behind. I called every day for a replacement because I was unhappy with the car but was always told they would call me when something was available, I NEVER received a call. Then today I called to ask about extending the rental and was put on hold for 30 minutes. I hung up and called back and the girl I spoke to had an attitude like I was bothering her. The amount of money I m paying for this old 2017 car, poor customer service, and bad attitudes does not sit well with me.Update: Today I called for an updated amount on what will be charged to my credit card since I was lied to and told I could change the billing method after I turned in the car, I VE BEEN ON HOLD FOR OVER AN HOUR!!! How is this acceptable?

Horrible experience.. I felt like you don't take what I'm offering it's taken personal...Games,attitude and poor service...This is what I encountered renting..Upon returning vehicle I would have just dropped off the keys and car but I did not trust that process..So I go in before work and first one there and was made to wait while the hertz rep. played on the computer like she was checking me out. I finally asked her could she email me the receipt..She said yes..Do you think I got it yet?I figured someone wrote a note saying difficult customer..I was relieved when I received a email from my insurance company that they were paid...I was in fear of oh there was damage or scratches on the car.. Games, attitude and poor service. Won't go to this Hertz until the staff changes.

Dont expect your reservation...Really run down and unprofessional place.When I walked in I was not greeted and instead watched the second employee play on their phone and ignore me for the next 15 minutes, while the first employee was busy helping another customer.When i was finally helped I come to find out they had no vehicles available. I made a reservation 3+ weeks ago so it would be ready for pickup and I still had to wait for more vehicles to be delivered.Thankfully the one young man who was actually working was very polite and helpful through this issue. He was doing a lot of multitasking and was able to help expedite things a little bit for me.It is still unacceptable that no car was waiting for me when I had reserved one. I would advise other to take their business elsewhere.

Bad customer service. No body in the office. Dirty lobby spider webs on the wall. Just pure dirty. Cars are a piece junk. They don't keep up the repairs on the cars. Don't come here. Cars have all them scratches on them and the won't repair a scratch.

I rented a vehicle, and drove it to the local mall and parked it. When I returned to the vehicle to start it. The battery in the key fob was low. I also noticed a strong smoke odor within the interior of the vehicle. I returned back to the rental office and was informed by the personnel that they did not have any batteries for the fob. Therefore, I had to take the vehicle to AutoZone and have them to replace battery. But, that's a different story within itself. However, the biggest problem was the strong smoke odor in the interior of the vehicle. I asked if they could replace the interior air filter of the vehicle. The individual who claimed to have just cleaned the vehicle. Stated that he didn't smell any odor when he cleaned it. Therefore, he and I went out to the car, and when the door was open. I could smell the odor of smoke instantly. He started the car, and the air conditioning system. Then stated, "I don't smell anything". I didn't have time to dispute his sense of smell. However, everyone who got into the vehicle, while I had it, could smell the odor of smoke. If this is the kind of service and condition of the vehicles that Hertz rent these days. As well as the fact that I had to replace the battery in the key fob, which should have been apart of a check list or maintenance list of the vehicle, before it is rented out. I have rented several vehicles from Hertz over the years. But, this was a total disappointment. The condition of the vehicle as a smoke free. Is not!! Maybe someone needs to review the standards.

Not professional! Was given a car that needed a wheel alignment, tire pressure light would not go off and the horn didn't work. Called Wednesday and let them know I needed a replacement vehicle. I was told to come in Friday. Of course when I got there no vehicles were available.Not good business!!!

Scheduled a vehicle for a NOON pickup. Called to confirm at 10:45 a.m. that I had a Noon reservation and asked if I could leave my vehicle overnight, the rep said "sure", she also confirmed that my vehicle was ready. When I arrived at 12:15, the place was closed and locked up. I would have gone directly there had she told me they closed promptly at Noon. Not even sure why I was allowed to book a rental for a Noon pickup when they close at noon.

In town for a family wedding, made a last minute reservation during Sweetest Day wknd in Detroit... Great price, courteous service & most importantly, a clean vehicle received. I'd definitely rent from them again!

Disgusting customer service. They gave us a car that was not cleaned and told us to go to a different hertz to be serviced and helped at. Unfortunately, a different hertz would not help us due to the car not coming from their rental facilities. They would not give us a refund, and told us to figure it out. Don t rent from here.
