You are always a bit nervous the first time you take your vehicle to a new mechanic as you really don't know what to expect. All of that quickly went away with Toucan's. I had an exhaust leak on my manifold, and after chatting with Sam, we went the let's fix it route instead of replacing it. The fact that there is still a mechanic out there that will fix something instead of just putting new parts on is very refreshing when that is possible to do. Very honest work at a very fair price.

Best service and mechanics around. They listened to everything I had to say on what was wrong with my truck and did not try to upsale me and did not try to say things were broken that weren't actually broken like keweenaw chevrolet tried to tell me. I had brought my truck to keweenaw chevy to diagnose a problem I could not figure out. Keweenaw chevy wanted me to pay 2500$ for parts I had already fixed and stated other parts were broken like my hood latch in which it clearly was not. Brought it to toucans and Jolene listened to everything I had to say and they did a thorough check on my truck. They said none of the parts that keweenaw chevy said was wrong was actually wrong. They went past the part i already fixed like i asked and found a wire that was not working correctly and fixed it. The repair was way less than what chevy wanted to charge and the service was fantastic. They are people that really care about their customers and will listen to you and not try to screw you out of your money. Highly recommended. Can not say enough on what good service and good people they all are.

Professional, fast and vary kind people who work there.I would highly recommend these guys if you want to feel secure about trusting someone with your vehicle.I dropped my car off and accidentally locked the only set of keys in my car by accident.I was so embarrassed, I thought they would be upset but everybody was understanding and they had no problem getting my door open.

We were traveling from out of state. We noticed our tire kept getting low and we still had a lot more travel to do. Took it to Toucans and they gave us what we needed to get through the morning. We made an appointment to come back in the afternoon to get a more extensive look. They found a nail in our tire and promptly patched the leak. Ten minutes later we were on the road again. The staff was professional and friendly. I would highly suggest visiting Toucan's for any automotive repairs.Service: General repairs & maintenance

We came to the U.P. to visit family and while there my truck started acting up. I brought it to this shop having no good expectations but I was wrong. Not only did they work on my vehicle same day, but the work was done reasonably priced. The owners were also very friendly, which is not necessary but a nice bonus.

Absolute angels. Saved our family trip. Sam came out and looked at our camper along side of the road, and replaced the leaf spring for us quickly and affordably back at the shop. We were at their mercy, and they charged us fairly. Much appreciation. 1000 stars.

A week ago we experienced a leak with our hydraulics in our RV. We were driving towards Hancock and called Toucan's. They told us to stop by. Sam diagnosed one of our solenoids was bad. We ordered the part and had it sent. Joleen made time in their schedule for the following week on our way out. Sam was able to complete the job in 30 min. I can't say enough about this wonderful family business. They are honest and the nicest people! Thank you both so much.

Toucan's seems very prompt, thorough and safety minded. They got my vehicle in quickly and are good at communicating what is needed and pricing. It's hard to find a reliable, honest mechanic shop. We've been there 3 times now with excellent service so far. Thanks Toucan's!

Stopped by here at the recommendation of Advanced Auto Parts in Houghton to find some lift struts for my camper shell because nowhere else had any. I'm currently traveling and 1800 miles from home and can't ship what I need to myself. Over the phone the owner said he had some left over from other repairs and I could see if any of those would work. Well, we tracked down some that were close enough and they are functional. He said there is no charge and when I tried to donate something towards their lunch the lady at the counter just said to just pay it forward on my trip. Such a huge help and genuinely nice people. Thanks guys, I really appreciate it!

We were up in the area for KOAR and had an issue with our trailer lights harness. These guys got us in and back on the road very quickly. Recommended them to anyone who might need repairs done at the event. They were awesome and super friendly.

Excellent family-run business! They performed a comprehensive examination on my vehicle and put on winter tires. You can't put a price on peace of mind for your car in winter weather. Many thanks!

This is a family run business. Everyone there was extremely friendly , courteous and very helpful. We were up on vacation when I had vehicle problems with my F150. I called them and they worked me right in. I had a power steering leak but upon Sam's (the owner) inspection I also had 2 broken leaf springs. Towing a heavy travel trailer with broken springs not a good idea. ( I had just taken my vehicle to another repair shop in lower Michigan and they never said anything about it. You could see by the rust it's been broken for some time). So thanks to Sam and his family my problems were taken care of .P.S. If your ever in this area and you have vehicle problems DON'T HESITATE TO CALL TOUCAN'S AUTO REPAIR. They got my car in on pretty short notice, repaired the problem I knew about and let me know about another issue they found during a vehicle inspection they perform on all cars that come into the shop. They weren't pushy at all and even tried to help me get tires I needed the same day. If they were not such an odd size I think they'd have had that done for me too. It's nice to have someone thoroughly look over the vehicle and let me know of potential issues, while offering me the choice of what to do rather than steamrolling me into repairs I didn't anticipate. I got what I needed done today, and the rest I'll get to next week. Perfect!

This shop is the most honest and trustworthy shop I have ever taken my vehicles too. Sam is a very knowledgeable mechanic (including diesel engines). I would not take a diesel truck (or any vehicle) anywhere else.Pricing is more than fair and work gets done in a timely fashion. I will be back for future repairs/maintenance!

Amazing service, honest and fair pricing. Wish we lived here year round as we actually found a mechanic and service shop we can trust. Got our car in immediately and fixed the problem in a timely fashion. Family owned business that really cares about their customers. We were on a road trip from Southern MN to Houghton in the middle of a June heatwave when our AC stopped working. We rolled up to Toucan 10 mins before they closed for the day. They diagnosed the problem, ordered the part,and fixed our car the very next day. Extremely grateful for the service and kindness we received here!

I needed a last minute fix on my heat system, and Toucan's was able to squeeze me in and fix my temp actuator motor! Friendly family business, I will definitely go back when my car breaks again!

I was riding snowmobile thru here Monday and a bolt fell out of exhaust and I decided to stop here to see if they could help or had a bolt I could buy. The people were very friendly and came outside and help take exhaust off and fixed it. Within 20 min they had it fixed. Also have a very nice building and nice new office. Highly recommend this place

I'd go back. The people were friendly and helpful. They had my back when I was having mechanical issues while traveling through. They diagnosed the problem quick at no charge and did the work early next morning.

I 100% recommend Toucans auto , I was passing through south range and had a car issue. They stopped what they were doing to help me out right then and there. Sam really helped me out with my 5th wheel when my axle blew. He had me back on the road in less than 3 hours. His rates are very very reasonable.

Cannot recommend this mechanic enough. Honest prices and works hard to get your car fixed as soon as possible.
