I took my van in for an alignment last fall. The CEL came on a few days later. I found that a couple vacuum hoses were popped off. This vehicle had no problems for two years before and wasn't taken in anywhere. I don't think it's a coincidence, they probably created a problem with low consequences and an easy fix. I've heard of mechanics doing this sort of thing.

My elderly mom lives by herself now in Shields, and us three kids all live 100 miles away in different directions. So when she has car problems, we call Redmond! They go pick up the car and return it, or shuttle her back home if she drops it off, then deliver the car back to her. They are very nice to work with, fast and very reasonably priced compared to the dealer! We trust them with all of her auto repairs, and are grateful that they work with us by phone!Services: Auto power window repair, General repairs & maintenance, Battery

I've always taken all my vehicles to Redmond's on Bay Rd and they have been absolutely fantastic. The pulley on the ac of my 99 Pontiac grand prix GTP was ringing like a bell. Every other place said I had to replace the whole compressor, brought it to Redmond's and they took it apart and lubed it for $50. I drove it another 100k miles and it was still quiet when I traded it in 5yrs and those 100k later.Took my 84 S10, 88 S10 blazer, my wife's cavalier and for repairs I can't remember it was so long ago and the grand prix in for a sensor diagnosis and replacement and I don't think anything cost over $150 in labor or for the part and labor and always got my vehicle back the same day I bought it in.Don't know if he still works there and if he does I'm sure he's management now but Bud that always used to work on my stuff was a wizard of a mechanic. The sensor that went bad on the grand prix was located under where you fill the wiper fluid and he said so if you spill any it gets right on that sensor. Not only did he replace the sensor he relocated it so it wouldn't go bad again....think it cost like $120 parts and labor and was done in a hourThere's no place else I'll even let look at my card and trucks let alone touch them, I give them 10 starsServices: Electrical repair, Electrical, Auto engine diagnostic, A/C installation & repair

I took my truck to Redmonds for what I thought was a blown engine. They were quick and honest getting me a detailed estimate and said it was my turbo. I was very pleased with my whole experience with Redmond from friendly office personal to the quality of work done on my truck!! They even have special rates on a rental vehicle while my truck was being worked on!!

I will definitely go to Redmond's again. Norris explained everything to me about what was going on with my trailblazer. Rob & Chris offer exceptional & excellent service! From biking an appointment, reminders, easy drop off, calling with updates & accurate/fair pricing, quick service to fix, call upon completion, pickup & detailed description of what & why vehicle was fixed, recommendation on future needs, and quick process to get car/leave! These guys are great, always have been!! They go out of their way to service you and to avoid any time delays being without your car for a few hours/day. Redmond s Automotive on Gratiot should be ashamed of themselves. My 67-year old sister recently died and we went through her invoices. She had been taking her Jeep to Redmond s for years-from maintenance to any fixes, she was loyal as can be. We ve now realized that they COMPLETELY took advantage of her! $50 to refill her windshield washer fluid?? How can this be okay? That s just one example. I m so angry and sad that a business would do this to a person

I have taken multiple vehicles to Redmond Auto over the years. They are always timely, very communicative, and fix the problem the first time. I can always count on Redmonds for quality, honest, dependable service. This is the second time my daughter or I have been told we needed something done to our car by a dealer or another auto place for a lot of money, and Redmonds dispelled that myth. Well this was the worst place to get my vehicle serviced. Vehicle dropped off June 29th 2021. Vehicle NOT SERVICED AND NOT RETURNED FIXED, vehicle returned November of 2021. No one ever called to tell me anything about the status of my vehicle. After the FIRST month of no contact from Redmond s, July 28 2021 Norris, said my car was neglected because someone had quit and took all my information, vehicle service order and insurance paperwork, months went by and nothing was done, vehicle sat in Redmond s lot. After months went by and me frequently going to Redmond s, Norris finally stated timing chain was bad and entire engine needed to be replaced and there was no other way to fix my vehicle, this occurred in august. Contacted insurance with Norris at shop and insurance said all was covered to proceed with engine removal and replacement. When vehicle was finally returned, low oil pressure light was on dash display as well as check engine light, I then took vehicle to Ford dealership and Ford stated catalytic converter was missing as well as low oil pressure, and check engine light. Ford also informed me my Engine was never replaced as stated by Norris at Redmond s, insurance charged $7k+ by Redmond, and I was also given a bill for $900 of labor supposedly not cover by insurance. I found all this out after having finally taking vehicle to Ford dealership and having it looked at. Ford dealership said engine had not been replaced and exchanged like was told by Norris at Redmond s. All that was done was a new alternator and battery in which I was charged for and which Norris said was not covered under insurance. Norris refused to provide me with a new Engine VIN, and now I know why! I m asking that Redmond s remedy this situation immediately, I m asking for the return of my deductible $100, as well as the costs associated with this incident, costs of renting a vehicle for 4+ months totaling $3k+, loss of work resulting from negligence of vehicle care. When vehicle finally returned with low oil pressure and check engine light still on, Norris said oh just give it a few days and it will reset I have pictures, video and voice recordings of ALL encounters at Redmond s (got to love technology) so if any would like to see Norris in action on this case simply leave your email or way to communicate and all of the events that has occurred, have either excellent audio and in some instances video. Norris would you care to interject, I m most interested in hearing your explanation of events. Norris have I stated anything inaccurate at this point, if so please comment with your concerns or supposed discrepancies. I was just going to call you Norris favorite saying every time I came in to check on the status of my vehicle.Services: Auto engine diagnostic, Engine repair

I had a warranty claim on my tonneau cover and Norris was extremely helpful with contacting the manufacturer and showing them pictures of it and staying in contact with them to get me a new cover. I took my car in for an estimate, they told me they would email me with one. I paid for them to look at my car but an estimate was never given to me. I called every week and nobody called me back. They were nice but the issue was wrong from what they told me. I will not be going back to them.

Absolutely friendliest vehicle staff I have ever met. I had engine trouble nd was told my only 2 options. Between work and arrangements for 2 children under 6, I didn't have much time in between to come up with a plan. They were very patient with me and understanding and it felt like they actually cared and were sympathetic to my situation.
