Total Scam. Avoid Royal Oak | 3320 Rochester Rd location.After specifying that I wanted a standard oil change with regular oil, the guy tried to tell me that my coolant was low. It wasn't. Then tried to sell me an air filter that I didn't need. Then he opened the fill plug on my differential and tried to tell me that my fluid is low.It isn't. When he finished, I was given a bill for $125.00 which included synthetic oil that I specifically said I didn't want and also included an "extra quart".After reading some of the other reviews, I think someone should start a class action lawsuit against this place.

I will never come here again. Avoid this location if possible (3320 Rochester Rd).I came in for an oil change last week and requested Mobil-1 synthetic oil and Mobil-1 oil filter only - NO other services!He told me if I wanted the Mobil-1 oil from the brand name (new unopened container(s)), that would cost me $10.00 extra. He said the same Mobil-1 oil I requested was in their large boxes (old beat-up looking on the shelf with no brand name I could see) but I trusted him and agreed to this anyway. Now I have no idea what type of oil they actually put in my car.He removed my air cleaner (trying to sell me at new one) after I told him not to. Next he said my coolant level reservoir was empty and my car could overheat any day (trying to sell me antifreeze). I declined.The younger assistant checked my tire pressures but ne never looked at the factory sticker inside the driver's door. He filled all the tires to very high levels above 40 lbs. (should be 32 lbs.) My car only shows the tire pressures after running for a few minutes. I told him 40 lbs. was way too high but he ignored me.I drove home then noticed my Low Oil Level light was on. I checked the dipstick and it looked ok.I topped off the coolant, it was only a quart low.Then I noticed they installed a cheap Purolator oil filter, not the Mobil-1 filter I ordered and thought I was paying for.I drove back to the shop and showed them the Low Oil Level light. They did not know how to reset it. Then they tried to tell me the light was on before the oil was changed. It was absolutely NOT on! They then changed stories and told me the oil level sensor was bad and I needed to take it to the dealer. This was totally unacceptable!!They also said the Purolator oil filter was the same as a Mobil-1 filter. At this point I don't believe anything they're saying.The oil change and filter cost me $122.00 dollars. They just made a huge profit. You can buy the same Mobil-1 oil 5 gallon container at Walmart for $28.00.I hope you have better luck than me. You will never see me there again.

had a leaking gasket in my chevy cruze, dealer quoted the repair at over 1200 dollars. This place did it for 1/3 of that cost and included new spark plugs as well. it s been ~16 months since the repair and the car has been driven nearly daily and there has not been an issue with the repair.

I was quoted a price for a specific year and model. When it came time to pay, it was 45% more than the quote. I was told that I didn't ask about shop fees and disposal fees, and that is the reason for the difference in price. This facility is not affiliated with Valoline and should be avoided.

$50 of hidden fees above the quoted price, pushy about upsells, and my underbody shield fell out the next day because they stripped the retainers putting it back. Avoid.

$133 for a 4 quart oil change, they charged $40 for a can of Lucas that s $12 bucks at autozone, and $70 for 4 quarts of oil.The two guys were pleasant and nice so I can t fault them for that, but they tried to continuously upsell me on oil flush, coolant flush, air filter, wiper blades, which I get it, it s their job, but it s very frustrating to tell someone no 4 times.Also, a suggestion, they should tell people the estimated price BEFORE they agree to the services. I will not be coming back here for a simple oil change that I can get for $40 around the corner as this place is very over priced.

Sign says oil change starting at $39.99, they do not provide an estimate before they begin work, they put a new oil filter in without letting you know it s an additional charge and then they hit you with a bill of $111.00 at the end of service.You will get scammed by this overcharging business. If you re a woman I would stay far away from this business.

Recently took my Camaro in for an oil change. I was short on time and am so glad I was able to get in and out. Ryan and Eric at this particular location were friendly, knowledgeable, and respectful. They explained things and answered all my questions. I had a great experience with this oil change and would recommend this location to anyone. Keep up the GREAT WORK GUYS. And I will be back for my next oil change Thanks again guys.........

This place was bad, then it was good, now it's bad again. I just got fleeced on an oil change. He handed me the bill and it was over $250. WHAT? Multiple upcharges, including adding some thing called Lucas Oil that I didn't ask for or agree to, a charge for removing the plate on the bottom of the car to change the oil, a charge for topping off anti-freeze, etc.We haggled on the bill and he admitted I didn't okay or ask for those things but he said it was too late and gave me $5 off of the $40 cost of the lucas oil. Are you kidding me?He had a sketchy, guilty look in his eye. Short term thinking. Scam me now but lose me as a customer.Will never visit again.Service: Oil change

Do not go here!! I just had my oil change and Haas said he was doing a Synthetic oil change which on their pricing board says $69.99. After he was done he said my total was $117 which is $89.99 and he also charged an additional charge for an oil filter!! I have never paid extra for an oil filter! Excellent service ! If you want a highly skilled and professional to work on your car this is the place. I ve been bringing my family s cars here for their oil changes for years. Late yesterday I called Hass because my check engine light came on, he said bring it and he ll look at it first thing in the morning. Just like that I knew everything was going to be ok. I m very grateful that I could get fast service from someone I can trust. The employee told me, you have a small leak in oil area (I trusted him) but I didn t see any trace of leak in my garage . So he put a product to seal the tiny leak and told me than they can fix it with cost with appointment. So my cost was around $100 for this visit and I refused an other service because I told him my budgetare really tite at this time (every time I going there, they try to sell me others stuffs) and the morning after, a very bad surprise in my garage, a big puddle of oil !!! No wait. Haas did a great job, quick and professional. Nice taste in automobile as well. Just don t show up with less than an hour till close. These people aren t staying late to change your oil. Would you?

In business I always found its better to gain a long term customer rather than a one time score. Our new shop is right down the street so I sent an employee over to get an oil change in one our new service vans. He came back with a bill over $300. When I called to try and straighten it out with the manager he started yelling and said that there are cameras of the employee signing the paperwork. The employee had my charge card with my name on it and was not authorized for all of these additional services. Thankfully American Express will have this charge taken off. This place could have earned our business for all of our service vehicles but I will never go there again or recommend them obviously. I will just go out of my way to the Pennzoil in Rochester where I get it done for $50 for each Van.

I sent my teen here to get a simple oil change and they ended up charging $169.71.Obviously they did some up charging and some upselling. But honestly they just took advantage of a teen and said the car need this and needed that.I can just see them in the back room asking themselves what else can we sell them.....$170 for an oil change!?!I used to go here all the time. Never again!!!

WAY overpriced for an oil change. By the end of it they had tacked on so many extra fees. I used to come here a few years ago and they seemed very honest. Now I left feeling like I got taken advantage of. I won't go back. $150 for a synthetic oil change?Service was quick and the guys were pretty nice but it is just a scam.

Ryan was kind & knowledgable about both mine & my husbands vehicles - quick, efficient, fairly priced & communicative the entire time about what was being done. The technician that was also working on my car was great ! Love this place. Our vehicles purr like kittens & I feel safe taking them on the road knowing we ve extended their life by taking care of them at Mobil1.

UPDATE:Dealership said problem was related to the oil change. Vacuum hose was pinched and disconnected. That doesn t just happen. Took the print out to show Sam at the oil change place for him to see and discuss reimbursement for their mishap and got nowhere. He took no ownership for the possibility of his staff making an error. Instead he threatened me with contacting his lawyer. So I guess that s the next step to resolving this. I welcome it.ORIGINAL:NEVER AGAIN!!!! Messed up my car terribly during what should ve been a routine oil change. They didn t have the oil my car (BMW X3) normally takes even though I called ahead and gave them the year, make and model (my 1st mistake). Assured me the one they recommended would be just fine. Then during the process asked me for the owner s manual. I was concerned, but complied since they had already started (my 2nd mistake). They did finally get it done and tried to sell me some extras (I didn t fall for). Not even 5 minutes after leaving the car started accelerating weirdly and the warning sign came up on the dash. I went back and they assured me it wasn t anything they did, but to come back in a couple hours for the owner to look at it. The owner said it wasn t anything to do with the oil change and that he consulted with the BMW service center in Troy and said I should go there. THERE IS NO BMW SERVICE CENTER IN TROY!!! LIES!!! I should ve ran away when I 1st saw the signs.

Ryan was great with his customer service and explaining the different services offered. He did not try to sell me anything I didn't need and was very understanding of my past dealership nightmares. Bill was efficient and friendly as well. I will definitely return for any auto needs in the future!

Professional, clean, fast and very helpful! I was confidant that the oil change and service I got was of the best quality. And the Mobil 1 staff member that helped me went out of his way to explain costs and services to me so I didn't do anything to void the warranty on my lease!
