I ve taken my 2017 Subaru legacy here multiple times & every time the work is done to perfection , I was very happy with the work they did and got it done in a reasonable time . Highly recommend this place! Communication is big for me when it comes to shops I would give them 10/10 for me keeping me updated on my car even if I didn t have an appointment they still took the time to quickly look at my car . Overall rating : 10/10

We called for a fix that was cheaper than going to maple hill and was done less than 48 hours after we called. My wife and I will continue to use them since their prices are great and the quick turn around. We both own subarus and this is what he fixes. Close to home and very convenient.

I brought my 09 subaru forester to boxer with a blown turbo and destroyed internals in my engine. Josh at boxer recommended different options along with the one he recommended. He was thorough and explained what he needed to do along the process of the rebuild. If you are looking for quality work on your vehicle, I highly recommend Boxer Automotive. Bought a built 2005 Blobeye out of Kalamazoo, had Josh and Isaac do the PPI. These guys are top notch and know Subarus inside and out. Highly recommend! Thank you!

I purchased a vehicle from Josh back in February of of 2023. It has a lot of issues, and the car is a safety hazard to me and my passengers. It has a fuel leak and other leaks and problems that I was never informed of before the purchase of the car. He also sold it to me way overpriced and was not willing to talk down in price at all. I have owned the car for 3 months now and the car was in his shop "getting fixed" for over two months of my ownership. I got the car back in worse condition then when I brought it in. If I were you I would not purchase a car from Josh or that shop.

Best shop experience I ve ever had. Josh was able to get the transmission replaced with a new clutch on my 15 wrx in one day. He was able to get the car shifting like a brand new one. I highly recommend this business for your Subaru repairs. Josh seriously knows is stuff when it comes to Subaru and his commitment to excellence is evident in the results of his service. Josh performed a complete engine swap on my 2010 Forester. He worked to get me the best option for a engine replacement. When he ran into some unexpected problems he figured it out and was extremely reasonable on price. I can t recommend him enough!!

Josh was able to get me in for a timing belt, water pump, and power steering pump replacement from a week when I called. Other places were several weeks out. Even though I drove 2.5 hours to him on a Friday he was able to get me in and out quickly with the job done right. Any further major repair I'll take my Subaru to him regardless of the drive. It's worth it to know the job is done right. Appreciate the service at Boxer Automotive.

I brought my subaru in with oil consumption and a noise. Josh was professional and quick. My daughter was home on fall break from college in Ohio. Josh got my suspension fixed and diagnosed my oil problem all in one day. Josh and Ken are awesome to deal with. Real down to earth and will get you taken care of in a timely fashion while making sure to update the progress. In my case they installed my coilovers a few weeks back and i decided to have them adjusted. They got me right in no problem. Super happy with results. Josh and Ken are fantastic. They re a two-man operation but you wouldn t know it by the flow of their customers and their willingness to give you their time. They re also well-connected as far as acquiring parts go, and will often offer to replace parts with good condition used parts if they have them available, or think they can get them. I drive an NA 2006 Legacy with over 200k on the odometer, so when I brought my leaking rear diff in for service they advised replacing it with a lower mileage used part (especially because my leaking diff had a pretty intense patina of Michigan rust going on with all its bolts etc.). Diffs are pretty sturdy, and are meant to last the lifetime of the vehicle, but at 200k you are technically beyond that point. I knew a new diff could have cost more than the entire car, but we actually just skipped that step. I m sure they would have floated the option if I d said that that s what I preferred, but I think starting with the low-mileage used option speaks to the way they prioritize the repair that makes the most sense for the car. They re also happy to discuss various options with you if you want to hear more.I recently brought my car to them to diagnose a P0420 code (probably familiar to anyone reading this with a high mileage car) that was causing drivability issues. Even though I usually call ahead with the expectation I ll be able to get my car on the schedule the next week (pretty common practice for shops I ve been to), they were able to get me in same-day and give me a preliminary diagnostic. A few days later they confirmed the issue and graciously worked with me as we figured out next steps.It s a down to earth shop, and I always appreciate a Subaru specialist shop, because I like Subarus, and I like giving my car to people who like Subarus. I don t think they NECESSARILY require special care and feeding, but sometimes you talk to car guys, or even professional techs, and you realize 'oh no, I know you know more about fixing cars than me, but you also just said something that has made me realize I know more about this Subaru than you do and that makes me a little nervous.' Had quite a few maintenance items and a part installed by the guys at Boxer Automative. I was quoted a very fair price for all of the work and was very pleasantly surprised at just how communicative they are with their frequent status updates. I am very pleased with the overall quality of work done as well as the customer care.

Had a timing belt replaced, they were very knowledgeable and friendly, and finished the job 45 minutes faster than I was told to expect. They offer a discount for veterans too, and offered me a burger since I was there at lunch time. Great work!

Purchased a 2006 Surbaru Forester from Josh just over a year ago - wound up selling it this past fall. In ad was stated all the work done but Josh sure didn't give this car a going over. Had bent rims, tail lights out , he put on a half baked exhaust system that I had to pay get redone. Toss in motor went thru oil almost as fast as gasoline. He installed another motor as son didn't keep oil in other motor and had to had it towed back next day we got it. Also been there numerous times during posted business hours and no one is there. I think Josh is great mechanic along with ones he has working there but I would not recommend buying one of his cars.

One of the best shops I've ever been to. Very knowledgeable and willing to answer any questions you may have. Extremely fast turn around time. Couldn't ask for a better small town shop. I will definitely recommend them to anyone with a subaru or car problems in general. A++ service!

Finally fixed my oil leak on an 09 forester XT. I took it to another place and wasted money. Came here and it ended up being more expensive but necessary which I figured. Happy they got to the root of the problem.
