Foreign Car Service has provided me with great service on a couple of occasions. They are knowledgeable and competent in their work. Their prices are competitive, especially compared to a Porsche dealer. Their knowledge of Porsche is as good as the dealership staff and they take the time to explain the problems in detail and provide accurate advance quotes.

The only place I'll take my cars. Their scope of services is huge, and they are far more knowledgeable than dealers or other places like Strictly in terms of mechanical repairs. Claudio's facility is top notch, and his staff are experts at getting to to root of your cars problems, and their turnaround times are impressive. To the previous reviewer with the Volvo who gave it one star: this isn't the place to rant about quoted services you never followed through on.

Went in to test their customer service with a simple oil change. I will continue to take my BMW there for future work. They were thorough and knowledgeable. As well as, showed awareness of other issues that may arise while they were under the hood. I do recommend.

This shop is run professionally and you can bet on honest, knowledgable, and above all far. Everyone needs a brake sometimes especially when automobile issues arise. Driving foreign cars that are Ultra Smooth sometimes catch you off guard and you end up in a bad way. This place when happens ends up being better than experience. I have used them in the past and now again presently, thank my lucky stars for Foreign Car Services. If you agree please comment.

I recently moved to the area and needed to find a dependable shop to help maintain my '99 BMW e46 / 3-Series. Luck would have it that a kind local (now a new friend) and I happened to strike up a convo about cars, during which he recommended that I check out Foreign Car Services -- and I am so glad I did! My first experience with FCS went above-and-beyond my expectations. Claudio and his team are extremely knowledgeable, honest, and respectful. Very happy customer here, and looking forward to working with these guys moving forward to keep the e46 kickin'!Service: General repairs & maintenance

Had my car taken in for service for a starter, $1500. There was nothing wrong with the car prior to having the part replaced. Got a call saying that it needed a new valve cover and serp belt. And was quoted another $2000. I said sorry no and took the car back to deal with these problems myself. Turns out these weren t the problems at all. Mysteriously, my oil line is now clogged. Overpriced. Untrustworthy. Not worth your time.

Paid for a transmission fluid flush and a diagnosis for a misfire, they told me they flushed the trans fluid and it was full of metal and my trans was blown. Also told me my ecu grounded out from a broken wire and my ecu and wiring harness needed to be replaced, as well as my trans and synchros. When I drained the trans fluid after I got the car back it was obvious it hadn t been changed, no metal in it but very dirty. Repaired the broken wire on the harness and replaced the ecu and 2nd gear synchro which was the only gear that was grinding and it was good to go. Do not go here. They will lie and charge you for work they never did and try to take your money for anything they can. Wish I could give them 0 stars. If I had not checked over everything myself I would ve given up on the car, ended up being a $500 fix when they quoted me more then what the car is worth.

I have gone to Clauio for almost 20 years with my Porsche 1970 911T everything from oil changes to new clutch, engine work and everything else. I even ship car to him from Indiana now due inept local so called experts. Always does a great job. I don't expect work for free his expertise is worth whatever he charges.

they were good. I came in to have my halo light bulb replaced and have my cigarette lighter checked out on my BMW.They ended up saying that the light bulb was only slightly loose and that the cigarette lighter just needed a new fuse. The reason for the 4 stars is that at the end of it all, they charged me $80.00 to replace 2 fuses and reposition a light bulb. I feel like this was a little high, they said that's what they charge for labor by the hour. This is definitely cheaper than the dealer tho.

Claudio is a top notch mechanic. his crew and Claudio are honest and very knowledgable. Was in an accident, needed a new water pump, pulleys, sensors, etc. they replaced it. Audi dealership wanted to charge an extra $500 just to inspect it, but Claudio didn't need any of that! 6,000 miles in had no issue. Don't listen to the below customer who got an estimate and got offended.

I took my Porsche to Claudio and crew because I needed several items evaluated as well as repaired. I enjoy learning more about my car, and thankfully Claudio is willing to answer all my questions. He took the time to help me understand exactly what the problem might be, as well as correct action to repair. I highly recommend Foreign Car Services for any repairs, as they are the most honest, professional and timely staff I've worked with. Will be visiting again.

This business was recommended to us by another local business that couldn't work on the make we have. It was a horrible experience. They had the car for weeks. We had to keep calling them. The mechanic assigned lied and tried to cover up. We drove the car there and had to have a flatbed pick it up and take it to Ann Arbor. The owner was rude and condescending. He said he had never seen a car as bad yet Suburban in Ann Arbor wants to buy it. All sorts of things were broken after foreign car services finished with it. The only saving grace at the end was the refund. They should have said they weren't skilled to fix it from the beginning and we would have totally respected them.

Claudio Kaempf is a mechanical genius when it comes to fixing cars. He is not only a brilliant mechanic he is also honest. Those traits are rarely found in the same person. I first met Claudio almost 30 years ago when I lived in Portage and his shop was in Kalamazoo. The wipers on my Honda Civic had broken and the local Honda dealership told me that I needed a new wiper motor. I purchased a used wiper motor and took my car to Foreign Car Services. Claudio took all of 2 minutes to tell me my wiper motor didn't need to be replaced and told me I needed to buy a linkage arm from the dealership for $10.00. I bought the part and Claudio charged me $10.00 for labor to install it.Claudio is in business to make money so he can support his family, not to make friends and influence people. Do you think that people bring their Ferraris and Porsches to Claudio because of his scintillating personality? (Sorry Claudio). No. They bring their expensive cars to him because they wouldn't trust their cars with anyone else. You choose professionals, whether a doctor, lawyer, or mechanic, by their competence and honesty: Claudio has both.So all you weenies and whiners: If you don't like Claudio's repair estimate, you are free to take your car elsewhere and pay twice as much for labor. But don't use these reviews to get your revenge and hurt an honest man's business.

Business done right!!! The entire staff knows what they are doing. If you own any German or Swedish vehicle you need to go to this place. Claudio is a genius. It's worth it to go here if you live within 150 miles.

I took my Fiat 500 here, and had an excellent experience. Everything was handled in a timely manner and with great professionalism. I would highly recommend this shop to anyone that needs help with their foreign car.

I have had my VW there many times. I will continue to bring it to them. I had a battery that was replaced and was warranted less then 6 months. They spent time looking at the codes in the computer and replaced my battery and only charged me one hour. Go somewhere else and see if that is what they do. Thank you Claudio!

Claudio and his crew care about cars and care about their customers. They don't bull$h#$ you -- they just analyze the problem you're having. tell you what and why they think the problem is there, order and install just the parts needed to fix the car properly and send you on your way. They take emergency work without skipping a beat. Thanks guys!

I replaced my own fuel pump in 28 minutes using a $292 fuel pump from Autozone. Foreign Car Services wrote me a quote for $836.47 initially:FCS Pump price 461.39Pump Tank Seal 12.35Fuel Filter 46.51Other Charges 46.22Labor 270.00I disagree with the time they thought they were about to spend on the car; as they are a specialist in Volvo cars and understand wholeheartedly how fast it would take.
