This place is so cute! The lady that checked me in was so kind. I even called to see if my room was available a few hours before checkin because I came in to town early and it was. The room is very clean ( I have high standards ) and they restocked all the supplies that we used daily. The decor was nice too. It had that woodsy cabin feeling to it. I loved it! The location is perfect! I walked every where. My only two personal issues were the beds and air conditioning. For me, the mattress was a little too firm so there was a lot of tossing and turning. As for the air conditioning, I couldn t quite seem to get the perfect temp. If I had it on low, the room got really cold and if I turned it off, it got hot. Again, those are just personal issues. Others may not be bothered by it. All in all, we will definitely come back and stay here again.

My hubby and I just celebrated my bday weekend here. It was fantastic!!!! We had a cabin. Small yes but it was all we needed for the two of us. It s was immaculate!! Probably the cleanest place I ve ever stayed at. Very cutely decorated. Pool was heated and it was only 70 degrees with full sun it was perfect!!! The staff was very kind and very accommodating!! Room didn t have a hair dryer so when I called to ask for one we just went to office to get one. Not sure why the room didn t have one but to us it was no big deal. Walking distance to the lake, beach, restaurants and shops. We had a blast and would not hesitate to stay here again!! Only negative the cabin only had a/c. No heat. The overnights got quite chilly but the room had an extra blanket. Probably wouldn t stay in the chilly season.

Very cute place . It's about 5-10 min to downtown with stores and food, and about a 10-15 minute walk to the beach. The pool is supposed to be heated, but was still pretty chilly when it's not sunny. The room we had was small, but worked out fine since we only had 2 in the room. It came with a small fridge and microwave. No bathtub, but a handicap shower to those in need.

We arrived early afternoon on the Friday after the July 4th holiday, so it was quiet. We literally had the town to ourselves! The owner was friendly and happily checked us in early. The room we have is clean but outdated. The bathroom is tiny, with a tiny shower stall. Upon arrival, we found it to be musty and warm, so we turned the a/c on. Although it tries really hard, it's inadequate, so we turned it off at night when the outdoor temp got cooler and opened the windows. It's located in the community of rooms on each side, nestled among cabins behind in the Lucky Horseshoe complex. We spent the day walking around downtown, enjoying the sun and blue sky and the peacefulness of Lake Huron, capping it off poolside, and then dinner at the Fireside Inn. It was there, we were warned, to brace ourselves for the impending crowd of weekenders! Starting around 9 pm, things around our room got noisy from late check-ins. Doors banging, people partying on the picnic tables behind us went on for long hours. Who could blame them? If I wasn't trying to sleep, I'd be right out there with 'em!

HORRIBLE. This place has not only not been updated since it was originally built, I don't think it's been cleaned either. We rented cabin 6 and it was so filthy. When we pulled out the couch/sleep away, the sheet on it had brown, yellow and red spots as well as tons of crumbs) ??? The location was the only plus. The staff were friendly as well but management needs to retrain the cleaning crew. Ughhhh I don't even want to remember this experience.

Their burgers on gluten free buns and salmon bites rolled in gluten free pretzel crumbs were fabulous! I wish that we lived closer to visit more often.

I had a recent weekend stay here. The property was very clean, pool was nice. I rented one of the mini cabins and although it was dated, I had no complaints.

The location is right in downtown which make it easy to walk around without having to drive a car. The cabin is outdated and a little musty but the room is clean. I can tell that they put a lot of effort to keep it clean. The a/c was really loud which make it impossible to fall asleep. The hotel has a picnic area, grilling and a bon fire which is nice. Overall it's an okay stayed.

When we go to Port Austin, we always stay here and ask for cabin 16. It has kitchen facilities and a large living room area. It is rustic and basic but a nice place. The property has a inground pool and the staff is great.

We were in town for a wedding, so we spent a minimal amount of time in our Horseshoe cabin. Check-in staff was very friendly and the room was a nice size, although it had a weird smell. Overall, a good experience - exactly what we needed for a one-night stay.

Stayed in Cabin #5 for the weekend; it has a small fridge, stove, table, and couch. They provide a toaster, microwave, and standard kitchen utensils. The bathroom is small but sufficient for one person. The bedrooms were standard w/little decoration and the beds seemed cheap but comfy enough. The cabin is similar to a duplex in that another unit is attached - the walls are quite thin and you will hear your neighbors. We received a reduced rate of $130 per night w/$75 non-refundable deposit. Overall, it was clean and close to town which makes it a great place to stay for a weekend visit; however, it was quite expensive for the quality.

This is the best get away in the summer for our family. Every cottage and or room that we have had in the 8 years have been clean and comfortable. Has ac and wifi. Some have full kitchen. The staff is top notch family folks. You really can't go wrong here.

Rooms and cabins are extremely small. There is absolutely no room in any of them. Nothing is handicap accessible. You could not get a walker or wheelchair in any of the cabins even if you had to. There is just not enough room at all. Even people who use a cane would find it very difficult to use the bathroom. There is barely enough room for one person to fit in the bathroom. It might be ok if all you plan to do is sleep there. There is certainly not enough room to cook anything in what they call the kitchen. If you have children however forget about it. It will be the worst experience of your life! If you decide to try them beware. There other location across the street looked just as bad. There was no parking lot and there were no sidewalks to your rooms. The only positive was that they had the pool there. Make sire that the pool is actually open prior to making your reservation if you decide to try that location. Still rooms are extremely tiny. The photos they have somehow make things look much bigger.

Stayed here several times. Close to downtown, have their own pool, can book online (not many hotels are doing this in the area yet), and have a good selection of rooms! Prices are good even at the height of the busy season!

Nice little hotel for port Austin. Wi-Fi is not the best and their wasn't a hairdryer in our room. Not big issues though. We enjoyed our stay and spent most time outside the room

My famiky spent our summers here when my Gramma Brining owned it. There were two cabins on the property as well as the motel. Such fond memories. Beautiful little town. So much has changed but i cant wait to go back!!!!

Got checked into motel, liked the place nice homey feeling, on outside! Actually has grads outside, guy comes out kicks me out saying they dont allow pets! Well I have two registered service dogs, they are registered on the Service Dogs Of America! hmmmm.... would not recommend this place to anybody!Owner(male) was very rude and acted like I just made up that they were service animals!

DONT STAY HERE. The owners are a complete joke. We were visited in our room 3 times in our two days by the owners. They watch you come and leave and when we had friends meet us at our room he came knocking and told us we have to pay more for having more than 2 people in the room. Camp, sleep in your car or in a kayak but don't stay here.

We have stayed here every year for a week for the last four years. It is clean, comfortable, centrally located and priced right.
