The staff is absolutely wonderful. We ran into a few minor issues with the shower and jacuzzi tub, and they had someone up to fix it quickly. Room service was fast when we needed extra towels (which happened a lot since we stayed with three little kids). The hotel itself is beautiful from the outside; my kids exclaimed, It s a castle! when we arrived. The pool and hot tub were nice and spacious and clean, though very over chlorinated (stung our eyes). (Although honestly, I ve yet to be at a hotel where the pool water wasn t over chlorinated.) Our room was spacious and clean, and the kids always rave about the continental free breakfast at any Holiday Inn Express we stay at- good variety of options. The hotel is close to downtown as well as a ton of restaurants and stores (grocery and otherwise). It feels like most everything directly around the hotel was built in the last ten years or so. Our kids would tell you their favorite part about the hotel was the free limo rides. We took the free limo service to Applebees for dinner, and the kids could not have been more thrilled and amazed. I was especially impressed though with the front desk staff- super attentive and knowledgeable about the area to make suggestions and give feedback about where to locally stargaze at night. We came for spring break to rock hunt, and even though it was at or below freezing most of the time, we still had a great time and absolutely will stay here again next time!Rooms: We stayed in a suite with two full beds and a pullout couch and jacuzzi tub. It was plenty of room for the five of us- two adults and three young kids.Nearby activities: Rockhounding! Stargazing! Northern lights (sometimes)!Food & drinks: Lots of local nearby restaurants with sit down or takeaway options. We had great experiences with Corktown Pizza, Applebees, and City Park Grill.Noteworthy details: Free limo rides around town! Please make sure you tip the driver- he s great!

Our bathroom in our room was dirty and it was difficult to sleep due to being able to hear everything going on in other rooms. We were on the second floor and the room below us had a dog that would park constantly during the night and we were able to hear talking from other rooms around us. This is not a problem I've had at other hotels. At least saff was friendly

Our room was extremely clean and comfortable. My only complaint is the noise level heard through the walls. You can hear anyone who walks by your room and the people above us sounded like they were either herding kids or moving furniture. It was extremely loud. You can also hear the parking lot noise so much it s like the cars are in your room with you.Other than that we enjoyed and would stay again.

The room was immaculate. The beds were comfortable. The staff was friendly. Brealfast had a nice variety of foods. The scrambled eggs were the least salty that I've had in any hotel recently. The pool and hot tub were in very nice condition. If I had a complaint, it would be the toilet seat lid. As I was out of the shower and dressed, I thought to sit on the toilet lid to put on my socks. It wasn't made for that.

Very very old but nice. Small parking, ceiling fans are about to fall, dirty balcony and they have us the only one without chairs. Bathroom looks nice but sucks. Faucet was ok but shower was corroded and didn't spray right. The great local family with the whole neighborhoods kids gets to come and interrupt your getaway because they get deals to come to hotels and swim. It's all the way into December and you're still doing Xmas decor, shame on you. This is Michigan

For the area and for what we needed it for this place was perfect. Loved the balcony with the view overlooking the trees and their changing colors. We greatly appreciated being offered the use of the hotel s limo. The concierge informed me that they did not have the welcome amenity available so he provided additional IHG points (which is what I would ve chosen anyways so that was a sweet bonus). Will likely stay here again in the future when we visit the area!

I took my kids to swim for the day, so I can t say anything pertaining to the rooms. But the pool room smell of chlorine was so strong that our eyes were burning, watering & noses started running within the first minute of being in there. My mom, who was not swimming had the same symptoms. We decided to leave after less than ten minutes in the pool and asked for a refund, which they denied. I wouldn t recommend at all.

My stay was a last-minute reservation on the same day. Had no issues with check-in. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Room was extremely clean and fresh. Probably the only reason I didn t give it five stars was I had a hard time getting the room cool enough for my liking and the ice machine on my floor (5th) was non-operational, and looked like it had been that way for quite some time.Nearby activities: There is a casino very close by. Great northern Michigan sightseeing on the bay. Also good a motorcar and motorcycle riding area.

Spent over $300 for a jacuzzi room and was extremely disappointed. My husband and I were looking forward to relaxing in the jacuzzi while watching some TV, but the TV didn't work. I called the front desk to let them know, and their response was, " it should be working fine." Well, it wasn't. They agreed to send maintenance. So we had to get dressed and wait for maintenance, who said it was a bad problem. It took him about an hour to switch out the TV for a new one. By the time it went through the start-up process, it was too late to do much of anything. Then, at 6am, the hotel clock alarm went off, waking us from a dead sleep. Will not return.

This hotel is far nicer than any mere Holiday Inn has claim to be! Absolutely gorgeous room with a tremendous view on top of the hill. Double balconies while small get the job done. Very nice pool. Breakfast area is airy and light, and pretty good. Will definitely be returning to petoskey and the HIE!Rooms: Favorite stay of my vacation hands down!

This hotel has staff who are very friendly and helpful. Our hotel room was very accommodating and comfortable. The hotel rooms have a great view and even a small outside balcony with two chairs and a little table. Between 6:00 and 10:30 every morning there is a complimentary continental breakfast featuring food such as Cinnamon rolls, bacon, sausage, eggs and even a automatic mini pancake maker! There is a spacious swimming pool area that also houses a hot tub. You can also take advantage of a complimentary limo shuttle service that will take you anywhere in a 2-mile radius from the hotel. It runs from 4:00 PM to 11:00 PM/12:00 Am depending on the day. This is also convenient because you can be dropped off and picked up in case you want to get a bite to eat or do some shopping in downtown Petoskey. All without having to worry about driving yourself anywhere. I would definitely recommend staying at this hotel next time you plan on visiting Petoskey Michigan!Rooms: Rooms feature, a programmable safe, desk, Keurig, ironing board, mini fridge and even a microwave.Nearby activities: A lot of nearby shops and small restaurants in downtown Petoskey.Food & drinks: There are bottles of water in the hotel lobby and a complimentary continental breakfast every morning from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m.

The Hotel is well located on the South side of Petoskey. Our room was equipped for the handicapped guest's needs with one exception which was the "easy chair" that is simply too low to easily get in and out of. The bed was extremely comfortable. The bath had a walk-in or roll-in shower which is a huge plus for people with mobility impairments. The featured breakfast was great. It wasn't just oatmeal and sweet rolls. Omelettes, scrambled eggs, biscuits'n'gravey, pancakes etc. Plus quite good coffee. There is a big patio that overlooks the valley to the East plus a swimming pool.Great location, excellent service, and great room. Would not hesitate to book there again.

This hotel is absolutely fantastic. I loved the view from my balcony, the continental breakfast was great, and the pool was really nice. The one and only downside to this hotel is that its a fair walk from downtown Petoskey and there isn't a continuous sidewalk or easily accessible crosswalk. Uber is also not really present here. While they do offer a taxi service, it has very limited times posted. All in all, I'll be thrilled to visit again soon.Walkability: Dangerous, practically non-existant. If you like or need to walk to get to downtown Petoskey from the hotel there is not a continuous sidewalk accessible from the hotel and the nearest crosswalk is quite a ways down the very large steep hill. Use the taxi service when you can (beware its limited hours) and if you must walk, beware the very, very busy and often inattentive tourist traffic.

My dad and I came up from Kalamazoo to go skiing and explore some of the natural beauty in the area and we had a wonderful experience! The experience was definitely aided by staying at this hotel. It was clean, spacious, the continental breakfast is delicious (I recommended the veggie/egg white omelet), they have a great pool, hot tub, and sauna, and everyone at the front desk was great! Extra shout out to Kristina who not only upgraded us but gave us a rundown of all the best restaurants in the area. She is awesome. I cannot recommend this place enough!

We loved this hotel. You know how sometimes you can't sleep well in a hotel? I slept nine solid hours here. I can't comment on the breakfast because I slept through it. The pillows and other bedding were perfect. It was so quiet, even being in the road side of the building. Very good soundproofing, even between rooms so no annoying noise from other guests. Also, you know how some hotel rooms smell like they've been cleaned within an inch of their lives, as if to cover up some odor? No cleaning smells here, just clean and pleasant. Bathroom was great, great shower, good shower gel and shampoo...just perfect.I really haven't had such a nice, restful experience in a hotel in a long time. And we didn't even use the free hotel limo. Next time maybe.

Me and my wife went there for our 1 year anniversary and holy cow. I booked a standard king room and got upgraded to a king suit with a jacuzzi and a fireplace with a balcony with such a breath taking view.. with a huge added bonus the hotel offeres free limo rides to either downtown shopping, to dinning, or even to the casino. Talk about luxury and really making you feel spoiled. Best time at a hotel I've ever had. Me and my wife will definitely be visiting there again with our family and again ourselves.

Nice, clean hotel with great amenities. The staff we encountered exhibited surperior customer service. Casandra & Kris the breakfast attendants were fantastic. They kept everything freshly stocked/hot and maintained a very clean dining room. The front desk associate, Kayla, was welcoming and informative. She treated us very well. Terry, the maintenance man is a great asset. It snowed over night and we woke up to our truck windows cleared of snow! That's a first and a small, but huge gesture. Over all we loved our stay. We've stayed in neighboring hotels and the Holiday took the cake! From now on we will be staying here anytime we back in the area. Keep up the great work. Awesome crew!

We stay at a lot of hotels for business. This hotel has the best customer service I have seen. The hotel rooms are always nice and clean. I want to thank Ronnie! He was so nice at check in. Then when we were coming in at night he noticed we couldn t find a parking space. He moved his car to allow us to park. Breakfast staff did great for a weekend, keeping up with the demand.

Pros: check in was easy and staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was awesome. View out the back of the hotel was great.Cons: The pool area has seen better days. Very run down and dirty. The hot tub had scum in it, big piles of hair on the tiles, the door to the outside balcony was broken, the handicap pool chair was very rusty you would need to get a tetanus shot after touching it. Also saw a maid vaping while cleaning a room.

I can't say enough about the staff here. Everyone was so accommodating and genuinely cared about your well being. One staff member really stood out, Ronnie the front desk concierge! Entryway I was there he impressed me with his service and knowledge of the area, I really feel as though I made a new friend! I will definitely return to this hotel in the near future! I can't thank you guys enough!
