These dudes are awesome. I didn't even buy anything from them, but they sell the same kit I had questions about but couldn't contact the seller to answer. They spent 30 minutes with me on the phone explaining it to me and didn't ask for anything in return. I'm going to buy stuff from them in the future based solely off this experience! 10/10 highly recommended!

I purchased a tuner and kwi clutch kit. Along with some other items from these guys. They are all installed. However, I have not yet taken my rzr out. I have called 3 times to ask different questions, and each time, they called me back and spoke with me. I can't say enough about how good their customer service is. I'll continue to buy from these guys!

These guys are great I have purchased many parts and aftermarket kits from them their customer service is second to non if I ever need anything weather it s tuners or turbo kits these guys will be my first option had some simple questions others couldn t answer I asked them the same simple questions and got back simple answers !!!! Dylan helped me out and I didn t mind spend hundreds of dollars because i knew what I m spending my money on ,other utv stores couldn t answer my questions! Thanks Dylan and the TEAM @whalenspeed great work great customer service have shopped here for years and will continue too !!!

Had a full build done. Drop off was October 11th, was told the build should be done first or second week of November. Got my car back December 11th, so about a month and a half past the finish date. But in that time there were able to get their shop cars buttoned up and a full wrap, I believe they also got a shop CanAm and were able to play with that, pretty sweet. During this time never received one call updating me on progress, as the customer you shouldn't have to babysit to make sure your vehicle is being worked on and to get some progress info/pics.Got the car back and the serpentine belt that came with the car which was cracked was put back on. So, had to take it back and pay labor and parts to have a new belt put on. Had the car back in my possession for about 5 months and had 4 tune revisions....On the bright side the gauge wiring by Joey was very clean and couldn't have been done better!Had an appointment on June 19th, never dropped the car off. Have not heard from them. Seems to be the trend with WSRD sadly....

The go to place for Can Am X3 go fast parts! I tried ordering from my local UTV shop and they failed miserably. Whalen steps in and gets me parts faster from 1500 miles away. Nice job Whalen! your hard work is appreciated!

I purchased there ws170 tune for my turbo s from these guys. I ve yet to run it. But the customer service has been great! Walked me threw every step of the way and were very patient with me. Highly recommend.

I purchased their WS150 tune, clutch kit, and downpipe for my X3. Their products and services are excellent. I had several questions about the tune before and after install and John and Dylan were extremely helpful. They can't always answer every call that comes in, but if you leave them a message or send an email they will get back with you. As a small business owner myself, I appreciate their professionalism and understand the struggles they face. I would definitely recommend them.Services: Transmission, Exhaust

Let ke tell you all one thing, this company works with your budget and makes a serious product it's nit always about the name Like EVO. I've deot with them and there so not what everything seems. This company does what it says and makes great HP. Give then a shop you won't be let down. Trust me. Jake from so cal. And there prices cannot be beat...

I had called the company to order a stm clutch for my x3 and I gave them all the specs for my set up making 350 hp and is used for trial riding. This company lead me in the complete wrong direction and I got a stm clutch that no in the industry likes to use and wealen speed will do nothing to help me get this right. I have now spent 2800$ on a clutch that is useless on my car.Service: Transmission

These people are an absolute joke. Ordered parts from them and the injectors which were back ordered , took almost 2 months to receive which didn t allow me to get them installed last season. Now, this season, I m having an even harder time getting scheduled. These people never answer their phones and have the worst customer service ever. As someone else stated above, I will also be driving the extra 40 mins to take my car to Boostin in Hoffman Estates, IL. If these guys have such a hard time getting people projects done, maybe they should hire more employees or at least ANSWER THE PHONE and let people know they are over a month out rather that stringing them along. DO BETTER!!

I had a fantastic experience dealing with Whalen s Speed shop. I drove 2 plus hours to have a 2004 Mitsubishi EVO VIII tuned and they did an excellent job. They were very patient and answered all my questions. Dylan kept me informed throughout the process and pointed out items that needed attention above and beyond the initial tune. Would definitely recommend them and will certainly be heading back when I decide to upgrade performance items. Thanks again to John, Dylan and the Whalen s crew....,

Had 13 phone conversations with them about getting my built forester tuned. These conversations took place over a 4 week period. The last conversation I had with them they assured me they were going to get me on the schedule and to wait for them to call. That was about 2 months ago. During these conversations it was disclosed to me that the tuner does not like to do older Subaru tunes and that what was causing the delay. If they lack the willingness/competency to work on a specific vehicle they should be up-front about it and not waste people's time.

Living in Az I was nervous to order parts from a company in Michigan. Whalen has always been easy to communicate with. I ve emailed and called. Parts and tunes show up in a timely manner. Followed the instructions on the videos they put out. No problems.

As a business owner myself i can read through these review's and see that some of the negative review's are people that can't be satisfied or happy with anything or have some sore of the allusion they are the only customer in the world. When i did my research on a tuner for my Can am X3 It was clear that John was On the front lines with research and development on the x3 platform. As a person who has tuned Multiple car's from a 300hp Tahoe to a 1200 hp Mustang i know when i'm working with a person that is capable of meeting my needs and John Did a fantastic Job with all my Questions and data logging back and forth and even answered me 1 time at midnight his time lol. In one of his Blog vid's he made a small comment that sold me and that was him discussion the importance of drivability and not just focusing on peak power. Peak power is Much easier to tune that drivability and My can am John Tuned Run's better and had better drivability on e85 than my machine did when it was stock!! Long review that needed to be done. Thank you John You have all My Utv Business.

I took my evo x to them for a tune, I love what they did. Feels like a whole new car. Since then I have had my employer take 2 cars to them and they both turned out great. I will also be taking my other race car to them once I finish the build on it.

Broke primary clutch on my X3 max At the beginning of our vacation at the dunes. After being unable to find one before our trip had ended, we posted on Facebook ISO primary clutch. A fellow x3 owner, Angel Racing, suggested contacting John Whalen. After contacting him he, he confirmed had the part we needed And would get us in as soon as we got to his shop. After driving to Paw Paw John suggested the best Clutch for my needs. They installed it, tuned it and put it on the dyno. They were so professional and knowledgeable. We will definitely make the trip Across the state again if we needed his services.

TL;DR - Tried to schedule a simple 2-3 hour job with Dylan at Whalen Speed and after inquiring about an ETA once the car is dropped off (it's my daily driver, so I can't be without it for too long) I never heard back from them or received any further emails.Earlier this year I bought a 2012 Evo GSR from the Chicago area with about $18k worth of parts and labor put into it. All of this work was done by Boostin Performance in Hoffman Estates, IL, so when it came time to have a flex fuel kit installed and tuned I figured I'd stick with Boostin since they knew the entire history of the car.While having the flex fuel kit installed and the car tuned I also had Boostin diagnose a leak coming from my transfer case and write up a quote for the work. I knew I wouldn't have the work done that day as they didn't have the parts, but Whalen is only about 40 mins away, so I wanted the quote to provide to Whalen so they would know the work needed as well as the parts.I sent the quote over via email and asked if I'd be able to schedule this service soon. I was told that even though this was only a 2-3 hour job I would have to drop my car off and leave it there. When I pressed and asked why this was I got some excuse about tech's days being hectic, so I pressed again and asked if I scheduled the work out far enough in advance would they be able to do it in a day. I was told no and, I'm guessing as a jab at Boostin, he informed me that "The vehicle would sit here for just as long as it likely would at Boostin.".I then replied and asked if they could provide an ETA once the car was dropped off. I never heard back after this email.After this disappointing exchange I was less than thrilled at the prospect of these people working on my car, even though I was really hoping to have a shop close to me that I could trust with my car.I ended up scheduling the work with Boostin, made the drive over, they started on the car at 8 and I was back in it and on the road by 11:30 (this also included flushing/replacing all the rest of the drive-line fluid).I was really hoping to build a good relationship with a local shop that I could trust, guess I'll just stick with Boostin and make the drive out there when need be.

The rebuild went from 2 weeks to 3 months due to them taking time to work on personal cars! After getting the car back had oil leaks, missing parts from the car, the waste gate not having the right springs in it, they also snapped a CAM while testing it & Blow up the starter on the car.... I Personally Had to pay for The Starter to be replaced Due to them messing it up!!!! Will not take my car back to them!

Dropped off an evo 8 motor to be built, I couldn t be happier with results. They might take longer then the original due date but that shouldn t matter, it s an engine build not a package from amazon on prime.Thanks guys, Moe
