Honestly, they may offer the cheapest rates in town, but in this case, you truly get what you pay for. Frankly speaking, they are consistently tardy and even occasionally fail to show up at all. Furthermore, they do not offer any form of communication, such as phone calls or text messages, regarding the bill. Instead, they simply send a single notice asking for payment, and if that notice is overlooked, they do not take any action to collect it. Additionally, their customer service staff is extremely impolite when dealing with customers over the phone. What aggravated me further was the fact that I had not realized my roommate had already called about the trash issue before I did. Apparently, my roommate had made the call just a while ago. Nevertheless, when I called to inquire about the delay in trash collection, I was met with an unreasonable amount of attitude from the staff, even though all I wanted was an explanation for why the trash was still outside. We were informed that the collection would take place soon and that they were running late when it was already 2 pm, but now it is 5:37 pm and this is the scheduled pick-up meant to compensate for the previous one. Once our financial matters are settled, I will strongly encourage my household to switch to a different service provider, as this type of behavior is not at all acceptable from a company that I am paying for their services. It is truly disappointing.Furthermore after seeing this review instead of solving the problem they've canceled our service and never completed the service they where paid for even though we've already paid for the pickup that never happened, I highly recommend finding someone less childish to put your money towards, if there is no reimbursement for the last pick up or contact to us about the situation I will be going to the bbb and filing a complaint and pushing for repercussions. Rot in hell.

If selecting zero stars was an option, that's the one I would choose. I have regretfully used this garbage service since 2022 and it has been terrible. There have been multiple weeks where they have been tardy, or just not picked up at all. They did not seem to have any issue collecting my payment though. Today (1/26/2024) I noticed my trash STILL had not been picked up, and this would be the second week in a row they have not picked up. I called the customer service representative who has an education level of about a 2nd grader and tried to get some answers. She could not offer me any assistance on this whatsoever and hung up on me. I then called back and her boss AND owner Chris Spencer answered the phone. He told me "It's not the end of the world we haven't picked up your trash yet" and then told me to "stop whining about it". I then asked him if he talks to all of his customers this way and he said "That's how I'm talking to you. If you're are unhappy happy with our service then go use someone else!" He also told me to "grow up", which you can see seems to be his go-to response based on unsatisfied customers on is google reviews. I then went on to tell him I AM trying to cancel my account with them and he as well hung up on me. I could clearly tell that the onwer had a very low IQ based on the way he talked to me on the phone. I am honestly extremely surprised he is even in business still. This guy is totally unprofessional, his business is dumpy, and his trucks are literal pieces of garbage themselves, and I would advise everyone that uses his service to please cancel it immediately. I have also filed a complaint with the BBB.

If I could rate this place as a zero star I would!! Just to start off they say they close at 6pm but scales are closed at 5:30! Second thing is absolutely horrible service. I was cussed at and flipped off by a worker there!! She was very rude and disrespectful regardless of how calmly I tried to talk to her. I have notified my family and close friends and we are no longer doing business with this disgrace of a scrap yard. WE WILL NOT EVER BE COMING BACK HERE AGAIN!!

Been a customer for years as trash pickup goes. Had one issue which was my own fault, if you pay by mail figure the days in mail. Easily fixed. Do your part as a paying customer and they do theirs. They ain't your mama.

The absolute worst service, out of 3 months we had them we called every week for them to pick our garbage up, some weeks they were 4 days late. The customer service is terrible, the lady hung up on us when we ask them to pick up the garbage can, which by the way is still sitting out by the road over two weeks later. I would recommend getting the brand name garbage service.

I had some old exhaust and suspension to get rid of and they wouldn't even take into account that I was getting rid of a catalytic converter. Their lot is also a nightmare to get in and out of, you're better off taking your stuff to Flint or Lansing next time you're in those areas.Was it my mistake for not knowing a policy you don't tell people about or just another shady business practice you're not willing to acknowledge? I wish I would have checked the reviews before I stopped in here. It's pretty obvious where the issues are with business and it's not with the multiple customers who have voiced multiple issues with this place.

Garbage is what they deal with and what you get when you get ahold of costumer service. I wouldn t even rate this place a 1 because the owner acts like a child calling grown adults names? Ridiculous how a grown man is such a sucky person ESPECIALLY A BUSINESS OWNER!

If zero was a option it would be -0 don't go to specialty salvage they'll rip u off went there empty my trailer had 1000 lbs George give me a slip to put in atm the atm didn't work told George he said it must be empty she just went to bank to get money you'll have to wait till she gets back so when she got back put money in machine she told me to try the machine again it said error check receipt Chris said he wasn't paying me cause the machine said it paid me

George's son is rude and disrespectful. He kicked me out because i behind the black line. Not to mention that he grabbed me and pushed me. I don't recommend anyone going to them. They went down hill after George let his son take over.

They were dishonest wrote the wrong metal down for a cheaper priced metal so they could make more money while given us less money.... then they also was mad about having to use machinery that they get paid to move the guy running the machinery was telling us to move 1000 lbs of steel that was written down as dirty sheet metal

If this is how you treat the customers that keep your business running I can't imagine how you're treat your employee's. I don't even need to explain my story with the mountian of complaints below mine with the same situation

The owner of this company doesn't even deserve a 1 star...I received my bill by email on May 24th at 5:43pm. The bill is for 6 bags for 6/1-8/31. I called them on May 25th at 10:07 am (they open at 10am) I left a message canceling my service and requested a return phone call for confirmation. I did not receive a call from them on the 25th. Because of the Memorial Day holiday weekend I called them again on the 30th to confirm cancelation. She said she was taking care of it. In the mean time they took my payment out of my account on the 26th. Bill states terms are paid by June 11th. I waited about 2 weeks and still had not received my refund so I called again on June 14th. I was told they don't give refunds. I told them I canceled prior to fund coming out of my account and services don't start until June 1st. The owner finally agreed to refund me. When I received a deposit back in my account if was short $5.34. When I called to ask why I was told he charged me a 10% restocking fee. WHAT! It is not my fault you took my funds after I canceled and your charging me. I requested for him to call me and he will not talk to me. They have very poor business practices. However the men that picked up my trash were more than friendly!

Great pricing and dumpster selection. However it doesn't make up for the horrible communication and customer service. I'd recommend paying more for a more responsive service. It took us a week to even receive the dumpster we paid immediately for. It then took nearly 3 weeks to have it removed.

Flat out the worst place to go. It's a dive always has been always will. Can't even fix there own driveway, that's how lazy they are.

It's taken me a month to get a hold of anyone to get my account number. I had to physically go in person. Then once paid they still don't pick up my trash, on top of that they charge me again for reactivating my account and another full service charge. I can't cancel ..they don't do refunds. I have about 2 months of trash not picked up even though they said they were still picking up hence the backpay fee and the new payment charges ..all payments have went through and taken out of my account trash has still not been taken. It should not take so long to get a hold of someone to get information on your account, simple phone call back or even answering the phone I could have made the payment right away. I shouldn't have to drive to the office after leaving two messages to get an account number so I can pay my bill. Then once paid the service should be received I don't think I'm being difficult here all I'd like is the service I'm paying for to be done which it hasn't in months b/c of all these mishaps .Will be switching after my next payment has passed since there are no refunds. Bad customer service.

New to the area. Have been waiting for my Trash Cart to be delivered to my house for over 2 weeks. I have had service for over 2 weeks now and have called 4 times. I have been told it is being delivered soon all 4 times. After a direct call with owner/management this issue was resolved.

1. Getting someone on the phone is almost impossible.2. Getting a return call after leaving messages is almost unheard of.3. I called weeks ago and ordered one of their dumpsters for a big clean out project. They had me pay upfront for the service, which is ok.I called the day it was suppose to be delivered to get and eta, they were unsure but said they are usually delivered in the evening. Evening came and went NO delivery, No call from the company explaining why, NOTHING.

Purchased trash service through specialty salvage for my house when I moved here a year ago. It took them 2 months to get me a trash cart (which I was paying for). I called multiple times and they repeatedly told me they would bring it out that same day...never did, until two months later. After we had our trash bin the pickup guy would pick through our barrel by hand piece by piece without gloves...disgusting. He almost always left trash behind. Since they wouldn't take nearly half of our trash in our barrel and there were a few times where they didn't even pick it up, I called to cancel our service. That was 3 months ago and they still have not come to get their trash barrel off my property even after calling and asking them to. Definitely would not recommend this business. It is probably the worst run business I've ever had to deal with. We now use Granger trash service and couldn't be more pleased!!

Have always been respectful to this place taking scrap copper. Unfortunately they are as rude as rude gets. Won t answer a simple question, leaves during business hours without a response while waiting to return metal, yells at you to get out of the office while yielding a sword. Unprofessional. Very disappointed ex-customer.

Dont use this trash service. I received a flyer in the mail saying they charge $17.50 a month for garbage. When I called they changed me $20 a month for 3 months in advance and told me to take the trash to the rd on Mondays and they would drop off a container. Monday came and trash was never picked up. So I called Tuesday and they told me someone would be there to pick it up today. Didn't come again. So it's Thursday and I've been calling every day and keep getting the same response.

I had been a Specialty customer for home pick up for years.I called last week to inquire about getting rid of an old fiberglass boat and the receptionist said "yes you can drop that off". Their business hours were listed as 8-6 Monday-Saturday so I planned to be there first thing Saturday morning. When I arrived, (8:15 AM) I couldn't find anyone so I left the boat near a row of scrap cars and left.On Monday morning, (10:00 AM) I called to make sure I didn't owe any money, or that they didn't need anything else from me regarding the boat. I left my name and cell number, and asked them to let me know if I owed anything.At 1:30 Monday afternoon, I received a text message from a MSP trooper regarding a boat registered to me that was found abandoned. I was unable to reach the trooper, but called Specialty several more times, leaving a message with my name and cell number each time asking for a return call regarding the boat, and any payment I might owe them for taking it.When I received a call back from the MSP trooper, he said the boat was found in the middle of the road, abandoned. The boat was then towed by All Star Towing to their yard. I reached out to All Star Towing (gentleman was very understanding and helpful) to let them know I would pick the boat up.I never received a call back from Specialty, but when I called to cancel my service, she asked why?I went through the crazy series of events with her, and she said "that's not how it works, you have to pay when you drop off".That would've been key information to share when I called last week, as well as their actual business hours.Rather than returning any of my messages, they pushed the boat into the middle of the road and called the State police.Needless to say, I have moved on to another waste removal company.If only you returned phone calls as quickly as you reacted to Google reviews, I'd still be a customer.

I tried to set up residential trash service last week, the lady on the phone told me I was all set up and to set the 6 bags out by the curb and they would pick it up and give me a dumpster. I called today and they told me they never got my debit card and couldn't get a truck out here unless I paid extra on top of the 3 month fee. The lady then hung up on me and told me she didn't have time to argue. With the 3 other trash services in Owosso I will choose one of those before these people. Don't seem to care about current, new or potential customers.

As said by past reviews, wait may be a bit long but everyone there is working multi-tasking. Prices were great, staff was nice and professional. I will use this scrap yard again. Use north entrance to scale.

I go there quite often, it's good people that own it..Even on Thanksgiving they weren't open but I stopped in an they let me drop my load. All in all it's a good place to do business, you guys will see me again!!

Hours on Google differ greatly from when they're actually willing to help you. I have a busy schedule, and their inability to be open when they're supposed to be is infuriating to say the least. It doesn't help my opinion of them that the employees always seem to be annoyed that you are even there. I would recommend going elsewhere, as they seem to not need your business.
