Please, update your rooms. This is the only place in town to stay, and I avoid hosting events in Owosso because there isn't a nice place for guests to stay. If the hotel was nicer we would stay more often. Or maybe a competitor like holiday inn will see these reviews and see this as a business opportunity. If you want to stay in the business, renovate.

Great room, great price, staff was nice and the pool was very warm. Kids had a fantastic time and the beds were clean and very comfortable.Rooms: Very nice plush beds, clean and has opening windows which I love.Nearby activities: Historic sites in walking distance.Safety: Super nice area.Walkability: Blocks from pretty much everything and a very nice downtown.Food & drinks: Hotel restaurant was great but the local doughnut shop was also close enough to walk too.Noteworthy details: It was half the price of what I would expect for the quality of the rooms and amenities. Also had a nice arcade.

I have stayed here multiple times! Clean rooms! AMAZING STAFF! I have the upmost respect for them. They are incredible and are so helpful! Any issues you ever have the friendliest of friendly staff I have ever seen helps! Any booking issues you call over the phone and they answer as quick as possible if they miss you and you call a second time they always pick up! (Lets be honest here we are human, we miss the phone sometimes too) Shoot out to the staff worker tonight especially. I have called a few times before and she has the most bubbly personality ever!Rooms: The rooms are the best part they are always clean and spot free! They are always freshly taken care of and made!

The location was great for us, only 2 miles from the wedding venue we attended. The staff were top notch, friendly and efficient. The room, nothing fancy, your typical hotel room. From there it went down hill. Our view was terrible, overlooked the lobby. The towels are tiny and thin. The bathroom was not clean, hair all over the floor, toilet and sink. The carpet may have been vacuumed, but not well. The bathroom sink would not drain and smelled like vomit. I also get that covid cancelled the continental breakfast at the hotel, so how about opening up the restaurant to serve breakfast? Doubtful I will ever return to Owosso, and if I ever do, it won't be here.

The carpet was dirty and had dog hair and food beside the bed and felt wet. The room smelled of dog urine and cigarettes. I saw dead bugs behind bed and furniture. We had booked a king bed and was told that was not an option when we arrived. The hotel was advertised as having breakfast included but that was not the case. If we had known this before we would have never booked this hotel. The elevator carpet was nasty and the front desk was not helpful in dealing with our complaints. We were afraid to sleep under the sheets the first night as we were afraid of bedbugs. The only thing that was good about this hotel was the proximity to where our relatives lived whom we were visitingWalkability: Close to local parks and where our relatives lived

We had our wedding ceremony and reception at The Comstock Inn. I was overwhelmed at how much support the staff and Kim offered during the planning and setup of the event. We had a simple design and they accommodated every request from ordinary to extraordinary. The food was great, and I recommend you check this place out for your event!Rooms: Presidental suite had so much space! My bridesmaids and I got ready for our ceremony without feeling on top of each other. The service we received from the hotel staff was incredible, they were happy to help at any time!

Our daughter was married in June and we needed a hotel for our out of town guests. The wedding was in Owosso, so we chose Comstock Inn. At first I was concerned because I had read unfavorable reviews in the past. But "the past" is what I want to emphasize. The hotel and rooms have been updated with fresh paint, new mattresses, new bedding, and even new curtains. We had wonderful service from the front desk staff as well as the housekeeping staff. We had more than 28 rooms reserved for two nights for the rehearsal and wedding and we were more than accommodated for. The bar was open for service and our guests were pleased with great late night snacks and beverages. We even hosted a "send-off" brunch on Sunday and we had a lovely buffet in a private space. Kim, the events coordinator handled everything for us. The food was hot, fruit was cold, and once again the service was lovely. This is an older hotel with current amenities and we wouldn't hesitate to stay again. Thank you Comstock Inn and staff!

Read the details. Definitely not worth the per night price. Bring your own bath towels, theirs are like paper thin. If you like a firm mattress, don't sleep on theirs. Had a beautiful view of the Marijuana shop, we got to listen to our neighbors F bomb all night.Needed a place for sleep and shower, and thought I'd give a place in my hometown a chance. I won't do it again!!

Surprisingly nice given its age. Rooms and premises were very clean. Beds were very comfortable. Check in and out were a breeze. They have a nice small indoor pool and a very large lobby area for lounging. This isn't a fancy resort by any means, but it's nicer than the standard hotel if you ask me. If you need a hotel in Owosso, this is a good choice.Walkability: It's downtown, so if there are any shops you're interested in, you can walk to them

The room was absolutely disgusting. Got the presidential suit with the Jacuzzi tub. There was an unknown gross stuff underneath a basket on the edge of the tub. There were hairballs in the tub and around the tub. The bed sheets had what appeared to be blood stains. The chairs had white splatter on the side and a stain running down the front of it. The toilet was not cleaned there were piss stains on the seat and around the bottom. This was quite the worst experience in a hotel being it was there high end room i was expecting a better experience. I would say it almost ruined our vacation. Never again will i come to this hotel. Not worth the money or the time. I wish i could post pictures to show how gross the room truly was.

Just got here and my initial thoughts were that this is a pretty nice hotel. Got my cards and went up to my room, closed the door and my thoughts immediately started going downhill. I heard plain as fay the traffic on the road and thought the window was open, nope. Then I started hearing talking outside my door. So I'm hearing the traffic and the people outside my door. Not a good start. Everything was made up and looked pretty good but super tight. I've found from the hotels I've stayed in that if you can hear through the door, the walls are going to be just as bad. I do not want to be hearing some couple in the room beside me "enjoying their time" nor any other sounds. Used the restroom and found rectal explosion evidence under the seat. Strike 2. If it gets any worse I'm out. I have a semi I can stay in and be much more comfortable for the 2 days I have to wait for my load to be completed. It's just too bad a regular (our customer) recommended this place and paid for it.

Several years ago, we stayed at the Comstock and it was a nice place. We stayed at the Comstock in August, 2022, and could not believe how far downhill it went. There are stains on the old, paper-thin sheets, the pillows were old, lumpy, and yellow, the upholstered chair and carpet were filthy, there was hair in the tub, and the toilets are really old and low. The towels were tiny, rough, and low quality. The price was WAY TOO HIGH for this terrible room! When I asked to talk to a manager, the desk clerk said there were none on duty! I asked for a discount and showed her photos of all I described above.Although we had booked the room for 2 nights, it was hard staying ONE NIGHT! We found a beautiful B&B in St. Johns and we re so much happier with that!We will never stay at the Comstock again and are letting others know about the terrible quality!

Was forced to stop for the night when the weather conditions became too bad to drive. We were traveling with our dog and was told they had 1 pet friendly room left. The room smelled so badly of dog urine that we couldn't breathe. Our dog never once had an accident or marked the odors, but it made for a horribly long night, keeping an eye on him and having to breathe that in. The room was so hot that we had to turn the AC on, which didn't actually produce cold air, just was a fan. We had to open the window in a winter storm between the lack of temperature control and the odor. Sheets were stained and holy also. At checkout, I wanted to bring the urine odor to the clerk's attention. She couldn't care less about what I had to say. A generic robotic response was mumbled without even looking up from her computer. After all the taxes, service fees, and pet fees we paid $200 for this awful room. The $70 Super 8 we stayed at the night before was 10x better. NEVER AGAIN!

Stayed one night and had insect bites on my body the next day. After further investigation I had found bed bugs and eggs in the computer chairs of both rooms that I had payed for. After I had asked for a manager which they do not have on weekends, the receptionist gave me two new joining rooms so before I moved my family to the new rooms I decided to check them first, once I stepped into the first room it smelled heavy of cigarette smoke and the joint room smelled heavy of pot smoke but I looked passed that and started checking rooms for bed bugs which didn t take long at all because I started with the computer chairs and the first thing I had found is dozens of eggs and bed bugs in the creases. What happened to this hotel? It used to be nice and now it s definitely top three worst I ve been to across the country ..

The lobby is clean and the front desk staff was very friendly. The room wasn't great, to say the least. There was one lamp in the entire room and it was broken. The staff replaced it for me right away. The bathroom was pretty gross. The door was filthy, and the floor beneath the sink looked like it hadn't been swept or mopped. The bath tub was dirty and the toilet wouldn't flush. I was literally only staying here for 8 hours, just to sleep, so I didn't bother lodging a complaint. The bed was good enough.

We recently had my son's wedding near this hotel. The hotel screwed up many reservations, left several guest without rooms and were not easy to work with. On the day of the wedding myself and my sons were told we had to leave our rooms because they did not have us down for reservations for both nights. So as we were trying to get dressed for the wedding they wanted us to leave, when we had reserved the rooms for two nights. They even threatened to call the police and have us arrested because we would not leave. The person at the desk refused to call the manager for something he clearly could not handle. Fortunately some of the wedding guest staying there made other accommodations so we were able to use their room. The rooms are outdated and old. The towels and bedsheets were stained and dirty. I wouldn't recommend this place for anything. The staff attempted to contact the manager because there was clearly a problem that they could not handle. But no results from the staff or manager except threats of calling police and arrests. Nice!!

Pleasant easy check in..Lobby looks nicer than the rest of hotel. The elevators are disgustingly dirty. The room is a visual nightmare. The walls are a bright mustard yellow with orange curtains. Mattress pad on hard bed kept bunching up. Matress cover had large brown stain. Nightstand drawer broken. Bathroom sink visibly dirty. Bathroom floor was sticky. Road noise and loud AC unit is bothersome. Bring a fan, slippers, sheets and cleaning supplies if you plan on staying here

We rented the presidential jacuzzi suite. It was dated and bit dirty. Stains on the pull out sofa. A big hole had been cut in the wall beneath the sink to fix plumbing at some point. Repair to drywall was shotty at best. The Jacuzzi didn't seem to want to hold water. Had to fidget with the tub plug multiple times to get it to stop leaking. (Again just seemed old and in need of updating) We expected a bit nicer for the price charged. I guess they can get away with it being one of the only bigger hotels in the area. The rest of the hotel was very nice however. I loved they had a coffee bar that was open throughout the day. Our daughter enjoyed the pool and said it was warm. So that was a bonus.Having the attached Tanglewood Restaurant And Bar was an added bonus as we were able to grab dinner and a couple cocktails without leaving the premises. We would stay again, although I doubt we'd pay for a suite. Likely just stick with a regular room. And enjoy the better things mentioned.I will add that the location is great if your wanting to walk to other businesses. There's a movie theater and a bar that seemed to have pretty decent live music directly behind the hotel. It's also within walking distance to Curwood Castle, And other cultural things. And many other businesses as it's in the heart off the downtown area.
