The best place to take your Porsche (I had a 2013 Porsche Diesel)... really the best local shop you can trust! The team is honest, easy to work with, you'll feel comfortable asking questions, transparent pricing, quick service.

It's my opinion that this shop is not trustworthy. I brought my car here on recommendation from a close friend. I needed annual service, spark plugs, and a serpentine belt. It took several weeks just to get an appointment and they took almost a month to complete these simple repairs. When I picked up the vehicle I didn't make it 2 miles from the shop and the car overheated. Turns out the serpentine belt was not installed correctly and the car overheated. Almost 4 months later I received an email from Dave the manager stating my car was ready and that he had forgotten about it. The icing on the cake is they billed me $400 to fix their mistake. Check their reviews on other sites it appears that have a track record of incompetence and poor service.

I have a 1977 Porsche. Scoured through many recommendations and shops finally choosing to try this one. Best decision I could have made. All you have todo is drop the car off, let them know what is needed ,have some patience and they will take it from there. Prices are fair, work is solid, communication is good. This is my shop from now on.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Engine repair

My wife took her car here on a recommendation. When we dropped the car off we were greeted by a friendly smile by one of the technicians, Dave.He was honest and very detailed with the information he gave us before we dropped the car off for service..He gave us some great nuggets of information on our vehicle that proved to be not only helpful but true money savers.They were able to take care of our car quickly, which was an oil change and the issue we had with acceleration problems.This is an auto repair place that you definitely want to add to your personal list of places to visit for your car. We are completely pleased with the service we received

There's a lot of mechanics who are just parts replacers. I've had my fair share of bad experiences with mechanics who will just throw parts at the car charging you parts and labour till the problem is fixed. This wasn't the case with Automotive Techniques. They were able to accurately diagnose my car and accommodate me into their schedule. They communicated well and quickly. I'm usually weary of trusting mechanics due to past experiences, but I will definitely be using Autmotive Techniques again. Seems they are usually busy though so maybe adding to the roster of skilled technicians would give more people the opportunity to benefit from them :)Services: Electrical repair, Auto engine diagnostic

I have been going to Automotive Techniques for years. Extremely honest and capable. The best repair and maintenance service for European cars in Michigan. And they are extremely honest. Whatever they recommend, you can be sure you are getting great advice and great service. I have an Audi and needed to get a few things addressed awhile back and I found Automotive Techniques. I can t say enough good things about this shop. Dave s (the owner) pricing is good, he doesn t sell you what you don t need and he does a helluva job. Great place as an alternative to the dealer, very honest pricing and good quality work. Dave is always very helpful and his estimates are very good. Definitely my go to place for my Audis. They do wheel balancing at better tolerance than the tire stores and also have a nice alignment machine. If you actually care about the details of your car's servicing, this is the place to come to.

Automotive Techniques is a real hometown garage! Jeff and his staff are honest and fair. They are also big car enthusiasts so every time I go there Jeff shows me some interesting vehicle.I ve been using Automotive Techniques for years and have no problem recommending my friends and family do the same.Well worth a visit!

I have been taking my cars here for years. The service techs are the best in the business and the owner Jeff is hands down the nicest guy in the industry. Dave the service writer is as helpful as they come. I can t say enough nice things about them. Highly recommended!

Real car guys indeed. Jeff is fantastic. They have been my Porsche mechanics for many years now and I have never been let down. From simple annual inspections and oil changes to pulling the engine and transmission, replacing my clutch and much more! I wouldn't trust my 30 year old 911 to anyone else.

I called about bringing in a used car for an inspection and was able to get in immediately. The team spent about an hour with the car and were able to identify a few small issues (even though it was inspected by the dealership) which I was able to use for negotiating a good price. Overall I was assured it was a good car despite the few minor flaws. So far so good! Thanks David!

Automotive Techniques has done extensive work on my BMW 650i Gran Coupe, and my Jeep Wrangler. From cosmetic accessories, to maintenance and installing aftermarket performance parts. Let me just say that Dave(manager), Jeff(owner), and the rest of their crew have always gone above and beyond to make every job successful and Tom make me happy. I highly recommend them to anyone in the area who wants a professional job done right, and timely. 5 stars! Check them out!!

They break all the stereotypes for mechanics. The owner, Jeff, is there everyday and genuinely wants the best for each customer and their car. They will not to sell you something you don't need or would be in the best interest for your car. I got my car back and it was vacuumed and washed. What other repair shop will do that?!?!Would recommend to anyone and everyone.

Brought my Macan Turbo for an oil change for the first time, heard that they focus on Porsche vehicles. I requested 0W40 oil but the receipt says 5W40 after the service. I called back and left a message to Dave but never heard back. I called back again few days later, Dave said that 0W40 oil was used and argued that 5W40 is better. I just wanted to know the type of oil is installed because it can affect the performance and winter condition. I had to schedule this oil change service a month ahead and they charged $120 on labor. I think they may be good for their existing customers only.

I called and scheduled an appointment a couple of weeks ago and just dropped off my vehicle for the repair. I called the front desk when they opened after dropping the vehicle off and was informed that they "were not going to be able to get to the repair for a couple of weeks". I spoke with the owner and he told me that they had some issues last week and that they neglected to call me and notify me that I was not going to be able to get the repair done. Moral of the story: I spent time and money to drop off the vehicle, paid for an Uber to get home, was told that they cant help me and that they knew they couldnt last week, now I have to pay for an Uber to pick the vehicle up. Tell your friends and family to stay away!!!!!

I had Automotive Techniques perform a PPI on an '87 Porsche 944 that I was purchasing from out of state. Despite being booked for weeks in advance, they managed to slip the car in within a week. They even fixed a vacuum leak while they were at it!An associate of mine who restores old Porsches as a hobby looked over the report and was impressed by their thoroughness. All in all, I am very pleased with my decision to use Automotive Techniques.

At 5pm on a Friday a radiator hose on my Mitsubishi Spyder burst while driving down Grand River. I had pulled into the nearest parking lot to call for a tow truck when a young man, Dave Dehnke, drove up, popped the hood and diagnosed the problem. He told me to call down the street to O'Reilly's and have them deliver the part, then had me drive around to the back of the building. Turns out I'd broken down right in front of Automotive Techniques. O'Reilly's delivered the part within a 1/2 hr which gave me time to take a look at some of the amazing cars in the shop and talk with the guys working on them. When the part was delivered Dave fixed it immediately and I was on my way. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a place offering honest, quality service by people who go above and beyond to help.

There attention to detail was amazing, specifically Dave and Shane went above and beyond to make sure our car was done on time and have GREAT customer service. I will definitely be taking Al of my vehicles there.

Brought my vw tdi in that had a broken lifter and severe cam damage. With a new head installed, they got my car running better than before and with complete confidence, drove to Virginia Beach. Thanks guys

Thumbs-up.I was in a bit of a pucker about how much I spent repairing our vehicle. Once I got it back, I felt much better. They did high quality work.
