I had a horrible experience with a dealership and took my car to Hal s for a second opinion. The entire staff was so friendly and helpful. They explained all of the repairs needed and answered all of my questions. They are fast, efficient, and charge reasonable prices for their high quality services. I will never go to another repair shop, they have more than earned my loyalty!

Had a great experience at Hals Auto Clinic on 7 mile in Northville. I needed my my rear brakes pads & rotors replaced. I had received a quote from a Subaru dealership for this work that was several hundred $$ more than what Hal quoted me. I am a senior on a fixed income and I really appreciated their pricing for the same work. They even took a bit more off because I was able to use one of their coupons. The office staff was kind & explained all that needed to be done very clearly. I received communication by text & direct phone call about the progress of the work and pick up time. I would highly recommend Hals Auto!

Review based solely on phone interaction. No repport built, no clear communication just here is the next 2 week out appointment...Edit: Matt contacted me and made the situation right. Informed me of the information I was after and was willing to get my car looked at asap. Unfortunately, I was already at a nearby shop getting my brakes and rotors done. I appreciate the willingness to make it right, and for that, I will give Hals another chance when one of my cars is in need.

Brandon at the front desk is incredibly helpful and friendly. Work was done without cutting corners and in a timely manner. I can't recommend Hal's enough, great people all around.

Brought my car here after a bad experience with a certified dealership. The guys took my car in and did a very thorough and honest diagnostic. Brandon, Matt, and the rest of the guys are very professional, personable, helpful, intelligent, and honest. I ve gone to multiple dealerships in the past and have never had this level of customer service prior to going here. Thank you Hal s and all the gentleman that worked on my car! Brandon and his team are AMAZING. Every other shop in the area charges an arm and a leg but the costs at Hal's keeps me and my Jeep coming back. Brandon was informative, genuine, honest, patient and thorough. I have a Wrangler with 162,000 miles on it, and it was tired and had been acting up for months. It now runs like it did when I bought it almost 9 years ago. Brandon made sure I received the coverage I was entitled to under what is now my second extended warranty. The parts and repairs that weren t covered under the warranty were very reasonably priced. I have also trusted them with my daughter s car. I had to have some work done and my warranty company recommended Hal's. Brandon & Scott were awesome, and kept me informed the whole time. Their knowledge of cars & performance is top notch. My jeep now runs beautifully & the customer service was fantastic! When I need something done on my jeep again, I will be back.

I have been a Hals customer for a long time, I have ALWAYS received top notch service, at both locations, but the service I got today was above and beyond.Brandon, the service manager is fantastic and helpful, even when dealing with a discourteous person.Eric, my service technician was great!I have always appreciated that I know I will get treated with respect and never have I worried whether they are doing what I brought my vehicle in for, and they do it at the best price!

Love this shop. The manager Brandon is awesome! They are great at communicating and working with you. I know how difficult it can be to have a car break down or be so busy it s hard to get it in for an oil change. But as long as you communicate with them they will go out of their way to help you! Being that I recently moved to this area I was very skeptically taking my car to a new shop that I had never worked on my car before. But they made me feel very comfortable leaving my car with them as really made it all hassle free for me. As long as I live in this area I will always bring my cars here!

After spent more than $600 dollars to replace lower control arms, the clatter noise doesn t get better. So I went back to ask if they could take a second look and I was told I need to pay additional $99 for inspection. I was shocked as the first inspection before repair was free and confirmed by Brandon. When I told the guy it was free and he insisted no inspection was free and he asked me how many years I drove. He said he already did me a favor to check the battery as it should cost another $49 dollars. I said the email I received from AAA states your shop would do a free battery check for AAA membership. He replied we don t work for AAA. Ok, maybe I should blame AAA sends me scam email? Not happy with attitude and will not go back.A little update, Brandon did text and explain, I appreciate his patience, kindness and understanding. If he was there, things would be much different. I was not told potential $99 diagnosis fee at the beginning. All I confirmed it was free inspection before I made the decision to repair. Anyhow, not important, I definitely learned something new.

I brought my car to this shop mainly because it is AAA certified. After having my car for nearly a week, they told me the problem with my car; a faulty purge valve. Ironically, that was the diagnosis I got from the Autozone on the check engine light read out. Now, they handed me a diagnosis that said they smoke tested and determined I needed to change said part. They quoted me over $1,000 for two repairs my car was in need of. Mind you, this is $220 in parts (at retail cost) and wanted $1,000+ to install purge valve solenoid and two ABS/Speed sensors. I paid them $150 diagnostic fee and declined to have it fixed there opting to do the work myself. Now, I have changed the purge valve and cleared the check engine light only for it go back on after driving approximately 60 miles. It is giving the same EVAP error I originally brought it in for. So, I basically paid $150 for them to not diagnose the issue at all. Personally, I feel I was ripped off intentionally,Service: Auto maintenance

edit: Bumped up a star after the owner called me after the incident to apologize and confirmed the manager was in the wrong with what happened which was appreciated. It's a small business and employees can make mistakes but it was still a frustrating inconvenience for my family. A reliable mechanic can be tough to find so we won't rule out Hal's when needed in the future, but we'll make sure to triple confirm everything before showing up in person.Hal's has done serviced a couple of my vehicles in the past with decent work and pricing. I was expecting the same when I went to get a set of tires mounted and balanced, but when I showed up in the morning after calling off work the Tech demanded it was going to cost nearly double than what the Service Mgr had quoted me less than 24 hour prior. I don't know if he was having a bad morning or what but walked right out of there and went to another shop around the corner.

Clean, comfortable customer area. Brandon (Mgr) very attentive to customers description of issues with their vehicles. Mike (head tech) explains what he finds in a way the customers can understand. Very busy shop with very professional staff. Highly recommend.

Couple months ago I had minor services done. They did an amazing job. Very thorough and polite. The wipers are great and everything went well. They let me know of the depleting condition of my battery but didn't pressure me to buy one. I found out the hard way a few weeks later. They were right.Thanks Hal's

This is absolutely the best place you can take your car to for repairs. Adam, their service desk guy, is a most decent and polite individual you will meet. He never loses his cool and he works with you to meet your needs within your budget. Their prices are reasonable and they give you some break if you ask. My Dodge Ram conversion van has 192,000 miles and I think with Hals Auto Clinic help I may be still driving it when the odometer hits 292,000. What I like about them is that even if you don't remember they did some work for you and you go to them if they find it is under warranty, which they give for 2 years/24000, they honor it. I took my van last week because its heat was not working. They repaired it and to my surprise charged me nothing. I had totally forgotten that a year ago I had gone with the same problem and their computer had remembered it and they honored their warranty.

I've used Hal's for all my cars, my fiance's, and my folks do as well. Incredibly honest, detailed work. They only do what's necessary and work with me on a plan to keep my car on the road (I drive old cars) but in a way affordable to me. It's a safe, clean, incredibly organized, and polite business, unlike many shops. Give them a call.

Hal s Auto Clinic in Northville did an outstanding job! My wife and I have been bouncing around different service dealerships and auto shops not 100% satisfied with the service or work done at times. Hal s Auto Clinic delivered exceptional service and work. I would highly recommend them to anyone. I ll be a regular customer going forward and my wife will start going as well. Jeremy

My car needed new brakes, I had it checked out at another local repair shop and they gave me a price that was quite high and , I called Hal's Auto and spoke with Jason, he was very knowledgeable and gave me some good information, I decided to give Hal's a try, I was very pleased with the service I was given. Jason and Mike saved me a lot of money and even got my car repaired in just a few hours. I would definitely recommend Hal's Auto Clinic to all my friends and family.
