I was recently on the road in the snow and found myself with a flat tire. I knew Straub's was close so I headed there with hopes that they'd be able to help me. Thankfully they paused what they were working on, took my car right away and were able to plug the hole in my tire quickly and for a very reasonable fee. I've driven past this shop for over 20 years and never expected to have to stop. I'm so grateful that they were there and willing to help me today. I'd definitely visit again for any car repair needs. Thank you so much!

I have taken my vehicles to Straubs Auto for some 15 years plus. Recently, I had a rattle in my pick up truck that I could not find, and I felt like the brakes might need to be replaced. They found my rattle for me, a slight bumper issue And told me my brakes were just fine. No charge at all. That s why I keep going back. Tom Cindy, and Kyle , you re the best!!!

Straub s has been our family s go to mechanic for the 7 years. Tom and Kyle and extremely honest and do phenomenal work. I brought my 2015 Ford Flex in to Straub"s for a tune-up, brakes etc. Kyle called me after checking my car out and let me know that the cost of repairs would be extensive and would outweigh the value of my vehicle. I have brought a number of other vehicle to Straub's that were older and greater milage which they were able to repair for a fair price so in this case I knew that my best option was to purchase a new vehicle. I appreciate the honesty in dealing with Straub's and I will definitely continue to patronize them in the future.

I was immediately impressed by the cleanliness and nice decor in the shop. Lots of places I've been to are dirty and unimpressive but inside Tom's it's easy on the eyes. The employees there seem to be very knowledgeable and take pride in their work. I've only been there once, will update if things change.

Called on a Monday. Brought my car in that Friday morning, and my car was fixed and back at home before they closed for the day! They are efficient and knowledgeable, and a local family business with years of experience!

I went to this company on behalf of my elderly mother who's check engine light came on. Nothing noticeably wrong with her car that only had 10k miles, but the check engine light made her worry. She went to the dealership and was told she would have to leave her car for 2 weeks before they could even look at it. Straub was able to get her in within 2 days and had everything taken care of the same day! I would highly recommend this company to anyone.

Went to get my exhaust put back on my 2008 Ford Escape, whole time I was talked to with an attitude when I m trying to give them work, and honestly seemed like they didn t want me service to begin with. the exhaust rusted off but I know for a fact it could be clamped back on, which I get that they don t wanna deal with old parts so they want you to buy new ones but not everyone can afford it. They told me it would be almost 400$ after said and done to buy new muffler and resonator when I have them in the back still good to use, they just need a little bit of work and could be clamped back on. L Customer Service and L Mechanic, I ll be doing it myself for the small price of 50$

I called at 8 am, asking about a clunking sound with every bump ( I mean Michigan home of pot holes). I was thinking it was shocks or suspension. They called me shortly after drop off & said I needed front and rear breaks and sway bar. I have used them before for another repair. My husband also had a repair on a work vehicle through them. They are so honest & reasonable. The dealership will take your car for days and make you get a rental and spend WAY more. Straub s got the job done the very same day. I am grateful for honest, hardworking people who aren t trying to rip you off. Don t even go to another mechanic, they are the best!Service: Brakes

I was actually referred by friend to have my car towed over to Tom and Kyle. They we're very upfront with what was wrong with my car and what I would need and what the price would be. I had my fuel pump replaced. They only had my car for 2 days which is crazy to me for what needed to be done. My car runs great, and actually has never ran better. I give them five stars because they were quick, efficient, and honest. And they got me in and out no issues. I highly recommend and I will be looking forward to bringing my vehicles to them in the future!!

I am so glad Straub's was recommended to me for front end work on my van.Tom is one helluva nice guy. Update, 07/09/21: Had an issue with same Fusion, car would not accelerate past 10mph at one point. Was able to get it to Straub's at around 8:30AM. In about an hour Tom identified the issue to be the throttle body and quoted me a fair price, along with a fair price for tuneup. Job was completed by 3:30PM, same day. When I went to pick it up, Tom showed the work that he had done, including a free oil change! Once again VERY pleased with the service!We had issues with our exhaust system on our Ford Fusion, pipe broke off and began to hang down. Car also had a slow leak coming from the engine compartment. A neighbor highly recommended Straub's auto repair. We contacted Straub's and dropped car off same day. Tom (owner/mechanic) located several issues, one stemmed from a prior repair that was made which he explained in detail. Tom ended up working on our car and did a great job, saved us a lot of money along the way. After the repair was completed he took his time and described what he replaced and even showed us the parts. Very impressed with the quality of work and can easily say that they just gained another valuable customer!

Kyle and Tom showed true professionalism, honesty, and the quality of work received was great! They both took time to listen, and explain in detail what they were doing and what was needed to be done to fix the issue. They didn't recommend things not needing to be fixed, just what was needed to fix the issue and any issues to make my vehicle safe to drive. I appreciate the time and patience to explain what was going on and answering any questions I had. I would highly recommend!Services: Steering & suspension repair, General repairs & maintenance

I would give this place a 10 star rating if I could! My car was running loud and I thought it was something with my engine. I took it to Straub s early in the morning and Tom said he would take a look at it. It turned out the loud noise was coming from a bad wheel bearing. He called me while replacing the wheel bearing and said my front brakes were almost completely gone. He was kind enough to replace my brakes while he was at it. I had my car back by the end of the day! He even stayed a little bit later than normal closing time to get it fix! Kind, professional, and friendly people here. We need more of them in this world! We love Straub s . Not only are they very affordable they will go out of their way to make sure you re well taken care of and return your vehicle in a timely fashion. I had a local dodge dealer quote me 3x the amount to do the spark plugs in my truck then I paid at Straub s . Being a woman I often feel taken advantage of in the automotive industry, they assume I know nothing . I took my truck in 6 times for an engine noise at a dealer they kept telling me they couldn t hear it. I took it to Straub s they found it the first time . I can t can recommend them enough they service my vehicle and all our extended family. It s nice to be able to support a local business that does excellent work !

We took in a 2005 Taurus for hard shifting/ miss fire. We left it there on Thursday the 30th and received a call that night around 1630/430pm to come take it for a test drive, but it was close to closing time for them and we didn't want to keep them there any longer than need be. We showed up Friday the 1st of October 2021 took it for a test drive and It was a smooth ride. Come to find out it was a vacuum issue. The payment was $70 but we was surprised to find out that we would not be charged. I recommend this place for their professionalism, not because of not being charged. On my way out of town for a business trip all of a sudden I feel a violent shake from my car. It continues until I pull over. After being towed to the nearest shop Straub s Auto they inform me that it s a pretty busy day but they ll call after it s been checked out. After explaining I m on the way out of town for a business trip they say they ll get to it as soon as possible. I m expecting the typical experience where as soon as possible is multiple days later. However to my surprise 3 hours later they call back and tell me not only have they looked at it but the repair is complete and I can get to my meeting. Upon my arrival back to the shop the owner and his son sit down with me and explain exactly what the issue was. They also inspected the other wheels to make sure everything was in working order. I was so pleased with the service (which was really cheap) that I left a $30 tip. Great people, great service, great prices, I ll never take my vehicle anywhere else again.

This is now the only place I'll take my vehicle. I left once with no charge after he even took the time to look at it. Another time I thought I was in for a huge repair. He sent me out the door with a $20 charge for a part. Great mechanic! Honest mechanic!

Took vehicle in for suspected blown motor. Tom confirmed motor was blown. Proceeded to tel my wife that he knows that I had tried working on the car and didn t tell her! I know how to work on cars but this was outside of my scope and certainly didn t mess with car. Have ballpark prices on used and new motors but told wife he would look into used motors and get prices and that he would check back with her every few days to let us know what he finds. Two weeks went by with no calls. My wife had to call him and he them gave us three options for used and new motors. He said he could continue to look for less priced motors but if we decided to not use him if he found something lower he would charge us for storage? Two days later we decided we weren t fixing the vehicle doe to the cost and he tried to charge us $120 for storage and his labor for calling for motors. I told him we had to wait for two weeks to even get a price from him so how is it fair to charge us when it took him two weeks to quote us. Tried saying my wife was lying and that he wanted to talk to her because she s not telling me everything. He didn t know that he was always talking to her when I was by her. Tried claiming he kept on communication with her every few days even though he took two weeks to even call us. He is not truthful and clearly a bully! He needed up waiving his storage fee but insisted that I have my wife call him. I asked what for and he said so he could set the record straight and get on the same page . Really! This is how you treat and talk to customers. Will never ever recommend this place to everyone. At minimum Tom should stick with turning wrenches and stay off the phone. Your mechanical work may indeed be quality but you certainly shouldn t be dealing with personal interactions!

Dropped my truck off at 8am for driveshaft universals replacement and completed and picked up before noon. The price was the best I could find as well. Would recommend and use again in the future. I am (nearly) speechless. Straub's truly impressed me. They didn't just go above and beyond for me; that's just their level of service! They offer a free estimate, and will call before doing any work. Straub's quoted and charged me an extremely fair price, and they completed replacing a wheel bearing and full set of brakes in less than a day; I dropped off and picked up my car the same day. I will never go anywhere else but Straub's!
