Worst experience ever. Had my transmission built then a few weeks later I had a no movement situation. He looked at it again and told me the trans case was cracked. Then a week later I had another no movement situation. He looks at it again and tells me the converter was bad(converter was a brand new expensive unit when I brought it to him).So I ship the converter to get assessed and comes back good after 3 weeks. I Then drop it off again and after I pick it up the 3rd time it slips through every gear. I ended up bringing my truck to another shop and paying for another rebuild and I didn t have 1 problem after the rebuild. I Do not recommend this place if your looking for reliable work.Service: Transmission

I ve had the privilege of knowing this shop and it s owner for close to 25 years. Every time I need something fixed, or just parts for different projects, they have been able to help. Great service and dependable repairs.Service: TransmissionService: Transmission

My car has been in here at least 4-5x in 6 mons. It's a good idea to be thorough when explaining your vehicle issues. This place gets a lot of business and there is usually a wait to get your vehicle in. They charge a premium amount for their labor so you expect to get your vehicle fixed and not just your parts changed. So if you get a vehicle such as mine which seems to be a problem child it's a good idea to explain to the owner "politely" that you're beginning to feel not so pleased with the quality of their work. It's an older vehicle and the initial first time there back in June/July was to give me a rundown on repairs so I would know if I would sell this vehicle like it is, or keep and fix since it was handed down to me. Well it ended up costing me more than it should have, especially in just 6 months. I would also like to add the reason I continued coming here was the owner noticed something they missed on the second time my car was brought in (4 days later, called and had to bring it back) and he took care of it at no charge. I was very thankful. I have limited knowledge on cars and I would not have known the difference if he wouldn't have been truthful and would have charged me. So I believed this to be a business with integrity. Unfortunately my car had to be brought back a couple more times and each time I had to wait a couple weeks to even get it in. Basically I began to feel the main issue of my car was being missed and that it was costing me up the whaazoo and that the parts they were replacing wasn't the main problem at all, but the after effects of it not being fixed in the first place. Thankfully the owner listened and looked over the previous work they had done and took the extra time to really fix it and make it right. I was not charged for half of the labor and he went above and beyond and fixed a few other things on it himself and also didn't charge me for those parts or the labor. It now runs so well it doesn't even sound like the same vehicle. I am so pleased!!! Although I spent way more than I intended on this car, I am at least happy that I wasn't intentionally taken advantage of. I have a renewed confidence in this business and would recommend to family and friend's.

Great Service and the Job was done right. I have a 2014 Chevy Silverado 1500 that I had owned as a second owner and at 149K the Transmission started slipping. I knew it had to get fixed as it is my daily driver and our family recreational vehicle. My husband Jason and I wanted it done right. After shopping around and talking my husband's buddy Brad suggested JonnyMac's. I hadnt heard the name in at least 12 years, the good ole Fruitport and Ravenna guys used to rave about the place.Got in rather quickly and after a good solid week our truck was done before the next weekend. Best Pricing! On top of all that our truck now runs and drives way better than ever before! Thanks Guys! Great Job! Definetly will Highly Recommend!Service: Transmission

Jon worked on my 2012 Pursuit Dodge Charger. My Dodge Charger required an engine replacement and later required a transmission along with an oil pump that corresponds with the P06DD code.- My invoice stated that Jon removed and replaced my engine himself, my engine is fine and runs good. I was a little skeptical at first but that s neither here nor there.- I later required assistance because my car threw an engine light and P06DD was the code behind it, and my RPM s didn t match my MPH. My car would go 20MPH at 4RPMS.- One of Jon s mechanics told me I needed a transmission. He stated that they d provide me with a used one and proceed to fix my P06DD problem. For this repair, according to the invoice Jon didn t work on my car this time another mechanic did.- Fast forward, I m still having problems with my oil PSi that gave me the P06DD code, I just picked my car up today (3/16/2022) around 12:30pm - 1:00pm. I called and the front office lady asked someone named Robert was my PSi normal (I was doing 12-15 PSi while at the stop light , stop sign, or just by idling), he said yes.- I m researching this and finding out that it isn t, so I ll be sure to ask Jon first thing tmr. My transmission, Jon says it was replaced but my TCM has to be reprogrammed at Dodge. That s fine, but my thing is the replacement transmission is doing the same thing my old transmission was doing. So did I really need a transmission? Idk, I m skeptical but I do appreciate Jon removing my old engine and replacing it. That was my first time dealing with his business, and a great start of a customer & mechanic relationshipFirst repair (Engine removal and replacement): $1900, he replaced my engine then claimed I needed a new alternator, the original price was $1400. He placed the alternator without my permissionSecond repair (Oil sending unit, transmission): $1277, I paid $500 up front just to for me to come with the rest when it was done and have an extra $100 added on to my total. What if I paid all up front? Jon along with a someone named Josh did this repair. I m skeptical about this repair because I m still having PSi issues and my transmission is still doing the same thing it was when it went to the shop.Services: Transmission, Oil change
