Even though I know Joe, my review has nothing to do with that fact. I expect work to be completed without returns because of bad workmanship. I usually do my own repairs because of some really bad service shops in Muskegon.I've had several vehicle's in to Joe's. Both times I had no issues with the work.First, my Jeep Wrangler blew the transmission line in January's snow storm. Sent it to Joe's. They reviewed the problem and text me the cost of repairs. (I really don't like being txt on service). Gave them the go-ahead. I thought the trans was wasted but Joe said it was good. Good call , drove to Traverse 3x, Chicago 2x, Petosky 2x. Still 100%Second, Wrangler had front tie rods replaced. Gave me a complete review of other found issues. Had just rods replaced. Need to bring in to have O2 sensor replaced.Third, 06 Mustang had rattles in the front end. Joe reviewed the problem and text the issue to me. A problem with the txt was bad so I stopped by. The girls were super nice and apologized for the problem. They fixed it in a reasonably amount of time. The cost was scary but thats because of the Joe Biden effect (high product cost). (Fool of a president).I have a 91 Ford Probe that needs a little service before it goes to a car show. I do have another guy that usually services my Bronco. Does a great job and sometimes doesn't charge me or a small amount due.Not sure who gets the Probe repairs, HAS to be right the first time.Joe has a great office crew, professional in my opinion.

This is more like a 2 and half star review. They do good work but good lord are they disorganized. They constantly have problems keeping track of what they were told to look at, and the people in the office are always running around like chickens with there heads cut off everytime I go. Besides the one time the mechanic "looked" at my tailgate and didn't find any problems, he left the handle stuck open when I picked it up even though the handle not closing the latch was my direct complaint about the tailgate. They do decent garage work, but that office of theirs is a disaster and it's a miracle they get work done in there, if it's always the way it is when I bring my car in (I've been in a good 4-5 times now)

The nicest, organized staff. The inside has a cute little waiting area with friendly welcoming staff. A cool read out of their diagnostics that easy to read with convenient texting system. They are very honest and trustworthy, I feel like I m dropping my car off with my aunt and uncles to fix. The only bad thing was there were dirty hand prints on my interior, but I d take that for the friendly, patient and expert care they give.Services: Transmission, Electrical repair, General repairs & maintenance, Electrical, Auto engine diagnostic, Auto engine tuning, Auto brake repair, Engine repair, Vehicle Inspection, Wheel alignment, Brakes, Vehicle safety inspection, Auto maintenance, Oil change

If you want your vehicle to be ruined, go here and blow all your money. They will make sure to do faulty work, and never take accountability for screwing up your vehicle. As a bonus, your vehicle will never run the same again, and have continual problems.Your response shows exactly what kind of people you are. Blaming the client. I did tell you there were problems when I pulled right out of your parking lot and my check engine light immediately came back on, yet you told me it was nothing urgent or detrimental to my vehicle. Stop blaming this on me, you did faulty work and you just can't accept the fact that you did. If the job was too big for you to do properly, you should have just told us that instead taking thousands from us. My bad for thinking you'd want to make things right, usually local shops pride themselves on doing honest work.

I dont know if they are under new management, but I had recently the worst experience with a shop I have ever had. I do not recommend this place to anyone!

Very honest service. I was 4 hours from home with my travel trailer and supposed to be heading home when my truck got stuck in 4 wheel low. No other shop could get me in for a week and my wife and I already had to call off a day of work at this point. He could of charged me anything he wanted and I would of been forced to pay it. He got me back on the rode with only hour of labor. So glad by chance I ended up with such an honest shop.

The quality of work has gone severely down hill from the company it use to be. My car has been there 3 DAYS for an alignment I had scheduled prior. Constant excuses by the staff and false information to make it seem like they are progressing but haven't touched the car.

I brought my vehicle here after our timing belt snapped. Service was done well and under our estimated quote. However, in the following week my car started stalling and not able to turn over, so yet again we brought it to Joe's. They overlooked our horribly corroded battery, and offered to replace it. Ok, cool. Cars good now, right? Nope, went to pull it out then lot and it stalled out, and I was told it'd be another week and was given attitude by Joe while I'm crying and just trying to explain my frustration. Left it with them again because I was frazzled and just wanted to go home with my toddler and my patient mother in law. Got called later that day and was told it was because my air conditioner was on. Go to start it up, made sure everything was off, and it stalled AGAIN in their parking lot. At this point, I just took my car home. I appreciate the quick service on the belt but everything else afterwards was not fun at all.Service: Engine repair

I really liked the service at Joe's. The staff is very friendly. I love that they text you everything the mechanic checked on your vehicle and how it looks. The front desk was also very thorough making sure I knew what I was paying for. Seemed a little pricey, but because of their service I'll definitely be returning.

My spouse took the day off work to help me bring my car into Joe's after waiting 2 weeks for a 9 a.m. diagnostic appointment. At 3 in the afternoon when my spouse picked me up from work, my car still had not even been looked at!! I could have brought my own car in after I got out of work had I known it wasn't going to be "until 4" like Joe said when I called that day. I went in to pick up my car at 5:30 before they closed so I could get to work the next day and it still hadn't even been officially looked at. A whole lot of inconvenience for nothing!! I was quoted what was wrong with my vehicle based on my description of the problem.. not even being checked out!Why even have appointment times??Completely unprofessional and highly recommend trying someone else first!

I'll change this review depending on what happens when my son goes back. He picked his car up on Friday. And has to take it back on Monday. They had put a new battery in the wrong way, which ruined his alternator. So they did at least put a new alternator in at no charge. So they did a diagnostic on his car, and the electrical was ok. They fixed his radio which had been messed up by the whole battery thing. And threw in a free oil change. So I honestly want to thank them for doing right by him. My family has had some bad experiences with mechanics so I appreciate that they made everything right. Thank you for showing there are good people out there.

Excellent work and very honest. Joe has done an outstanding job of building a loyal clientele because of his exceptional work and customer satisfaction. He tries hard to get jobs done in a timely fashion yet still maintaining his exacting professional standards, all while keeping his prices at a very fair rate.It is so nice to see his hard work pay off with the new addition to the garage. Look forward to working with him in the future.Hopefully far far future though. Let's face it no one really likes paying for car repairs.Years later and still very happy with the honesty and integrity of Joe's shop.

My partner got our Subaru worked on here. Our brakes needed redone and honestly I have never had such good service. We needed out car back the same day- dropped it off in the morning and had it back before 5pm. They messaged us every step of the way with pictures updates and information. Their attention to detail was phenomenal and we plan on bringing our car back the next time it needs work.Thank you so much for your amazing service

(Not sure why this is posting under my son's name...a crossover in our email or something I guess). Anyway, I'm visiting my mom from out of town and needed new brakes. They were super friendly, helpful, and fit me in on short notice (next day). Texted me within a couple of hours of dropping off my car to let me know what needed to be done and what it would cost. After I gave permission to proceed, they did and texted back a few hours later that the car was ready. They were recommended to me, and I'm glad I chose to go with them.Service: Brakes

My boyfriend and I just recently went here to get the turbo fixed on our 2013 Escape. Originally nobody could get us in for a week, and quotes were well over $200-$500. Meanwhile Joe's was able to get us in the next day for around $100-$150. Work was quick and well done. Everybody was so nice and customer service was awesome. Most places just kinda push you through and don't care. But they really made us feel like they cared and were focused on doing the job right. Highly recommend and I even plan on calling them soon for some work on my buick!

I've been taking my vehicles to Joe for over a year now. He has always been very honest and accurate with his diagnoses. His dedication to his customers doesn't end when you pick up your vehicle as he is always willing to help you out with advice or a quick look at something quick and simple. I recently took a vehicle I was purchasing from a dealer to Joe for a FREE inspection and he spotted some things the dealer either missed or chose not to fix. Saved me a huge headache and lots of money in the end.

Joe's service station has served me and my peers so well over the past few years. I'm upset I didn't know about them sooner! Their service is always impeccable and they are always so nice and courteous. They answer every single question you may have and then some - in person or on social media. Any services done are met in an extremely timely manner and I am always satisfied. Everyone at Joe's Service Station is extremely knowledgeable and I will continue to bring them my business in the future!

Taken a couple of my vehicles to Joe. Always great technical and customer service! They go above and beyond what is needed or expected. Text message update of overall inspection, which is very helpful. Also, very reasonable prices! Won't take my vehicle anywhere else.

Caused more damage than they repaired($1300 damaged dash v. $900 repair)! I brought my truck in for a heater core which cost me 900+ dollars almost (mostly labor) knowing that it was a labor intensive job that required the removal of the dash. I wanted someone experienced to remove it to keep the dash in one piece and free of damage. Instead, I received by a deeply scratched dash, scuffing on the door panels where they pull the dash off, and to top it off they did not reconnect anything on my CD Player (back up camera, android auto cable, and steering wheel controls) after they re-assembled everything. I brought the truck to them to show them the damage. They discussed it with their Technician who said he could not have done damage there and they have notified me they will not be replacing the damaged components. Except they had to take off this portion of the dash because they disconnected the components of my radio that they did not reconnect upon completion of the heater core replacement. They even acknowledged some of the damage could have been caused by their technician (on the door). I picked my truck up at 5:30 (December, so after dark). I only initially noticed the issues with the CD Player, so I called first thing in the morning to reach an agreement with Joe that he would provide some discount on my next job to be completed (already scheduled) and I would fix it myself so I didn't have to be without a vehicle and work out rides on short notice again. I brought the truck to them the next afternoon after I got to see the truck in the day light and saw the dash damage. They did not listen to me when I noted that I had not fixed their error on the wiring yet (therefore I had not touched my dash), instead claiming that I had made the scratch when I tried to fix their errors. They are unwilling to acknowledge that the most likely scenario for deep scratch in my dash was unintentional damage when someone removed it (a job they just performed). Instead they call their customer a liar. A customer who only wanted to have more car work done there (I had another 800+ dollar job scheduled before this incident).

Wasn't impressed. The first and only time I went there the site said $36 for an oil change which was incorrect. They told me they legally have to do it for that price, but they wouldn't do it. So I left.

Have seen many complaints of under estimated quote, problems with extra costs do to something else being wrong with vehicle and Joe's may even be liable for new problems.By law a service can only charge a small percentage over a quote, and has to be stated in contract. And with new problems after a part is repaired. Sometimes in order for them to warranty there parts and labor, everything beyond the point of repair has to be in fuctio ing order for them to honor labor and parts. But also they by law have to keep. And show all parts they say are malfunctioning. I come from a long line of repair servicing and auto sales and I highly would recommend taking auto to MR.AXLE and take advantage of the BBB

Honest and fair repair shop. Many places try to milk you for every penny. The price charged for the work done was super reasonable. Very fast too. I would definitely go back without hesitation. Thank you Joe's!

I will definitely be returning to Joe's service station. Very good customer service . And fast turn around time . Joe's also let me know about replacement of a rear main seal that would have cost a lot more to replace later . An honest repair shop is hard to find .and I am glad I went to Joe's service station

This used to be a Sunoco in the 60's/70's. My grandpa, Charles Nelson ran it. He worked on cars and pumped gas there. The old section was his section. He was a very hard working, honest man. When a place has MANY great reviews, like this place does, you know they are good. Some places only have 3 good reviews, which doesn't say much at all. You have many reviews which is more credible. It sounds like you are doing good work and you are honest, like my grandpa. He was a man's man. A man you looked up to. Sounds like you are keeping the tradition. Please always cherish your customers like you seem to be doing. My cousin worked for my grandpa and to this day has always revered him as a man. I remember visiting this building back then. It looks great! Back then, Sunoco would sell Crush - Orange, Grape, Strawberry. On Holidays, back in the 70's, my grandpa would bring home a huge case of the different colored and flavored pop. To a young child, seeing that was awesome. Am happy to see so many great reviews. Just had to post some nostalgia.

My father and I have been going to Joes since he opened on apple. We were very happy for a long time. Since has added on bays and hired help the service has gone down hill. I took my car in and gave him some information about what I have found and why I thought it was probably not the actual solenoid but something electrical making it not work. Paid 80 dollars for diagnostics and was told I definitely needed a solenoid in the transmission. I said okay go ahead and change it. So after a $415 bill they call back and say oh we did more diagnostics after replacing the solenoid because that didn't fix it and we found out your pcm is not working you'll need a new pcm which will be another 400 dollars. I took it to a professional shop so that they could do in depth test to make sure the pcm was sending the correct signals to the solenoid. I could have changed the solenoid and if that didn't work change the pcm or the opposite. I can change parts until I get the right one. The work done at Joes is very good quality and pretty quick, but seems like they are doing extra work lately to help pay for the addition. Same thing happened on my father's car. He is a very good mechanic just not happy with the last two visits there.
