Trustworthy and dependable. Took my 25 year old vehicle in 2 times for separate things and the first problem was fixed after 2 visits but they discounted the whole first visit because it ended up being a replacement rather than a repair. Then the second problem ended up a body work problem they diagnosed but couldn't perform and didn't charge me for that either. Lucky to have a great shop in town.

Tire light came on in our vehicle. Pulled into Skip's Auto Repair. Rick could see right as we pulled in one of our tires was almost flat. He went right to work fixing tire. He is knowledgeable and personable. Seems like a great asset for this business.We had a great experience here!! Thank you again!

Very thankful for the quick service Skip s Auto Repair provided. We are vacationing in the area and the water pump went out in our truck. They got us in and had it fixed in less than an hour. Got a flat tire outside dog patch, AAA truck called ahead so they were expecting me. Was in & out on 16 minutes! I'm so thankful for this place.

Skip's was wonderful enough to do a tire torque check quickly as we headed home after having new tires placed on our vehicle while out of town on vacation. We really appreciated them fitting us in.

I have been to Skip's four times in the last several months for various problems we have had with our truck. They have given honest and professional advice each time and have shown exceptional customer service. I would highly recommend them, not just for their service but also for their competitive prices.

These guys are great! We ran into a pretty major issue while up here for work. They got us in immediately, fixed us up to the extent of what their shop could offer, and gave us the ability to travel safely to get final repairs. Honest folks here!

I drive to Munising now for work everyday and have been putting miles on the car. For in and out jobs, Skips has been awesome. The wait is a little bit (to be expected in Munising), but the value and honesty has come a long way. I've broughten my car in a couple times now.Just yesterday, I dinged my tailpipe going over a train track and cracked my pipe a bit. I already had an appointment for today for a possible bushing replacement. Felt bad when I asked if they could take a peak at my exhaust aswell since it wasn't what I scheduled for. They accommodated my request and welded what I broke and only charged me labor.Thank you to the staff.

Was on vacation and engine light came on..they diagnosed the issue and reassured me it was a minor glitch. They didn't charge me which is almost unheard of...thanks for the wonderful service.

Amazing service. Hit a pothole on our trip in Munising going out to Miner's beach. Our truck was making odd noises afterwards. We finally took it in and thank goodness they could help us. We had a broken bearing on the truck and it could have been bad! Our front tire was wobbly when he lifted the front up on a jack. They were busy and short staffed, but the owner still took a look, which we are so thankful. We would have been stranded somewhere if he didn't help us out. Thanks everyone at Skip's! Keep up the good work and your wonderful gift of helping people.

Really good customer service. Was only in town for a long weekend when the engine light came on. Stopped at the auto repair shop one town over where we were staying and they couldn't be bothered. Stopped in at an auto parts store and they recommended Skip's. So glad they did. Hooked up the diagnostic to tell us what was the issue and did it all while being friendly, helpful and professional. No charge to boot.

These guys are the best at what they do! Highly recommend! They are completely booked up. That being said, I had a emergency 2 flats, one tire flew off the rim. I was able to putt putt into their parking area riding on the rim. Although they are extremely busy they were able to spare a few minutes to help and fix my tire issues without hesitation. Good people, trust worthy and honest! Also UP towing is a great company aswell! Extremely knowledgeable and will share honest opinions on the best route to take for the fix.

I needed to have my daughter stop there on her way to Northern with an engine light on. Skip's Auto repair took a quick look at the problem, fixed it, and sent her on her way in half hour, without charging a dime! I am so appreciative of these guys! Thank you Skip's Auto repair!!

I was traveling on a fall color road trip with my 88 year old father when we picked up a nail 10 miles west of Munising. I called Skip s and Heidi said to bring the car in and they would take care of us.Thanks to Heidi and Bubba, we were back on the road in less than 15 minutes.Such friendly, helpful people! We were on vacation and got a nail in our tire. We saw the good review for Skip's, and our campground host highly recommended him as well. Took our tire in, and it was repaired and put back on our Jeep in less than 20 minutes for only $15. We were so happy to be on the road again in such a short time, and not losing a vacation day. We were traveling from Tennessee and our Transmission Warning light came on, we called the closest Subaru Dealer and they would not help us, we stopped at Skips and waited till he came back from lunch, as soon as he got back he stopped what he was doing and got his diagnostic computer out and hooked our car up in the parking lot and diagnosed what was going on and would not even charge us! What joy yo find such amazing people when you do to ow anyone and are at others mercy!Services: Auto engine diagnostic, Oil change

Heidi was so helpful. We popped a tire and they were able to get our tire fixed sooner than anticipated, since we were needing to travel back to Metro Detroit with our 2 year old. Definitely recommend!

Great business! I was vacationing in Munising and discovered a huge nail in my tire. Stopped in without an appointment, and they repaired it right away. I was in and out in 15 minutes - and they were very reasonably priced.

Was in the area vising, I stopped at a gas station to fill up and noticed a leak coming from my Radiator. Being hours away from home, I knew I needed to get my vehicle looked at. Skips Auto was the first and closest business to show up. I arrived at Skips and spoke to the gentleman behind the desk ( I wish I would have asked him his name) He immediately went and inspected my vehicle. He found out what was wrong and began to fix it. It was a simple fix but he was very professional and efficient. He double checked it to make sure it was fixed and even gave me information on a possible issue with my vehicle. I was absolutely impressed with him and his professionalism. His price was very reasonable as he could have made me pay alot more. I highly recommend Skips Auto Repair. If I ever am in the area and have car issues I know exactly where I will be going. Thank you for all your help!

This guy saved us!! Our truck broke down on our way back down state. We called several dealerships and mechanic s and no one was willing to help us. Everyone was overwhelmed with work. Skip was too, but STILL went out of his way to help us and get us back on the road. I would highly recommend him and his shop in Munising MI. Great service, good people!

We had our minivan break down while in Munising and had a party of 9 that needed to get back to the Chicagoland area. We called Skip's and were able to get the van in for diagnostics, but they were unable to pinpoint (nor did they want to spend the time) exactly what was wrong. We were told on October 11th that they would not be able to work on our minivan until November. We paid $700 to rent a UHAUL and tow our van back to the Chicagoland area. Our mechanic had the van fixed and running within a day. I am giving Skip's one star because they did not charge us for the diagnostic. If you want your vehicle fixed within a month, do not take it here!

Amazing. We had a valve stem break and pulled in with an almost flat tire in the middle of our road trip. They jumped on it like it was their mission. 15 minutes later we were on the road. Price was super reasonable. Very friendly folks. Awesome!!Service: TiresService: Tires

My two daughters were on there way downstate when the low pressure tire warning light came on. I called Skips to ask if they could stop in and have it checked out. The front desk admin was very gracious and told me to have them stop in. They not only checked the tires and filled them, but told the girls the one tire to keep an eye on and sent them on there way...no charge. Can not thank them enough for their trust and kindness.

It s not hard to see why almost every single review on here is incredibly complementary. I took my car there after getting it looked at a week ago, back home, leaving My car for hours and running up a $500 repair. Upon my arrival in munising I realized the problem was never fixed. I went to skips on a whim, hoping to save my vacation. One of the staff said he would look at it to make sure it was safe, since they were really busy. He hopped in the car, found the problem in literally 30 seconds or less, offered to get my car in, and then fixed my problem in 15 minutes at a good price, when I easily could have been taken advantage of being so far from home. Thanks for saving my vacation, and easing my mind.
