We stayed here over our Anniversary weekend in August and it was a full house -- no vacancy. We were a little disappointed because we originally rented a King bed for our anniversary weekend and this wasn't fulfilled. We were stoked because we sleep on a queen at home, so having some space to sprawl was gonna be nice. Unfortunately, we arrived to find we got two full size beds instead of a king. And if you've ever gone from a Queen to a full, you know it can be jarring if you aren't expecting it and quite uncomfortable to be squished in. With that said, the beds were also not very comfortable to begin with. You could feel the springs when you sat on it. Other amenities such as the hairdryer and water pressure were good though. Good water pressure is hard to find when it comes to hotels/motels, and I was pleasantly surprised. To add to it, this is a self-check-in situation, and when we arrived, the key for our room was missing. It took almost an hour and a half for the staff to get back to us because when there's no vacancy, they don't have anyone manning the desk.Overall, we weren't expecting much. We loved being in the heart of Munising and so close to Pictured Rocks, but we didn't enjoy the motel part of our stay.Nearby activities: Lots of hiking, kayaking, and cruises nearby. It's right in the heart of Munising.Food & drinks: The food options in town are limited, but it is a more rural, tourist area so that's to be expected.

Room was clean and nice housekeeping staffing, location super close walking distance to super market, gas station across the street, 10 min walk to marina in case you taking a tour a pictured rocks highly recommended, also all kinds of restaurants for location took off one star because the homes right next to the hotel are in bad shape and seems like not a good neighborhood it gets better as you go to next block and more business show, the road of homes have broken windows and trash, we make sure we lock the cars and apparently there are cameras not sure that will help in case something happen we took our own measures. Our room had aSlight odor I couldn t ping point but, very clean coul have been the products they use for cleaning, bed are ok, they take pets for $25 non refundable fee to wash the comforters after your visit I feel that is somewhat reasonable, we were in the second floor closest parking lot is in the back of the motel which make me little anxious however they were many cars so we felt that we were ok like I said the row of home immediately behind are in bad shape that didn t make me feel good, the town it self is small and gets better as you approaches the marina, walking distance to code shops. Food around it s ok nothing is open late be aware. They have good coffee microwave little Fridge. The key is a regular key easy to loose our felt on the ground and we coulnt find. USB connector and wifi.Nearby activities: Recommended pictures rock cruiseWalkability: Everything cruise tour and food 5-10 min away

Cute place to stay. We actually rented the attached house which adjoins the motel for a girls trip. It was the perfect spot to sightsee and be able to walk to some restaurants if we wanted to. The owners made sure you had everything you needed to make the stay comfortable. It was clean and updated. The only issue I had was the door connecting to the motel. We would have people standing in the hallway having conversations and you could hear it really clearly. I don't know if a better door there would help as there is a gap that would allow sound coming in. All in all a great place to rest. 2 bed, 2 bath plus a very comfortable sleeper sofa.

Honestly, I don't understand the prices in munising and it all feels predatory on tourists. Our room was $175 a night and honestly I've had cleaner rooms at a motel 6. There was pee and hair on the toilet seat, the floor was uncomfortably sticky, and the shower wall had hair and.. mystery goo, while the shower drain was clogged. The AC somehow made the room more humid than it was outside, and there was a random fire stick remote that didn't even go to anything in the room or on the TV.The bed and everything was fine but man, I would've been much cooler with how gross it all was if this place were $80 a night instead.

We recently stayed at the Munising Motel. It was very convenient to downtown, everything was within walking distance. The room was clean and nicely updated, and the staff was nicely unobtrusive. The only complaint I had with my stay was that our bed was highly uncomfortable, you could feel the springs while laying on it. My significant other and I had trouble sleeping, and we left with our backs feeling like we had slept on the floor. I'm not sure if it was just our room (I had seen reviews stating that the beds were comfortable?) or if it is the case for the entire motel. It led to quite a miserable experience, and I am unsure if we would stay there again if traveling back to Munising (or at least without asking if they'd upgraded the beds first!)

The room were very clean and we just had a little trouble with the TV but the manager came in and took care of it for us. She was super nice. The bed was comfy and had a good night sleep

Take a pass on this place especially if you book a room with two beds, as they crammed the second bed into the room in a way that renders the coat hanger shelf totally useless, and you get to crawl over the bed to use the a/c. Not sure whose idea that was but it s not good. The bathroom door opened into the bathroom, meaning you couldn t use the tiny sink with the door open. Good luck with the itty bitty shower too if you re a fully grown man. It was the most expensive of all the rooms we stayed in for the week, at $200 a night. But we wanted to be able to walk into town which was convenient. Honestly it should be about $50 a night. Bring some tape and a piece of cardboard to block the sunlight in the morning that will shoot through the glass in the door every morning. Luckily the Shell station across the street has coffee because we couldn t figure out the Keurig thing. Really, the only good thing was it s convenience to town, and we had a cool sunset storm that gave me some good pics.

The room was well above average but...... upon entering our room we were overpowered by strong smell of cannabis. The room was aired out to my lady's satisfaction thanks to the efforts of the young man behind the counter. My issue, and the reason behind the two star rating, is with the owner. Apparently customer service isn't in her vocabulary. I found it difficult to believe she hadn't had this problem before. For this reason alone you should consider staying elsewhere. Oh, and the smell returned.

Not too shabby but a little pricey for the small basic room. It was clean, we saw the employee on his hands and knees washing the hotel room floor with cleaner, they do the work for sure. The bathroom looked like it had some recent updates, good water pressure (if you're into that kind of thing).

Had a bad odor, owners fixed us up with another room. Come to find out there was a leak, and it did some minor damage. Good price, great owners.Walkability: Close to downtown

Room was way overpriced for the accomodations. I've slept in nicer rooms for $50!!! Toilet paper was thinner than at rest stops, towels were cheap thin little pieces of cloth, bar of soap was so tiny you could blink your eyes & lose it!!! The bed was lumpy & soft. Needs a second set of steps to upper rooms & walkway is so narrow it's hard to carry luggage to those upper rooms. The window in the door might be pretty, but it's aweful if you want a dark room to sleep.Overall I would never recommend this place!!!

My husband and I stayed for 1 night in mid-October 2019 and had a wonderful stay! After reading some reviews, I think they recently did a lot of renovations and updates.Everything was clean and very friendly staff. The rooms are small and modest for amenities, but we just needed a comfortable, clean place to stay which is what we got. Felt comfortable for just the two of us.The only thing I would mention as a negative is the AC/heat unit. The machine is clearly old and could use an upgrade. A bit inconsistent heat and made a some noise but nothing we couldn t deal with.We also loved being close to Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore (the reason for our visit to Munising) and the bagel shop across the street was awesome!

Well, it's kind of clean and close to downtown. I can't really say anything else positive. The carpet is gross, bring socks. The bed is old. There are holes in the doors - not all the way through. TV remote does not work. Wall plugs are so worn they won't even hold the lamp plug without it falling out, I had to bend the plug to keep it in.If you stay here do not get a room on the 2nd floor, you can only access it by going through the lobby. How this place passed a fire inspection is beyond me. There is no emergency exit to leave the second floor, only to go back through the lobby.

Comfortable bed, quiet rooms. Would be significantly better with a simple curtain over the glass in the door so that the rooms could be kept dark inside at night. Internet was very slow during our stay.

We stopped in Munising for the night on our way to the western side of the UP. We didn t make reservations ahead of time. There were five of us in our group and we were very happy to find this gem of a motel with two rooms available! The beds were comfy and the room and bathroom were both very clean. Tony was friendly and very accommodating. We would definitely stay here again!

We booked our hotel late for Munising, and the Munising Motel was the only place with availability. We spent three nights there. It's a very cute motel, the room was clean, and the a/c worked great. It's right across the street from a great breakfast place and within walking distance of a nice downtown area. The owner/manager was very friendly and helpful. My only (minor) gripes: the shower was very sensitive and went from cold to scalding hot seemingly randomly, and the window at the top of the entry door doesn't have a curtain, so sunlight comes in very early. The latter was solved by hanging a towel over the door when we closed it for the night.Overall, it was a great stay, and we would definitely consider the Munising Motel next time we're in the UP.

Okay, it's cheaper than other places, and was a decent basic accommodation right in the middle of downtown when we stayed there two years ago, but they never returned my phone calls this year. We're in our 70s and both somewhat disabled, so we wanted to make sure of a few things the pain-in-the-butt website doesn't handle. We kept calling over a period of weeks, and finally gave up on the day of arrival. How rude!

Beware of this Motel! We stayed at this motel for 2 nights in early July 2018. The man at the desk said he was having trouble with our credit card, so we charged the room on another card. After we checked our online transactions, we were surprised to find we had been double billed. We have contacted the motel 3 times and been assured that they will take care of it. They still have not issued a refund for the double billing.

Staying here made our vacation perfect! The location is close enough to walk to anything in Munising, they offer King sized beds, the employees are super nice and fun to talk to! And the price is great even for college students! We just left and are already planning on coming back

Clean enough / decent price. On the main road so a little noisy but you can sit on the front balcony and watch the Upper Peninsula drive by. Only issue was that WiFi signal was very weak at the last room along the row. Should invest in some signal boosters.

Rooms were nice and clean, however, when we showed up, there wasn't a parking spot available. I reserved 2 rooms, and, there wasn't even one spot available. This wouldn't bother me as much as it does, except, my husband and daughter are both handicapped. I tried to call the front desk a few times, and no answer.

Great little no frills place. Very clean. Comfy beds. I loved that they had a minifridge and microwave in room. Only problem was the lock on the door was on the doorknob only. Didn't seem completely safe to me.

I was going to give this motel 3-stars, but just couldn't... Yhose pillows. When we first attempted to get in the room both keys (yes keys) took an act of Houdini proportions to get them to open the door. Once in we were confronted with 60 degree temperatures. I have to assume they were running the A.C. non-stop to lower the dampness... albeit unsuccessfully. There is no ventilation in the bathroom, so all steam from showering just rolls into the room. This rendered a mirror in the main room useless (see photo). You could towel it off, but it would just steam up again. And before we leave the bathroom, I wanted to mention the old bathtub's low point was in the middle of the tub not at the drain. This guaranteed a standing puddle. The coup de gras would be the stained towels/wash cloths. It's always a joy putting these to your face. After everyone had showered we opened the window and door to allow the entrance of dry air. The carpet felt damp at all times and was filthy (see photos).Like I said earlier it was uncomfortably cold when we first entered the room, so I set the A.C. to "Heat" and 72 degrees. A sour smell akin to a vinegar douche was smelled. Just speculation, but I think they may have tried to remedy a mold/mildew problem with a vinegar solution. Finally, after my shower I sat in bed chatting with my wife. It was at this time that I was wondering if I did a piss-poor job of bathing, because I could smell someone or something in need of a shower. It turns out it was the pillows. They wreaked of accumulated sweat and body oil... like an old dirty comb. They immediately went on the floor. The entry door knob, flimsy shower head and temperature control along with the holes in the bathroom door all need attending.... Dust once on a while. On the plus side, the spartan, outdated, hodge-podge of a bathroom was visibly clean... Although, the shower curtain smelled a bit like a used bar rag the morning after. The motel is walking distance to everything downtown. We did love the 5-USB charging hub with multiple outlets for additional chargers. The room had a Keurig coffee brewer (bonus), but don't hope for decaf. The beds were comfortable, but how do you comfortably sleep when you can smell other people? If this was a $50-$60 fishing motel I would say you get what you paid for. Needless to say I would not recommend this motel for the $151 and change paid.

This place was clean and the staff was friendly. They took COVID procedures seriously. The mattresses need to be replaced or flipped as they have a lot of wear and deep indents where others had slept. I just slept in the middle of the bed LOL. I can t believe no one else has said this (but I noticed right away) but there is no fire exit for those on the second floor. The only exit is through the office but if that was on fire there d be no way out. A set of stairs should be added at the end of the second story to downstairs.

A very tiny room, jam packed with furniture. Still there was no chair and you had to climb over a bed to get to the rack to hang anything up. The bathroom was even smaller. To stand in front of the mirror, you had to close the door. The light switches were behind the door! The shower was the smallest I've been in for some time.It is convenient to walk into town and, therefore, to the Pictured Rocks Cruises (which is why we visited). There is no breakfast, but the restaurant next door is open for breakfast.

My wife and I came up to munising to see some waterfalls and the oictured rocks. We had a great experience at the Munising Motel. The staff was very young but also very accommodating and friendly. The Wi-Fi worked well and the air conditioner was a life saver. The location is in perfect walking distance to many restaurants and a grocery store. The room was cozy and included a microwave and minifridge. The shower was small for me but it wasnt really a big deal (I am 6' 3). When we go back, we will stay there again for sure!
