We stayed here (room 9/10 at the end) with our two dogs and were very pleased. The cabins are cute and homey. Also very clean - honestly cleaner than some chain hotels we ve stayed at (which was surprising considering dogs are welcome).Check-in and check-out process was very easy. Dog waste stations onsite. Parking right in front of the doors to the room. The manager Michael was also very kind.We would certainly come back with our dogs!

First, the good: The cabins are inviting and spacious, and they have everything you need to store your food and cook your own meals (big fridge, microwave, electric stove with 4 burners). The is a bit noisy, but the cabins are set back far enough so that it's not too distracting. There is a fire pit and picnic table out front, and you can use one of the charcoal grills on site. Now the not-so-good: My only mild criticism of the place is that the owners seem to be in no hurry to be helpful or focused on the customer. They are an elderly couple who seem ambivalent about running their business. The hotel desk is actually a foyer in their home, and you always feel as though you're interrupting their dinner or imposing on their privacy as you enter. We had a slow draining sink, and I just felt it would be too cumbersome and awkward to ask for a fix...so we just worked around it. It's that type of place. But hey....I'd stay there again.

Well.. we showed up at like 1:30pm, snow wasn t cleared, cabin 3 which we stayed smelled like something died all weekend.. we kept having to air it out. About an inch of dust on the fan in there so didn t want to turn it on. Had windows that didn t want to lock.. took some effort. But one was missing lock all together.Positive note it does have some space, close to trails, if they did give the places some love they wouldn t be bad.Not my first choice. But not saying I wouldn t try again.

Cabin #1 was really nice, it was clean and spacious. The porch was big enough to be able to set outside and enjoy the fresh air. We had a problem with the price. When we called at the end of April we were told the cabins were $70. When we checked in we were told $120 a night then immediately was told it was $140 a night. That is quite an increase! The Woman that told us the price when we checked in said she told us the $70 was for the Motel rooms which wasn't true. Both of us heard her say $70 over the phone when the reservation was made.

Found this by luck as everything around was either booked or $200/ night. My son and I just needed somewhere to relax, sleep and shower. The gentleman told me there was no A/C but there was a fan in the room. I wasn't expecting much for the price and by the looks of the exterior of the room. The room was sparkly clean. There was a mini fridge and microwave. I liked that the toilet and shower were separate from the sink. The beds were suprising comfortable. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

I absolutely love this cute little mom and pop motel. The room was definitely outdated but still cute. They were clean which is the most important. I would definitely stay here again especially for the price. Got here pretty late in the night and the woman at the front desk was still very nice.

You get what you pay for. It's the cheapest around for a reason, but it's an acceptable place if you need a nice rest. You're not going to be staying at the Hilton for these kinds of prices. The beds are comfortable. The rooms have refrigerators, microwaves, dressers, and a TV. No coffee makers . It's bare bones, but it's okay. The owners are the friendly and accommodating. It's a great place if you just need a place to rest your head.

The motel rooms are pretty run down and could use a bit of TLC but it's a cheap place to stay giving you extra cash to spend on the other activities in Munising! The gentleman who is one of the owners is really nice and friendly! We didn't stay in one but the cabins arenewer and can sleep 4 or 6. They are pretty big and have a kitchenette so could be a great option for a bigger family!

So happy we came back a second night. The owner told me they are slowly working to update the rooms. We stayed in an older room & an updated room. Both rooms were clean, comfortable, had more space than expected in a motel room & a good price. An added bonus of a microwave & mini fridge. I would say I liked staying here more than a fancy chain hotel.

Stayed in cabin 2 for several days. Very nice. Needs more plates forks spoons knives cups and pots and pans. Otherwise very comfortable and quiet. Nice bathroom. Can sleep 6 in the 3 full size beds. One bed is in the open dining room kitchen area so best for kids or teenagers. The other 2 beds are in one large bedroom. Kitchen and dining room needs more lights

We truly had an excellent experience at the Hilltop Cottages. We stayed in the lodge portion and our room was clean, quiet and had a spacious updated shower and comfy bed. Thr owner/manager was kind..even waiting up for our rather later arrival, offered some suggestions for dining and had great coffee ready in the morning.

This was the perfect spot to stay while sight seeing in Munising. The cabin was super comfortable for our family of 6 and would have been able to bring 2 more if we really wanted. I love that there was a full kitchen and regular size refrigerator along with a dining table. We brought scooters for the downtime while we were getting ready to go places and the kids even got to ride those in the parking lot because it wasn't super busy. There was a nice little picnic area and fire pit we could have used as well but there wasn't much time for us to do that.

The owners and staff are # 1. They were very accommodating and understanding during our vacation. We rented the cabin for 2 days which turned into 4. They even adjusted our rate to save us money. I'll recommend this place to everyone I know and then some. The cabins are great for a small family or group. Full kitchen (stove, fridge, sink, and cooking stuff) bath, and plenty of room. The porch has a small table and chairs to relax at. Outdoor fire pit and BBQ area. Don't miss out on a great experience.Close to all that Munising and the surrounding areas have to offer with ATV/Snowmobile trails close to the parking lot. Can't beat it.

We stayed in one of the motel rooms. It was a last minute reservation as the last day of our camping trip did not go as expected. There were multiple hairballs on the floor. It looks like they hadn't swept or vacuumed for a long time. The tile ceiling looked like it was falling in. At the base of the outside of the tub, it looked like mildew was collecting. People were outside playing loud music until 3 am when it started raining and forced them inside. The beds were comfortable, but with the condition of the room, we were pretty nervous to sleep in them. I don't care whether or not things are updated and trendy, I just want a clean room, and this was not clean.

Enjoyed our visit both times. We got Cabin #3 last year and this. People were nice and it wasn't too far from Dollar General, waterfalls, and Munising. Can't wait to stay again. Thank you.

Great place for only $60 a night. Not fancy by any means but clean and comfy, free Wi-Fi & cable TV. The owners are very friendly.

Good location and quick access to town. Clean and cheap. Definitely no frills but we are not here to hang out in the room. This town has so much to offer and it is a must do! This hotel serves our purpose. One thing there is no air conditioning but this is usually not a problem. Most people don't use air conditioning I'm the UP

A very nice mom and pop place. Nothing fancy, but not expensive. The owners are really nice people. They are currently updating their rooms one at a time and are looking really nice. Would definitely recommend and stay there again.

Very affordable. The cheapest place I have ever found in Munising/Wetmore area. Plenty of hot water. The place is dated but you can't beat the price if you are there for work. The people that run it where very nice and kept the drive plowed.

For $60 a night in prime season I couldn't be happier. Due to weather our hike was delayed a day so we needed a place to stay for one night. Every place in the area has the prices jacked up, some over $200, for tourist season. We were happy to find out this place had a cancellation and for a good price. Just a plain room close to town, shower, WiFi internet, mini fridge, microwave, cable TV (no flat screen). No bed bugs.

Nice motel for the money. Rooms were nice and clean and the entire staff was great. Family owned and operated. The manager and employees were very informative with things to do in the area. Gave us information on best place to go for grocery shopping prices and where we could try some local family-owned restaurants. Great stay here. Highly recommend

We stayed in a cabin and it's amazing! It has everything you'll ever need. Very clean and comfortable beds. And the price is very reasonable.

Every hotel/motel/inn we called in Munising were booked. We were very thankful Hillcrest motel wasnt. We tried getting the cabin instead but was told they weren't available. Although we were thankful for a place to rest at night, we did not enjoy our stay sadly. The wallpapers were tearing, windows were cracked and there were ants every where. Even the sheets felt very very sticky. Our neighbor woke up very very early and kept opening the door, and slamming it shut back and forth for 30 mins too. I'm not sure if he was part of maintenance and temporarily residing in that room but it was rude. Other than that, location was good.

All I can say is it was a visit alright... Room smelled like a locker room and the room was pretty beat up. The TV is an old school box TV and the WiFi doesn't work. The guy running the place is really friendly. There are a lot of other motels/hotels in the area that I suggest you checkout first.

For the price I shouldn't complain it wouldn't hurt to take a rag and dust the room we had and change the shower head. I'm 5'3 and had to duck down to wash my hair. All in all it was convenient
