Needed a -10AN hydraulic hose, so they built one with an NPTF fitting. When I test fit the hose, I found it not seating correctly and it was obvious it was not going to seal properly under pressure because the flares are different angles. Also, NPTF fittings are far more restrictive to flow than the AN fitting I asked for. So i took the hose back and told Mike it was not going to work. He said "we don't return these once they've been made". I told him I understand, but he did not use the fitting I asked for it it is not going to work. He said again that they "do not return these once they are made". I told him that I understood him the first time, and I can see why that might be the case on the fittings, but surely he could refund the hose itself since it was never used, was 8' long, and can be resold if someone needs a shorter hose. As expected, he said they "do not return these after they are made".Assuming that Mike would not return the hose after it was made, I informed him that I disagree with his decision but will help him by making sure all potential customers are informed of this policy. This review is intended to do AutoValue a favor by educating the public about their shady return policy that apparently excludes items that they build with the wrong materials, that do not meet the customers specifications.
