Went in for an oil change and a front brake inspection. They notified me I needed a new front rotor and pads and they needed to free up the caliper. Was done in a very timely manner, very happy with their work. It's nice having someone close by that I can trust.

I appreciate Jerry and his team. I found myself driving into town with a flashing service engine soon light. They were able to squeeze me in and get me on with my trip. I appreciate the open and honest communication through the diagnostic stage, and coming up with a solution and repair that worked to get me back on the road. Most of all I appreciate their kindness on what was a difficult day. Thank you for your empathy, honesty and integrity in diagnosing and repairing my truck.

Southside Automotive is great. I had a bad alternator on my Jeep. Called around - nobody could schedule service sooner than 2 weeks. Wally at Southside had me in the next day and my Jeep back in 2 business days. I could not be happier with their customer service.

When my daughters power steering was still not working properly Jerry got her right in. They did a full inspection of her car and found that there was a line leak, which we suspected. He fixed her car the same day. He even reached out a few days later to make sure everything was ok and that we were happy with his service. I would recommend going here over any other place. Its hard to find good service in the U.P. but we found it here.

Always have had a great experience with Jerry at Southside. I ve been here to get repairs done on my 2013 Subaru Forester 3 or 4 times now in the last few years. Very communicative and fast service.

Being a single woman, going to the mechanic can be a nightmare. I was raised helping my dad work on cars so I know enough to not get swindled, but most shops will assume I m ignorant and/or talk down to me.I had issues with my clutch summer 2021 and was calling shops to get quotes for a clutch replacement. I called southside at the recommendation of a friend and Jerry insisted I bring it in for them to look at, properly diagnose it, and give me a quote - for free. I begrudgingly and reluctantly agreed, but boy was I glad I did. They easily spent an hour looking over everything and found the cause for my clutch issues (it wasn t the clutch) and saved me well over $1k. And as promised, didn t charge me at all.Since then, I bring my car (02 Honda Civic) here for my routine oil changes and maintenance. They do routine inspections and let me know what sorts of maintenance needs to be done and are honest about if it can wait, and how long it can probably wait for. I ve watched Jerry explain the mechanics of vehicles and their issues to other female customers with an amazing amount of grace and patience and, again, no sort of talking down to them. I have referred several of my own friends here and will continue to bring my vehicle here for as long as I have one and live in the area.

I will never recommend Southside to anyone. I took my 2019 equinox here because my driver side window was stuck down. After about 4 hours I got a call saying they didn t know what was wrong with it but it was probably one of two things. They told me they could get my window up and all together it would be about $250 and would take about an hour. I consented and gave them the go ahead to put the window up. But I was called a few hours later when it was ready and the price was $355 with no explanation why. I paid because I literally had no choice. Jerry assured me that they had gotten the window up and locked and it would NOT fall down. A day after getting my car back my window started to fall down. Now I m out $355 and my car window is still down.

Had transmission fluid leak and couldn't drive it to shop. They sent tow truck to pick it up. They called the next week when they had a chance to look at it and gave estimate for replacing cooling lines. The next day it was done. Great service reasonable price.

I have had work done at Southside before and think they do very good work. I especially appreciate the warranty on work done. They diagnosed that I needed to have front and back brake work done. Since the front brakes were still warrantied by a different auto service, I will have them do that work. But I will have the rest of the service done by Southside.Service: Vehicle Inspection

I called out to see if they would be able to fix an exaust leak on my truck. They got me in quickly, and did a great job fixing the issue. May not be the cheapest, but they do good quality work, and I would always prefer quality work over cheap. I will be using them again in the future.

Exceptional service! On a return trip from Canada, my brakes went completely out on my truck. My roadside service had the truck towed to Southside Automotive as I live hours away. They were able to look at the problem and gave me a couple of options to consider. I didn't want to go thru a near accident experience again, so I had them replace the rusted brake lines. They couldn't do the work until the next day, so they saw to it I had a vehicle to use. They went above and beyond my expectations in helping me out. The work they did was excellent, as well as guaranteed! If I lived in the Marquette area, I would definitely be a regular customer. This is a garage you can trust.

Guy Quoted $645 for front pads and rotors. Then charged $75 after I declined the service because he already had work in it . Asked him why the quote was literally double the other shops and his answer was I don t know ..Spoke with 2 other very reputable outfits that could do the work for half the cost. Just couldn t get me in as quick as this guy... should have known better- extremely high quote! I got the work done for $325 with high quality parts and a warranty as well. This guys response about using high quality parts ect is garbage and downright wrong and my experience with other shops at half the price has been stellar.. No front brakes and pads should should ever cost that much. He did zero caliper work. $645 was the qoute. $645!!! For front brakes and rotors..

Had a complete motor swap done. The crew was very helpful and made sure I was okay with everything done the whole way through. Saved me money where they could and have held up their end of the deal with warranty and making sure my truck is running the way it should. Not the first work I've had done there but deffinetly the biggest job. All my experiences with them have been great and I feel like I've gotten the best deals I can. Would recommend for sure

Service at Southside is great! Wally is super knowledgeable and insightful in answering all the questions and concerns I had. He also went out of his way to explain everything in layman's terms so I knew what I was paying for. He didn't try to sell me on anything I didn't need (like so many other shops have) and showed me what went wrong with my old parts. Great service, I will certainly be coming back here again!!!

AMAZING! They were absolutely incredible! We are from out of state on vacation when we noticed something wrong with our car. They got us in immediately even though they were really busy. Very friendly and helpful guys working there. They even complimented our dog so I'd give them 6 stars if possible hah! Seriously though can't thank them enough!

I rolled into Southside Automotive's lot with a flat20 minutes before they closed their doors for the night but the mechanics got my stubborn rim off for me so could take it to a tire shop for a new tire. Thanks to them I was able to make the 450 mile drive home and be at work the next day and they wouldn't even let me pay them. Can't recommend them enough!Service: General repairs & maintenance

I had a few problems with my truck over the past couple weeks. I have went to Southside for all of them. They fixed it in a timely manner everytime for a fair price. Great people to work with. Great place to go. Will highly recommend to anyone.

We were traveling in the Michigan UP pulling a small camper trailer when our truck started having power failures. We limped into Marquette where Southside Auto and Jerry dropped everything and got us back on the road within a few hours. The cost was well within what we expected, and the folks were all friendly and knowledgeable. They would be our family mechanics if we didn t live 1500 miles away! Thanks!

Ordered a one way uhaul from them. Uhaul goofed and sent our truck elsewhere but we only knew that by chatting at pick up. Sunday night Wally tracked it down and ensured we had it Monday morning as requested. Then also got my oil changed as we were loading the truck! Super nice staff.

First place that came up on a search for Audi repair in Marquette. With nearly 40 good reviews I took a chance and I'm glad I did.Not every shop works on German cars, and the ones that are willing to but normally don't, may not know enough about the car or may charge more than normal for the hourly labor.I'd recommend them for any job on any make of vehicle. The mechanics here don't just fix only what is broken or what you ask them to, they check over every single part related to the problem.What started as a simple clutch repair turned into more with a broken shift linkage, worn out flywheel and crank sensor. Yet I found no surprises or hidden charges. They called the minute more problems were found and checked with me before ordering expensive parts.Because of how they are engineered and built, German vehicles aren't easy to wrench on. For a mechanic who has never worked on one, it can be a nightmare just to change a water pump or in this case, a clutch. Southside Auto is the only place in Marquette that I'd recommend for Audi, BMW, VW and Mercedes. It's easy to see they're experienced and know what they're doing.

Brought my old car here to find out why it was choking itself out and basically running with the power of a 88 Yugo pulling a firetruck uphill. Turns out I had a family of critters living in my air filter box. They compiled a list of all issues needing to be addressed as well. Found them professional, knowledgeable...with a good sense of humor.

As a first-time customer who recently phoned Southside a couple of days ahead of my visit with the details of a likely electrical problem with my 1993 Toyota Camry LE, I was very impressed with the thorough and efficient service I received on October 30. Wally and his mechanic zeroed in on the immediate trouble quickly, at very reasonable cost, and with patient attention to my many questions, while identifying in their thorough standard safety check a number of longer-term warning signs, some known and some new to me, due for advisable action before long. I hope to return for future service, and I believe that anyone who, new to Southside, stops in for service will be very pleased likewise as well.
