Great transmission shop, he rebuilt my transmission in a 2000 gmc 2500 HD 3 years ago for my plow truck, a 4L80E, it's still going strong. Had a problem the 1st time with it. He sent a truck and trailer 60 miles to pick up my truck and fixed the problem. Very respectful.Honored the warranty without any problems

I own a diesel shop in southern Michigan an hour and a half away. After several mishaps with trans builders around me I found Dave. All my transmission s will be coming from his shop. Communication was good and Customer satisfaction was amazing! I purchased a case from Dave because mine cracked and just wanted to have the internals swapped into the good case since the trans had just been rebuilt a year prior. This was done but after I picked it up and installed it, it was not shifting correctly so I towed it back to be looked at. Long story short, after another trip to Maple Rapids Dave ended up putting one of his newly remanufactured units in it without me asking and he delivered the vehicle back to my place to keep me satisfied. I have since put over 10,000 miles (around 5,000 towing heavy) on the transmission and it is working great!Service: Transmission

Great service, super quick, and a great price. All in one location. I would give them 10 stars if I could. So happy with the work done for my F350 diesel. Edit! The transmission ended up being junk. They did not honor their warranty and left us high and dry.

After months of trying to find a repair facility with a turnaround of under 4-6 weeks, I found Dave and Grabbin Gears Transmissions. I dropped the car off on Saturday afternoon, on Sunday I get a message saying the trans will be assembled and installed Monday and that I could pick it up that evening. Let me tell you, the entire experience was nothing less than stellar. My 95 Mustang GT is back on the road, and very happy! One of the most stand-up transmission builders around hands down, if you question his transmissions based on failure you should look a little deeper, yes things will and do break brand new but not repeatedly! Long story short on 3rd transmission in 7 months, within 20 min of 3rd trans installed I had deemed it the biggest piece of junk ever.... this guy drove almost 4 hrs to my house and said he wasn't leaving until it was 100% satisfactory and without turning a wrench and 2 hrs later had diagnosed (MY) issue YES NOT his built transmission but MY truck issue, fixed it and had my truck shifting and driving better than any truck I have ever driven! It was simply a compound ground issue within my own truck that was destroying the 5R110w in minutes. Thanks again Dave for your outstanding commitment to the warranty you provide with your products!!
